The decor and ambiance is very cute and welcoming but the coffee wasn't great. I ordered a cold brew with oat milk and vanilla and somehow it tasted like water. Also it was very pricey but given the location it was to be expected. My sister ordered an oat milk latte and she wasn't impressed either however the croissants are good. A great one time experience to relax with friends or alone. Step into the world of RL in this cute little coffee shop. Space is clean and neat. Staff is very friendly. Coffee and pastries are over priced for what you receive. Not bad and not great. My medium latte is sized between a tall and grande for those of you who know. I was surprised, but very glad to see they had oat and almond milks for dairy free alternatives! I got an iced chai latte, and felt like the lattes were pretty on par with Chicago's pricing. Our total for two lattes both with almond/oat milk and a croissant was $20 with tax. I would not recommend this coffee shop if you're trying to get work done, but more for meeting a friend for coffee. They do have wifi though. I went on a Thursday afternoon between Christmas and NYE and it was packed! I think because Ralph's is still new in Chicago and it's on the very touristy Michigan Ave. I would go again, but for me it was cool to see the NYC store here in Chicago. read more

Great new coffee shop on the Mag Mile! The drinks are made to perfection and the bakery items are just as good! The carrot muffin was moist and flavorful and wasn't too sweet so the true carrot batter flavor could shine. The staff were attentive and polite. The all white with pops of green and gold set the tone for the shop. It was trendy but comfortable and felt more secluded than being right on Michigan avenue! A must try if you find yourself in the area or stopping to shop at all your favorite stores. read more

The coffee is outstanding and the little bears on the cup are adorable. My God is the service slow. It's never acceptable to have people waiting 15 deep to either place their order or wait for their beverage and that's what you'll consistently find here. Either the baristas need further training, the processes need improvement, or both, but as things stand now the juice isn't entirely worth the squeeze unless you have 20 minutes to kill. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I visited Ralph's in Chicago, for the second time ever, on 12/28/22. I purchased a matcha and cortado for myself. As I left the building and stepped onto Michigan Ave, the lid of the matcha popped off onto the ground, causing a little matcha to get on my hand and a tiny bit on my Canada Goose coat. No big deal--I decided to walk back inside and ask for a new lid and pick up the old lid to throw out when I went back outside. I explained what happened to the barista, who was very kind and sympathetic. They explained that certain cups and lids go together, and the new employee working may not have known the difference, causing the lid to pop off. I said no big deal at all and thanked them for the new lid. As I went back outside to pick up the old lid, I bent over and the matcha spilled all over me. My coat and bag were COVERED in matcha latte. Clearly, none of the lids must fit and work properly if this happened a second time within minutes of each other. I was very upset and shocked. I ran home to try and clean my coat and bag as best as I could before taking my coat to the dry cleaner. On my way to the dry cleaner, I called Ralph's and asked for the manager. The person on the phone told me "they don't really have a manager for the cafe," and asked if there was a reason for the call. I said yes there's a reason for the call and explained the issue. At the end of the call, I told them I would appreciate it if they refunded my $30 dry cleaning bill or compensate me in some way. The person said they couldn't do that but said a "manager" (thought you didn't have one?) would reach out to me after they weren't busy. He took my full name and number, and I haven't received a call from anyone. I will NEVER shop at Ralph's cafe again and will continuously tell everyone I know to never go there or waste their time. Plenty of other better coffee shops in Chicago, especially ones with lids that work properly. read more

Finally got to visit here! Lovely ambiance, with fast service. I had a latte and it was decent, however, I would rather be served in the actual Ralph porcelain cups and plates if I'm having the coffee/ cake inside the cafe, rather than being provided with paper cup and paper bags. I sat in the cafe, and I got a blueberry muffin which was delicious but then it was served in a paper bag. I asked for a plastic knife to cut my muffin, but they didn't have it. I asked for a plate, I was not provided one. Then, I asked for a fork to eat the muffin with, they didn't have it either! (Not even a plastic one!!) - Just very disappointing!! read more

I love this place! It's so stylish, pretty, and classy. Chicago has enough modern coffee shops; finally, we got a vintage-style Ralph's Coffee. The decor and design of the place are to die for. It's just so beautiful! It definitely looks like it's out of the Gossip Girl movie. The only negative is that it gets so busy that it's basically impossible to find a free chair or table to sit. This place is very mediocre compared to other Ralph's Coffee shops around the world. The drinks were a 3 out of 5 stars, we ordered a hot chocolate, a matcha latte, and a regular latte. The hot chocolate tastes like some sort of instant mix, it doesn't have a rich flavor, the matcha latte was average at best, and the regular latte was decent. For food we got a blueberry muffin which I did not get to try, a cookie which was was good, and a butter croissant which was just ok. The ambiance was great, they did a great job with decorating it and setting a comfortable vibe for customers. If you've been to other Ralph's you know that you get the choice between having your drinks prepared in glass mugs to drink there or in paper cups to go, the only option in this Chicago location was to have them made in paper cups, the lattes also did not include any type of latte art like they do in other locations. I was really hoping it would be the same as other Ralphs since I'm local. I could see people stopping in for the first time to take pictures and have a cup of coffee but I don't see them returning due to the quality. I for one will not be returning. read more

So searching in Yelp I see a Cuban restaurant, and that's my fav, so I went in and I had a great early dinner. Cafecito would be at home in a pre-revolutionary Cuban building, when Art Deco architecture permeated much of Havana and the other major cities in Cuba. Plenty of outdoor seating, but I chose to eat in the cafe area due to time constraints. I had the Vaca Frita which I haven't had in over 60 years and wow, it was amazing. It came with the proverbial white rice, black beans with plenty of condiment, and maduros. Oh yummy. My Cuban grandma would have been pleased... The waiter was indeed, a Cuban American who had come over during the early Cuban diaspora. We chatted a bunch about the old country and had a pleasant conversation about being from the same province in the island. Great reminiscing, great food, great service. Yum.

Ralph's Coffee on Michigan Avenue: A Haven of Comfort and Flavor Ralph's Coffee on Michigan Avenue has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the city. This charming café offers not only exceptional beverages but also an inviting atmosphere that makes every visit a true delight. **The Beverages: Refreshingly Perfect** One of the standout features at Ralph's Coffee is their iced tea. From the delicious, perfectly brewed iced tea to the outstanding service and exceptionally comfortable seating, every aspect of this café has been thoughtfully curated to provide an unparalleled experience. The inviting vibe and attention to detail make Ralph's Coffee a standout destination for anyone looking to enjoy a high-quality beverage in a welcoming and relaxing setting. I've walked past Ralph's Coffee in downtown more times than I can count. It's always buzzing, crowds pouring in and out, a line stretching just far enough to make me say, "Next time." But today, next time finally arrived, and I now understand why it's always packed. I went early, just as the city was waking up. The sidewalks were quiet, the sky still wearing its morning haze, and to my surprise, Ralph's was calm, almost serene. For the first time, I walked through those dark green doors into a space that felt like a stylish nod to an old-school café tucked away in a European alley. Chic, inviting, and with the faint hum of soft jazz playing in the background, it was the perfect escape from the city's usual pace. I ordered a hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant. Simple, right? But together, they were a revelation. The hot chocolate was luxuriously rich, more like sipping melted Belgian chocolate than any powdered mix you'd find elsewhere. It had that perfect balance of sweetness and depth, with a velvety smooth texture that hugged the tongue. There were notes of vanilla and cocoa dancing together, warm and comforting, like wrapping yourself in your favorite blanket on a cold morning. Then came the croissant. Oh my god. It was everything you dream a croissant could be. The moment I picked it up, delicate golden flakes fluttered down like confetti. The outer layers were impossibly crisp, giving way with a soft crackle at the lightest touch. Inside, it was pure heaven, warm, buttery, and tender with a soft, pull-apart texture. The chocolate tucked within was just the right amount, dark, slightly bitter, melted into the folds of pastry like it was born there. Each bite was a harmony of textures: the crunch of the crust, the soft airy layers inside, and the silken chocolate melting into it all. It wasn't just breakfast, it was an experience. A quiet, perfect moment in the middle of a busy city. Ralph's Coffee has earned its reputation. I can't wait to go back, even if I have to wait in line next time. Totally worth it. read more

Rolled into Ralph's Coffee off Michigan Ave to grab a chai latte and a pain au chocolat--ended up dropping around $13 before tip. The latte was smooth and cozy, just what I needed, and that croissant was buttery AF, flaky with just the right amount of chocolate. The vibe's super chill--warm tones, polished wood, feels like a stylish little hideout in the middle of the hustle . Staff were friendly but kinda slow during the midday rush, which I get, but it's worth a mention. Only thing holding it from five stars is the price--bit steep for what you get--but it's still a solid place to decompress or have a casual chat. I'll definitely swing by again next time I'm shopping or need a mellow coffee break. read more

This stylish and modern coffee shop serves up delicious coffee that's well worth the visit. The space is beautifully designed, with a classic vibe that makes it more than just a quick coffee stop--it's an experience. Plus, it's connected to a Ralph Lauren store, so it's fun to browse through the classic, upscale fashion while sipping your drink. Be prepared for a line, though--it's a popular spot, and for good reason. But honestly, the wait just adds to the charm. It's the perfect opportunity for some top-notch people-watching, and you'll have time to check out their thoughtfully curated merch and admire the chic interior design. read more

Ralph's Coffee is a charming spot with a stylish, vintage vibe that feels straight out of a classic movie. The coffee is well-made and a step above your average café. I especially loved the latte and the buttery croissant that paired perfectly with it. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when the place gets busy. It's a little pricier than some other places, but the quality and ambiance make it worth it. read more

On Yelp, this place is called "Lavazza Espression" and on Google, it's "Espression by Lavazza." Lavazza is located on street level inside the hotel. It has both an exterior entrance on the street and an interior entrance inside the hotel. We stayed at The Drake and were able to apply our hotel credit at this cafe by writing our room number on the check. We picked up a large Orange Mocha Mio with almond milk ($7) and a bottle of VOSS water ($5). These both hit the spot. The Orange Mocha Mio is one of Lavazza's signature recipes. Lavazza is one of the few places in Chicago that still does specific Italian-style flavored mochas, which makes it stand out from a standard Starbucks. Our barista was Pouwedeo. She was polite and efficient. This cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, though outdoor seating is limited to a couple tables. There's a decent amount of seating inside. Lavazza is located on the far north end of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, making it a good stop for caffeine and snacks (e.g., pastries). They also sell breakfast food.
