Her assessment skills are advanced and she was able to detect underlying medical conditions that were causing my chronic pain! Afterwards, we were able to manage the pain with the appropriate treatment plan. She is extremely organized and provides me printed out handouts of my workouts with visuals and instructions. I am so grateful for my WakeMed family, as I feel like I got my life back. Thank you so much! Staff: I want to give a shout out to Carma and Jillian at the front desk for their welcoming smiles and humor. Everyone has been very kind. Sometimes, I bring a family member or friend, and staff has accommodated them. Facility and Environment: The facility has efficient gym equipment and bands for everyone's needs. They have a private room for initial evaluations, but most of the facility is an open concept where you work one-on-one with your PT. Sometimes, I am in the facility by myself when I schedule late afternoon sessions near closing time, but if you are scheduled during other times, you could be one of maybe up to 5 patients dispersed in the area. There is enough space for you and staff. The facility is also very convenient because my Orthopedic doctor is located across the hall, and my PCP is located upstairs. Building: The facility is connected to the WakeMed North Hospital building, but at the back side. When facing the front of the hospital, drive to the building's right side and turn the SECOND LEFT for the main entrance. (The first left is an oval parking lot mainly for Wake Orthopedics or for Physician's Practices visits. You'll be confused if you park here for your first visit.) The main entrance has a semi-circular drop-off area which is great for wheelchair access. There should be a sign on the sliding doors that say something like, "WakeMed Physical Therapy and Rehab." When you walk through these sliding doors, go past the restrooms, and the door is at the end of the hallway, to the right. If you cannot find parking in the open lot, there is a parking deck diagonal to the entrance, but there's always free parking spots around the back of the building. If you ever get hungry after your appointment, you can go to the WakeMed Cafeteria for a bite. They serve great lattes at the coffee bar, too.

When I was moved closer to her for another treatment, I asked her to leave because her coughing was spreading germs all over the place. She made a sarcastic remark. I immediately left, went to the front desk and canceled the rest of my 36 appointments. A business that lets sick employees amongst its customers, many elderly, should be avoided. BTW, the treatments I received were great by the therapists.

However, OPT on Ligon Mill Road in Wake Forest tops them all! Olivier and his staff were recommended to me through a home PT after a full knee replacement. Adding to this surgery were complications from Vertigo as well the right knee in the same shape as the pre surgery left knee was. My appts have been on time, positive mental attitudes from all staff members, along with just the most friendly professionals, and very knowledgable. Full knee replacements can take a lot of time, patience and work. Having such trained pros helping us to recover, heal and strengthen without overdoing it - makes all the difference! I know what I am going to be going into with another full knee replacement coming up, but with the care of OPT I am ready to schedule the next. Thank you all for the incredible first rate patient help you give all your clients!

Blue Cross…read morenow requires pre approval for physical therapy, and Raleigh Ortho finds it easier to charge YOU than to play their required role in approvals and appeals. The team at this office took 3 direct requests (each time saying yes I'll do it), 2 calls to Blue Cross' provider to check status, an escalation to therapy management and 6 total weeks to appeal a pre approval denial. The appeal was successful but Raleigh Ortho is holding us responsible for all the charges in the interim and says it's our fault we didn't discontinue therapy for our child during this period. All for therapy where the therapist never even laid hands on our child, just assigned exercises. I guess I should be grateful, their failure to do their job led us to a far more successful physical therapy practice elsewhere.

I suffer mercilessly, but I'm not the only one. RSD has adversely impacted all in my family and any & all relationships I've had, friendships or otherwise. It has stripped my finances, decimated my livelihood & squandered my future. I cannot stress enough the extreme physical, financial & mental toll caused by this merciless illness & the adverse impact it has had upon my family.

Life-changing. I've been going around all these years thinking that I wasn't very limber, thinking…read morethat you're supposed to wake up with stiff joints and tight muscles, but it doesn't have to be like that. Working with Dr. Bill, I've addressed pain I didn't realize I was carrying. My daily headaches are gone. My feet used to give me trouble if I stood or walked too long; now they no longer ache. I can turn my head to check my blindspot while driving without having to turn my shoulders! My pain is gone and my range of motion is better than ever. My lower-back pain (due to years of sitting like a potato) is resolved. He also showed me the right (and easier) way to sit with proper posture. It's an incredibly simple fix, but it's not obvious until you've been shown by an expert. In some ways, I feel better than I did when I was 20! haha It does take some work. Dr. Bill will show you how to do a number of highly targeted exercises and you'll be expected to do them between sessions (as best you can, but he'll also share videos with you so you can continue to improve on them). But the amazing thing is that the exercises are designed to help me at my level, so even though they require some work, I don't feel fatigued like I used to feel whenever I tried to work out. I feel energized, which is amazing if that's how most people feel after exercise, because that's new to me. If you're thinking - yeah, yeah, but my pain isn't that bad - maybe you're right. But pain is really the last indicator that something is off, so if you're at the pain-stage, then it's something that already needs addressing. It's like when a car's tires are unbalanced. Sure, it can drive from A to B, but after a while the unevenness will catch up to it, and it'll start having bigger issues than if you had just balanced the tires at the start. On top of the exercise routine Dr. Bill has shown me, I've had cupping, which is way more beneficial than I could've imagined, and dry-needling, similar to acupuncture. In general, Dr. Bill likes to use a balanced and client-specific approach, so you'll get a solution that fits your highly unique situation, and not some cookie-cutter program. It costs money, for sure, but it's a pretty standard rate for the service he provides. Not to mention, the service and the results are by far better than anything I've gotten anywhere else. Like I said above, life-changing.
