Like Ray N., I love this Ralph's. It is pricey compared to other grocery stores near UCR (like Staters and Food 4 Less) but I like coming here regardless for a couple of reasons. I like the sandwiches and sushi they have at the deli, as well as the baked goods. Theyre surprisingly pretty good. They always have some sale of certain alcohol I like (just make sure you have your Ralph's club card with you!). They have a good flower selection, and the whole store is pretty well-kept and pretty itself. It's in the Canyon Crest Plaza and it's such a pretty place. I wouldn't come here for regular grocery shopping but for sandwiches, quick sushi fix, and alcohol, then yeah expect me to come here. read more

I love this Ralphs! I literally live across the street so I'm a frequent visitor, but in terms of a grocery store, this is the best quality one around. The employees are really friendly, and I know I'm one of THOSE customers that can be a real pest sometimes, but they don't seem phased at all. It's also open til 1am, so it's perfect for those last minute midnight cravings that you just HAVE to have late at night. If you're looking for bargains, there's always at least one Thursday out of the month where they have really good bargains for certain items. Most of the employees also seem to know what they're talking about. I know I've gotten a couple of beer and wine recommendations that I still continue to purchase. read more

The people that work here are extremely helpful. I recently ordered a large birthday cake from the bakery and an artisan cheese platter and fruit platter from the deli. All three were beautiful and the prices were reasonable. Especially the cheese platter- $40 for a beautiful platter for 16 people. I've put my own cheese platters together before and they were more expensive and they weren't as pretty. Got compliments on everything and I was extremely happy. This is one of the nicest grocery stores I have ever stepped foot in. Seriously beautiful. Great fresh produce, flowers are gorgeous. Aisles are always clean and stocked well. Customer service is excellent. Personally, I don't really agree with comments about high prices. The prices are typical of this quality of grocer. This is a supermarket I have grown accustomed to. There are Ralphs Club deals which help with grocery costs as long as you are a seasonal shopper. The produce is fresh for the most part. The deli is stocked with cooked and prepared foods as well as a selection of sushi, cali rolls, and salads. I actually do not care for their family subs as I am used to another supermarket piling on a pound of deli meat and cheese for a much better price. The staff are friendly for the most part. This location is convenient for me to stop on the way home. You can earn gas and green bag discounts also although I am unsure about the process of redeeming the points. read more

Hello, I went to our Ralph's in Canyon Crest, Riverside. I was looking for orange curling ribbon for Halloween. A little this year due to a wisdom tooth pulled YUK Walked into the Ralphs looking for orange ribbon. Of course, none. Well, I decided to walk over to the flower area and saw this man arranging the flowers. I asked him if had any orange ribbon. As he was looking I happen to look across the area and I saw some orange ribbon. Not very much was left on the spool. He got it for me and I said how much. He said nothing. He saw I was in pain with this darn tooth. He said it wasn't worth charging since their wasn't hardly anything left on the spool. His name is Greg. Very, very nice man and so kind. This Ralphs Bakery Makes the best Cakes and Cupcakes to order. my family and i have been ordering our birthday cakes and cupcakes for several years now and not once do i remember having an issue with the taste or the decor. i must say that i always have different preferences for my decoration for the cakes depending on the occasion and 99.9% of the time they do the best work. The taste of the cake is even more wonderful. I get asked by my guests where i get my cakes. i must mention that Stacie the manager is so sweet and provides one of the best customer service experiences one can ask for. STARVING LIVE LOBSTERS in the meat department. Ralphs has a policy to NOT FEED the lobsters until they are either sold or die. The butchers put a drop of protein in the water that does nothing to prevent starvation. You ask why? Because if the Lobsters eat then they POOP. And if they POOP then Ralphs has to pay to clean the tanks. Most other grocery stores have removed their live lobster tanks. AVOID this store. read more

This Ralphs is open until 1am which makes it great for late-night snacking! 5/6/17 I went in at around 12:30am to be pleasantly surprised by how nice the checkout staff was! The only complaint I have is at night when they restock their shelves... They lay out all their food on the floors which is a major tripping hazard and not only that, I hate to see the food I want to purchase laying on the floor in every aisle. read more

I always shop at this Ralph's because Its convenient. However, today I had an encounter where the cashier was slightly unpleasant. I was purchasing alcohol and the cashier gave me a sour face and said you didn't ask anyone and just got in line? Her tone was unpleasant but what bothered me was the next customer whom she recognized and began to talk to before I was even done. Her friend was rude as well and shoved me twice so she could put down her items,keep in mind the half of the conveyor belt was free, she intentionally did so as i replied ma'am excuse you, while the cashier acted like it was in her favor. This Ralphs has some of the best meat. The area it is in is great as well. With a recent injury of my foot, I decided to try their on-line grocery shopping for pick up. WOW!!! Best experience ever. I ordered and paid on line. Picking up the order was a breeze. Make sure you have your phone with you to let them know when you arrive, then prepare yourself to meet the nicest Ralphs' employees who will bring your bagged groceries out to your car. worker Paul Ryan was very rude to me as I was trying to buy a bouquet of flowers. Followed me around endlessly and when I went to check out confronted and yelled at me in front of all the customers that I was stealing. My crime was taking more than one of the decorative flags they had that came with the flowers. The store was empty and I felt scared. I love Ralph's but this incident left me scared. Angrily Screaming at loyal customers and forcing them to leave ostracized is no way to deal with them, even if they did make a mistake. read more

This is in line with Pat S's recent experience because the item appears in the center of the listing of items on my receipt. How can that happen when the item wasn't on the conveyer belt? When I am in Riverside at UCR for projects I like the easy access from the campus to this market a few blocks away. I noticed it feels different. The workers looked stressed in some departments from other locations I visit in Los Angeles area. Possibly understaffed? Not sure. I see the manager I would see running the register with his great smile is no longer there. He was always friendly and greeted everybody with a sincere smile not a fake one. Saw a lady manager not looking the most pleasant. I guess you call a painted on smile. Not a positive interaction with customers. The location is busy and seems not enough staff. I been shopping here from years and love I see many familiar faces each school season. I want to have enjoyable shopping experience. Healthy experiences start from top down. Went to this store for some groceries and noticed one of their refrigeration units were not functioning, so I sought an employee and ran into Paul the store manager. He was talking to another customer, so I waited patiently. After a few moments he started talking about how, after work he goes working out and swimming. Obviously not work related I basically motioned that I need help. He looked at me with disgust and said "what?" I told him that a regrigerating unit with perishables was not functioning and he just said "okay" and turned his head and continued his conversation with the customer. Seems like corporate or up0er management need a to reevaluate who is managing this store, considering he could give 2 feces about perishing food items in the midst of flirting with a customer. I'll also be reporting this to corporate. I was in the store a total 30 minutes and he did not move from that same spot the whole time I was there. The store is clean and well stocked but in their most recent remodel have started stocking more of their store brands and less of my favorites. The deli is ALWAYS an issue... more people behind the glass inclosure , staring at you or stocking coolers than waiting on customers and their platter choices have dwindled. I have always loved this store but lately my feelings have changed. I live right across the street from the new Stater Brothers but still drive to Ralph's. Well not anymore as they seem to not have a lot of items anymore and service has gone way down hill. Yesterday I asked the produce guy if they had bean sprouts and his response was, "Ralph's doesn't carry bean sprouts and hasn't for years now". It was his condescending voice that I didn't appreciate. While I was there I also noticed more items are no longer in stock. My roommate and I moved to canyon crest about two years ago. The first maybe two or three months we didn't even have a fridge, so I was forced to buy food by the meal (2-3 trips a day) at this location. Even after we bought a fridge I still go there at least once a day. I say this to paint a picture of how frequent I shop here. Now I will add this: 1) all though the cashiers are the ones who faithfully see me everyday, the only people nice towards me are those in the butcher station and about a small number of employees I can count on one hand MAYBE two 2) some employees in the checkout area are extremely rude. Mainly the ones who seem to be "in charge" of self check out or the other cashiers. There is a blonde older woman usually in this area who is very dismissive and off putting. Once I asked her for assistance and she screamed past me for another cashier to help even though she was available and the one she screamed at was not. Another time I asked for a roll of quarters and she says "you have $10??" Although the money was visibly in my hand and instead of exchanging it politely she sits the roll of quarters down for me to pick up. There is an older Hispanic gentleman who speaks condescendingly in the same area and random altercations with other cashiers who one day they are nice and the next they are very short and give a vibe as if you're burdening them. One day an elderly African American woman needed help in self checkout and an employee simply cleared her screen and continued with talking to other employees instead of actually coming over to see what she needed. I had to help her myself! In the deli area I have the same issue with rudeness at times. As I mentioned, we started out without a fridge. I would buy cheeses by the slice in this area because I would have no where to keep my cheese or meats fresh. 9/10 if I asked an employee for something by number of slices, they would change their tone or sometimes I'd hear them mumble things under their breath. I was not trying to be annoying, I just was trying to shop smart. I work during the day and don't get off until 11:30 most nights so a plus is that this location is open until 1/(1:30?) but fair warning: the employees you encounter at night are ready to go home and will make it apparent. Very rude service but will turn around and joke with coworkers. Don't work that shift if you're gonna be dicks! No one is in the wrong for shopping at place that's still open! I say this in the hopes that management or the employees look at this page and realize that the tone you have with customers or CERTAIN customers is definitely obvious and noted. It is disheartening that this is my local grocery store as I do not feel welcomed here even after spending so much money with this business EVERYDAY, but taking a bus to the next nearest is truly inconvenient. There are a few employees in the checkout area and usually the entire butcher station who are very nice and helpful! The rest, rid yourself of them to improve your business! read more

Okay, for y'alls who think that Ralph's is expensive, (hence the 3 $$$ signs) it's really not that bad. Believe me, I'm a college student living on a budget and I can't afford to buy filet mignon and lobster as much as I wish I could. I spend maybe $50-$60 whenever I come and that's enough food for 2 weeks. 2 weeks include breakfast, lunch, dinner AND snacks. No, I do not eat cup of noodles, ramen, and canned food ever. That money gets me my fruits and greens, meats, milk, eggs, and all the extras. Btw, get a Ralph's card... it knocks off anywhere from 10-20% of the actual cost. I love that they almost always have food that is nice and FRESH, especially for someone that buys a majority of stuff that needs to be fridged and kept somewhere cold. Secondly, I love that it's in a nice area. Sure I could go to Stater Bros or Food for Less but I normally only have time to pick up groceries in the later part of the evening and it's nice to get of my car without feeling sketched out. This Ralph's is also opened relatively late so it's nice to grab food just about at any hour after a long day of classes/work. So the MAIN REASON I finally wrote a review after shopping there for over a year is because of this story... I was shopping there last night to pick up ingredients for my chicken pesto panini. I was tired of eating pasta and sandwiches and rice with whatever poultry so I wanted something new. Something new and exciting. Chicken pesto panini is pretty exciting, right? Anyways I was wandering up the aisles in search of my favorite Classico Basil Pesto sauce. As I approached the aisle filled with delicious pre-made sauces my heart begins to race as I don't see my all-time fav. My heart drops as I see the price tag of "2.99 Class Basil Pesto" and nothing behind it. I jump up (the-not-to-be-seen sauce was on the top shelf). I hurriedly walk to the front and ask one of the employees about it. She walks me back to the same aisle and of course, no pesto. Another employee comes who apparently knows the section better leads me to a different type of pesto that is in the fridge section. I shake my head seeing the price tag of over $6 and she asks me which one I normally buy. I show her the one that I would normally purchase in the aisle over and she tells me that she would match the price of $2.99 for the $6 gourmet pesto. How awesome is that?! After a long and tiring day I thought I would never see pesto again. But thanks to Juanita, I was still able to get a "better" pesto for the same price! Thank you Ralph's and Juanita for taking care of your customers! You can be assured that I will be back!! P.S. Just prepared and ate my chicken pesto panini today and it was delish. :D read more

I'm so impressed! I usually go here and think nothing of it, but today I was stunned by some information. I went to go grab some blueberries because they were on sale, but I noticed that there were absolutely none left. Just to make sure that my trip wasn't completely a waste, I decided to ask someone who worked in produce if there were anymore left. A nice man by the name of Tommy told me that the blueberries that they received in shipment today were of bad quality therefore they sent them all back. As a result, they're compensating the on sale blueberries with the organic value pack blueberries, which I thought was really nice of them. Because the deal was 2 small packs for $3 but the pack that was used to compensate equates to 3 packs. In addition, the workers here are always extremely helpful every time I come here to buy groceries. I have never felt turned away from any of the employees that I have asked for help. In fact, often times I am asked if I need any assistance and greeted by the employees here, which I feel like doesn't happen too often at grocery stores. They typically mind their own business and do their own job. read more

Yes this is a clean store with great customer service, but that's about it. Its close to where I live so I stop by every now and then. That being said, the selection leaves much to be desired. They try to do it all, carrying local produce, some organic stuff, and some discount items, but in the end, if you are looking specifically for any of those groups of foods, you'll have to go somewhere else to pick up what Ralph's didn't have. Also, if it's not in that discount item group I mentioned, its going to cost more than anywhere else. It's great to have this store so close in a pinch, but I'd never do my regular shopping here. read more

Other than the overpriced groceries, the checkout lady working the express aisle tonight was extremely rude. The machine wouldn't allow me to swipe my card as credit, even though it works everywhere else I shop. She was very rude in just saying "well the machine just won't allow it", and proceeded to call her manager over from the next aisle. That old meathead just said the same thing and gave no explanation, with a very rude deameanor. Very offputting and overall strange experience. Will not be returning anytime soon... read more

I used to shop here becuase: - It was close to where I lived - The store was clean - The deli was awesome So, why the 2-star rating?: - I purcahsed expired items and spoiled meat/fish too many times. It was ridiculous. When I returned the items, the manager would handle it quickly. But, when you get home and are ready to cook, sometimes it is a pain to have to go back. I wasted lots of money becuase of this! I find this completely unacceptable that they would keep expired food and spoiled meat/fish on their shelves. Once is understandable, but this happened to me 3x for expired items, 1x for spoiled flap meat, and 2x for spoiled salmon. - The fruits are horrible. No taste or juiciness at all. - The prices are a little on the high side. Other things to note: - They renovated this place within the past year or so and it looks even better than it used to. read more

I have been shopping at Ralphs in the Canyon Crest shopping center for over 20 years and I seldom write a review about any commercial enterprise but in checking my receipt today I discovered that I was billed for an item I didn't purchase. This is the second time in as many weeks that this has occurred. The first time I just ignored it. One can understand a simple mistake but given today's technology how does a scannable item like salad dressing appear on one's receipt unless it has either been scanned or manually entered? Since the undesired item was never in proximity of my order on both occasions and since the item in both instances appeared toward the middle of the order, one can only conclude that the error was not a mistake but a deliberate manual entry to collect unearned revenue. Lesson learned. At Ralphs in Canyon Crest, always check your receipts.And if the same happens to you, make sure you not only bring this to the attention of management but write a review to share your experience. read more

We have frequented this store since 2017 without any issues until tonight, November 23rd, 2019. We happen to be American black citizens and my daughter and I were looking for holiday tin with butter cookies. We purchased deli items and tea and were walking through the store normally with the intent to "purchase food" like most customers do right? Suddenly, as we were looking for a few Thanksgiving items, 4 male workers literally circled us specifically and asked us if we were finding everything ok. If it was one person,I might have considered it a kind gesture. But because it was four to five, it was very extreme and made us feel uncomfortable to the point where the surrounding gave my daughter anxiety. When a person is singled out like that, it can be defined as discriminatory. And, since we are a protected class, this can lead to Ralph's being sued for harassment or even racial discrimination. When I called to remind the manager that we shouldn't have been treated in this way, he, a Mr. Meyer, stated rudely that "I am sorry we tried to help you." Now, why does it take that many workers to help two people? I warned him that it better not happen again or they will get sued. He then responded by saying "you can do whatever you want with your life. I don't have time for this." Then he hung up. American black citizens, if this happens to you, contact the California State Attorney General's office and consider it a harassment complaint, not discrimination because the State will send you down a complaint path to nowhere and you need a basic resolve so that you can do the basics which is "shop for groceries". If this store receives enough complaints, they will be careful to change their ways. It is disappointing to see that this behavior is "Still" taking place in 2019. But, our presence and existence is the only thing that will cause change in California. read more

It tries to look like a higher-end grocery store, but when you actually look at the cheese, meat, fish, nut selection, there's not a lot of depth there. Farm-raised salmon.
