Always enjoy coming to Ralphs and I usually come for the seafood. I enjoy that I can find lobsters anytime I visit. This time I got two lobster tails and dill for a refreshing meal. I waited 10 minutes at the deli counter with no one helping me. There were 3 people behind the counter (packing stuff) but not helping the customer. When I finally gave-up and went to the check-out line, then someone approached me stating "oh, did you need help at the deli counter"?? I stated to this person that "it's too late for that"!!! I've reported very bad encounters with Ralph's personnel, but obviously nothing has been done to correct this conduct. I'll go elsewhere from this point on. I hope others will follow suit read more

I stopped in for convenience sake as I usually don't shop here. I picked up a few items as it was between where I was and where I was going. Found my items (also ground pork and beef combo?) headed to check out with the plastic bags I brought. I checked out and collected my purchases and walked out of the store without my wallet, receipt or phone. I didn't realize until I got to where I was going! Fortunately great people like Tyler W kept it to an old man's inconvenience of having to drive back and the tragedy losing all of that could have been. I returned to the front of her line, we made eye contact as she continued to help her current customer, she nodded and pulled my things from her drawer. Smooth as can be. This is a regular Ralphs with a Fresh Fare tag. Very small aisles and terrible selection of items. Fresh Fares in Los Angeles will have you lost looking at amazing products they don't carry in a regular Ralphs. I expected better because of the location. read more

The lady with the glasses at self check out is wonderful but I got a super rude cashier she when I went up to try my card again because my bank had problems that day. She needs to work on her attitude because she didn't even greet me and just gave me a dirty look when it didn't work. Work on your skills because you should not be working with the public if you're going to be like that. It was super off putting and I didn't appreciate the way it made me feel. read more

Store was in absolute disarray at 6:30 pm today. Restrooms were a mess, trash in the aisles, half the self serve checkout closed causing extremely long lines in both the few checkout lanes open and the other self serve checkout, etc. This isn't usually the case but whomever is in charge today probably ought to step aside and let someone else take over. read more

I am so upset at the lady that works in bakery. I did not get her name because I left the store in tears but she's older and has an accent. I went in to ask for a gender reveal cake and told her explicitly I did not know the gender and did not want to know. I had an email and asked her to look at it and again told her I did not want to know the gender but whatever it was to put inside the cake either blue or pink. I must have told her at least 5x. Right when she looked at the email she blurted out the gender. I told her again that I did not want to know and she just laughed and said oops. That moment was supposed to be for me and my fiancé. She ruined a moment that was supposed to be beautiful and turned it into a moment of frustration and tears. read more

Updating with (hopefully) more thoughtfulness and less forced snark. I'm conflicted about this Ralph's. On one hand, you have the staff here, which is flat out fantastic. I'm terrible at remembering names, so I can't credit anyone specific. But I always feel welcome when I check out here, thanks to the friendliness of the staff. But on the other hand, you have the looming elephant in the room: Prices. It used to be Ralph's was the place to go to get the best prices. Now, other places flat-out have it beat. Sticking a "locked in low price" sticker on an item doesn't change the fact that the exact same item is 25% cheaper at Target or Winco. I know, inflation is a thing. But the prices here have gone up much more than they have at other stores in the area. I often find myself saying "This just isn't worth it. It's cheaper elsewhere". Is it fair to deduct stars from a store for things the individual store has no control over? Perhaps not. But in the end what the rating comes down to is "do I shop here or do I shop somewhere else?". And I've been shopping at this Ralph's less and less often due to the issues mentioned above. read more

The staff here are terrible. They barley speak to you and eye contact isn't gonna happen. I'm not saying this for the entire staff because I haven't interacted with them all. But the ones that I've had contact with seem like they don't like their jobs. I asked the guys in the fruit section if they would be making more chocolate covered strawberry's for mothers day. George at the deli was so helpful and friendly! He was very outgoing and gave me great advice picking out my chicken salad! which was very delicious! he even gave me a sample of a pasta salad i ended up buying as well! Nominally speaking, it's difficult to review an entire grocery store in a single review. But since I've been going here for ten years, and have in fact lived here long enough to remember the movie theater that existed where the clocktower stands. Back when this physical location was still an Alpha-Beta grocery store. I have lived right around here for nearly forty years, but man I am done going to this particular Ralph's. Let me start with the few positives: Nathan is the best human being I have perhaps met in the last two decades. If you are fortunate enough to see him, get in his line. Or if you just see him, say "Hi." Nathan rules. Baller cheese counter. Get that house made gouda cheese dip. Can actually get never-frozen salmon at the seafood counter. That matters deeply to me as a cook. Shame I won't be getting those fillet steaks anymore! They made amazing salmon jerky. Those things warrant enough grace to not make this a raging one-star review. But still, it burns on! The cons? Narrow areas to get in lanes that feel like driving around south central during a car show at midnight. And for about the last month in a row, increasingly-bitter attitudes from every checkstand worker I've encountered. Namely today. Sal? I dunno what your problem is, but you can keep that hostility you've shown me and my wife for the last 3 years and sit on it. I'll just get my beer for cheaper over at Rite-Aid across the street and hop on down to Stater Bros for protein and produce. Oh also the sushi counter is pretty dope. Called the deli dept and no one answered the phone. The phone rang over and over again. I got tired of waiting so I drove from Rialto to this location and was on the phone the entire time trying to get in contact with someone. Asked the deli clerk to call a manager over and the front end manager came to assist. Stop cutting labor to your store so you can properly staff your departments. Enough with the company greed. One clerk in the deli all by herself. Kudos to the front end manager for taking care of the situation and deli clerk remaining positive regardless being short handed. Won't return. In town visiting a friend so I don't shop here regularly. Parking was ok. Store layout is ok. Prices are decent, People are helpful. Unfortunately my 1 star rating is due to finding expired yogurt on sale in the display. Thankfully I saw it and grabbed a non expired one!!! This place used to be pretty good. They try to carry nicer products than an average grocery store, but the food is just too overpriced in recent years, and out of stock items have become way too common all while customer service has gotten much worse. Grocery stores live and die by their employees, and I honestly feel the corporate management running this Ralph's has forgotten that. The fact of the matter is there just is not enough staff at this store. That is not an issue of any one employee, that is a management issue. If you can't hire enough people to staff your store, then increase pay. If you can't afford to increase pay to properly staff your store, then you don't deserve to stay in business. You can tell that every employee is overworked and doing a million jobs at once when you come in, and the customer experience is hurt for it. Deli specifically is so understaffed. Deli department is a hard and demanding job, so management has to do better to incentivize people to work the Deli counter plain and simple. There are also not enough Grocery clerks corraling carts and bagging groceries which is going to serious hurt the overall customer experience. The products are good (if they're not out of stock) and the employees who are still sticking around are saints, but there's a serious management problem. read more

This Ralph's grocery store is located in the Canyon Crest Towne Centre and it is one of my favorite Ralph's stores. The other one is in Downtown Palm Springs. Anyway, the service is mostly great at this location. From the cashiers to the guy at the Meat & Seafood Department. The store is always clean and they have a large selection of fresh flowers. My favorite! Some days you'll even catch the sushi guy making fresh sushi here. The only reason I have to give this place just 3 stars is due to my last two visits. Both times, the baggers (young teens) carelessly bagged my groceries. The first bagger (male) just did not bag the the food correctly. He bagged my veggies with non-food items. That was minor and forgivable since it happened just once. He was a nice guy though. He just didn't know how to properly bag items. However, during my last visit (last week), a young, chunky and talkative lady straight up shoved -- yes, shoved -- my delicately picked herbs with raw chicken. Major eye roll moment for sure! Yes, she was nice and talkative but she SHOVED the herbs into the grocery bag! What made me upset was that she even asked whether I wanted the chicken separate from everything and I said, "yes, please separate the chicken." To not do that AND shove the herbs was just annoying. Regardless of the rating, I still would come here because it's close to home but I wish management would teach these baggers some common sense or etiquette when it comes to handling other people's groceries. Visited the store on 3-18-20 (2:45pm) and was completely ignored by 4 associates that were behind the behind the bakery counter. I stood 6 mins while 2 employees walked passed me, going from behind the counter to the front to stock, no one asked me if I needed hp or had been helped. One of the employees even seemed to be eorger a department head or maybe a manager or supervisor because she was dressed in regular clothing. She makes a joke about being a "label hog", but doesnt aplogize for ignoring me and keeping me waiting. read more

One star for being open 1 hr earlier than the competition. Negative 4 stars for lack of customer service. Woke up early this morning. Wife loves her eggs and I love her. We were out of eggs so I began my hunt. Found this store several miles from my home. It was about to open at 5am where others would not open until 6am. I was in my sweat pants and slippers. Veterans Day had recently passed, so I covered with my ball cap signifying my participation in Operation Desert Storm and headed out. Store was a wreck but I'd expect that night crew would still be stocking shelves at 5am. Went for the eggs, milled around for a while looking for them. Finally had to ask and one of the night stockers pointed toward an end cap half way down the store. Eureka! I found them. I picked up a few supporting items along the way, creamer, sugar substitute, coffee and since she really likes her eggs, I decided to pick up 2 of the 18 packs. Probably should have got a basket but I don't think I'd have got through the isles with anything on wheels. With my arms fully loaded, I headed to the register. Self check out fully lit (eff that! It takes me longer to figure those out than to just wait in line)...and there was no line at the only full service with a light on. So, like a moth to a flame, I proceeded to the only lit conveyor. The light was on, but no one was there. ( in hindsight, this is the perfect metaphor for service at this store)..I asked a clerk at the next register if anyone was working and he said "uh no, only self check out "....Uggh! Seriously? I have to check myself out? What's next, I'll need to stock shelves before I'm allowed the privilege of handing you my money? So, with my arms completely loaded, I stumble over the self check out for a beginners lesson on how to use their equipment. There is another clerk there jawjacking with a customer at checkout, watching me with my confused look in trying to figure out which of the self check out was working and which was not and also how I was going to set down an armful of products including eggs, without dropping them. Clerk sees my look of confusion and points to one of the machines in the middle and says "right here bro"...No offer to help a struggling vet but hey, I'm a man, I'll manage. Then the clerk went back to jawjacking with the other guy about sports or something...whatever! (The whole time I'm thinking, if it's just me and one other guy here, why can't you do what you are trained to do and check me out? Why do I have to learn this while your shoot the crap with your buddy?) Now I just had to go through the learning process of figuring out how to run a self check machine. It's not rocket science, I'll eventually figure it out. But I don't play video games and this just seems like a new video game to me. It's got Pictures, codes, ...I just need an Avatar...click left two times, click right, tap tap tap...power burst and boom, I reached the next level!! I think what might be the saddest part for me is that I used to work as a clerk in this very store in the late 80's. Back then, we prided ourselves in customer service. We had contests between clerks as to who could service faster..Better!..Never would we have let a shopper mill around with asking them if we could help...Never would we allow a customer to do our work unless they insisted. Never would we just point to an area and say "over here bro" Service today is just sad. And for the clerks at the store who may be reading this, think about the value you have to the public in your next labor dispute. I may have supported you in the past, but next time you strike, I'm going to point to that self check out and say, "I got this bro!" read more

8/10/24 I have been shopping at Ralph's in the canyon crest Towne Centre for over 25 years. I have always been happy with my shopping experience until the last 6 months. It seems as though they have doubled the number of self checkouts, thereby cutting down on the number of checkers.saving money. The remaining checkers appear to be new. Many times there is only one regular check stand.open. When I was there yesterday and today, there were 7 to 8 people standing in line down the frozen food aisle. Everyone was frustrated. I keep looking around for someone who might be a manager (like I used to see), but I never see one. I have also found there are times when there are no carts, So I had to wait for a shopper to come out, and use theirs.It is such a shame that what was once a beautiful store to deterorate to this condition. read more

WHATCHU KNOW BOUT RALPHS? hands down best grocery store in north riverside/University area.The vibes of this store is always on point. It's a pretty well kept Ralph's in the better part of town. So most of the employees are also stuck up and think their better than you. Asked for help and never recieved it. Waited in checkout line for 10 minutes before they came up to me and said lane was closing and I needed to use self checkout. I don't use self checkout and do their work for them so I left my pretty full basket there and went to Stater Bros and reshopped. Got yelled at for it by employee as I left. read more

I prefer to go here instead of stater brothers and food-4-less because I more often than not feel like there are better deals here. They also have more healthy options available and there are plenty of nice businesses that have set up shop around here. Overall, if I lived closer to this supermarket I would have made it into my place to go. read more
