I was to have 36 physical therapy visits. I have done 21/2. Today while getting treatment, one of the employees was coughing constantly very loudly. When I was moved closer to her for another treatment, I asked her to leave because her coughing was spreading germs all over the place. She made a sarcastic remark. I immediately left, went to the front desk and canceled the rest of my 36 appointments. A business that lets sick employees amongst its customers, many elderly, should be avoided. I have worked with talented Physical Therapists with the aid of trained Therapy Dogs helping patients with certain needs. I have worked with a number of talented trainers. However, OPT on Ligon Mill Road in Wake Forest tops them all! Olivier and his staff were recommended to me through a home PT after a full knee replacement. Adding to this surgery were complications from Vertigo as well the right knee in the same shape as the pre surgery left knee was. My appts have been on time, positive mental attitudes from all staff members, along with just the most friendly professionals, and very knowledgable. Full knee replacements can take a lot of time, patience and work. Having such trained pros helping us to recover, heal and strengthen without overdoing it - makes all the difference! Recently I experienced a terrible vertigo attack. Upon discharge from the hospital, the unsteadiness and unbalance feeling still exist. Upon my family physician's referal, I found out the Orthopedic Physical Therapy at Cary does have a therapist who specializes in vestibular rehabilitation therapy. My husband went through physical therapy many times in this center, so I had full confidence in its therapists and program. It was such a success - the first hour of therapy by Grant, it was 80% sucess. I could immediately walk down the stairs without using the elevator. I have just finished physical therapy sessions that started in April. Please take everything that everyone else has said and double it. They really are as amazing as they sound. Tow orthopedic surgeons had told me they could do nothing for me. However, I still had the pain. My family doctor suggested maybe it was time for physical therapy. Boy, was she right. Now, I can sleep all night and do most things that I want to during the day. Since most of this took place during the pandemic quarantine, Many weeks these folks were the only ones I saw other than my husband. I have been going to Orthopedic Physical Therapy Associates for many years. I have had 3 right shoulder surgeries, this last one being a reverse total shoulder replacement surgery; 2 left shoulder surgeries and one left ankle surgery. I am so glad that I found Olivier Chassin. He is an excellent therapist, very knowledgeable, stays with you all the time, encouraging you to keep going and work harder even when you don't want to, but at the same time he is gentle. He knows exactly what he is doing. Besides, he is the nicest person. Earlier this year with no warning and no pre existing problems, I damaged a disc in my back. I was in such pain and sleep deprived as well. My 13-year old son had soccer injuries and was referred to Orthopedic Physical Therapy Associates by my son's doctor. The treatment and professionalism is as recommended in other reviews. Walked in to OPTA with pretty severe positional vertigo brought on by head trauma I had suffered 2 weeks prior. They were recommended by my primary care physician. From the scheduling of my appointment right thru the one and only session I had with Grant, this was a marvelous experience. With my torn rotator cuff now healed and half frozen shoulder, I met Olivier for the first time this week for rehab and he is fabulous. I was hesitant to even do therapy, because in the past i have been to places where they just stick u in a corner with a rubber band or bike. He was all ears and listened and was very kind and understanding. I feel he truly wants you to succeed and get better. After examination and asking me my symptoms, we proceeded on my shoulder. He was gentle yet firm, pushed me but kindly. I had better movement of my shoulder after I was done then I have had in six months. He believes I can repair my shoulder on my own with his help and not require surgery. I am so ever grateful with tears in my eyes that I found a place close to home that cares, and I won't live a live in pain and misery. In fact, I hurt my neck yrs ago in an unrelated fall and the therapy is helping that also. I would recommend them to everyone. ;) read more

This is my first time ever to experience a medical place quite like this. It is almost surreal. The ENTIRE staff is very welcoming and inviting. It is obvious that everyone cares about all the patients and they work very hard to earn your trust and respect. My therapist is Grant Nelson and I am extremely happy with the progress I've made in almost 6 weeks. I think what is really neat is that even though Grant Nelson is my therapist.....I could easily see any other therapist in the office and would feel just as comfortable. All the staff smiles and waves when you arrive and asks how you are. This is just an awesome facility and I will continue to be a patient for as long as I need PT. I love OPTA! They are like a family to me! One of the PT assistants even came to one of my games! I tore my acl and mesniscus July 26th, an injury that usually has an 8 month recovery time and due to their great therapists I was released for my senior season of bball in only 4 months! My physical therapist was very aggressive in my recovery proccess which is exactly what I was looking for and what I didnt get at my previous PT place. A Duke orthopedist in Raleigh diagnosed me with plantar fasciitis recommended me to Orthopedic Physical Therapy in Wake Forest since it was close to home. He said they were excellent and I am pleased to report that was definitely the case. My therapist was Holly Schmitz. The results have been superb. About a two weeks ago I realized I hadn't taken any ibuprofen for foot pain for a whole week. My treatments have ended, but I continue my home exercises and stretches with continuing improvement, and will continue them as prevention of recurrence. It was easy to get an appointment that fit my schedule. The center operated on time, and was clean and up to date. All staff from the front desk to the therapists and assistants were cheerful and helpful. I saw some clients who were clearly dealing with challenging conditions and the staff was always kind, patient, and proactive with them. I have seen some PT centers where staff were disinterested, so seeing a positive atmosphere here was noticeable to the plus side. I was also confident that I was getting the right number of sessions for me; I have been in PT situations where it was clear that they were piling on unnecessary sessions. I had shoulder surgery with Dr. Speer at Duke and had a choice of 3 PT places. I chose Orthopedic Physical Therapy Associates because of the background of the staff. It was a GREAT decision. The place is very clean, and inviting. The staff from the front desk to the therapists is wonderful, educated, pleasant, encouraging and patient. I have gone to PT places before where they send you home with a sheet of paper of exercises to do and then when you come in you do exactly what you do at home...NOT HERE!!! You do more here and you do the exercises 1:1 with a therapist. They tell you what is going on at all stages of your care and prepare you for when it is time to 'leave the nest'. I am thrilled with my care here and after 4 weeks of PT I was raising a 3lb weight over my head (I had a shredded bicep, bone spur and slight tear of the rotator cuff); I consider that really good!
