30JULY25 | 1522 For: All and Veterans (Must Read)…read more MedAccess Urgent Care - Youngsville: Formal Complaint Date of Visit: 28 July 2025 at 11:51 AM I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the treatment I received at MedAccess Urgent Care - Youngsville during my recent visit. After my evaluation, I respectfully provided verbal feedback to the Physician Assistant while waiting for a copy of my treatment summary. During this time, I was unexpectedly approached by a man who identified himself as the 'Manager of Physician Practices.' He projected an immediately unapproachable and authoritarian attitude. He escorted me just a few feet away from the front desk to a semi-private area, where he began questioning me in a harsh, condescending tone. I felt intimidated and repeatedly asked him to return to his station and to leave me alone--requests he blatantly ignored. Without my consent, he took possession of my personal identification and medical documents, stating that he had the authority to make copies for his records, despite my lack of authorization. When I objected and asked for my treatment summary--a standard patient right--he refused. I attempted to rationalize this by mentioning "insurance fraud," which made no logical sense in the context. Instead of resolving the issue, he raised his voice, ordered me to leave the premises, and stated that my treatment statement would be mailed. This level of hostility and lack of professionalism is absolutely unacceptable, especially in a medical setting. Under fundamental Patient Rights, his behavior appears to violate the following standards: - Right to respectful and dignified treatment - Right to receive a complete explanation and copy of your treatment plan and discharge documents - Right to privacy and protection of personal health information (HIPAA) - Right to refuse any unauthorized use or copying of your personal documentation Regardless of his position or education (as advertised on his business card), his behavior was intimidating, unethical, and in clear violation of professional medical conduct. No one seeking medical attention should be treated with such disregard. I hope MedAccess leadership addresses this situation immediately. Until then, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this facility to anyone in need of respectful, secure, and professional urgent care. Respectfully, Proud U.S. Veteran | 30 Years of Military Service

I saw a PA at Heritage Primary Care (Rita) concerning a digestive problem I was having. She wanted…read moreto check me for allergies so she had me to come in for a Blood Draw. I went to the office for this blood draw and when I walked in as I always do said " How are you doing this morning" The woman never spoke to me. I sat down and rolled up my sleeves for her to decide which arm she wanted to draw from. She chose my left arm. When she started the blood draw she just shoved the needle in my arm and my blood poured out into the vile like I had never seen before. My arm immediately started hurting bad. I told her about my arm hurting bad and she said is it still hurting and I saw yes. She said it would be alright. SO I got up and left with my arm hurting bad. I went to front desk to check out and as I was standing there I told the girl that my arm was hurting really bad. She said I'm sorry. That's it. I left and was hoping it would stop hurting but it never did. I believe she hit the nerves in my arm or went through the nerve with her needle. Never felt this kind of pain with a blood draw before. I gave it my arm 4 days to get better and it never did so I called on that Thursday and told the front desk about my arm still hurting and that I wanted to come by on Friday if it is still hurting and have someone look at my arm that something was wrong. She told me ok. So on Friday before Lunch I went there and told the girl at the front desk about my arm and what happened and needed someone to just look at my arm and speak to me about it. So she gets up after a few minutes and goes to the back. She stays a few minutes and 2 people came in after me while she was still in the back. Then she returns and checks those 2 people in and she just sits there. One girl came to the front and semi whispered to her and she immediately looked over at me. The reception said it's this one right here and pointed at her screen. The girl she said this to looked at me. Then she left to go to the back. The reception sat there a few minutes and told me that I would need to leave and come back in 2 1/2 hrs. I told her no that I was there already and all I needed was for someone to look at my arm and tell me it was going to be better or not. The girl then asked me my date of birth. So I told her but told her that this shouldn't be an appointment for me and my insurance company to pay for. That this was done to me by someone there that draws blood. She goes to the back again and stays. When she returns she said someone would be out soon. The girl was obviously judging me with her mannerism and eyes. Like I was a bother. The girl dressed in black not sure if she was a tech or what. She said can we talk out here in the waiting room. I told her sure yes but, not sure you want your other patients to hear what I have to say or not. So she took me to just past the door and close the door (the door that all walk through to go to the back for their appt. So I stood there and told her what happened to me and that I need someone to know what happened and to make sure my arm was going to be ok. Someone walked through the door while I was talking to her. So she finally decided to go to a room and a girl came to the corner where we were at and told her she could use room # 3 I believe. So we go to that room and again I knew that I was part of a gossip section with the front desk girl telling them all about me. They all stared at me not smiling and not friendly. Inside the room the girl in black looked at my arm because I showed her my arm and was telling her about everything again. She looked at me and gave me reasons why drawing blood didn't seem to be a concern to them. She told me that anything can happen when drawing blood and I said yes especially when someone apparently didn't want to draw blood that day or was irritated or something by not speaking to me when I entered the room after asking " How she was doing that day" . I told her the way that lady pushed that needed by jabbing it in my arm that I guess so anything can happen and will apparently. Then the girl in black told me that the lady doesn't even work here she is from an Agent. I told her oh I didn't know that but, no less she was working for them and she had no business drawing blood. I told her how bad my arm was hurting and that I had given it from Monday to Friday to stop hurting before coming back since it didn't seem to matter the day I had my blood drawn when I spoke up about it. The girl in black wanted me to go out front and make an appt to be seen. That they needed my Insurance Information before I could be seen, I told her No that I shouldn't have to pay and my Insurance company either for something they did to me there. No Concern!

Waiting time is always better first thing in the morning but they do their best to get you in quickly, much better than the ER's waiting times. The doctors/nurses at MyCare are very kind people and make you feel comfortable. However, the front desk staff aren't the friendliest people the few times I've come in. Healthcare in this country is unreasonably expensive, and unfortunately, when I needed my ears checked and all that was needed to be done was to clean them out, my bill was over $200 after insurance. If the need arises, MyCare 365 is my preferred urgent care location, albeit the high healthcare prices.

We found Avance Primary Care while searching online. Their staff and care reviews were excellent and appt days and times seemed very easily accessible so we called. That very first phone conversation with the receptionist (unfortunately I didn't write down her name :/ it may have been Victoria??) was extremely warm and patient and helpful as I explained mom's needs. She listened carefully and asked thoughtful questions and recommended Dr. Lam. (Mom had definitely not been exactly keen on this whole new doctor plan and had been dragging her feet for a very long time.) Upon entering the office we were immediately greeted cheerfully and warmly by Anthony and Shirley at the front desk. They definitely put mom at ease throughout the check in process with their easy lighthearted banter and professionalism. Anthony directed us to a private computer cubby and very patiently explained how to fill out all the new patient forms electronically. Medical Assistant, Cierra, brought us back to the exam room and completed the initial assessment and vitals with just as easy and welcoming and professional manner. She was also very caring and thoughtful and concerned as I expressed some thoughts about mom with her privately. Dr. Lam came in and from the moment she stepped into the room she worked some magic and absolutely engaged mom from the get go! She was smart, insightful, caring, respectful, and gently got right to the heart of mom's needs while addressing and calming her fears and concerns. We made follow up appts with Dr. Lam and two of their other on site health care practitioners to additionally address mom's varied needs. She also set up referrals to two other outside practitioners in the area for more specialized health care needs. We feel we definitely made the right choice! Mom expressed that she would feel very comfortable going to see them on her own for any care she may need!! Thank you to the whole staff for a wonderful first experience! I'm sure mom will talk about this positively with her friends at The Gardens and I would without hesitation recommend this practice! Elaine Elbeery (for Barbara Poole) Winterville NC

You are greeted instantly by friendly faces, and even as a new patient, it's a quick and easy process. This was unlike most places that make you fill out and sign 8 pages of stuff, which I really appreciate. Service is smooth and fast, yet friendly and precise. Facilities look very clean. I was fortunate enough to have no wait at all, but even if there were other patients, everyone working was ready to move as soon as you walk in. The entire visit took less than 1 hour. The quality of care was outstanding and the friendliness of every single employee we interacted with was amazing. The intake lady, Addy, was so kind and helpful. Regine the nurse who cared for me was kind and so warm. I was very nervous and she helped me feel more comfortable. The EKG nurse (I believe was Chantal/Cherene) was sweet, funny and made me more relaxed. Dr Rossi, the anesthesiologist, explained everything and was very professional and kind. The anesthesia nurse (a man, very kind!) was great. I don't recall his name because I was getting very loopy! Dr Correa my orthopedic surgeon was terrific. I met him earlier this week to schedule the surgery - he's funny, kind, and takes time with his patients. Overall, a great experience - considering this was a surgical procedure and I was a wreck. Review of WakeMed North Hospital - Emergency Department…read more I brought my wife to the WakeMed North Emergency Room around 5:00 PM due to severe shortness of breath and dizziness. She is pregnant, which made the situation especially concerning. Upon arrival, the front desk and triage staff were welcoming, and the triage nurse stated he was not comfortable with her vitals and would push her to the top of the board. Blood was drawn and swabs were taken in the waiting room, which initially gave us confidence that her condition was being taken seriously. Unfortunately, that is where the urgency seemed to stop. We waited two hours in the waiting room before being moved to a hallway bed, where we waited another 45 minutes before a nurse approached and asked what was wrong -- despite triage notes already being taken. After explaining again that she was pregnant and short of breath, we were told the doctor would come see her. Another 45 minutes later, a lab technician arrived appearing confused, stating she was there to draw labs. My wife explained she had already had blood drawn and pointed to the IV already placed. The technician said she needed to place another IV and draw more blood, seemed unsure whether she could use the existing IV, and left to "check." She never returned. Instead, another nurse later drew two more vials of blood from the original IV and left without explanation. Eventually, the doctor came in and told us my wife had the flu and that medication would be started. We then waited another 30 minutes before the original nurse returned, performed an ultrasound without explanation, said she needed to chart, and left again. She returned about 15 minutes later with discharge paperwork. When we asked about the medication the doctor mentioned, the nurse said she would check. She then informed us that the prescription had been called into our pharmacy, and that we could "start it tomorrow," even though it was now 10:30 PM. My wife was discharged in the same condition she arrived in -- still short of breath, dizzy, and without receiving any medication, breathing treatment, or symptom relief. Aside from bloodwork and an ultrasound, no treatment was provided to improve her condition before discharge. While we understand emergency departments are busy, the lack of communication, repeated confusion among staff, excessive wait times, and discharge without symptom improvement -- especially for a pregnant patient -- were deeply disappointing. This experience left us feeling unheard and unsafe, and it did not reflect the level of care we expected.
