My second time coming here and again the parking situation is bad. Very little amount of space shared by the whole plaza that had other stores. Other than that it's a nice market that opened last summer. Fresh produce and imported items is what I get from here. They have a small deli department but no meat department. As far as meat everything is prepackaged and ready to purchase. Customer service is ok.

So glad another grocery store is open here on Victory. The parking lot is a bit cramped and the stalls are mostly small diagonal ones, but there are a few larger and longer stalls if you have a larger car. The store has a very wide range of different vegetables and produce, and a mixture of SK branded middle eastern flatbread, jarred fruits, and even some eggplant spread. There were some marinated meats like fajita style chicken and flap meat--very interested to cook it and see how it stacks up since Vallarta is not too far away and there are other carnicerias in the area. The store is effectively split into two sections: an open air produce section and then 4-5 aisles with a frozen section adjacent. There are several security guards, and several supervisor type employees ensuring everything is going smoothly--I like that they are somewhat overstuffed in this initial period while they figure out operations and smooth the kinks. The service was all friendly and attentive, and I think this location has a lot of potential, I'm very excited to stay tuned and especially to try out lots of the interesting products and broaden my horizons!

I do grocery shopping a lot and often - I was looking forward to the opening of this store since the old 99 cents store closed. Before 99 this used to be Vallarta. Anyway I hope SK will stay - I think it's a little bit smaller than their other locations which js great because they'll just sell the best selection here perhaps. I bought some cold cuts and havarti cheese when I went last Friday - I love that it's not that crowded yet and while there is plenty of parking - this area is always tight like the spaces for each car is tight. That being said I also got some French bread and I noticed they have the brown bread that I love from Cheesecake and it's their own brand so it's affordable. I Of course you go here for the fresh produce, got some dragon fruit and kiwi that I know are ripe and ready (we ate them right away) and they're cheaper here than my regular store. Also got fresh basil, some other veggies that were priced well. My favorite thing I bought in this visit - tuna steaks! The place is clean and bright and a lot of check out counters and workers available if you have any questions. Will definitely come back as I pass by this place everyday.

Half of the store is produce which I don't mind. They have a good assortment of fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. The groceries are decently priced.

Always offer fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat but horrible parking for this particular store. very small. This is not a full size market though, more like Super King fresh.

This is a mini super king, but it gets the job done. The parking lot sucks especially when people don't pull all the way into their spots. The deli counter is super small, but they have the basics, although if you're looking for something specific, just take the extra ten minutes and go to the one further down victory. I was glad they have my favorite pumpernickel bread and fiancee was excited for his frozen pupusas and plantains.

Welcome to Lake Balboa. Newly opened Super King opened on July 7. There are now two Super Kings in Van Nuys. This grocery store was the late Jonathan Gold's (LA Times food critic) favorite grocery store in Los Angeles. This is a mini-version of a typical Super King. Hopefully it will alleviate some of the craziness at the other Van Nuys location. You come here for produce. There's some unbelievable deals it and people go crazy. Unfortunately, not all produce is of good quality. I wanted some red onions and all the red onions were horrible and old looking... almost going bad red onions out with flies all over them. Even the newer stock on the cart was almost rotten. Go for the product deals as most of the store is dedicated to fruits and vegetables. There some interesting European and Armenian / Middle Eastern products as well.

I ordered a the Dom and a supremo on their website at about 1:30pm on a Friday. It was ready at 2:30, which seemed like a crazy long wait for a sandwich, especially considering the place was empty when I got there. But alas. I wonder if it would have been quicker for me to just go in and order in person. Anyway, the wait (and 30 minutes of wandering around target to kill time) was worth it. The supremo - it's basically a slice of pepperoni cheese bread. Which is delicious. My late uncle's friend used to make us a pepperoni bread every year at Christmas and try as I might, I could never make it as good as hers. This one is closer than I've gotten! They forgot the side of Marinara for dipping, though, but it's fine because I have no chill and inhaled this thing on the drive home. While I was expecting something a little bigger based on the photo and the price, it was tasty and I would prooooobably get it again. The Dom - the real reason I'm here: a sandwich! I asked them to swap out the provolone for pepper jack, as I do not like provolone. The ratio of all the ingredients was spot on! The bread was soft with a little chew. Everything was fresh. Sandwich was a good size overall. 10/10, would eat again. Excited to go back to try a pizza or maybe a meatball sub or lasagna!

I would love to know the reasoning behind the alarming increase of price for a pound of prepared pasta such as cheese tortellini, which is available in the freezer section. My husband purchased several knishes from Mort's Deli. We understood these to be meat knishes based upon how they were described and priced. After bringing them home and cutting them open, we discovered that they were not true meat knishes, but rather potato-and-meat knishes. Had the product been accurately described, we would not have purchased it. We specifically sought meat knishes and paid the corresponding price (see the receipts attached). When I contacted the store to address the issue, employee Kate maintained that the potato-and-meat knish should nevertheless be considered a meat knish. Regardless of the terminology used internally by the store, the product was not what we reasonably understood we were purchasing. The situation became even more troubling when I repeatedly requested copies of the receipts. During the course of the dispute, I was informed that the receipts were not accessible. However, the receipts were ultimately produced and later emailed to me as ordered by the police. Notably, the receipts explicitly identified the product as a "Brisket Knish" and reflected the corresponding charge. The receipts therefore became an important part of understanding how the product had been represented and sold. Rather than resolving the matter promptly and professionally, manager Gail continued to escalate the situation unnecessarily. Ultimately, Gail instigated the calling of law enforcement to the store. Two police officers responded to the scene. Following their investigation, the store was ordered by the police to produce the receipts. The police officers became involved in what should have been a routine customer-service matter. With their assistance, the receipts were eventually produced after previously being misrepresented as inaccessible. What makes this experience particularly upsetting is that my husband is severely disabled, partially paralyzed, and walks with a cane. What should have been a simple request for fair treatment escalated into an unnecessary confrontation involving law enforcement. The needless inconvenience, travel, physical burden, and emotional distress inflicted upon both my husband and me were unfair and unjustifiable. As loyal customers, we found the entire experience shocking and disturbing. We sent the store owner an email detailing the incident but the owner never responded.

I think overall it's a good tasting sandwich but definitely not something I would, or could, eat on a regular basis. Aside from the chopped ground beef and cheese, it comes with onion rings, pickles, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, fries, ketchup and mayo. Lots going on in ONE sandwich lol. I could only eat half of it (keep in mind I ordered a half sandwich combo) so it was technically 1/4 of their regular size sandwich. Not just any smashed burger. It was the buffalo chicken with 2 beef patties, breaded chicken, mozzarella sticks and buffalo blue cheese sauce. I also got the chili cheese fries. I was intrigued when I saw a spot that I had never heard of with a good yelp rating, I had to check it out. After reading a few of the reviews, and looking at the photographs I was sold. The Antidote delivery was close by, but let me tell you I had difficulty finding it. I want to make sure that others are aware of the challenge because it is definitely worth it. The issue is the signage. I was confident when I walked in and told Arthur, the gentleman behind the counter, that there was no sign, indicating Antidote Delivery, he politely corrected me. It turns out that next to the "market" sign there is an exclamation mark Which shows antidote delivery. My eyes went right over it and I never saw it, as a result I found myself circling around, trying to find the correct location. Once you find it, you may be hesitant to enter thinking that this is just a liquor store. In fact, this market has been here for 25 years and they prepare a fresh submarine sandwich that is delicious. So here is what you need to know upfront, the ambience is not desirable, so plan on a takeout. But if you're looking for a local business with a fresh delicious submarine sandwich, I would give this a try. Arthur was very kind to explain that they do deliveries within 5 miles for $2.99. So if you live within 5 miles you can order your sandwich and have it delivered. It's convenient because it's also a liquor store. You can order anything else at the same time and have that included for that nominal fee. It's always nice to support local places, this feels like a family business but I didn't ask so I'm not sure. One thing I'm certain of, I will be returning.
