I feel like this TJs has stepped it up in recent times! First of all, I know the parking lot is small but I never have a hard time finding a spot. I always appreciate that I never really have to wait in line to check out. They move fast! Compared to the other location in Tarzana, the employees here are MUCH nicer. I like that lately they have had a lot of samples to try right in the front of the store. The other day they were sampling their new margherita pizza and it felt like a full on pizza party with everyone walking around with a slice in their hand. I just wish this store had a section that had cold wine/water etc. I've see that at other locations but I know space is limited. My son loves that they give him stickers and we always look for Claude the gorilla. We love Claude! He's always hiding around the store in his little TJs shirt. Keep an eye out next time! First time here and parking lot seems small but I got the parking easily. Just come here to pick up some snacks. As I waked around I saw a lot of fresh produce and variety of groceries. I'm always on the hunt for something new when I'm at Trader Joe's, and today I spotted a sandwich I haven't seen before. It's a chicken and cheddar cheese sandwich on cranberry seeded wheat bread. Wow, cranberries baked right into the bread. Never had that combo before, and it was great. The bread has this soft, hearty texture with a touch of sweetness from the cranberries, which gives it something different from your typical sandwich. Inside, the chicken was nice and tender, the cheddar had that sharp bite, and they didn't go crazy with the mayo so it still felt fresh. Honestly, I just wish it had a little more meat, but I kinda expected that going in. Flavor-wise, it was really good. It's original, different, and it definitely gave me something new to try. I love when Trader Joe's gets creative like this. Good job, Trader Joe's. Keep that stuff coming. read more

Shopping in Encino, California... Since we were in the area, Niki S., Jeff V., and I went to look for the pastel-colored mini tote bags that were supposed to be released today (Nurses' Day, May 6, 2025). This Encino location had a one-way in, and one-way out traffic pattern. I just ran in and grabbed two pastel green bags because that's all they had left - in a shopping cart... and two bags per customer was the limit. Well... I didn't expect much because the store opened at 8am and it was afternoon already. I was happy with a sample of Rhubarb pie... thank you! The neighborhood TJ that you have to plan your strategies on when to go...Lol... It's not bad, they carry everything just like all the other locations. The staff and service is great. Everyone has always been amazing and very helpful each and everytime I've been. Whatever I need, they always have. It's smaller than some of the location so it can get a little crowded in the store. The only downside, the parking situation. It's a small lot and pretty tight. Trying to get in can be a hassle as if someone is pulling out and trying to park, it does back up the whole entrance. It's really a one way in one way out situation but you have the rude few that will try to leave through the main entrance and backing up traffic getting in. I love to visit Trader Joe's on Friday night/Saturday morning. Parking lot is fairly small, however okay to get in/out of private parking lot. Produce is fresh, staff is extremely helpful and the cashiers are friendly and engaging (service with a smile when I think of this store). Trader Joe's has wide aisles and fully stocked shelves. Overall, the store has a fun, fresh vibe. Many staff members wear hawaiian themed shirts; nautical theme which makes me smile. 2 things bro. Alright look I love Trader Joe's but this store had me feeling like I'm color blind. That big red cover that's over the flowers makes ALLLLL the flowers look like they are beautiful and pink. Once you walk out of the red cover the flowers look discolored which has me going back and forth trying to find the right color of flowers. Under the cover purple is bright pink. Pale pink is bright pink or orange. It's confusing. Now for my second thing. Creativity and imagination is always important in any job environment. Service used to be a lot better. I remember last year I came looking for a specific kind of flower and I ran into this amazing woman that said she managed a few of the locations around here. She called another Trader Joe's and made sure they had the flowers, then I was able to go pick them up from there and she had went out of her way to help. Parking is a nightmare here, especially during peak times. But in general, once you're inside there is the typical positive Trader Joe's experience. All the options you enjoy from TJ's are present, and the store is on the medium / small size so less likely to have the full selection if you're accustomed to other stores. The staff are helpful with questions and carts and everything else, although one of the young associates did not know what vinegar was. Just plain white vinegar, not apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar. That was funny. read more

I was there today at 1 PM. An employee was stocking shelves. I had my ten day old daughter with me covered, of course in her stroller. I just went to pick up some flowers for a birthday and some bananas from my other two sons. This is my first trip out of the house. The employee that was stocking shelves, tossed a melon onto the stack of honeydew melons, and it rolled off and fell into my child's stroller on top of my sleeping baby. He apologized a couple times, but didn't check in with me or my baby Other employees witnessed it and they didn't do anything. They didn't check in with me. They didn't get a manager.. nothing... I didn't seem like my daughter was injured. She didn't wake up or make any noises. I started crying as it was super upsetting and went to the checkout. I felt bad, not wanting to get the guy in trouble but then as I'm heading to check out, he's racing around the corner with a cart filled with more items to stock. He's obviously in way too much of a hurry and not taking care with his task. It's already a busy store, but I figured I was safe in the afternoon on a Friday. It was a disheartening experience to say the least. I won't shop at this store again for sure. read more

I love Trader Joe's, and I love their coffee. often times the coffee is the deciding factor to shop here. However, this location's coffee grinder does not work. It only grinds one setting and that is a very unusable course setting. Over the course of several months now I've told management at least 4 times that there is a problem they pretend to care and say they'll get it looked at, but so far it still hasn't been fixed. It's a real shame, I now have to drive to a different Trader Joe's further away just so I can use a coffee grinder that actually works. You can see in the picture the grind is clearly very course even though I had the machine set to "Turkish", which should literally look like powder. The setting dial simply does nothing and I can't get the proper grind for my drip machine or anything else for that matter. It's too course to make any sort of a decent cup. read more

I would give five stars if it wasn't for the manager who handled a situation very poorly today. We do our grocery shopping here and are always treated fairly, with respect and lots of genuine smiles and help without hesitations. Today, however, there was a customer who was mistreating a cashier named Amanda, a sweet young lady who did not deserve to be disrespected, let alone harassed unnecessarily. Amanda remained very professional throughout the entire incident and simply handled the situation in a calm manner. The entitled customer continued her rage until the next person in line told her to be nice and show fairness; the entitled customer went off on that poor lady as well, the so called manager came and got the entitled person and walked out with her. After seeing that the distraught customer continued to blame others for her stupidity, I proceeded to push the shopping cart she left for others to put away. I went outside and told the manager that Amanda had been mistreated. "This lady is full of crap," I said. He said he was handling it, but he really was reasoning with that rude customer. We paid, put our cart back, and he was still listening to this person who had caused the entire incident. I approached as I put the shopping cart away and told the manager that for the record, Amanda was the victim, not the other way around. The manager got irritated and yelled at me, stating that none was in trouble or getting fired. I walked away. Two stupid individuals with no people skills handling a situation in which entitlement played the biggest role are just not worth anyone's time and/or effort. read more

We'll don't bother with this location, especially at 9:03pm when you need ONE thing and the staff in the lot won't let you inside even though there are still customers inside and the doors are open. The have unique seasonal products like pumpkin Brownies and maple cream cookies, the cheese selection is unbeatable with flavors like caramelized onion and bread cheese. Refreshing kombuchas, juices, coconut water and their famous Jo jo cookies. Also the Danish Kringle! My god, that is one of the greatest things I've ever put inside my mouth. You come here to get one item and leave with a cart full, your wallet a little lighter. My only complaint: the crowds....so many people here. No matter what day or time it's an ocean of human beings. Anxiety attack, here I come. Also chaotic parking lot. I've witnessed several fights break out over a parking spot. The employees are known for being waaay too talkative and friendly here. This store tries to remove bad reviews. Why? They literally email you when it happens. So now you get 1 star instead of what you had before. Don't try and cheat me Trader Joe's. The store itself is as you expect. Everything is clean and quality is what you want. But what I hate about this location is your parking lot. I don't get why your stores do this... you know people want to shop here, so you make sure you lease and stay in a location with the smallest parking lot humanity possible. The employee Jack or whoever the captain name was harassed me this morning with my service animals. I walked in with my two small service animals to grab a little coffee and he immediately told me there was no dogs allowed unless they were service animals. I told them they were both my service animals. He then said we're only allowed to have one service animal and then I said OK I'm just going to leave. He stressed me out so bad and caused me anxiety that I accidentally walked out with the coffee that I was going to purchase my dog, then started to go to the restroom and go poop and immediately as she's still going poop, he walked up behind me to harass me again and ask if I need to get a bag which I already had in my hand because I carry my dog bags on me. I then went to my car because I was so flustered and overwhelmed at that point because he started to record me I drove by and threw the coffee back at the store because I am not no thief. You need to fire him and find somebody who is capable of handling things in that manner in a non-harassed way. Especially if people have mental health or handicap disabilities. read more

As almost everyone else has mentioned, this Trader Joe's does not have the best parking lot. On the other hand, few people have mentioned this Trader Joe's, unlike the one I usually go to, does not have an express register, so if you only have a few items you sometimes have to wait a while to pay. In common with every Trader Joe's I have ever been in, refilling the empty plastic bag rollers in the produce area does not seem to be part of the daily pre-opening procedure, so once again, today at around 10:00am almost every plastic bag roller was empty and everyone had to get bags from the one plastic bag roller that wasn't empty. read more

I don't usually write reviews about grocery stores, because it's usually get in get out kind of places, but this particular location, conveniently close to my domicile is where I was helped by the extremely helpful, knowledgeable Kathleen. When I walked in, I must have looked like a deer in the headlights, because she welcomed me, then asked if there was anything she could help me find. I was looking for a particular bottle of wine, and she knew exactly what I was asking about, took me right to the spot, then proceeded to recommend a few other bottles for the party. She made wonderful snacking suggestions and highlighted some of the new arrivals. I went from a bottle of wine to a $$$ worth of goodies all thanks to that human touch you get at this TJ's. Kathleen embodies customer service, and that's a fading concept in today's day and agreed. Another great thing about TJ's -- they got reasonable mini roses for my cat to snack on. This is my local Trader Joe's, and I love it! The people here are friendly and helpful, and the selection is great. The store is the perfect size, and they usually have what I need. My husband and I are always pleased with the service here, and we even have a favorite security guard! As with any Trader Joe's, the parking lot is less than ideal, but you can always find a spot, even during the holidays or the pandemic. I'm not sure what's going on with the quality of this place but we have been having issues. A crumbled organic feta cheese was moldy when we bought it and didn't realize till we ate it and it tasted funny. A bagged organic Caesar salad was all red when I tried to eat it the day I got it. We've been talking to neighbors and they've been noticing the same thing with this store specifically. Even our doctor told us to go to the one in Woodland Hills because this places items she didn't think were fresh. Worst Trader Joe's ever!!! My car was hit by one of Trader Joe's shopping carts within the parking lot when I was trying to park recently!!! One of the managers was warning me that Trader Joe's is not responsible without any apologies. There was not any visible sign nor any preventive measurements to avoid this problem. Possibly the smallest Trader Joe's I've ever been to, butttt it's a convenient location for me and has all the necessities I need. If you live in the area or are willing to park in the neighborhood, I would highly suggest it. The lot is small -- about 2 or 3 dozen spaces -- and enclosed with a gate. Coming in and out can be a time-consuming nightmare, and angry patrons honk at each other repeatedly. Traffic is delayed up and down Burbank Blvd on a regular basis. Avoid, avoid, avoid! There are locations in Woodland Hills and Sherman Oaks -- go to one of those. The inside is, predictably, not as diverse as the other stores. After going here for a few years, I ventured out to a Trader Joe's in Agoura Hills -- wow! The floral selection alone convinced me that I'd been missing out. But, hey, Encino has ample essentials -- seasonings, sauces, veggies, meats, frozen foods, and alcohol. Can't go wrong with the basics. I'm honestly surprised they haven't closed this location down and tried to open up somewhere nearby. I get it, the location has a legacy... But there's no way to expand without serious renovation AND getting rid of the gas station on the corner. read more
