I rarely if ever write a bad review - or any review for that matter - but I felt that I had to share my experience in order to warn others. Beware! Raleigh Nails reminds me of a nail salon way back from the 70's. A time warp. Outdated. Not good! Time-consuming. Poor results. Stressful to go there. Never again! The pedicure that I had there left my feet so rough that I had to file and re-shape them when I got home. The technician couldn't even file the callouses or shape my toe nails, leaving them rough and uneven. I was nervous because she didn't seem to know what she was doing. And the manicure was a mess- the owner was obstinate, not listening to my questions. For example. when asked several times, she could not explain different options such as gel nails, dip, color choice, nail shape, etc. Despite my repeated questions, she could not explain anything at all...the differences in the nail processes such as gel nails, dip, etc. I was astonished! It was a time consuming and stressful experience having to ask the same questions repeatedly with confusing non-answers and inevitably poor results. Frankly, it was all I could do to stay there and try to be patient. An ordeal. I will have to have my nails redone this week. $100 down the drain! I have had gel nails/dips for many years. The owner at Raleigh Nails poorly communicates with customers, does not listen, offers few options and cannot explain what she is doing - and it's an incredibly slow ordeal. If you have three hours to spend for thick, poor looking nails, this is your place! I highly recommend my technician Vivian at NAIL KITCHEN in Midtown, near Starbucks...but there are many other highly qualified technicians there as well. Make an appointment because they are very busy. A slight bit more expensive but the technicians there really know what they are doing, are extremely well trained and knowledgeable with excellent communication skills, offering the latest in techniques. I have enjoyed consistent service and top notch results there for many years. And the atmosphere is fun and relaxing with a wine and beverage bar. Free cold drinks and bottled water offered - or bring a coffee from Starbucks next door! A relaxing spa experience. Great customer service. A Gorgeous Salon! They offer reward points, too, and because they do such a great job, you don't need to go there as often. So you save money with outstanding results! I was trying to save a bit of money by going somewhere else...never again! Now I have to pay to get my nails redone. They look terrible. $100 down the drain. I am very particular, and I believe that NAIL KITCHEN is the best salon in Raleigh. Period! Be smart and enjoy a relaxing experience as you are pampered at a five-star salon. Your nails will look gorgeous and you will feel great! And Remember. You get what you pay for! read more

Very disappointing service today. The red i chose was brighter than i thought, so tried to change to another color. The technician gave no recommendations and after a couple of tries said "no more changes, this is the last one"! no polish since had actually been applied. She didn't care if i liked the color or not. She proceeded to be very sour faced and cur my toe! i will not return!!! read more

They are so nice, you feel like family there. Anna knew exactly what I wanted and gave me a fun, sparkle, glitter, kitten nails for the holidays. She even fixed one for free days later when I messed it up cleaning my house. Customer service is key to me and they have it on lock, they seem to know every client that comes in. It's my moms preferred mani/pedi spot, but I've only been there once WITH her, years ago and I've been there sporadically over the years before I moved to Raleigh, but somehow every time (even if years apart) they remember me and send me off with "tell your mom hello". just think it's so sweet and goes to show they care, plus my nails look banging. I would say make an appointment, they take walk-in's but I've always had better luck with an appointment, bc they seem pretty busy read more

I definitely will not be coming back here and I wouldn't recommend it. I'm not one to write reviews, but I was very unhappy with my experience. There were only 4 customers when I went, but they were not taking walk ins after me. They told people it would be a 45 minute wait when they arrived and turned them away. They did my gel manicure very rushed and quick. The nail artist was applied it pretty sloppy and had to use her nails to scrape it off my fingers, yikes. My cuticles were cut, and very deep to the point it stung afterwards. There was still paint on my fingers when she was done, and I asked her to remove it and she said no it was fine. I left very unhappy with gel polish on my skin and rough around the edges. I won't be back here, sorry. read more

This is what i get for going to an unfamiliar nail salon. I was rushing and didn't have time to go to Cary where i usually go. This overall review is based on the work of the nails. NOT the customer service. They were nice!! However my nails? I got a fill-in, and got the colors yellow and black. The tech rounded my nails out without asking did i want them that way. The polish is lumpy and uneven. Oh, and she purposely cut MY NAIL under the acrylic nail and just left it alone. The lady did not rush at all. But her work seems as though she was in a rush. The workers in general were very nice. So i won't give below 3 stars this time. However the presentation will not bring me back. My nails are ugly. read more

As someone mention this is not an upscale salon. But for a quick pedicure I enjoy it. I usually come here when in North Raleigh. The signature pedicure ($35) is my favorite it definitely does make your feet feel soft and smooth. The employees are always nice and don't rush you out even if you come in near the time they close. I've never done gel polish here but they do have lots of color options for regular polish and gel polish. read more

It doesn't have bells and whistles, and no they don't offer you drinks , but I have been getting my nails done here for the last 7 months and love them! I get compliments on them and the price is comparable to others. I see regulars on a first name basis in there all the time. If you are looking for a spa effect you would probably be happier somewhere else, but they treat me very well. read more

My experience here was great! My technician was attentive and friendly. She did a good pedicure although I feel she could have been a tad more thorough. The spa is clean and everyone that I encountered was friendly. Probably will not return because I don't live near this particular spa and I would definitely seek a more relaxing thorough pedicure where I am counting the days until my return. read more

I went on a Monday afternoon to get my nails done. Much to my surprise is was extremely crowded. It took a little while to be seen. They did a good job, not amazing. You could tell they were rushed to get the next person in. They did a great job painting my nails, but just an ok job on the cuticles. read more

I've been going here since my first mani in 5th grade, the constant gel nail fills that I grew so addicted to in my junior and senior year of Highschool, for prom nails, and for every time I come back from college & want to splurge. I am a regular here- every 3 weeks I get shellac gel on my nails and a pedicure. I have had a couple different ladies but now I ask specifically for Katie, she is the absolute best! She takes her time and massages each leg for about 10 minutes! That is extra long in pedicure world. They are very accommodating and always have a special going on. Today it was a free parrafin hand treatment with a manicure & pedicure. They have gel colors to match regular polish so your toes and nails will match even if you want shellac gel on your fingers. The pedicure and manicures are excellent! Prices are reasonable and definitely cheaper than the mall salons/fancy spas. I usually pay $50 plus tip for shellac manicure and pedicure. read more

I had a botch job tho, it reminded me of what my dogs nails looked like after getting clipped! Now I'm stuck with a crappy caked-on color... Never again! I haven't ever left a review anywhere, and unfortunately this isn't a positive one. I live in north Raleigh and have known about Raleigh nails for years. Probably 7-10 years now. I have only ever been a handful of times and while the quality of services provided is okay, it's never been spectacular. I knew this going in today, however, I was alright with just okay since I was in a pinch and needed my nails done. There was a short wait, which was fine. Plenty of color selection which is great. The problem is that I sat down to get my nails done with the nail tech, she did the nails, but by the 3rd coat I realized that she'd done a very sloppy job. I figured she'd file away access polish, surely she wouldn't let me leave without making sure the manicure was up to par... unfortunately not. The gel polish glued my nails to my skin. The polish was all over my fingers. Polish over and past my cuticle/nailbed. For a lack of a better visual, it looked like a 10 year old had done my nails. I am a school teacher who hasn't been paid for 2 months and i don't think anyone has money to waste. I did not want to leave the salon unhappy since I am a paying customer. Politely, I asked if she could fix it or remove the gel polish and I told her why- the paint job was messy. She starts filing away at the sides. With a file which skins up the sides of my fingers. And proceeds to tell me they aren't messy and that they look fine. This is where the real issue starts- I asked her once more if she would just please remove the polish. She calls over a client and proceeds to ask what's wrong with the nails. First off, why would a client be of any help? They aren't the professional. Second, it really doesn't matter what this stranger thought considering it wasn't her money or her nails. I asked again for her to remove the polish. She starts raising her voice "you always do this every time! This isn't fair to me. You need to speak up sooner!" I was AMAZED! This woman has never touched my nails and I have NEVER had an experience asking someone to remove polish-EVER. If it hadn't been such a terrible quality service I probably never would have spoken up. Point blank period- you do a bad job, the client isn't rude, just do what the client asks. I paid for my manicure but I should have refused. Never ever will give these nutty people my money again. Wish I could be compensated for the 2 hours I wasted at this gross establishment. read more

Went here twice. The first time I had an appointment. Apparently lots of other people did, as well. One customer told me Oh, they always say that whether there is a slot or not. Wanted acrylic, bumped up to Gel. When cutting cuticles, make slit under big thumb that took three weeks to even heal. That was the first visit. Then went back for a refill. Walked in. Didn't even attempt an appointment. Technician put gel on with a trowel - very thick. One already pulled off. Woman yawned throughout the procedure and then couldn't come up with the color I asked for but I wanted to leave so badly I took anything. Aaaah! I love this place! I have been coming here for about 3 years and always have a pleasant time getting my nails done. Everybody is nice and friendly. I normally call to make my appointments, because they are always busy on the weekends. If they have a problem with one of my appointments they call me to let me know. This is the only place I can count on for my gel manis to actually last about 3 weeks- maybe even longer. Highly highly recommended! read more

They can't keep an appointment and will make you wait for an hour even when you confirmed twice. While you are there they are sending people away saying come back in thirty minutes then taking those same people in front of you. There is nothing special so go somewhere else. This place is horrible. The walls are bright puke colored, it is impossible to feel relaxed. I came in with my sister and they told us it would be a 15 min wait to get pedicures. They proceeded to put our feet in the tub and took over 30 minutes to see us while the water our feet was in got cold. They don't offer you anything to drink so if your looking for a relaxing glass of wine look elsewhere. During the pedicure she made me bleed..seriously the worst pedicure I have ever received. My experience was a lot different from the previous reviews. I do not get my nails done very often and had never had a pedicure. I walked in and they took me right away. Full pedicure was delightful and my nails only needed new polish. I got French polish on hands and toes. Very nice job! read more

Very clean and well kept place. The employees are friendly and do a great job. They take both walk ins and appointments - personally, I think appointments are more secure and they usually are ready for me as soon as I come in. I also like that they take their time doing my nails because my hands and feet feel so much better afterwards (and look superb). I came to have a good time and a good time was what I had!
