It's time to give credit where credit is due. This is my local Raley's Supermarket, It's not the closest to my home but it's definitely the cleanest and friendliest. Aside from having the best produce, I love the Deli. Especially when ordering sandwiches to go. How can you beat the best prices and the best tasting sandwiches around? They are always fresh and made to order, hot or cold. My favorite is the Hot Pastrami with Pepper Jack served on Ciabatta roll. Too big to finish so I usually keep half for that late afternoon snack. You can get a Sandwich, Drink and chips for less then $6.50 try and compare that to Safeway or Mr. Pickle. Hope this helps..... Fingers read more

Great food and wine selection organized by region and with a number of wines from local wineries at good prices - competitive with Whole Foods in terms of selection and variety. The store is laid out in a very effective arrangement with tons of seasonal merchandise at reasonable prices. We bought sandwich fixings from the deli counter that were great and beat the price of shrink wrapped product in the refrigerated deli-meats section. Great shopping experience. read more

Hate it since the "remodel" the variety SUCKS now as they have made room for a lot of unnecessary garbage. The layout sucks, their prepared food is no longer fit for dogs, and their prices still suck. Do yourself a favor and go to Safeway. read more

This review is specifically for their meat department staff. I come here on a regular basis for london broil for jerky. All of the meat department staff are very friendly and helpful. I usually request for Casey to slice the meat and she does a phenomenal job and is always consistent. If she is not there, Todd or Bob does it and they also do a fantastic job. Keep up the good work. Raley's is becoming better and better...they listen to what the public wants...more organic and healthy foods to choose from. This location has a really good natural food department, but the fresh, organic produce department could be larger. The staff is very nice and accomodating and I love that they have shopping carts for the handicapped.... Oh, good choices in the pet department too...lots of healthier brands of pet foods and supplies... And love that they carry Izzi! read more

One of the best Raley's I've been to. Everything is usually nice and clean and organized. Things do tend to cost a little more compared to the competitions but if you become a regular shopper, with their benefits card, they mail all kinds of great discounts and freebies. I absolutely love their assortment of vegetables and fruits. They make it easy to shop organic! I'm not crazy about some of my experiences with this Raleys. Besides some not so great service, I'll never understand why they buy the cheapest produce bags which are impossible to open easily. But now I have something POSITIVE to say about this store. without thinking, I ended up in Raleys though I had sworn off the store. Nevertheless I needed to pop in and got a cart. I noticed there was a weird noise coming from the wheels and wondered why the cart was placed with the rest when Leslie, a young brunette Raley's employee, heard my cart thumping its way down an aisle she was working. She stopped me and asked if I wanted to trade carts and we made the switch. THAT is a valued employee going beyond her job and didn't need to lift a finger but she decided to help. Her name is Leslie and she is your outstanding employee that understands excellent service. Give that girl a big fat raise Raley's! read more

For some odd reason they have this store open while its being remodeled. Makes it hard to shop when everything is moved around and the store smells terrible. Tonight I went in to get milk at around 9 they already had areas sectioned off to start their construction including the milk isle. I'm all for improvements but this is the biggest cluster of a mess. We live in Placerville and we frequent this store more than any other. Their best asset is their people. Everyone is friendly and after a few visits, you're part of the family. Definitely a small town experience at this store, which is a good thing IMHO. In terms of selection, I would say it's pretty good, but not fantastic. They have a reasonable selection of pedestrian beers, an organic and natural selection, a decent meat section, along with the usual supermarket offerings. Additionally, they seem to do well with their pre-prepared hot foods, but I don't purchase those as I like to make my own meals for the most part. For me, I would like to see them do better with their grass fed beef selection. If they have it, they have very little and it's more expensive than Safeway's. Parking is not a problem as the lot is huge. The store itself has had some updates to some aspects while other things seem like they could use some repairs. The pharmacy is total chaos and extremely unhelpful. I used to shop here every week, but now I spend my hard earned dollars at Safeway on Missouri Flats! read more

New to the area and stopped in for groceries and coffee. The place was very busy; however, I was greeted with a warm smile and assisted with my drink order by Kim J. in the coffee shop. She was very helpful in assisting me in my selection and the coffee was delicious. Additionally, the store has an abundance of options and is larger than the other Raley's stores that I've been to, which I enjoyed. I can see that the staff were very busy, but felt they were doing well and were friendly. I'll definitely be back. read more

This is in relation the deli and corporates response to a complaint. I went in earlier this week for a sandwich. Waited over twenty minutes to get a grilled panini that was COLD. As in meet out if the fridge cold and cheese that wasn't melted. Wrote an email to express my displeasure, and this was the response: "Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your concerns regarding the store. At Raley's Family of Fine Stores we believe that it is of the utmost importance to provide our Customers with the absolute best service and experience. I love coming to this Raley's. Always clean! I love to get their sandwiches- always fresh, always delicious! I have panini's or the cold sandwich. Bread is always delicious, flavorful, and ingredients are also fresh produce. I also get the vegetable sushi which is also fresh and tasty. OH MY GOSH! Have you tried Ecart? Wow. You can pick out all of your groceries online, they do the shopping for you and bring your groceries out to your car! You don't even have to step one foot into the store! And if you're like me, that's a great thing. It saves time, money and I don't have to put on my makeup! Diana in particular has shown me unsurpassed customer service. The shopping is always done before the scheduled pick up time and Diana keeps me well informed of products that are unavailable or on sale. Thank you Raley's. My Friend Got Wrongfully accused of stealing. It was probably because we had skateboard and the "worker" was assuming stereotypes. He didn't even say sorry when my friend showed the receipt he didn't even apologize. Bad Customer service don't go here if you skate. Good Food though. read more

I shop here several times a week. It's generally a good store. Customer services seems to have greatly improved in the past year, more checkers and no more of the long conversations with other store employees that hold up the lines. I do,however, have suggestions for improvement: 1) Clean up the meat slicers in the deli!!! They frequently contain piles of old, exposed, trimmings that can mingle with the products being purchased. Yech! (Raleys: Don't let the health inspectors see this!) They also need to place a sheet of the plastic wrap between slices of soft cheese. 2) This store never seems to have 1 quart cartons of Sunnyside milk on the shelves, just an empty space where they would have gone. Seriously, this is an on-going problem in this one store. Why not just stock more? I hate having to travel to a 2nd store just for 1 item. I love the $5 Mondays but would like to see greater variety in the products offered. The rewards coupons are also a nice feature. read more

I don't usually shop at Raley's, it can be a little pricey, but I was pressed on time and they have eCart where you can shop online and just pick your groceries up at the store. The online shopping was easy and looking for on-sale items was a breeze. Some of my items were unavailable and they called me with suggested substitutions. When I went to pick them up, from the time I texted them to when they arrived at my car was three minutes! That's impressive. Once home, as I examined my produce and meats, they did a fantastic job at picking out high quality and ripe foods. I think they did a better job with my produce than I usually do. I want to give negative stars for the remodel! Whoever designed this should be fired or beaten or made to shop here! I have lost hours of my life trying to navigate this new remodel, it makes NOOOOO sense. The fact that I'm even yelping a grocery store means I'm pretty passionate about my dislike for the order of this store! The other drawbacks are,l; overpriced(I shop at Whole Foods for the same price or cheaper for packaged organic food),refrigerated produce that shouldn't be. Raleys customer service and return policy keep me coming back, well they did, but no amount of customer service can make me return to the chaos that is now raleys boo raley's make your store make sense again! Oh their cakes for bdays are great but stay away from the deli case, there are more ingredients than a 99 cent freezer meal in them so don't think you are getting a quick healthy meal by going to the deli case. read more

This Raley's has the potential to capitalize on its Placerville Drive location, but the store is not on par with the grocery options on Missouri Flat Road. The store feels a bit neglected, as evidenced by the worn flooring and rust on the shopping carts. One night there were three shoppers with dogs in the store. I don't think it's appropriate to have dogs in a store where fresh food is being sold and I'm fairly sure the law agrees. On the plus side, they're almost never crowded and their ready-made thai peanut salad is quite tasty. read more

I work at a local business and my associates and I eat at the Raley's deli quite frequently. We really enjoy their made-to-order sandwiches and paninis. We sometimes get the morning breakfast paninis or burritios and all of their lunch-time sandwiches are great. My favorite is the Eldorado panini. The staff is almost always pleasant and happy to help. Sometimes they are very busy, but do a good job of moving the customers through. read more

This isn't our local Market but go here regularly. The produce is fresh and they have most of the things I like to cook with. My only complaint is that when they were on strike they stood out in front and were rude to the people that frequent the store and the hands that feed them. Oh well. This grocery store has the BEST customer service in every aspect. From the super helpful and friendly employees in EVERY department (I've interacted with them all many times), to the outstanding managers, especially Eric and Art! I've only been in the area for about 4 years and I've never encountered such a wonderful, positive, cheery environment! What a pleasure always! I'm even getting used to the new layout after the remodel! Although I have a much closer grocery store in Pollock Pines where most of the employees are wonderful, I have been treated by two different cashiers on two different occasions not only rudely, belligerently, and unacceptably who don't have one inkling of a clue about being nice and customer service. I know one has been there for a long time and works days mostly. One has been out on medical but back now. I actually get along with everyone, so pretty astonishing I've had those experiences and try to avoid seeing them altogether! Raley's has been nothing but a total pleasant experience all these years and filled with the most wonderful products, and who also go out of their way when needing something I've found. Well worth the time/extra gas round trip for me to shop there. They can always count on me as a loyal customer in return. read more

totally unhappy with Raleys. it takes forever to find what you came to store to buy even if only a few things. Nothing is logically placed in store. For instance cottage cheese, sour cream and some yogurts placed in an end cap, Not by the milk products. Now the majority of the fresh vegetables are "organic " AT A much higher price. This store looks like they had El Dorado Hills in mind NOT a Mountain town with a small town feel. The old Raley's had a homey welcoming feeling upon entering , not a" wanna" be ritzy grocery store with much higher prices !!! lots of more reasonably priced food appears to be dropped. Honestly I am not interested in spending a fortune on food , much less on my social security income. I have shopped at Raleys Placerville for over 40 years, ever since we moved here , But this remodel has forced me to shop places like Save Mart and Walmart. Did Raleys really mean to drive us away ?The Deli self serve salads are a joke , and scarey, now only a small glass over the food , with a raging flu epidemic going on , everyone has their hand on the handles ,while coughing and sneezing! Raley's dies a good job if providing natural foods to Placerville. They also have a surprising Asian section- did not expect that. I would like to see more local produce. It's apple season (mid oct) and their bagged organic apples are from chile! It's spring there, they must have been in cold storage for 6 months! I just came from Raley's Placerville. There were not one cart available when I went in. No hand baskets either! I just got 3 items because of that. When I went to the register there was a woman helping a man with his order at the first register and behind him a woman with about 1/2 basket full in front of myself, another woman behind me. Eric opened the register next to us so the woman behind me moved to him so I went behind her. Eric refused to help me 2nd because he said the woman that was in front of me in the other line should get checked out ahead of me. He was VERY RUDE! I told him I knew she was in front of me in the other line, but didn't know she wanted to move over. I would've gone to self check but it's clear at the other end of the store. I've been shopping at Raley's Placerville for 40 years.......I won't be going back again. Raleys....you can do a better job with your hiring and get some better people working there. This Raley's is the best! Their customer service is top notch. Every time I shop there, I always get at least one person who goes above and beyond to help me with what I'm wanting to purchase. This last time, I asked if they had catfish, as I didn't see any in the case, the guy in the meat/fish department who is always so friendly and quite knowledgeable in his field said to hold on a moment and went into the back to check. Sure enough, they had just gotten a box in and hadn't had time yet to put it out, he picked out three very nice filets for me. Another visit, when I went to the meat department, I asked the woman stocking the case if they had any bones for my dogs, she asked me what size and type of bones I would like, and for what size dogs, went into the back and cut and packaged several for me to choose from for my dogs. To me, it gives one the feeling of being back in a small town butcher shop. I love our little community here, and especially our Raley's, never a bad experience in the 12 years we've lived here. It's not the closest store to us, but we always go out of our way to shop there because we always leave knowing that the customer service is a priority for them, if they don't have it, they'll either tell you when it's expected in, or will try to get it in for you, and if a sale is coming up they'll even tell you when the sale on the item you're asking for is due!
