I just bought a four pack of Stella Rosa. When I got to my car I realized that the price was off by $10. It was on the shelf and they had missed labeled the price. When I got to my car I noticed a mistake. I went back in to get a refund and they would not take it back. I literally had left the store for two minutes and they would not take it back due to COVID-19 restrictions. That is some poor customer service right there. Just went in to get some steaks for Mother's Day. Sat in line at the butcher til I was the last person in line and as the butcher is finishing with the guy in front of me, some asshole behind me yells out "is there anymore rib eyes in the back". The butcher ignores me and goes and checks. He comes out with 3 in a package, walks around the counter and hands them to the guy and says something quiet that I couldnt hear. He walks back around the counter and asks me what I want and I ask if there is any more rib eyes left. He says no, those were the last ones. I ask what was the point of me standing in line if you are going to help people behind me and he sits there looking stupid at me, no apology, no suggestions, nothing. The dick that took the last steaks hauls ass and now im shit out of luck on Mother's Day steak dinner. That is piss poor service. Someone needs to demote that guy until he learns basic customer service skills and how they work at his position. So when does a butcher actually work at this store? Five times now that I've stood at the meat counter ringing the bell for nobody to come and I end up walking around trying to find someone to help me just to be told there is not butcher there and nobody else can cut meat. If your sign says meet department open till 8pm, and has signs everywhere that say "we cut to order" then you should probably have a butcher there more often because I've been shopping here for a year now and never once has there been anyone available to cut my order. Just went in on 4/18 to send money through Western Union. The "manager", who gave his name as Chris Boucher, yells out to an employee who was manning the self checkout to take care of my transaction. He responded that he hasn't been trained on the procedure yet. Chris rattles off 2-3 more names, and the employee tells his boss that they're not working that day. So, the response I get? "Sorry, there's nothing I can do.". Excuse me? You're the manager of the store and you don't have anyone there who knows how to do conduct a WU transaction? You're a manager and you don't even know how to do it yourself? Completely unacceptable. And it's not the first time that this work of fiction has been told. I asked for the name of Chris' boss. He refused to give it to me. As I left, a very sarcastic "Have a nice day" comes from the mouth of this punk. I ended up going out of my way to the store in Foothill Ranch and was done in 5 minutes. This jerk has no business being in any position of authority, whether it's over personnel or the store. I go to this store only because it's the nearest one and I'm often lazy after work. But after last night, I'm wondering if it's worth driving an extra 5 minutes to Stater Bro's or going to the Ralph's near work. In the past, I've found rotting vegetables on their shelves and had to point out to the staff that all their hot house cucumbers are actually moldy, yellowed and mushy under the shrink-wrap. However, all that has been somewhat forgiveable as I just avoid those rotten veggies. Fast forward to my visit last night, at around 10:20pm. I was there to get a few last minute items for my dinner party tonight. I noted that it was sort of busy for that time of day and that there was only one cashier. So I walked over to the self-checkout machines which I use on a regular basis. Attempts to use my own shopping bags were thwarted as the machine was not cooperating and kept telling me to remove the last item. (I have used my own bag before and store employees have told me how.) Finally, I guess the sole cashier from 3-4 aisles away yelled out "Ma'am, it's your purse!!" which caused me great embarassment as everyone turned to look at me like I was an idiot. I started to say that I was just trying to use my own bag when she said again that it was my purse. I threw in the towel. I proceeded to checkout without bagging my items with the intention of bagging everything in my own bag after I've paid. Everything went smoothly until for some inexplicable reason, my 12-pack of Diet Shasta set off the "Please wait for someone to assist you." message. So I stood there, stuck...subject to the mercy of the sole cashier who by now was just trying to answer some random lady's question and who wasn't even buy anything. Oh it gets worse. She finally finishes her monologue and musings and strolls over to me. She gets rid of the message first and then reiterates - "It was your purse, ma'am. Earlier." Me: "NO, actually, I was trying to use my own shopping bag. My purse was actually in my shopping cart." Her: "But I saw your purse....anyway...if it was your shopping bag, it would have asked you if you were using your own bag." Me: "Well it didn't." Her: "Oh...ok." At this point, I was fuming so I quickly took note of her name and got out of there before I seek retaliation for her implying that I was either a liar or an idiot. Grrr!!! This store has always been dirty and has had extremely poor customer service any time I've had to go there to pick anything up. The stock there looks like its been there for months and the floor is always dirty. ANYTIME you ask a worker or manager if they have an item, they automatically say they don't (even though we've found items after taking our own time to look around, basically doing their job.). Today, however my daughter was short money when rung up and the cashier "Gina" was NOTHING but RUDE to her.... The cashier made a scene and said she would put in her own money (stating this very loudly to the point that shoppers in other lines were looking, basically making a spectacle of my daughter. My daughter said she just wanted to put some items back, but the cashier made it out to be a bother, complaining that " it's not that easy, I have to ring in the Gatorade separately".....She purposely embarrassed her literally to tears. The older woman who was bagging, Rose, offered to walk my daughter to her car because she was so upset and a "manager" Derek stepped in to ask the cashier if she "needed a break" because of the scene she was making. Later on this afternoon, My husband and I went up to the store to complain to the store manager. The rude cashier was watching as we complained. End result? The manager Derek looked us right in the eye and LIED- said he didn't know about any situation. The "store manager" Chris Boucher offer NO APOLOGY and neither did the RUDE cashier. As a matter of fact the weaselly "store manager" only said "you did nothing wrong" to the rude cashier repeated. I told him I was going to complain to corporate and his response was "go ahead". NEVER will we shop at Ralph EVER again! I did call corporate and was offered a $30 gift card. I declined and asked for the matter to be escalated as I've never been treated that way in the store. This store likes to play games with their prices. The Honey crisp apples are always the most expensive in town @ $2.99 pound. Monday I stopped In to buy some apples and noticed the Honey Crisps had no price on them. I asked the produce guy if he could bring his price check gun over to get me a price. $3.99 a pound he said. I said you raised the price a dollar a pound no wonder you're not advertising the price. He kind of chuckled and walked away. Today is Wednesday and I went back and checked to see if there was a price on them yet. Nope! Every other Apple in the store had pricing clearly labeled but the honey crisps remained unmarked. I dont usually shop at this Ralphs... but I decided to stop last night on my way home from work - I needed a LOT of gift cards for a company party, and decided I might as well try while Im in a nice calm mood :) This store has a LARGE selection of gift cards to choose from, and I went up to the Service Desk before I picked them out - and spoke with Lucia. I wanted to make sure they would allow me to purchase 40 gift cards, and that they would be able to help me out. She said absolutely so I went to pick out what I wanted. I went back to the Service Desk and she went to a closed register and rang me up. I did three separate transactions and she bagged them all separate, she was awesome. The third transaction alerted the security department of Amex so I had to call and get it cleared, and she was extremely patient and very friendly and helpful! read more

I bought ten cans of cat food, two half gallons of sugar free frozen yogurt, bananas, apples, eight Lean Cuisine frozen dinners, soy milk, honey raisin bran mini muffins, lactose free butter. The store was clean, and was a little busy. The cashier was nice and friendly, and bagged the food for me. That store closes at 12:00 am I go there at night to beat the day crowed. Overall, this isn't a bad store. I enjoy the late hours. I love the wide aisles. Wide aisles mean hassle free shopping. You shop on that side and I'll shop on this side. No need to bump carts or say "excuse me." I can reach around you and grab what I want because usually when you come to a grocery store, you're not there to stay long and chat. You want to grab what you need and leave. If I wanted to chat, I'd shop where they served some food and drinks but this just isn't the case. The store is clean and organized. Ads run up and down the aisles and it's hard to miss a sale. Customer service was friendly and they're quick to open lanes when needed. I was able to grab my skim milk sharp cheddar cheese slices, my 2% gallon of milk, corn tortillas, and Gatorade and save about $5 due to Ralph's Rewards and walk out spending $12. I only spent about 20 minutes on this task. You just gotta love that. read more

It was a typical rush hour at ralphs and I only have a few items because I don't like to go through self-checkout because it constantly messes up and tells me that an attendant is coming. Well, she looks at me and tells me to go to self-checkout and calls a bagger a bagger, who keep in mind is trying to help bag during this rush, to check me out on self-checkout. She doesn't even ask me if I would like to go over there, she just demands that I do. That was extremely rude, she basically kicked me out of the line. My boyfriend and I went to this Ralphs on the night of Friday, April 5th to get some alcohol and mixers because we were visiting a friend and wanted to take some drinks to contribute. The store is very nicely laid out and clean. However, the customer service is downright despicable. We had the marvelous privilege of dealing with a cashier named Helen C. She was downright rude and put a damper on our moods. My boyfriend, who is a Ralph's employee in Irvine, started to hand Helen his identification and employee Ralph's card. Afterall, this is an alcohol sale and identification is required. Helen snapped without hesitation, "I don't want that, you scan it yourself!". This was clearly in recognition of the Ralphs discount card. Quite simply, the biting attitude was entirely uncalled for. Without a word, my boyfriend scanned the card himself and again tried to offer Helen his identification for the alcohol. She snatched it out of his hand and then in dramatic fashion eyed the card, front and back, then eyed my boyfriend and I up and down in entirely uncomfortable fashion while mumbling incoherently under her breath. Her deafly rude silence and evil glare was more than enough to express what a miserable person she must be. It was entirely uncalled for. After being satisfied with the identification, she wouldn't even hand it back politely. She slammed it down on the small customer counter space and wouldn't make eye contact. We remained trying to be friendly and wished her a good night. Afterall, we have no idea if she was having a bad day or going through rough times, so perhaps remaining polite could help ease whatever she was going through. Not at all. It made no difference. Upon wishing her a good night, she would not even respond to us. She turned her back and in a complete 180 and as she recognized the next customer in line, became an entirely different character. She actually acted excited to see these customers and was putting on a friendly front. It was complete BS!!! I was at a loss for words. We stood there for a split second, gathering our items. I almost wanted to say something then and there. But, did not. I simply tried to remind myself that perhaps she was having a bad day and perhaps she was friends with these new customers and they were able to lighten her mood. I gave her the benefit of the doubt.... But, upon reaching our friends house, he was surprised we had stopped and gotten drinks to contribute, as he had told us we did not need to bring anything. In simple conversation, our experience with Helen came up. Without even describing what this woman looked like, he started laughing and knew EXACTLY who we were talking about. Our friend lives mere blocks from this Ralphs location and explained that he has had to deal with her for years. He claimed that the woman will sometimes speak to his mother when they are at the store together. But, anytime he has been there alone and gone through her line, he meets the biggest attitude he has ever encountered with a cashier. He went on to explain his experiences of Helen being so completely rude to him, then nice as can be to someone she obviously knows. He had a few "choice words" to describe her rude behavior! We summed it up that she must be entirely homophobic. We had no other way to explain it. But, now I come onto Yelp to share my experience and I am SHOCKED to see so many other reviews point out how evil Helen is. Seriously?! There are multiple reviews over the course of quite some timespan, from customers that have encountered Helen's bad attitude. Now, reading these reviews, I see our experience shared by many.... Whether they feel she is racist, or homophobic (as was our only explanation for her actions), etc. she obviously profiles customers and presents her hatred quite regularly. I can't find a way to rationalize this ill behavior. It is very unsettling to so the least. My boyfriend found himself very upset by the experience. Him, having worked at Ralphs for several years, is aware of how the company wants employees to interact with customers. Customers are supposed to be number one! Employees are supposed to be friendly and welcoming. Helen clearly missed this lesson in being a good employee. After having our own experience, then hearing from our friend about his experiences with Helen, then coming onto Yelp and reading plenty of other customers that have taken time to share their story about Helen, I am confused and downright appalled at why or how she manages to work for Ralphs. The company really should be ashamed to have such a rude and hateful person working for them. She gives this store location a very bad name. The women with blonde, short hair seemed to be in a bad mood. I was waiting at the only register available for her for a few min since she was across the way. Another worker made eye contact with me as she passed by and shrugged as I was waiting, not trying to help. Finally, the 1st woman comes and doesn't say anything except if I had a Ralph's card. I was already holding it and she pointed to the scanner. I tried scanning it and she pointed to the sticker and rudely said to follow directions. There was a Caucasian customer that was behind me and she was really friendly to him wtf. This is my 2nd encounter with her and she was also rude the first time. I've shopped at this Ralph's for years, I love the store itself but recently I have experienced the worse costumer service by one of their cashier, HELLEN! One thing I've noticed is that whenever she's with a Caucasian costumer she's always extra friendly, talkative, helpful, etc. But, whenever I'm next in line she won't even greet me as a costumer, she literally scans and throws my items on the counter. I have nicely and politely asked her to be more careful and she talks under her breath and rolls her eyes. It has not been 1,2,3 times but more than 5! Just nasty attitude!! Even the baggers have a more friendly attitude. I wish she could take some costumer service training from Elizabeth another cashier at the store, she goes above and beyond every time. This place is pretty decent grocery store. Be sure to have your Ralphs card ready as you will maximize your savings through using it. I've never had trouble here within the grocery store. The aisles are typically very clean and the staff are usually friendly. I've had one instance of a staff getting a bit flustered over the self-service checkout when I asked for assistance when my coupons weren't going through. She made a few comments to the machine in an exasperated tone and assured me it was the machine by saying, "Not you, the checkout machine." Other times the staff walking through the aisle, produce, or bakery section of the stores were helpful. I appreciate that I was asked if I needed a hand to my car when I forgot my reusable bags in the car. I think my biggest issue would be the solicitors at the entrance sometimes. There was one instance where there were people who would not take a single "no" for an answer. A young man blocked the pathway right outside the entrance trying to get me to stop. I'd probably recommend Ralphs keep track of who is out in the front of their entrances. And if this is something that bothers you, sometimes they are only soliciting one entry point of the store. Otherwise, the parking itself is usually plentiful and you never have to worry about the grocery store running out of carts. Just make sure you keep an eye on those rogue carts parked in parking spaces that were not put back where they belong. read more

Well I can't believe I'm actually reviewing a grocery store, but here I am! This is my go to grocery store being so close to the house. It's always clean and well stocked. Plus being a steak fanatic I love that they have Prime Rib Eye Steak!! Big plus for me. I can get it cut as big as I like too! This location had a recent makeover, although it's always nice, at first it sure makes it hard to find the things you usually buy, the good part is that when they first did their makeover, they had employees just walking around pointing you in the right direction. I really liked that. Great service! I always get a smile and people asking if they can be of service. Best part for me, they have the self check out area. Big big deal for me, I can run in, grab something and get out within minutes. Way convenient! I have never had a bad experience here and I've been coming here for years! read more

This used to be my old Ralphs. It was ok, but kinda old. And by old, I mean it still had the floor and feeling straight out of the late 70s and early 80s. It's kind of a smaller store compared to other ralphs - or rather it gives off that feeling. They don't have quite the selection of other ralphs. Some of the people here are rather nice, some however aren't that nice. Overall, you can go here if it's close, but there's better stores within a stone's throw. read more

Tried this Ralph's for some birthday shopping, couldn't find help in the bakery waited 20 minutes to get something written on a cake. No one came so I told the cashier and she asked the manager for help. He literally shooed me away to go wait by the bakery again and of course no one was there. When I when back to find the manager Hector (aka Mr Rude) he got annoyed with me for asking for help. I had already paid and went back a 3rd time where they finally were able to find someone. Wanted to take the opportunity to thank the staff at this Ralph's location. We live near the store and we consistently have positive experiences here. Selection is good, but the customer service is over the top great. I have lived all over the orange coast area for the last twenty years and I have never seen as friendly and helpful staff as this store. My wife goes in all the time with our 2 1/2 year old. Anyone who has/had a 2 1/2 year old knows how difficult shopping is with the kid. The staff is always welcoming to our son, and when I mean the staff, I mean the whole staff.
