So glad another grocery store is open here on Victory. The parking lot is a bit cramped and the stalls are mostly small diagonal ones, but there are a few larger and longer stalls if you have a larger car. The store has a very wide range of different vegetables and produce, and a mixture of SK branded middle eastern flatbread, jarred fruits, and even some eggplant spread. There were some marinated meats like fajita style chicken and flap meat--very interested to cook it and see how it stacks up since Vallarta is not too far away and there are other carnicerias in the area. The store is effectively split into two sections: an open air produce section and then 4-5 aisles with a frozen section adjacent. There are several security guards, and several supervisor type employees ensuring everything is going smoothly--I like that they are somewhat overstuffed in this initial period while they figure out operations and smooth the kinks. The service was all friendly and attentive, and I think this location has a lot of potential, I'm very excited to stay tuned and especially to try out lots of the interesting products and broaden my horizons!

I do grocery shopping a lot and often - I was looking forward to the opening of this store since the old 99 cents store closed. Before 99 this used to be Vallarta. Anyway I hope SK will stay - I think it's a little bit smaller than their other locations which js great because they'll just sell the best selection here perhaps. I bought some cold cuts and havarti cheese when I went last Friday - I love that it's not that crowded yet and while there is plenty of parking - this area is always tight like the spaces for each car is tight. That being said I also got some French bread and I noticed they have the brown bread that I love from Cheesecake and it's their own brand so it's affordable. I Of course you go here for the fresh produce, got some dragon fruit and kiwi that I know are ripe and ready (we ate them right away) and they're cheaper here than my regular store. Also got fresh basil, some other veggies that were priced well. My favorite thing I bought in this visit - tuna steaks! The place is clean and bright and a lot of check out counters and workers available if you have any questions. Will definitely come back as I pass by this place everyday.

Half of the store is produce which I don't mind. They have a good assortment of fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. The groceries are decently priced.

Always offer fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat but horrible parking for this particular store. very small. This is not a full size market though, more like Super King fresh.

This is a mini super king, but it gets the job done. The parking lot sucks especially when people don't pull all the way into their spots. The deli counter is super small, but they have the basics, although if you're looking for something specific, just take the extra ten minutes and go to the one further down victory. I was glad they have my favorite pumpernickel bread and fiancee was excited for his frozen pupusas and plantains.

Welcome to Lake Balboa. Newly opened Super King opened on July 7. There are now two Super Kings in Van Nuys. This grocery store was the late Jonathan Gold's (LA Times food critic) favorite grocery store in Los Angeles. This is a mini-version of a typical Super King. Hopefully it will alleviate some of the craziness at the other Van Nuys location. You come here for produce. There's some unbelievable deals it and people go crazy. Unfortunately, not all produce is of good quality. I wanted some red onions and all the red onions were horrible and old looking... almost going bad red onions out with flies all over them. Even the newer stock on the cart was almost rotten. Go for the product deals as most of the store is dedicated to fruits and vegetables. There some interesting European and Armenian / Middle Eastern products as well.

Super King is such a great market. The place is always clean, the produce is fresh, and they've got a really good selection of meats. Super easy to get in and out--parking's a breeze. Just a great neighborhood market that makes shopping feel easy. I always enjoy coming here

That same evening, my 14-year-old son and I both got sick -- diarrhea and stomach cramps within hours of eating it. When I examined the packaging I understood why: the store had placed their own label showing a February 2026 packing date directly over the manufacturer's original sticker, which clearly showed a December 2025 production date. That is a 3-month-old deli meat product sold as fresh. When I returned to the store and raised this with the manager, he was immediately defensive, dismissive of the date discrepancy, and showed zero concern that two people had become ill after eating his product. I have filed formal complaints with the USDA Meat & Poultry division and LA County Environmental Health. I have photographic evidence of both date labels. Shop here at your own risk -- and check carefully what is underneath those price stickers.

Upon entering there are shopping carts and baskets. Take a rolling one (trust me) and get ready for a wonderful store filled with food stuffs that will make you swoon. The neatly stacked shelves are filled with things like chocolate, jam, pasta, tinned seafood, chips, and pasta are all neatly organized. Tags indicating country of origin (largely from Europe) are helpful. There are refrigerators full of charcuterie, cheese, and French butter. Freezers have ready to bake breads and pastries from a bakery in Canada. It's actually quite overwhelming (in a very good way), if you don't know what you need. You'll definitely see lots of things you want. The people that work here seem happy and are very helpful. When we were looking at chips, one of the employees shared his favorites. The best part of the visit was meeting the owner. He was enthusiastic and extremely informative! He told us that everything in the store was sampled and scrutinized for taste and quality. He knew everything about the products and why they were sourced. He helped me find a delicious arbequina olive oil from Italy and tins of sardines packed it butter. Swoon. By the end of our visit my basket was full! While the items here are pricey I truly think that the quality is worth it. Parking is plentiful and conveniently located just outside. The store is clean and well organized. Bring your own reusable shopping bags because you'll need it for all the wonderful goodies. Definitely returning! I've been in LA for well over three decades and its rare that I am frozen in my footsteps when walking into a new spot - but this place did it. A vast Disneyland of tinned fish, butters, pastas, meats, chocolate, spices, so so much more. Honestly, for anyone passionate about food and cooking, it may make you cry visiting this spot. I was faced with this Rude employee named Martin who tells me flat out that the employees of the store or at least Martin is not about Customer Service or the customers needs. Earlier I had walked by the tangerine booth. I saw that the bin was empty. I went over to Martin and ask him where are the tangerines located he pointed where they were. I looked over and I said the bin was empty and if they can fill it. Non-responsibly he struck his shoulders so I walked over to produce Manager and asked can they bring out fresh tangerines since the bin was empty. He said fine in 10 minutes. I continued with my shopping and 20 minutes later I came in and the bin was still empty so I went over to Martin and as I couldn't find the produce manager, I asked can they fill the bin he says when I get around to it so I walked over, found the produce manager, and I asked for the tangerines to be filled. The produces Manager went and ask Martin to do that. exactly 2 minutes later he walks up to the tangerine bin and tells me why did you go and asked the mgr for Tangerines? I told you I will get to it when I get to it. I told him that I had a doctors appointment that I've been waiting for 20 minutes and I'd like to finish my shopping to which he responded well we don't work around the customers schedule we work whenever we want to. This has left such a bad taste in my mouth and so contrary to my experience in Northridge. I hope the store manger pays attention to Martin and his lack of customer service attitude.
