Thank God for a ramen place close to home! Some might say this place is not "town" good, or " Japan" good. Sure it's hard to compare to town and especially Japan, but wow this place is so much better than some of the other places around the west and central parts of the island. If you live in or near Mililani, go check this place out, if you don't, but happen to be passing through God's country, check this place out, you will not be disappointed! So far we've tried the Tan Tan, spicy seafood, and Katsu curry and fried rice. All were good, and the prices are so reasonable! Worse gyoza ever. Ordered a party tray. Very disappointed. Thought it would compare to Genki or Nagoya. But it's no way near. Soggy wrapper. And the filling is unrecognizable. I think it was cabbage. I'm not sure what the mystery meat is. read more

Really wanted to like this place but was disappointed. Ordered chicken katsu curry to go and first of all they put the curry directly on the rice so the rice soaked up the curry and was soggy. Because of this there was basically no curry for the actual chicken katsu... and as for the flavor of the curry itself, it was bland. The gyoza was fried instead of steamed and also was just okay. Miso was good. Ramen broth was good. Noodles were good. Fried rice was good. Portion size was good. Service was good. Food came fast. Servers were attentive and friendly. The place was really clean with a tasteful decor. The only sore spot of my visit was the gyoza... It was straight trash. Ramen places are a dime a dozen here in the islands. I'd like to say I've patronized 90% of the ones on Oahu. This place probably has the worst gyoza I've come across. Bad enough for me to actually review it. The gyoza in the ramen I ordered was pretty much just raw cabbage. I kept eating them hoping it was just one but they were all raw and all mostly cabbage. The pan fried ones that came with the combo sets were cooked through but, if you check the photos, they were the same and just all filler. Will I patronize Rakumen again? Definitely. It's convenient for me, the rest of the food was great and I have yet to try the other things on the menu. I definitely don't recommend getting the gyoza. read more

The overall food was not tasty at all. The Thai tea that I ordered was not original. They basically buy the Thai tea cans from Costco and transfer it into the pitcher and charge you $4.75. The picture also show boba inside but they charge an extra .75 cents for it. They need to get rid of the boba drinks. Not authentic at all. The price is over rated and that's why they give a 15% coupon to off set and bring customers back. read more

The fried rice was delicious! The chili paste/oil was amazing! Bought lunch for my roofing crew and everybody loved it! First time visit... a few days ago... very good noodle shop. Nice bonus of gyoza from 2-4 pm. Gyoza was just ok... Ramen was great! Noodles cooked perfect, good toppings. Not a fan of bamboo shoots and there was a lot, but others may enjoy it. Also had their lemonade drink...that was good too. I'm not a fan of real sweet, so lemonade was a little too sweet for me. Took home their coconut drink for hubby who is a coconut fan...he enjoyed it. Would return to try other items. Like the cleanliness and the condiments were all available on the table. I have no idea how this place only has 4 stars... where to begin. First of all, we ordered the black garlic tonkotsu ramen and the garlic shrimp fried rice in addition to the calamari... that was the best ramen I've had in my entire life. When the fried rice came out I quickly realized we ordered too much food... but mark my words, we will have this for lunch over the course of a couple days. Phenomenal food and very attentive, patient service. As I type, the server is boxing our massive leftovers for us... very casual and friendly place with modest prices. I was able to order food for two with appetizer and drink and leave a solid 23% tip all for $50. I think the only negatives are the parking lot (not their fault) and I just wish the calamari were spicy, but spicy isn't for everyone. read more

The food itself isn't bad, its quite good actually! The noodles were fresh, the broth was good, and everything was well seasoned and decently priced! The reason I'm knocking off two stars is because the service wasn't good. I understand that this isn't their fault because they just opened, and they are very busy, and severely understaffed. That doesn't change the fact that everything was unorganized and all over the place. Phone orders/online orders were coming out before dine in orders, and some other diners were waiting for quite a long time for missing order items. We actually waited over 30 minutes since we sat down to get our food. I know that they're trying their best, and I'm sure that as time goes on things will get smoother, but as of right now I have to give Rakumen Mililani at 3 out of 5 stars. read more

First time try the new place. We ordered the combo A&C with different options. Good portions, fast and tasty.

The food was pretty good, just as I would expect. They have a "happy hour" from 2pm-5pm where certain dishes will come with a free order of gyoza. Prices are fair. The dining room was nice although I bought take out. Service is fast and friendly, they answer the phone, read back my order and packed everything very nicely. I got gyoza ramen during the soft opening and also received a free gyoza. The gyoza was really good and crispy. Too bad that's not what I paid for. I spent 13.50 just for a salty egg that wasn't defrosted all the way (that didn't come with the ramen, so I had to pay an extra $1.50) and thin ramen noodles. The broth was okay. Do NOT waste your time or money here. Quality of food was poor. The one piece of char sui in my mini ramen was sliced so THIN, you could read a newspaper thru it. The broth was salty and flavorless. The gyoza fell apart when you try to pick it up with chopsticks so it's impossible to dip in the sauce. Filling was mostly cabbage and just a big mess. The fried rice was soggy and also flavorless. No evidence of pork in it at all. Just looked like brown rice. No kamaboko in the fried rice and barely any egg. Overall, a huge disappointment in taste and value. read more

The lady who cashed me out came out from the counter to hand me my drink and opened the door for me! This was our first time ordering from here and it was easy to view the menu online as well to order online. It's was fast and easy especially with paying online all you have to do is pick up your food the time they give you after completing your order. I never order boba drinks but the honeydew melon was DELICIOUS comes in a cute cup! This will be our go to place for dinner from now on. read more
