Visiting from out of town and tried to do self check out with alcohol. Michelle "helped" me by rudely saying I'm not aloud to "do that". I repetitively asked her do what? Because I was genuinely confused. She finally pointed at a small print saying no self check out with alcohol. I apologized and she rudely said "I guess I'll move you over here and check you out". At the end I told her we had no idea we couldn't do that and she replied with "everyone knows that". I then told her how we are visiting from out of state and how she should take in consideration people might not actually know that rule... aka be kinder and actually help people... she replied with "hahahah 90% of people in our store live here" then walked away... Very disgusted with how she chooses to work in customer service and is rude when she needs to help people. read more

The cleanest store I have been too. Check out their clearance they had some great items a couponers dream. You will love the helpful staff as well. They have a Starbucks inside which I enjoyed for a while before my son got fussy and we had to explore. The restrooms are great as well. Meat & seafood department closed early because "staff called out sick". As a manager, when staff calls out you step in to get the job done. Apparently that's not the case at this Ralph's, as management refused to step up and help pull the lobster tails we intended to purchase. Completely ruined our dinner plans. I had an emergency requiring that I get some dried ice to save my refrigerator and I rushed out to Ralph's. As I just had surgery, there was a courtesy clerk who helped me to get the things I needed and got the manager to help me get the $45 of Ice I needed. When I went up to the checkout lane, I noticed that the checker gave a hug to a customer who was very happy to see her and Deena clearly felt the same way. When Deena rang my order and I reached for my wallet, I realized that I left it at home. It was so nice to hear Deena say "No problem hun, it happens more times than you would think." She then set the order aside, put the ice in the freezer and asked me if I thought I could be back in 10 minutes which I did. She was so wonderful and is a real asset to Ralph's. I am a retired Von's manager and haven't come upon such sincere, genuine, customer of service from a heart that love's people. Been a loyal customer for over 13 years now. Though I may not agree with every staff at the location on every topic, Kimberly is one of the much better ones and truthfully, she's great. No, the customer is not always right. More often than not, yes, the customer has a issue or request that can be reasonably and adequately resolved in a timely manner. But as a "loyal" customer, get to know your people working there. Know their names, a simple fact about them. Start a conversation. Be polite. Socialize. Be a human. And don't complain in the middle of an absolute crisis that an employee wasn't perfect, because I'd wager money that you aren't perfect, either, Kyra P. I was at this location today, Vicki was my cashier. Before I even got to the blue floor sign she yelled at me not to put anything up till the lady in front of me was done. Then I put my stuff up and one of her friends was there and put all her stuff up right behind mine while mine was still being rang up. I'm like..is there a reason you screamed to me not to put my stuff up before I was even close enough but she can put all her stuff up right behind mine?! I'm like how is that right of you to do? Where's the equality?! My safety matters too just cuz it's your friend behind me doesn't mean she's safe. I have a child at home who's type one diabetic and I keep my distance, so should everyone else. There shouldn't be special treatment because she's a friend of a cashier. Here we go again. I went in today to buy a few groceries. There was a can of salsa broken in the middle of the aisle (not sure how the can broke, but....) There was a yellow caution sign overtop of it. There was NO ONE around this mess, which I found odd. Most places RUN to clean up wet mess, right? So I thought, lets just test this out. Took a picture. Time? 2:40 pm. Continued on and finished picking up my items. Just before I checked out, I went back to the aisle to see if anyone had cleaned it up. Nope! Still there. Time? 3:15 pm. Who leaves a wet mess in an aisle for 35 minutes with a sign over it?? While I was IN that aisle, TWO store employees came into the aisle to help a young woman find something (they were unable to help her, no surprise there), and another young man went through with a freakin' BROOM. SERIOUSLY? EDIT: I went back at 5:15 because I forgot something I needed for dinner. The mess was still there, but at least it was dry? That at least should save anyone from breaking their neck. Visited this store tonight - bad choice. Buying only two things - dog food and a bottle of wine. NO QUICK CHECK LANES - 2 reg lanes open and packed with people pushing overflowing carts. My choice wait 20 minutes in a line or no wine cause self checkout doesn't do wine. And the smiling fool is no help.... just no. Finding the dog food also a challenge. Signing is so poor. Store is WAY TOO CROWDED. TOO MUCH CRAP AND POOR SERVICE ... Avoid at all costs . I will. When the store's mantra is more self check out and poor service it's not worth the time . Went at night, around 830PM to buy some chicken wings at the meat section, they're out. Then went to the front customer service area to claim a win from my scratch card. The woman who assisted me said in a very rude tone, "Wow I just closed out in here." I responded, "Oh ok. I can't claim this here tonight?" She said, "I didn't say that. But it will screw up (something-something-something)." As if to alleviate her being distracted because I came, I even said, "Oh. I'm so sorry." Get this: She did not even respond back, not even an acknowledgment, nor anything to point out that it wasn't even my fault and yet I was saying sorry because I was a bother to her. You know, respect begets respect. In short; for her, I was the one at fault for simply being there to get front-desk service. I apparently really bothered her routine. Wow! Then she went on to process my scratch card; heavy sighs and her very gloomy face all over her. Not even a smile. Not even one glimpse of her teeth. None. When she handed my money, not even a "thank you." So I was still trying to be obedient and I was one who said thank you...no "you're welcome" from her. Still no thank you. Not even a closing greeting to wish me a good evening. REALLY WOMAN? Really?! If it's still within business hours, your customers have the right to get the services the store offers. Also, you do not put the blame on the customers if you were asked for help, or if your routine was distracted because a customer needed assistance. Think about it: Was there even a need for you to say "Wow I just closed out" in a sarcastic and very bothered tone? Was it really necessary? Front desk wasn't even closed. You were very much open. May I repeat I was there 8:30PM. Not midnight. As a matter of fact, when I stood there, the guy who also works saw me and asked what I needed, and when I said I wanted to claim the scratch card win, he told me he will page you so I can be assisted because you were the one in charged of front desk that shift. Your tone and statementon looking down on customers as if we are so much of a bother, you could have just kept it to yourself if you were really that ticked off of my arrival. I would not have known about how you felt, and I would not have went here to give this Ralph's a 1 star. I will make sure corporate hears about your attitude. Reading more on Yelp, I am not the only reviewer who's had an ugly interaction from you. Seems like your bad customer service and attitude are consistent. I am surprised Ralph's is still keeping you despite the consistencies of the Yelpers giving bad reviews mainly because of you. This Ralph's is so convenient to me, but ny advice to other Yelpers, avoid this woman unless you want your bright good day to turn into a bad one. I visit this Ralph's about four times a week (its only me and my wife so I buy only what we need that day) and have been shopping here for about 7 years. The employees are kind and helpful, but the produce is AWFUL!!! I can't tell you how many times I get home, cut open an avocado and its bad. This has also happened with onions, tomatoes, watermelon, apples, and cantaloupes. On top of that their organic section is tiny. There are hardly any vegan options. I have to travel 15 minutes to Sprouts in Valencia for my produce. I'm extremely disappointed to say the least. read more

Been going in this location for a year since I started working in the industrial center. I would order chicken wings at the deli for lunch. I noticed that the staff has certain responsibilities and will not go beyond what is necessary for the customers. One lady I approached her while she was just socializing with another associate near the deli and she just told me that the two who are preoccupied with other customers will be helping me. I was taken aback from such response. The check out is always complicated as I think they charge extra for a bag. Their automated system is entirely different from the other Ralphs I reviewed in the past. In fairness, the place is wide, clean and we'll stocked. I've lived in castaic for over 20 years and have never been treated as poorly as today at this location. Due to the corona virus- everyone is using extra precautions to avoid getting sick- but I guess at this location- attitude and horrible customer service also helps you from getting the virus too- must have been why when my mom needed help with scanning something and asked for help the lady that was at self check out was extremely rude- when the lady first walked over she literally used her hands to what look like "part the seas" idk if she thought she was Jesus Christ- but with her lack of kindness- a simple "excuse me" would have worked just fine... then the bag with turkey ended up ripping and I suggested that since the bag was ripped and the lady was touching the bag with her gloves- it might be better to get a new bag- rather than purchase turkey that was then touched with gloves of the worker (who knows what she touched with those gloves, how long she had them on for-etc..) rather than her being polite she made a snide comment and was clearly rather offended that I suggested to get a new bag for my family... soo offended she walked away AND came back- in a rather aggressive way to let me know that I was not standing over 6 feet away from her, and she wanted me to know that she changes her gloves, and washes her hands regularly she was overly combative and down right embarrassing for an older lady to be conducting herself in that manner. Someone needs to talk to her about good customer service, what happened to the customer is always right. A simple trip to Ralph's for turkey meat shouldn't have led to an issue and I will not be going there again. Back to work after a week long vacation. I forgot to get my lunch again...BLAST!! It was either go to Subway or 99 Cents...Wrong...I went to Ralph's. I have never bought anything from a Ralph's for a long time. Reason: I lost my Club Card and I was always lazy to get a Rewards Card (What They Call it Now). When I go to this location, I swear this was the most protected thing in Santa Clarita. There were LA County Sheriffs, CHP and LA County Fire with expensive cars living around the neighborhood. There is this weird roundabout which threw me off to get to this location on The Old Road. When I entered, it was the cleanest grocery store I have ever been to, but it was 830 in the morning and not many customers. I was looking for the Delicatessen, but I forgot they worded it as SERVICE DELI...lol. I found a Ham Deli Sandwich which comes in two big pieces. Much bigger than the Subway Sandwich and costs only $3.99. Lets say that sub was DELICIOUS!!! I got myself some Frito Chili Cheese Corn Chips for $1.68. My total is $5.67 with no tax. Wow..No Tax is good. They had the regular checkout and Self-Checkout...A BIG PLUS. Its like going to Home Depot or a Walmart SuperCenter and doing it on your own. This place was very comfortable. You got Firemen getting coffee at the Service Deli, I think it was a brand name Coffee shop. Not sure of the name. Not bad...now, I'll try the one near my home...lol. I recently had a party and needed something affordable for catering. A friend recommended Ralph's deli for chicken and potato wedges. This worked out perfectly it so happened to be that this location was a couple of miles away from the location we were hosting our event. I placed an order the day before the day of the food was ready at the hour I requested, the staff was so friendly and helped me in the car. The food was delicious WAY better than shakeys or Von's Deli. I would definitely recommend to place your order a day in advanced. The service and food was so great I placed another order today, prices are very reasonable and again the food was great. Our guest even complimented the food trust me it's worth it! I am so glad that I live near the granary square Ralph's and not this one!... for some reason this Ralph's seems dirty and the deli is disgusting! My sandwich had green stuff on the bread that was not supposed to be there ! The fridges need cleaning and the bakery is a joke. I love this Ralphs and have been to every one in SCV. The Castaic location is super clean filled with friendly and helpful people. I'm most recently impressed with their large and growing volume of organic and Gluten Free products! Everything is fresh in the produce department and fish department! Last week, my husband stopped at a different Ralphs location on his way home from work to pick up fresh, wild caught salmon. Upon arriving home, we both realized it smelled too fishy which usually means "not fresh" when talking fish. He took it back to our closer-to-home, Castaic Ralphs, and they happily took it in, helped him choose a new filet and refunded the difference. We also use the pharmacy and love how the Pharmacist and Tech's work above and beyond to get our insurance with the Doctor and do what needs to be done to get the script through when a problem arrives. I was thrilled when we moved to the Hasley Canyon area, and close to my favorite Ralphs four years ago! read more
