I only went in for a little bit(less than 8 minutes coz Hubby is hurrying me up. The staff are so friendly & helpful I saw sapodilla, mangoes, jujube, guavas, papayas, tamarind, and of course , mangoes right at the entrance. The prices are $$$ but what did you expect? It's not easy or quick to grow these amazing plants, trees-- otherwise we would all be doing it. I would love to visit when Hubby isn't hurrying me up

The reason why - and I have to point this out because the store is named Rooted - is most of the neon pothos did not look too healthy aside from one plant in a 6" pot (larger than what I was looking for). In fact, many of the plants were rather middling, with soil looking dry when most inventory are tropical houseplants. Was it the heat at the time I visited or negligence? I'm not sure, but even with seemingly fair prices as plant shops go (4" philodendron Brazil was $12), it's harder to buy a plant that looks sickly. In addition to plants, Rooted also carries housewares and refills for shampoo, body wash, etc. I can't speak to the prices because I have a similar store within walking distance that I typically bring my dispensers to.

The staff is generally helpful, though I did have an awkward experience at checkout. When I mentioned the weight of an item, the staff member questioned the accuracy several times. I wasn't sure if she was new or if there was some hesitation in trusting the information I provided. She said she was "just trying to make sure it was right," but it felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable. It might make more sense for staff to weigh items themselves to avoid situations like this. Overall, it's a pleasant store, but the inconsistent availability and that checkout experience make me unsure if I'll return.

Located on Orange Avenue, in the Eastern section of Long Beach California, this business is a little bit off of the beaten path. It's actually a truly unique neighborhood. Though it's basically a residential area, there's a number of unique businesses right around Goods on Orange. So, you can easily grab a meal, or a coffee, or a little bit of something else once you come to the area this business is located within. Once inside, you are overwhelmed with a plethora of all kinds of everything. It's truly a visual experience to walk into this business. They have a lot of great everything. I can't say that enough, because you truly never know what you are going to find when you go in. The staff here are all super nice, so if you have any questions, they're happy to help you out with whatever they can. In terms of pricing, they're very fair. Sure, you can maybe find cheaper prices at a thrift store. But, at a thrift shop you're never guaranteed that you're will find the best of the best like is available at this business. On weekends, you may have to walk a little bit, because, as stated, there is a number of other businesses directly surrounding Goods on Orange. But, it's a good way to get your steps in. This was my first trip to the shop, and it was great! It is way bigger than you'd initially think it is, which makes it such a fun way to spend a few hours exploring all the goodies in the shop. They have everything from clothes to silverware to home goods, vinyls, shoes, art, jewelry, and more. They wrap your items up with paper so they stay protected while you're transporting it home. Right now, they have their seasonal Christmas items up and available for purchase. The store can be difficult to get around depending on whether or not you have certain accommodations necessary for navigation. For example, no ramps inside despite some steps, and some of the spaces are fairly narrow. However, the store has a sign up that they're happy to try to help all customers access the store; you have to let them know if you need help. Overall, I found their prices to be fairly competitive. They do have sales which you can find out about via their Instagram page. They do not offer any discounts on items. They accept both cash and credit cards, but prefer cash. If you use a credit card, your minimum purchase must be at least $10 or else you incur a fee. If I read things right, they only accept Visa and Mastercard.
