I've complained to the manager several times about the displays cluttering the store aisles, leaving no room for customers to shop or maneuver. It got worse. It's a horrible place to shop. The Deli section offers wonderful cold cuts...but for the past 2 years, there has been no ticket dispenser creating havoc with customers arguing who is first in line. Not sure why I bother with this location. Ever since the other Ralphs closed down in Encino, I've been coming to this location, mainly for convenience. I've realized it's not really convenient because I always end up having to drive to the Van Nuys location (on Burbank which I love) since this location doesn't have a good selection of items and generally sells out of everything I go there to purchase. The store is not organized very well and the aisles are very crowded. There is one cashier who should consider a career change because she is very rude. Sepi (the rude cashier) is only nice to the Iranian customers. She will smile at them and talk to them in Farsi. However, if you are not Iranian, she will barely look at you or exchange pleasantries. If you say, "hello" to her, she doesn't respond back. She always has an expression like she just sucked on a lemon. She is also very slow at scanning things and will be checking things on her phone while at the register. read more

This is my main go-to grocery store. It is more expensive but if you shop for things on sale and have coupons then it is worth it. They have a starbucks in the store but you cannot eat nor drink in the store,you can get it on your way out though. Don't forget your reusable shopping bags! read more

Extremely disappointed in the level of professionalism displayed by ORLANDO. My wife called me nearly in tears after she accidentally dropped a glass bottle of Pellegrino near the self checkout aisle. ORLANDO ended up making her feel even more embarrassed then she already was by yelling "Oh my f******g god!" over and over again instead of asking her if she was okay. Obviously this was an accident but instead of being helpful, this employee was extremely obnoxious and even had the nerve to tell my wife, "Next time, be more careful because now I have to clean this up". I have no idea how anyone can employ someone like this in the service industry. It seems like the entire store is mismanaged. I tried calling in to speak to the manager on duty after my wife called me from the parking lot and someone named TREVOR picked up by saying "Hello", as if he was getting a call on his cell phone. After asking for the manager, he hung up on me. When I called back, I spoke with ANGELA who shared she would be speaking with ORLANDO directly. I have no idea if there was any follow through or recourse for his behavior because she did not want to take my name and number so that the store manager could reach out to me. I was told to call MATTHEW OR STEVE. I called in twice today and both times the line rang an indefinite amount of times. This store SUCKS! Moldy bread out on the shelf, rotten lettuce in bags in the produce section...WTF?!? My chip debit card works fine EVERYWHERE ELSE but doesn't work here and when I tell the cashier the problem all he does is try pulling the card out and putting it back in...do you think that I didn't try that already?!? This is probably the best Ralph's I've found in Los Angeles The deli & hot service deli are one of the best and there's usually a line there when it gets busy 4:30-6:00 The bakery is to die for but things sell out fast especially if it is a holiday I always use the self-service check-out and there's always an attendant working there if you need things like batteries, cigarette lighters, fire logs etc. you get those items when you check out and it's much more convenient at SELF CHECK-OUT People that complain there's no cash registers open always come after a rush when all the employees are on break... This Ralphs is hit and miss. Maybe they are all. But today was a five-star day. No line for the in-house Starbucks, no line at the Murray's Cheese Shop (more on that in a bit), a very short line at check-out... and good attitudes all around. Normally, their lines are long enough that it pushes me to Gelson's. But they have edged ahead of the other Ralphs in Encino and I will sometimes drive four times the distance to go to this one over the one at Hayvenhurst. If Ralphs (most Ralphs... definitely this one) could keep a few more registers open... I mean, I'm sure the Ralphs people know more about making a profit at a grocery story than I do but I always find myself standing in a line thinking "this is not how you thank people for coming in and shopping". People would even "dash in and grab something" if it wasn't such a "line gamble". But today's experience almost makes me not dread having to go shopping. The biggest reason is the Murray's Cheese Shop. GREAT cheeses, GREAT people working there. Today it was Sandra and Tess but I've seen at least one other person there who is also sweet and knowledgeable. They hand out samples and chit-chat and if feels like you are getting high-end cheeses with upscale-but-friendly service. This cheese counter DUSTS any other grocery store cheese area. Good prices (I think), they are almost pushing tasty samples on you and they have baskets of really small pieces (like they are leftovers from bigger cuts?) so you can test-drive a few smaller pieces at your next get-together instead of having to take a chain saw to the seven pound block you bought at Costco. Murray's was a cool Greenwich Village cheese shop since the 40's... I think Kroger partnered or bought it so they are trying to make it "a thing". Well... it is. read more

But he proceeded to fix three drinks before mine and I asked about it. I was very polite. She's constantly with her bad attitude and unfriendly demeanor . She got upset today at an older woman who accidentally spilled water on the floor. I've been going to this Ralph's since I moved to Encino in 2013. Things have been fine. However, in the last 3wks, I've seen 2 dogs inside this Ralph's (1 a huge Doberman and the other a medium sized mutt). Do I have to explain how much of a health risk that is to have dogs in a grocery store? That's terrible. How are dogs allowed in a grocery store? They are full of bacterias. They are many problems in this store, that they just don't care to improve: the biggest problem I see is the reduced price rack, placed right next, really close to the restrooms. They sell you one day old bread, for 1/2 price??? A third price would be enough compensation for the store, considering that the next day, the bread is expired!!! A very serious problem with bread is, that when the mold starts developing on products, it's not always visible, to the necked eye!!! Many bread packages are opened, unprotected from customers hands and the really powerful toilet flush, that goes on all the time. A few days ago, I purchase the Chocolate cake, with fudge chocolate icing. It was an embarrassment for Ralphs and for myself, to purchase and serve this awful concoction to my guests. the cake had a "gummy" texture and it was very hard to masticate, and the flavor was cheap. I love this Ralphs! I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, it's a grocery store not a five star hotel lmao. Whenever I come here they always have alot of things in stock, actually I rarely see them run out of anything. I've eaten their sushi a few times and its pretty good for grocery store sushi. There are two tables with umbrellas to enjoy a cup of coffee from Starbucks that is inside the store. There were an assortment of plants for only $1.00 each on Tuesday ie. Petunias, Dianthus and Alyssum. Today there were just Alyssum available. A small pot of Marigolds are selling for 1.49 with beautiful blooms. There are still some available. They have a huge selection of Kosher for Passover products that are on sale. A jar of Yehuda gefilte fish (24oz.) is selling for $3.99! read more

Avoid parking closer to rite aid and panda and more so on the further end of the shared lot. The employees here are friendly and helpful when you need it most. The pickup has gotten fluid and functional, and they are always pleasant. It's timely and effective, and the staffs replacement picks are spot on. Also, this Ralph's is not a bad one. Came around noon to get a few groceries. So why on a holiday weekend do they have the cashier doing the bagging as well? Its July 4th weekend, get it together and staff a few more people. Most of the time they are friendly here, and they do have a great selection of everything you need. Halo top is on sale for 3.99, but i like it better when its 2 for 5.00. I never write reviews but this ralphs has some of the worst management I have seen. My preferred Ralphs (encino/ havenhurst) has shut down so I changed and started to go to this ralphs. Besides always being understocked, the management is terrible. Today March 16 I went in to the ralphs got my groceries went to pay ( half cash and half card) the cashier made a mistake and accidentally hit all cash. He was the only cashier on duty at 9 am and there was a huge line forming and wait no MANAGER to be found. Really? A store that size and when the manager takes a break there is no one available to do anything??? I stood by the register with my $200 in groceries waiting for a manager that never showed up. I used to love this place and shop there all my grocery, Today I went there to buy some flowers wine and some fruits it was a lot of ppl there and the lines was so long , I went to the self cashier and forgot that I can't pass wine and I had two bottles there, so I called for help.. the women that came to help me was literally rude! Curbside pickup is a disaster... After automatic messaging status that the order was ready for pickup I had to wait 35 minutes... That would not have been so bad except that there were 15 different items not substituted or even attempted to substitute... I cannot imagine that the grocery store was out of steaks, chicken, Diet Coke, ground Turkey ,pretzels, Green onions and hummus to name of few... ---Atmosphere, Service, Location & Parking--- This is a good sized store that I've been to many times. It's always clean, well stocked, and I've had no issues. I don't really come into contact with many employees but people seem to be nice. Can't really say too much. It's a market after all... Being the woman of the household, Ralph's is a place I frequent all the time for groceries. Parking is a breeze because there's a huge lot. I like coming here in the mornings when it's not so busy because aisles in this store are really tight. Items are always stocked, produce is fresh and they have a nice meat selection. They just recently added a cheese shop with so many different types of cheeses to choose from which I think is pretty cool because I like cheese lol. As far as the hot food to go-- I picked up a rotisserie chicken one time and it was probably the worst I've tasted. Texture was rubbery and although it looked well seasoned it tasted very bland. Another awesome thing is that they offer a "build your own 6-pack" of beers for $9.99 which is cool because it allows you to try different kinds. There's this one nice guy named Charlie S. that works in the produce department that goes to look in the back stock for me when I ask for green bananas. Other than that I can't really say anything about customer service because I like to use self check out. read more
