The shelves are normally stocked , the store looks clean I would say the issue is the smug and jerky behavior of the employees that work here . They bagged my groceries great . It's near laguna woods and I'm not elderly but I'm concerned how they may treat ppl who are older than me since around here is laguna woods where most ppl prob over 55 that live around this Trader Joe's . I come here since it's on way home from work. It Seems like mostly teens or college age kids working here which is fine but they aren't friendly and not nice overall . Maybe some are here and there but it's annoyed behavior mostly like another person said on here . I think Trader Joe's employees have to ask "what are u doing this weekend?" since many do in all different locations . I didn't want to answer much due to going to something political and didn't want to talk politics since it's not an easy subject , and I'm going to a book club and some other stuff . At the end of packing the food and charging me , the checker gal said "sleep well !" Wtf it's a Friday night and not going to bed yet ! That seemed to be a condescending comment .. thinking I don't have much going on this weekend when I just felt awkward explaining what I'm doing -not her biz anyway . I asked what she's doing and she said working here . Well sounds like u have a party going on, chickie.. (yes sarcastically ) . I'm over 45 but always have stuff going on so .. really !!? Was she trying to allude to maybe a fact that I look tired ? It was a long work day and week but geez . What a weird thing to say. I feel maybe there's some ageist behavior going on here and like I said I am not elderly but older than the employees that work here for sure . I really hope they can improve this smug behavior ..it's really not cool . Two other times I came here , bad experiences . This wasn't a bad experience as much as a strange one . The other two times and I think it was same girl employee -not the checker tonight but same girl twice that gave me attitude .. I asked about a gift card and if I could use it for food I just bought because I left in car . She snapped at me when I came back with card. It was just a question.. I wasn't trying to pay with it or something since I already paid without card but I just thought it could be reimbursed since I found card ! My bad . Not a horrible question or something . I get it , u can't do that no need to be ahole about it. Not too long ago , I went in store and this employee was at cards area and stocking them I had to step around her and she hardly moved out of way . She said what are u looking for and felt she was up in my biz a bit and then I said something like well u said those cards were here and she said I didn't and it almost turned into an argument and I said let's just drop it and walked away Then I'm sure she went to tell on me with other workers . I heard her complaining and then laughing with some others I don't think I saw her there in store this time . Maybe the same smug dude who looks maybe 16 . But actually he seems nice so maybe I misjudged . Strange energy here . And not very nice energy. I usually always love Trader Joe's but these peeps are awkward and not socially cued in or kind imho . I'll try and avoid coming here but I have to go sometimes . Someone needs to talk to these young adults about their poor ppl skills just saying . Some Young adult employees were nicer during the pandemic they complemented me on my nails . I guess they have gotten jaded since then and seems like more the gals ! The customers are a bit odd too I have to say . I will be avoiding coming here most I can but sometimes can't avoid it . I miss when the store was on other side of lot near woodys diner . Who knows what's going on at this store . Be more clued in with customers and kind please geez read more

Everyone at this location always so nice ! Store is organized all the time ! Fast checkouts ! Love they have the wipes for carts !

Genuinely rude staff that don't apologize when they make simple mistakes but try to claim you said things you never said.

We were down the street and stopped at this Trader Joe's instead of going to the one closer to home. This one has a large parking lot that is shared with the REI, Pet Food Express, etc. The parking spaces seem to be closer together so it was a tight squeeze. I ended up parking on the outskirts to avoid the inevitable car dings. Inside, the layout is slightly different but all TJ's have different layouts. I do enjoy picking up essentials like groceries, nuts, and snacks. They have different floral specials here too, so it all depends on what you're looking for. We picked up some onions, potatoes, and broccolini. Service was great and we were out in a jiffy. Don't forget to bring your own grocery bags or buy one on-site. read more

Once again, wonderful fall stuff such as pumpkin bread and, you name it today's crewmember Alan very polite and courteous! Our cashier was Simon, another person, great personality, and polite, and asked " so do you have any plans for the weekend?" Trader Joe's is my go to grocery store. Not only does it have affordable options for almost everything that I need, it has interesting seasonal specialties. This Trader joe's on Avenida de la Carlotta is a spacious store with excellent selection and positive staff. It is kept pretty clean and produce I've purchased here has lasted the appropriate shelf life - some of them a little bit more. The parking lot is difficult and cramped and it is in a shopping center that may or may not be seeing a lot of construction coming up as they're trying to upgrade apartments near it. Those additional apartments have also increased the foot Traffic to this location so there are times when it has been very busy of late. Overall, this is my go to location for a Trader Joe's, and I am very happy it is near my neighborhood. read more

Really disappointed in the Trader Joe's grocery store. Store was pretty messy. They were out of so much produce. (See pics) we were going to get zucchini bundled up in a package... but date was 4 days ago and felt soft and old. Service on the few items we did get was super fast on checkout. Probably one of the worst Trader Joe's I've walked into. Facts... sorry read more

I was involved in a racial incident at this location while shopping with my two daughters. An older man targeted me with racist comments and, when confronted, escalated to verbal harassment and eventually grabbed my phone out of my hands. The most disappointing part was the reaction from the staff. When reported to the assistant manager at the manager's booth, I was met with total indifference. I was told by the other assistant manager that the staff is instructed to "stay neutral," even when a customer is being racially harassed and physically intimidated. I eventually had to call the Sheriff to file a report because the store failed to intervene. Trader Joe's claims to be a community store, but they failed to protect a member of that community from hate and harassment today. If you are looking for a store that stands up for its customers, this isn't it. read more

Things are always stocked, clean and pristine. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Service is top notch. Love coming to this TJ store.

Love Trader Joe's and I am a converted Pavilions shopper. Better prices, much friendlier service and just a better experience overall. This location is nicer than some others because the aisles seem a bit wider, the checkout experience is much faster than the one in Mission Viejo. Parking is not a problem... all good! read more

This is a great Trader Joe's! The others in town are good, too, but this one has easier parking than most, strong product quality, and usually polite service. Good produce, great frozen food, beautiful flowers, and the best price on eggs in town. We love the bags of itty bitty avocados, cold press juices, oat milk creamer, and tasty egg bites. They also have great tinned fish, cheeses, and overall snack selection. My only complaint is that sometimes at checkout they do not automatically bag for you, sometimes we have to request that they bag as they ring everything up. It's popular and can get a little messy when it's crowded, recommend going early especially on the weekends. This TJs has now become our main store! read more

I don't normally write reviews on Yelp maybe two or three times total. So for me to take my time to do this then it must be bad. Today around 2pm, Sunday July 6th I had the worst experience at this Trader Joe's 24231 Avenida de la Carlota Ste 100 Laguna Hills, CA 92653. One of their employees, a black girl maybe in her mid 20's... by the name Alicia was extremely rude and disrespectful. I was looking to buy some lentils but a majority of the cans were dented. Alicia was standing right next to me so I asked her if the dented cans were discounted like at any major grocery store they give a little discount on dented cans. When I asked Alicia she immediately gave me attitude as if I interrupted her and that she didn't want to be bothered. She had a scowl on her face, and was irritated and I didn't know why. She responded by saying "No" in a sassy tone. I mentioned that most grocery stores offer a discount on dented cans. "She said it doesn't matter anyway the food is still the same inside" in the most egregiously demeaning tone as if I was an absolute idiot for asking her such a question. However she is one hundred percent wrong. A quick google search will tell you what the health risks are of buying dented canned foods. There's risk of contamination called "Clostridium botulinum bacteria" aka Botulism, and "chemical leaching" as well. But I didn't say anything I just took it because I'm not the confrontational type. Mind you these were very deeply dented cans. Probably shouldn't even have been on the shelves. So for this rude-brat Alicia to make me feel stupid for asking was vey appauling to say the least. As if she was mad that I even asked. So I let it go how she treated me and I put the can back because it's not worth the risk anyway and proceeded to my shopping. What really put me over the edge was only moments later I over heard a conversation about me. Lo and behold it was Alicia and another female employee mocking me. Then I heard Alicia and the other girl start laughing just a couple feet away. I couldn't believe it. I approached them and said excuse me "I heard you talking about me and laughing." She knew I heard her so she admitted it because there's was no denying it. So she said "yes, I was talking about you and our interaction" in her same condescending tone again, like 'what are you going to do about it.' I got her name and I spoke with the manager. A very kind blonde woman who seemed to be genuine and concerned was at the manager desk. When I told her about the incident she said she would talk to Alicia. I couldn't really communicate my story well because I honestly was still in shock at what just happened. I guess I was still processing it. So I couldn't really convey my story very clearly and concise to her. There were also two other women there with her as well. They stayed quiet and listened as stumbled through my explanation. Regardless the manager was trying to help how she can. I told the manager that I may end up writing a Yelp review about this. She handled it very professionally. I have no complaints on that. As I walked away to go pay for my food, I was on the other side of the store looking for a short cashier line. She ran over to me to reassure me that she will speak with Alicia on the matter and that Alicia has had a bad attitude before this. Not sure if my Yelp review comment prompted that, or maybe she was concerned I would go argue with the employee (or maybe both) about how she treated me for no reason at all. But regardless that wasn't my intention, I was at the cashier area and the incident happened in a different location so Alicia wasn't near me. I do want to mention how nice the cashier (Mary) was, like almost all my interactions with Trader Joe's employees. She helped me to forget how distraught I was internally. My interactions with all 3 of these women were nice and kind demeanor towards them. I could've been irate, I could've made scene but I didn't that's not me. Everyone in the store was none the wiser. I don't care how young or immature Alicia is you don't treat people like that especially to a regular weekly patron. Completely unwarranted-inexcusable behavior. Literally shook me to the core. I don't care if Alicia sees this, I'm not embarrassed to admit it because it's the truth and it's that bad how she was. As I said I don't normally do reviews or have negative interactions with store workers regularly. If I do put it on Yelp it's to either compliment or warn other Yelpers. I think I'm going to take my business to Whole Foods, Sprouts and or Mothers instead. I will also be telling this story to my friends and family. read more

Laguna Hills, Ca. This is a good Joes. Pretty much the same experience as all the rest but parking here is a breeze. The store can be a bit crowded but not too bad. My main reason for choosing this store is some of the cashiers are super friendly and outgoing. They initiate small talk about my grocery selections and seem genuinely interested in my existence. I'm sure it helps to pass the time for them on their feet behind the register for hours on end, but I enjoy the tad of human interaction without the air of ageism. I could always go to Whole Foods and get silence from sullen unhappy employees and save about an eight mile drive I suppose. read more

Service My husband and I came in to buy wine on Friday night 10/25/24 around 6:20pm. My husband and I do not know much about wine so I asked for help. She said she knew about wine and that she would be happy to help. She was so sweet and kind. Beautiful smile and made eye contact. She gave me enough information about wine. I love coming to this Trader Joe's after they moved to this physically larger building (across the parking lot from their previous location). Even before the pandemic, I liked coming here because the store is larger than any Trader Joe's I've been to, which makes is much more enjoyable to shop in. Other than that, it seems that this store is usually fully stocked on items... maybe it's because its bigger location, but I just seem to always find everything from staple items to the hot new items/seasonal favorites. The store associates are nice and friendly and I just love having more space to shop at this location. During these times, it's even more helpful to have the physical space between you and another person. The chips and condiments aisle do seem to be the same spacing as other storefronts, so the larger space doesn't help with that, but the bread, alcohol, and fresh produce areas are very spacious and far apart. Love this TJs! read more

We all know Trader Joe's is the place to go to for groceries and season finds, but did you know that you could get flowers for special occasions too? From my experience and conversation with TJ employees, they get shipments of fresh flowers DAILY. Due to COVID, we had to change our wedding plans last minute and opted for a very small ceremony. It didn't quite make sense to hire a florist so I decided to take on the task myself. Our wedding was in late May, which is the VERY start of peony season! I called in every morning in the week leading up to the wedding and someone ALWAYS answered and was more than happy to go check for me. I believe it was about 3-4 days before the wedding when they finally got their first shipment of peonies in. They staff member who was on the phone with me was happy to put aside 8 bunches of peonies for me to come pick up when I explained the situation. I was able to come in about 30 min after calling them to pick up the bouquets of peonies, greenery, fillers, and some other season blooms. Overall, I bought about 2 dozen bunches of flowers and greens for just under $200. I bought WAY more than I needed because I didn't quite know what I wanted the arrangements to look like. We were able to make 3 bouquets (1 large bridal, and 2 slightly smallers one) and still had enough flowers left over to make/fill 4 vase arrangements. The flowers stayed fresh while sitting in vases in my kitchen table for 4 days!! Shoutout to TJ for coming through with the flowers and TJs staff for being super understanding and helpful! read more

I used to live in the area and shop at this location all the time. I moved, and just went back on Friday night. Not the same TJs at all! First, there were several things out of stock, with tags showing the item name, but I couldn't find anyone to help me. Then I went to checkout. I was not greeted, and I asked the young woman, Ms. B. Ethan, if she was having a good day. Well, she said she was, but she was cranky. Then her colleague asked if I needed help bagging, which I had already started. I said no, but then said sure why not. She then turned and left me to continue my bagging, because she went to another register. I bought a small bouquet of flowers, and when I saw the drip catching bag wasn't there, I asked about the baggie. Ms. Ethan did not hand me the bag, but threw the bag at me. What is all of this about? I got home and decided to call the store to speak to the manager about my experiences in that store. I called 3 times, and after 4 rings each, the call was dropped! Again, I ask what is this about? This store needs to get their act together. I will NOT be shopping at this store again, even if passing through. Ms. Ethan and her colleague need retraining on Customer Service. So, no help in finding products I was looking for, an angry cashier, and phone calls dropped!!! I will go to other TJs stores, where I get better service and friendlier people!!! Just BAD!!! The Aliso Viejo and Irvine locations are MUCH BETTER! read more

Trader Joe's a go-to for groceries. I've never had an issue at one before and although my concern is minor, I still feel it's warranted to mention. I went to Trader Joe's in Laguna Hills yesterday after work. They had the items I wanted, and when asking for assistance, the employees were friendly and helpful. My, however small concern, is that I was charged for 5 bags when I only left with 3. Granted each bag is only 10¢, resulting in a 20¢ discrepancy. I'm hoping it was an accident and not something happening regularly to other customers. read more

I can't believe it! My nearest Trader Joe's has decided to stop carrying my favorite beverage! For years, Trader Joe's offered a vegetable juice in a large container that exceeded V8:juice in taste and was available at low cost. Today, I was told that if I wanted it I might be able to find it in San Diego or some other distant store. How's that for customer satisfaction? Oh well, this is still one of my favorite places to shop. I guess I'll just have to go back to drinking the local grocery store brand of vegetable juice from now on. 2 Stars for Service. 3 stars food in stock. Ok, so I usually love trader joes but not this location. Their customer service is not the friendliest. They barely greet you and it seems like most are always annoyed. I shop here like 1-2x a week and wish they would put a smile on their faces more.
