Wake Med is fortunate to have her and I benefitted greatly from her knowledge and experience. The front desk people, Jodie and Yvette were always friendly, helpful and happy. Her assessment skills are advanced and she was able to detect underlying medical conditions that were causing my chronic pain! Afterwards, we were able to manage the pain with the appropriate treatment plan. She is extremely organized and provides me printed out handouts of my workouts with visuals and instructions. I am so grateful for my WakeMed family, as I feel like I got my life back. Thank you so much! Staff: I want to give a shout out to Carma and Jillian at the front desk for their welcoming smiles and humor. Everyone has been very kind. Sometimes, I bring a family member or friend, and staff has accommodated them. Facility and Environment: The facility has efficient gym equipment and bands for everyone's needs. They have a private room for initial evaluations, but most of the facility is an open concept where you work one-on-one with your PT. Sometimes, I am in the facility by myself when I schedule late afternoon sessions near closing time, but if you are scheduled during other times, you could be one of maybe up to 5 patients dispersed in the area. There is enough space for you and staff. The facility is also very convenient because my Orthopedic doctor is located across the hall, and my PCP is located upstairs. Building: The facility is connected to the WakeMed North Hospital building, but at the back side. When facing the front of the hospital, drive to the building's right side and turn the SECOND LEFT for the main entrance. (The first left is an oval parking lot mainly for Wake Orthopedics or for Physician's Practices visits. You'll be confused if you park here for your first visit.) The main entrance has a semi-circular drop-off area which is great for wheelchair access. There should be a sign on the sliding doors that say something like, "WakeMed Physical Therapy and Rehab." When you walk through these sliding doors, go past the restrooms, and the door is at the end of the hallway, to the right. If you cannot find parking in the open lot, there is a parking deck diagonal to the entrance, but there's always free parking spots around the back of the building. If you ever get hungry after your appointment, you can go to the WakeMed Cafeteria for a bite. They serve great lattes at the coffee bar, too.

It's a conflict of interest and emergency or not,, they don't want to help you because I won't switch! I'm in pain with my knee, my appt is Friday with my Orthopedic that helped me with my shoulders. Your an orthopedic urgent care!!! What the fuck does that have to do with seeing me on a regular basis??!! Take care of the medical situation that brought me to a URGENT CARE!! So it cost me 75 dollars to be refused service bacause I wouldn't switch to them.

Also none of the staff at EmergeOrtho were communicating with me as to when I'd be seen or that they were running behind. It's hard to be sympathetic when the staff don't seem to care that they're making you wait an absurd amount of time to even be seen. My appointment was before noon, so the fact that they were already that backed up that early in the day isn't a good thing. When I arrived, I waited in the lobby for over 30 minutes before asking the front desk if they were still able to see me. She said they'd bring me back in 2 minutes. I was taken back about 5 minutes later (not a big deal) and the attendant who took me back to the exam room told me the doctor would be right with me. I then sat for over 20 minutes without being seen by anyone. At that point, I was over it so I got up and left.

I filled out a form online to get an…read moreappointment with their urgent care, and literally one minute later, received a phone call to schedule. They were able to get me in almost immediately. Once there, I was quickly brought back, given xrays, and then saw the orthopedic specialist on staff, Dr Blaine Etzel. He immediately put me at ease with his warm, laid back and caring personality. He asked me lots of questions, gave my knee an exam, and showed me my xrays. He even gave me a copy of them without my asking. He explained exactly what was going on with my knee, referred me to PT, scheduled me for a follow up appointment in 4 weeks to come back here and see a knee specialist to make sure PT was working, and just answered all of my questions so thoroughly. He even offered me an immediate treatment to bring the swelling down and help with the pain, which I decided to accept, and am happy I did. Today, the next day, I'm already feeling much better, even though I know I still have weeks of PT ahead of me. I was so impressed with Dr Etzel and highly recommend him - it couldn't have been a better overall experience. I believe he works urgent care Fridays-Sundays, if I'm correct. The lady at the front desk was also super kind and easy to talk with. I just moved here from Austin, TX, where the options for a sudden knee injury are either generic urgent care or hospital emergency room. These places are useless, and all they do is xray you, give you crutches, and then have you call around to schedule with an external orthopedic specialist. This takes time and effort, and then you take the first available appointment, which might be a week or so out. Then that person will finally do the correct exam, tell you what they think is wrong, and then write a referral to PT. So it all takes a very long time with no quick answers. This was SUCH a better, one-stop experience, and I left knowing what to do! You can even come here for the PT or an MRI if you chose. They have it all here! Just so impressed by this place and grateful they were here for me.

The staff is always professional and they go the extra mile to assist. The reception phone etiquette is top tier. They're always able to accommodate me with rescheduling and today I had to make an appointment for a Walk-in for my daughter. This location was highly rated for sports physical therapy and urgent care needs. My daughter is an athlete and often she experiences sprains when competing. Today's walk-in appointment was excellent. We met with Jake & Anna. They saw us right away and helped us with choosing an affordable & supportive ankle brace. Thanks to the team. I love how convenient this location is from home and the late evening hours.
