So glad another grocery store is open here on Victory. The parking lot is a bit cramped and the stalls are mostly small diagonal ones, but there are a few larger and longer stalls if you have a larger car. The store has a very wide range of different vegetables and produce, and a mixture of SK branded middle eastern flatbread, jarred fruits, and even some eggplant spread. There were some marinated meats like fajita style chicken and flap meat--very interested to cook it and see how it stacks up since Vallarta is not too far away and there are other carnicerias in the area. The store is effectively split into two sections: an open air produce section and then 4-5 aisles with a frozen section adjacent. There are several security guards, and several supervisor type employees ensuring everything is going smoothly--I like that they are somewhat overstuffed in this initial period while they figure out operations and smooth the kinks. The service was all friendly and attentive, and I think this location has a lot of potential, I'm very excited to stay tuned and especially to try out lots of the interesting products and broaden my horizons!

I do grocery shopping a lot and often - I was looking forward to the opening of this store since the old 99 cents store closed. Before 99 this used to be Vallarta. Anyway I hope SK will stay - I think it's a little bit smaller than their other locations which js great because they'll just sell the best selection here perhaps. I bought some cold cuts and havarti cheese when I went last Friday - I love that it's not that crowded yet and while there is plenty of parking - this area is always tight like the spaces for each car is tight. That being said I also got some French bread and I noticed they have the brown bread that I love from Cheesecake and it's their own brand so it's affordable. I Of course you go here for the fresh produce, got some dragon fruit and kiwi that I know are ripe and ready (we ate them right away) and they're cheaper here than my regular store. Also got fresh basil, some other veggies that were priced well. My favorite thing I bought in this visit - tuna steaks! The place is clean and bright and a lot of check out counters and workers available if you have any questions. Will definitely come back as I pass by this place everyday.

Half of the store is produce which I don't mind. They have a good assortment of fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. The groceries are decently priced.

Always offer fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat but horrible parking for this particular store. very small. This is not a full size market though, more like Super King fresh.

This is a mini super king, but it gets the job done. The parking lot sucks especially when people don't pull all the way into their spots. The deli counter is super small, but they have the basics, although if you're looking for something specific, just take the extra ten minutes and go to the one further down victory. I was glad they have my favorite pumpernickel bread and fiancee was excited for his frozen pupusas and plantains.

Welcome to Lake Balboa. Newly opened Super King opened on July 7. There are now two Super Kings in Van Nuys. This grocery store was the late Jonathan Gold's (LA Times food critic) favorite grocery store in Los Angeles. This is a mini-version of a typical Super King. Hopefully it will alleviate some of the craziness at the other Van Nuys location. You come here for produce. There's some unbelievable deals it and people go crazy. Unfortunately, not all produce is of good quality. I wanted some red onions and all the red onions were horrible and old looking... almost going bad red onions out with flies all over them. Even the newer stock on the cart was almost rotten. Go for the product deals as most of the store is dedicated to fruits and vegetables. There some interesting European and Armenian / Middle Eastern products as well.

Super King is such a great market. The place is always clean, the produce is fresh, and they've got a really good selection of meats. Super easy to get in and out--parking's a breeze. Just a great neighborhood market that makes shopping feel easy. I always enjoy coming here

We first kind of did an overview of the whole place, checking out the bakery, the kitchen (wonderful aromas) produce, and then the canned and jarred goods. Then I worked up my courage at the kitchen and asked the guy if he could help me, because I had no idea what I was looking at, but it all looked and smelled amazing! He was so sweet and after asking, if we were vegetarians, which we weren't, he then gave us samples of two of the most popular dishes. These were both stews and had such a complexity of flavor. One is with ground walnuts, and pomegranate juice and small little meatballs, and the other was this amazing mix of herbs and greens and fava beans, which I might not normally choose, but tasted great! We ended up getting containers of those and then tried a couple different types of the rice. One had dill and other herbs in it, while the other one seemed to have lentils and maybe raisins? Once again, so good. We also got a quarter chicken and he packed them all up. It comes with this wonderful yogurt, herbed condiment. Our only mistake was not also picking up some flatbread to go with it. I picked up a chopped cucumber and tomato salad, and it's great because they have the dressing separated inside the container so it doesn't get soggy. Yes, like most places in Encino parking is going to be interesting! Their parking is directly in front of their entrance and at first it didn't look like there was anything, but then we realize there actually was. I found everybody friendly, even had some very lovely woman recommend some of the nuts and seeds to us. Speaking of which they have an enormous selection of both. I had no idea there were so many different types of sunflower seeds to name just one of the selections. In retrospect, I should've gotten some cookies! We will definitely be back, I would think it would be a great place to stock up and treat friends to an interesting set of new tastes. If you're vegetarian, they have an enormous selection as well.

But I couldn't find several ingredients I needed to buy, which is unfortunate since I would rather park and go to one store! I couldn't find a specific brand of liquid seasoning, there isn't pork belly, and the seafood section was really only shrimp, frozen fish fillets, and salmon. Only Asian noodles I came across were all Maruchan products. So yeah. I hope there's more products in the future here to really make someone do all their grocery shopping neede here! Parking lot can be very busy on certain times of day but it's a handy lot with different businesses for different needs nearby (bank, coffee, pharmacy, etc).

Whenever I go down to the Los Angeles area to visit family I always make it a must to get some quality Jewish and/or Israeli food! Unfortunately our options for both are limited up in Northern California, but Angelenos are spoiled with their plethora of options in this space! I hadn't been to Super Sal Market in years! Probably since I had lived in the L.A. area 10 or so years ago. Super Sal is located in the South San Fernando Valley (Encino to be exact) on Ventura and White Oak. It is a Kosher/ Jewish grocery store that has a wide array of Jewish/Kosher/Israeli products! I was in the need for some Israeli spices to bring back to my wife so I knew I had to hit Super Sal up! When you walk in you're automatically amazed at how many Israeli products they've imported! Anything and everything from cereals, shampoos, cutlery, and even ice cream!!! (Seriously, someone tell me how that works?? Wouldn't it melt on the way over here?) You honestly feel like you're in Israel! They also have freshly baked breads, a deli section, and a wide variety of Sephardic foods too! I'm not as familiar with Sephardic Jewish food so it always intrigues me to see new goods I didn't know about before! Even if you're not Jewish or Israeli, a visit to Super Sal Market is still a fantastic cultural experience getting to see all the meats, foods, imported items, and more! I give Super Sal 4 out of 5 stars because they are a little expensive (which I get because a lot of their products are imported or difficult to find). And I wish their floors were a little cleaner. But at a time when antisemitism and Jew hatred is high in America it's important to support Jewish shop owners. In a nutshell, if you're in the San Fernando Valley and are looking for Jewish, Kosher, or Israeli products, hit up Super Sal for a unique shopping experience!

She was upset about a small sample paper cup that was sitting inside the cart and accused them of throwing it there. The strange part is that my family member was still holding their own sample cup in their hand and told her that. Instead of realizing it may have been left there by someone else, the woman aggressively snatched the cup from her hand, and continued escalating the situation. The conversation was happening in Korean, and she began insulting them, saying they didn't even speak Korean and couldn't understand what she was saying. We are Korean by the way. All of this over a tiny paper sample cup that wasn't even theirs. The cashier seemed confused and was apologetic, clearly unsure why this woman was acting this way. What was more disappointing was that when it was brought to the owner or manager's attention, the response was dismissive. My family member was asked to let it go, not the worker It's concerning that someone felt comfortable physically reaching into a customer's cart and grabbing something from their hand, and that it was brushed off instead of addressed. Unfortunately, this isn't our first negative experience here. On a previous visit, we bought multiple cabbage that turned out to be rotten inside. I called immediately, took photos, and asked if I could return it. I was told yes, but the person on the phone sounded irritated, like it was somehow my fault. There are other options, like Galleria, where the produce is consistently fresher and the management is noticeably more attentive and welcoming. Very disappointing overall.
