I love that the produce is always stocked here for the most part. The one thing I don't like about this store is how crowded the walkway is by the registers. It's impossible to get up and down that aisle! They always have a nice selection of premade food and I love their cheese counter. You've got to check out the little bins with the cheese that's on sale. Thank me later! I got some salmon sashimi and it was actually pretty good. Most recently I got a rotisserie chicken and when I picked it up by the handle, the whole container busted open which was a bummer. It felt like a total waste just for that crummy packaging. i was in the area and was looking for some last minute flowers. This RALPHS in Encino came through. The store is well stocked with plenty of plants & flowers to choose from. The prices were also a BIG surprise to me. (hint: checkout the clearance section). They also have so many balloon options. We hot a large Birthday cake balloon and the price was just right. I usually shop at the Ralphs by Taft, but this time I stopped at the Encino Ralphs to grab a balloon for my son's first day of school since it was more convenient. I picked out a school bus balloon, but checkout was a whole ordeal. The cashier was hovering, making sure I paid, then started flipping and dragging the giant balloon around the store to figure out the price because apparently it didn't have a tag. The manager came over and did the same, dragging it all over. At that point, I just said no thanks because I didn't want my balloon treated like that. So, I ended up going back to the Taft location where I bought an uninflated balloon and was told to come back later to have it inflated. The next day, my husband and I went back to the Encino store for inflation, but that visit was just as disappointing. I approached Maria in the flower section politely and asked if she could inflate my balloon with the receipt in hand. She immediately seemed disinterested and basically said no, claiming they had some inflated ones already and that it would take a long time. When I explained what I went through, she just shrugged it off and acted bored, barely paying attention and scrolling on her phone. Maria is the person in charge of that department and I expected more courtesy and helpfulness. Honestly, I felt ignored and disrespected. Update. I only occasionally come here if it's late or I need a single break item. The store remains disgusting and uninviting. The produce looks rotten. Aisles are now behind glass barriers. There are guards armed to the teeth. The actual staff is the worst, especially in checkout. They seem to be barely aware of the customers. They mostly talking with each other and cursing and talking about their plans for getting f-ed up after work. They're taking personal calls in their cell phones while barely paying attention to what they're doing, putting leaky raw meat on top of other food items and they do all this while moving at a snail's crawl. read more

Well, having lived in the vicinity for years, I have seen a change in this store, as noted by others. Not only have prices risen (as they have elsewhere), but I am not getting such deals. Though I have not had an issue with employees there, mostly having been fine, helpful - I had a checker whom did not speak a word ( was wearing a mask), but did not interact at all, noticing he also did not greet the following customer. A reason I will shop there is because I am sent specialized coupons based upon past purchases - saving a bit on a few things, like the Kroger toilet paper I have always liked. Recently, when expecting to get with a coupon, the 12-roll packages were unavailable, and when asked, was told they "must not have any", instead of checking the back. My bigger beef is, having the urge to buy Baked goods and a Whole Roasted Chicken, neither were good at all, though having gotten a chicken, prior. I have to smack myself for bothering with a baked snack, later recalling that I had made this mistake in the past...these having been tasteless, poorly baked, ugh. I also tried the Kroger Egg Nog which is more like milk..but NOT milk. Disappointed. As said, the aisles are difficult to maneuver within, and having completely relocated some aisles recently, makes it more time consuming, I will just go to the Reseda "Food for Less" market if wanting Kroger items. Literally, the aisles are so narrow that you bump into the employees stocking the shelves who have trouble getting their carts in there, and block the aisleway for other customers. This Ralph's is by far the worst Ralph's location I have ever been in. My wife describes it as an assault on the senses and I couldn't agree more. After the first few minutes though it's almost comical how terrible the store is so then it became like a fun bingo card experience of the most ridiculous things. LAYOUT The store layout asks the question: "what if we took two Ralph's stores and shoved all the inventory into a store of similar size?" The aisles very very narrowly fit two people walking past one another and the carts are a tough squeeze. Have you ever driven on one of those inlets near Beverly glen and you need to wait behind a parked car to go around because it's a two way street with only one car width of space? It's like that. MESS There were spilled produce, items and small displayed strewn and scattered about, and so many products placed back on a random shelf. OTHER CUSTOMERS As strange and exhausting as this store is without anyone in it, I can assure you the people are weirder. Here is a brief (and not at all comprehensive) list of individuals that we observed: 1. Angry lady with HUGE hair who acted inconvenienced by anyone who dared to be in the aisle with her at any time. 2. Strange woman who stood in the middle of the aisle talking loudly--but I didn't see a head set or AirPods... her words were between what would be considered self talk and what would be considered part of a conversation but we couldn't tell 3. Multiple people with dogs, and a person with multiple dogs. These are not service animals and should not be allowed in establishments honestly it's disgusting. I love dogs but not near my food. 4. Several people cutting around and blocking with zero spatial awareness. Gold medal to Mr. American flag on every article of clothing with a wide stance blocking multiple aisles. 5. Several individuals talking loudly on speakerphone... is there no more social contract? Did nobody else sign? 6. A handful of regular people who seem well adjusted and normal--is it there first time too? Are they not bothered by the chaos? 7. Lady who wanted to pay by check and it took 10 minutes to sort out. Lady had a debit card in her wallet--why you using checks still it's 2025??? PRODUCE QUALITY The produce had so much inedible and nasty items with the moldy side down. I grabbed a tomato that looked fresh and juicy only to find a disgusting underside ewwww. Also the bags are all not filled. Maybe there is a short person who can only refill the bags near the floor but not the ones high up. Very weird. Also by the meat department. All in all, unless it's an emergency I would recommend staying far away from here. I will never be back and I hope this review helps others avoid this establishment. read more

I haven't been here for awhile and I was appalled by the way it is now. It makes me claustrophobic. Aisles are full of products. Not enough for 2 carts to pass. It is like you're in a not so nice neighborhood. There is no enough room to move around. Dollar tree and 99 cents have even better space. Aisles are free of clutter and plenty of room to move around. This Encino Ralphs Grocery Store has to be one of the worst Ralphs in their chain of stores. First of all, it is so crowded and cramped two carts cannot get down the isles at one time!! Coming in the front doors you cannot get in/go through when an employee in the flower department is working there. The store may contain a lot of merchandise but it is a zoo trying to finds items and get to them through the tight isles. The employees were not friendly or helpful. They walked right by you when you politely asked for directions to a product. Worst of all was the young man on duty at the self-check out (CHEC 510 at 1:28PM on 12/10/25 ). He was sullen, not communicating what so ever, and darn right mean looking. We asked him three times, very politely, for help with the check-out machine and he absolutely ignored us while leaning right in front of us all the time!! All in all we will never return to the Encino Ralphs. Also the prices seem to be higher on a lot of the items compared to some other Ralphs locations - and other super markets in the vicinity. Upon taking a home after buying just a few groceries, I discovered that my cat food treats were not in my basket. My roommate helped me bring the bags in, so I immediately jumped in the car and went back to the store and explained my dilemma to the manager. She told me to just get one off of the shelf, which I did. I showed it to her with my receipt, she waved her hand as if she didn't want to see it and for me to go, and I did once I got home my roommate informed me that none of the produce was in the bag. I was livid at best. Then I was so angry and I was not going to make another trip back to the store, so I called them up and explained to them that that was also missing from my cart and could somebody deliver it, since they do deliveries all the time. I was put on hold and when she came back, she said to me, my manager said they don't do that and they are not responsible for anything once you leave the store. I explained to her that there were many times when things were missed or not put in your card and you go back into the store and they will happily get them for you. However, she explained to me several times over that it was not their responsibility it is my responsibility to make sure all of my groceries were put into my bags. I also explained to her that I had paid for my produce. I have a receipt, and with no exception, she said that's on me and there was nothing they were going to do about it . I was very angry. I told her that that was unfair. I had paid for them. My receipt reflects it and if I wanted to get free groceries, broccoli and zucchini would not be my choices.. I told her it seems like a great way to make money off of your customers without honoring the fact that trust maybe the check staff and baggers may have made a mistake. She was beyond rude and by this time I was so angry and just hung up. I paid for broccoli and zucchini and the cat food, got my cat food, but I'm out the money and I'm out the vegetables. Also, she said to me you got your free cat food that's all you're gonna get. I am not a violent person but believe me if I would've been there, I probably would've punched her right in the face now I know that's juvenile, but that's how angry I was. It's really too bad but this Ralph's has gone downhill. If you arrive on Sunday morning at 8/8:30 there is often just self check. It takes forever with a cert full of groceries. Also, the isles are completely fully of stuff and you have to navigate around all the food and boxes on the ground. I am a manager of a house for women going through intense trauma therapy which is located less than a mile away from this ralphs which at first the convenience was worth it to the staff member that shopped there once a week pushing around 2 carts with a bill $400-600 I didn't however so I researched other options and found one Order online and pick it up. I assume since its offered to everyone everywhere that they are equipped better than i to do it. So we sign up we put in order on Monday mornings and we pick from times that day that they give us to choose from. All was great , very very helpful providing that service to little companies such as ours and helping so much the women who work here to help these women from hurting themselves with the two grocery carts full of food as well as having more time to be able to be of service to the clients here. We were so grateful. UNTIL....... I went to place the order on line as i had been doing the last month I went to send order to pay and it just wouldn't send it. It wouldn't let me go any further. No matter what i tried so I asked the staff who came in next to make a profile and just see if its the website maybe and she did it and it was successful. Went through no problem but when we went to pick it up the guy asks if the card that was on this profile was it used on another profile? She said yes and then tells him what happened and he was typing something into their phone or ipad and come next week same thing happened with this profile as the last. Turns out they blocked our accounts from ordering groceries. A friend of one of the staff here who is a manager at that particular store and she asked him about it and he says oh you must be that big order every week. What you should have done was order the groceries on saturday or sunday and scheduled pick up on monday. LIKE WHAT????? They had so many opportunities FACE TO FACE to ask us to do that and i would have gladly done it that way. Any one of them that brought the groceries out to the car could have asked anyone of us. Or how about if they can block you from ordering online how about they just not give you a same day pick up Seems better to me than missing an EASY $2500 in revenue a month. That store has gotten so chaotic and messy inside too. So although a little more inconvenient we go to a whole other company grocery store. And i will take this further up the chain. read more

Because haagen dazs ice cream was on sale at ralphs while visiting my parents in thought I'd give this ralphs another try. It was a big big mistake!! All of the haagen dazs flavors except for 3 flavors were out of stock including the 2 flavors I wanted. Everytime haagen dazs is on sale this ralphs never has any haagen dazs in stock. Also this ralphs was out of snapple as well Because I didn't want to travel too far iI drove to gelsons on reseda blvd in tarzana where they had what I needed and wanted. The same week I went to ralphs west hills on victory and fallbrook and ralphs topanga/ventura in woodland hills and ralphs chattsworth street in granada hills. These 3 ralphs i went to had a fully stocked shelf of the full line of haagen dazs in stock on sale. These other 3 ralphs had snapple in stock as well. Also the 3 other ralphs I visited were well stocked and had enough check stands opened with wide isles. The encino ralphs is way too small for the population it serves. I see why my mom never visits this ralphs for her grocery shopping and only goes to gelsons in either encino or tarzana. The next time I visit my parents i will avoid this ralphs and go to gelsons. It's unfortunate that ralphs on burbank and van nuys or ralphs woodland hills or ralphs west hills is far with traffic. read more

I'm not sure if the lady at the self check-out is not nice because she works self check-out, or if she works self check-out because she is not nice. Some of the staff are really super helpful. Others look seriously not wanting to be there. That's unfortunate because you don't know which you are going to get. Beyond the staff, the store is a cluttered mess. You can hardly walk down the aisles because they're so narrow and have merchandise piled beyond where anybody could reach it. What will not go wrong Saturday morning at this Ralph's. 1. Asked for wine bag one of cashier we don't give it to until you check out( no other store just give it to you). 2. Only one person is at Deli any 3-4 people are waiting. 3. Bought additional item before heading out cashier need to check a receipt for previous bought items. So first I went in last night around 11pm for some cream soda for thanksgiving and was so happy and surprised that this ralphs was opened till 1am. I loved the size of the store and Orlando was so helpful and kind to me even at 11pm he was a cashier and everytime I go in there he makes the trip worth it. Orlando gives great service and the vibe of the store is alright it is a bit cramped but it's still well worth it. read more

First the bad, then the good. There are often no baskets available. Employees say that it's because people steal them. So when we don't have enough items for a cart we juggle them in our arms through the aisles to the cashier lines. The parking lot has litter around it and looks worse than it should. Also, shoplifting is a problem at this store, so it keeps the security guards busy. We have witnessed thefts and confrontations escalating nearly to full fights inside the store. Recent California laws restrict store employees from confronting shoplifters, so they cannot do much to stop blatant crime, especially theft. Not many years ago, security guards were a deterrent. But now they are weakened by the new regulations and Sacramento's (or Los Angeles's) "soft on crime" experiment. What is good about the store is its employees. Most are very helpful and approachable. The employees here have my full respect for what they go through with regard to the crime and the odd customers who cause trouble. It's also nice having a Starbucks inside the Encino Ralphs, so when we finish grocery shopping we swing by for a coffee and something to eat on the way out. Everyone who works at the Starbucks is super friendly and we want to give a thank you to Mehran (friends call him John), and Rachel for all the times they hustled through lines of coffee drinkers and served us drinks with a smile. read more

thisw is by far the most cluttered market i have ever been in. shopping here has become a horror show of asiles crammed with promo items, narrow enought that if there are 3 people in the same asile, it becomes impassable. i was in the dairy section looking for buttermilk. the store clerk looked at me quizzically and asked if that was a real thing. i left my cart and walked away. if a grovery clerk doesn't know what buttermilk is, what else do they not know? over stuffed, understaffed, poorly run. i''d give you a few stars for produce but then, like hotel california, you can never check out read more

don't pay for "free" delivery! I paid for an annual membership in Ralph's "Boost", which makes next day delivery free on "orders" over $35. it's a fraud. Ralphs is often out of stock and so the final payment becomes lass than $35 and so they charge me for delivery. it's not my fault. my "order" was over $35. this happens frequently. read more

I usually shop at Ralphs and have always considered it one of my favorite grocery stores but after my recent experience, I'm honestly reconsidering. I went in to do some shopping and used the self-checkout since the line for the regular registers was long and no one seemed to be calling for backup. I didn't mind using self-checkout, but what happened next was completely unacceptable. While I was scanning and bagging my items, a female associate with long curly hair came over and started speaking to me with a very rude and disrespectful attitude. She kept telling me I wasn't allowed to put my scanned items back into my cart which is something I've always done at self-checkout without any issue. When I tried to explain that I had a lot of items and the bagging area was too small, she continued to argue with me instead of helping. Her tone felt aggressive, and I honestly felt like I was being targeted for no reason. To make matters worse, she allowed other customers to get involved in the conversation, which only made the situation more uncomfortable and chaotic. I've never been treated like that in any store, let alone one I've supported for so long. I'm not someone who usually leaves negative reviews, but I left feeling humiliated and upset. It's really disappointing that Ralphs allows staff like this to interact with customers. If this is how they treat loyal shoppers, I'm not sure I'll be returning. read more

I am just going to review Ralphs with respect to their curbside service. It's been many years since I have shopped at Ralphs, preferring my local Trader Joe's. However, since the pandemic I have rediscovered Ralph's because they offer a free curbside pick up service that is totally invaluable. When the service works well it is so convenient, when it doesn't work it's infuriating. I had many early bad experiences with the curbside until Matthew got involved. He runs the curbside program and ensures that everything is perfect. The fine attention to detail like double checking my name on the order and notifying of any substitutions impresses me. He let me know that it would be better if I use the app to let them know that I was on my way so they could prepare everything to be even faster when I arrive at the store. It literally takes about five minutes after my arrival before my groceries are delivered contactless into my trunk. Before Matthew I had someone else's groceries delivered into my trunk and another time when they could not complete my order at all. So I know that the program takes some Organization on their end to work well. It's a great service during the pandemic and I highly recommend it. read more

There are always plenty of sales and thankfully there is always enough cashiers to keep the line moving. They also have an option for self checkout if that is more your style. Dont even come to this Ralphs location if you are black or Hispanic. I used to love coming to this location when I lived in the valley many years ago sometimes, and I got the best service. I guess their has been some thefts and crime here in the past. I walk inside recently to get a little food for a party me and my girl was invited too from her friends, and I get dirty looks from employees and security following me. Oh yes, they really got pissed seeing me holding hands with a Jewish young woman. I really had them shitting their pants. The store has always had good produce, a awesome deli aisle. Lots of parking in a good location. They lock up all of their alcohol beverages now. I can understand that. The store gets good yelps from me. I am giving them 1star this time because of the racist treatment of me and my girl I am not afraid to call anyone out on their racism and lack of respect for their customers.
