So basically,, you can have an orthopedic emergency,,, BUT unless you agree to switch to their…read moreDr's. It's a conflict of interest and emergency or not,, they don't want to help you because I won't switch! I'm in pain with my knee, my appt is Friday with my Orthopedic that helped me with my shoulders. Your an orthopedic urgent care!!! What the fuck does that have to do with seeing me on a regular basis??!! Take care of the medical situation that brought me to a URGENT CARE!! So it cost me 75 dollars to be refused service bacause I wouldn't switch to them.

I waited for almost an hour before just walking out because like most people, I have a job that I…read morecan't just take hours off of to wait for such a long time to be seen by a doctor. Also none of the staff at EmergeOrtho were communicating with me as to when I'd be seen or that they were running behind. It's hard to be sympathetic when the staff don't seem to care that they're making you wait an absurd amount of time to even be seen. My appointment was before noon, so the fact that they were already that backed up that early in the day isn't a good thing. When I arrived, I waited in the lobby for over 30 minutes before asking the front desk if they were still able to see me. She said they'd bring me back in 2 minutes. I was taken back about 5 minutes later (not a big deal) and the attendant who took me back to the exam room told me the doctor would be right with me. I then sat for over 20 minutes without being seen by anyone. At that point, I was over it so I got up and left.

Can't say enough good thing about the practice. Very timely on appointments. The maximum wait time…read moreis less than 5 minutes. Friendly staff that makes you feel important. Dr. Harris takes his time to explain the course of action and never feel rushed. I moved an hour away, but well worth the drive to get quality medical care.

Sadly, I have decided to stop using this practice. I very much like Dr. Stephen Peterson, my…read moreprimary care physician from this practice, but I have now had 3 separate issues with their billing department. 1. I was charged for a full 30+ minute visit ($255) for what was actually a virtual Covid diagnosis call, which should have been something like $25 as advertised at their office. This happened 10 months ago and I am still getting the run around from their billing department. I spoke to someone months ago who said she was looking into it and has never called me back. Their outgoing voice mail says they will return voice messages within 24 hours. They have not once called me back after 3 or 4 follow-up inquiries. 2. They charge a higher amount for 30 minutes-or-less visit, as they do for a 31-to-40 minute visit. If I schedule a 30 minute visit, and it happens to go over by a minute or two, I don't think it's my responsibility to watch the clock. I find it dishonest to let the appointment run over and then charge me more. The efficiency of the office flow should be on them, not the patient. I am not a difficult patient who sticks around and asks multiple extra questions. This happened on a different office visit than the Covid call mentioned above. Strike 2. 3. I just got charged a $25 appointment cancelation fee for a recent appointment I had to miss due to showing Covid symptoms. From my point of view, I didn't cancel the appointment -- they did! Of course, no once answers when you try to call and discuss (see point 1). 3 strikes, time to move on to someone else.

He understands the need for people, particularly active people, to get back "into the game" as quickly as possible, and with the least invasive methods, when appropriate. I have referred many people and they have all shared my positive experiences. I have never had a problem with waiting to be seen and he has always been professional and approachable. I highly recommend him for any sports-related issues you might be having.

I waited in the wait area for almost 20 min past my appointment time before a perky RN took me to a room and asked me why I was there. She asked if I minded if there was a student to which I of course didn't. The student was the first to come in. He was very patient and tried to get all the info he could to give some advice. This is where my visit went pear-shaped. I was then shown into another room where His Lordship, Dr. Kanaan agreed to grant my request for an audience. This guy had all the bedside manner of Jim Jones. The Dr was more interested in humiliating his student then any explanation of care. He ultrasounded my elbow without preamble, saw fluid & proceeded to tell me that there really wasn't anything he could do. "If you want I can TRY to drain it but it'll just come back" is honestly what he said. I asked what he would recommend and he said "I'd get it drained because I don't like to wait". I am not kidding you. He was gentle during the procedure I will give him that, but once done & ungloved he tossed the needle he'd used in the general direction if his very full sharps container...missed & had to pick it up & re-toss, got up & left. I guess the appointment was over. No post-care instruction...nothing. The RN came back to give me the discharge for the billing person & sent me in my way. I REALLY wish I knew some sports guys as I'd tell them there has to be someone better than Bob Kelso's stand-in!!

Dr Alonso is my newest favorite doctor. I was referred to him by Durham VA community care for my…read moresleep apnea. My claustrophobia and recalls on CPAP is why I'm being treated via a mandible device for my sleep apnea. The process was relatively easy. He made cast of my upper and lower teeth. The impressions are then used in lab to construct my custom mouth piece that pushes my jaw forward to prevent my tongue obstructing my breathing and snoring. I was lucky my device came back within 3 weeks. His staff called me in for instructions they are very helpful and friendly. He explained how to adjust the device which has a tiny key that can push your jaw further out or inward. My device came in a nice dental case for storage and cleaning it is a snap. It gets brushed and cleaned as my own teeth then dry it store until bedtime. He also made me a retainer to wear in the mornings after removing my device. I practiced inserting device with Dr until I was confident. Now I wasn't sure id feel any relief or get any sleep with this but boy was I pleased. Dr had told me that I have a large tongue which is why I have obstructive sleep apnea. Id tried several over the counter sleep guards and tongue devices to no relief. My 1st night I was convinced omg it keeps me from grinding or locking my jaws so much when my mind is racing or can't sleep. It so helps my TMJ pain already the next morning I awoke feeling that I actually got gd rest and wasn't so tired. Dr Alonso and I discussed getting the approval to add Botox injections into my TMJ areas to help with pain as well. He also suggested trying Voltaren gel on my jaw at night which is helping. If you have sleep apnea and have insurance ask your Dr are you a candidate. Its something I wish I had years ago. After a few months I will have new sleep study while wearing device to check if its helping my sleep apnea while the monitoring is happening. BUENOS NOCHES!

I…read more was told by Dr Park he could make me at least 50% better if not 100% The treatments were very expensive. Almost double the price of any acupuncturist in the area. He kept having me come back all the time not making me better until I finally put a stop to it. When one is in chronic pain you will do almost anything to get out of it. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I tried to complain to the practice manager about the exorbitant prices. I also talked to Duke patient advocacy about Dr Park's promises and the cost. For months I tried to get a phone call back from them. When I finally did they did nothing. This was a complete waste of money and to me very unprofessional. Again I felt very taken advantage of. I guess Duke thinks they can charge so much because they're Duke!
