Great for family dinner and birthdays. A bit pricey but so worth it. The time limit to wait is the downside but it is still worth it.

Food sucks, nothing special about the food at all then its overpriced just cuz u have fake gorrillas movin around and some live exotic fish. Though my 4yo loved the fake gorrillas, still not worth the money. read more

I frequent Rainforest for some time and today's visit was not up to par. The service was absolutely neglectful! Our waitress not once came for refills or condiments i.e; ketchup for fries we ordered & hello?! Salsa for chips. We had to flag several employees for condiments, refills and including check. Food ordered was hamburger, parmesan sandwich with fries which were great tasting. However, the other 2 chicken paninis were cold and tortilla chips stale. I did bring it to managers attention and she claimed that paninis are cold sandwiches. I beg to differ... chicken was cold. Waitress went on break and we weren't informed until Evelyn other waitress told us. Evelyn was SUPER in the 30 seconds we had her vs the 1.5 hours of other employees. read more

This restaurant has HORRIBLE customer service. Today was my God daughter birthday and her mother thought this would be a nice place to celebrate her birthday, but to our surprise it was the total opposite. First we get " Dirty" silverware and when we ask for a manager we get a Team lead name Matt who wanted to refer to as Matthew.;however his badge said Matt. Matt brought us silverware from another table and thought that was excellent customer service. Unbelievable. Than we get the worst waitress ever Darlene. She was the waitress from HELL...She was rude, childish, and lack customer service skills. She had no ideal or training when it comes to working with large party. Darlene did know how serve a large party. When Darlene took our order she stood at the head of table, instead of her going to each person to take their order. Darlene needs to be train immediately. Secondly we requested napkins several times and she final responded sarcastically "I said I would get them". She storm off like a child and return with the napkins and threw them on top of my dirty napkin. I could not believe her lack of professionalism. I was so appalled by her behavior i ask for a manger again but instead I got the Team Lead again. Matt/ Matthew who failed again at providing customer service. Unfortunately I will never return. I will be contacting corporate. I hope Darlene and Matt/ Matthew receive proper training. I wish I could give them a negative five star but since Yelp makes you give them at least 1 star to post ur review. They will get only 1 but the deserve zero. Thanks to Darlene and Matt/ Matthew. read more

Visited for the first time for a nephew's birthday. Thought it a little weird having the entrance only inside the mall. Once inside, this place totally stands out. Food is a little pricey and good (not great). What was great was the customer service. At least our servers took very good care of us. The decor is good, and might even scare some of the little ones. Overall a good experience worth a visit. read more

If zero stars were an option that would be the score. HORRIBLE. AWFUL. Stay away. Dismal service. Stone cold inedible food. No drink refills no attention to detail. This place needs to close down. Avoid avoid avoid. Robot elephants and noisy sound effects aren't even close to enough to making this place a destination. My first visit will be my last. NEVER AGAIN read more

The food was great, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was supreme for a family first time experience. Our son and granddaughters loved the rainforest cafe. We had the appetizer platter, steak and ribs, chicken fried chicken, and hamburger. Everyone enjoyed their food! Thank you for the experience it was grand! read more

Food wasn't spectacular. We ordered the appetizer combination. Our son got the chicken fingers and fries. His food was bland. Ours was blatantly frozen food heated up. We ordered 2 specialty drinks. Totally not impressed. Again, they were OK, but I could make better at home. The atmosphere is fun and the server was friendly and efficient. But the food is totally not worth the high prices. Go one time for the novelty and then find some place better next time. read more

You know those shows on the Food Network were the owner wonders why the restaurant isn't making money?? ONLY REASON WE STAYED IS BECAUSE OF MY DAUGHTER - I OFFICIALLY HATE THIS PLACE. (what I wrote to the restaurant - I highly recommend writing a complaint if you've had a bad experience too http://rainforestcafe.com) WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER. Waited 20 min to get seated - had issues with that. Waited to order, waited to get food, and food was NOT worth the money we paid. Complained to manager, but DID NOT see any results. Only positive was the balloon girl. They had 2 workers sitting/gossiping at the front table when were waiting to get seated. Bartenders didn't look like they were doing anything (talking/not working), all workers we saw w/the exception of ONE was NOT doing anything - that one person was taking an order. Manager did NOT appear to know how to do her job, and then the hostesses openly said that they did not know which person was in which section. We were not greeted, and the hostesses were snobby and unsure of what they were doing. One of your servers almost physically pushed me out of her way, and would have but I moved my arm out of the way. Food was NOT flavored, and the vegetables were overcooked. ONLY reason we stayed was because of my daughter. To say I am MAD is an understatement. read more

If you're in the mood for entertaining your kids for two hours with the mediocre moving jungle animals and noises, AND feel like paying way too much for your slow to arrive food, then by all means, this is the place for you! We visited here for our baby friend's 1st birthday and were quite disappointed. We were a group of about 15, but only half of our group was there, and the other half arrived 30 minutes later. We were one, of three other groups in the ENTIRE restaurant, so I was sure we'd get good, speedy service ... WRONG!!!!!!!!!! Our food, all of it, drinks, appetizers, and meals took FOREVER to arrive. I had to take my 18 month old around the restaurant several times to keep him from getting fussy. My drink was never refilled, and my husband had to remind the waitress that he'd asked to have his refilled. I rarely saw the waitress come by and check on us, and the fact that there was no one else in the restaurant made this completely inexcusable. Our friends who were hosting the dinner, ended up paying the bill. I'm not sure how much they ended up paying but I'm sure it was ridiculous from what I'd seen on the menu prior to ordering. Being that this location is inside the Ontario Mills Mall, I'd actually walked passed it several times. Each time, I noticed the restaurant was extremely packed. One time I overheard the hostess saying the wait time was 2 hours! Trust me, save your money and take your kids to Chuck E. Cheese or John's Incredible Pizza! Much more entertaining, and cheaper I'm sure! We the jury find Rainforest Cafe GUILTY and will not be returning. Case dismissed. read more

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! If i could give them ZERO stars I would! Went there this last Sat, May 3rd around 3pm after we caught a movie at the nearby theater. We ordered promptly and waited... and waited... and waited... A gentleman who looked like a lead or supervisor of some sort approaches our table after nearly an hour and a half wait and states they LOST our check order in the kitchen???!! Mind you, we have a 3 yr old toddler. He was getting more than a little restless sitting here. Yes, they have animals that come to life every few minutes to keep him occupied, but really? How long can this last? He offers us an appetizer comp'ed to hold us down (not actually offering us a menu or anything so we decide to just name something we THINK they might have at the top of our head) and we agree to do nachos or something. Few minutes later, he comes out with our ordered food and states they didn't lose our check order after all. Never brings up the comp'd appetizers and never brings it out. You already admitted fault, and than you pretend that you didn't take our appetizer order? WOOOoOOoOOW. SO MANY BETTER PLACES TO EAT, BETTER SERVICE, AND WAYYYY BETTER FOOD NEARBY. Food here isn't that great. Ribs tasted like it was baked and sauce was drizzled over it. I make better ribs at home, and I don't cook a lick at home. I could burn bread and toast to give you an idea of what an amazing chef I am. Oh, and we weren't the only ones with issues. They were losing checks, mixing up orders, and just forgetting that there were people there waiting on service. There were at least 2 other families that were already there before we even got seated that just were sitting around waiting for someone to help them?? RIDICULOUS. read more

I came here for an early dinner over a week ago with my wife and daughter. Since I'm a Landry's Club member, the hostess sat us down and told us if we need anything we could get her. Well, we definitely needed her, but the hostess was nowhere to be found amidst a bunch of employees scurrying around the dining area. Throughout our overpriced meal time, the servers were in fact friendly. But we could never get a hold of our server when we needed something. And when we did get a hold of our server, she actually couldn't help us. I was needing a water refill during our initial 20-minute wait for our food order... Glimpsed our waitress and I waved my arm and called out... Whoops, she didn't see me. After more than 20 minutes, my wife finally got a hold of our server to ask about our ahi appetizer. Our server seemed surprised, and gave us a convincing answer that it would be out quickly. Another 10 minutes goes by... We got our server again, letting her know the app didn't arrive. So she went to the kitchen, then came back to tell us it was coming right out, that she herself wasn't able to bring it to us right then because the way it works at Rainforest is that the delivery people bring it. Fine. So a few minutes later our entrees come out. Waitress then apologizes when she sees our app wasn't on the table. Our entrees were terrible. Sandy-tasting clam chowder for me, with a burger that should've been $3 instead of $15. At least it included cold fries. My wife actually got ribs for something like $23... Let me just say it wasn't worth even $5 at best. It's all a bunch of pre made unnatural food. Still had trouble flagging someone down for drink refills, as well as a spoon my wife needed. Here's the synopsis: Service sucked. Way overpriced food. Avoid completely... Unless you have kids. Then you're screwed because you might actually have to come to this god-forsaken gimmick of a "restaurant." PS. They have huge fish tanks at the entrance to the restaurant. However, they did away with the fish. So it's just big tanks of water now. Sorry for the spoiler! read more

OMG since when did Rainforest Cafe have such GREAT food? I really enjoyed my dining experience here! As the name implies, this place is literally like a rainforest, with gorillas, elephants, and trees everywhere! Most of the tables are families with young children, but I think this is a great place for friends to hang out too! For starters, I got the Awesome Appetizer Adventure, which is freaking AWESOME! If you're indecisive about which appetizer to get, this has it all! The portion is perfect for a party of 2-4, and you'll get taste of their most popular appetizers :) For the main dish, I ordered the Taste of the Island. This is also a sampler-type dish, where you get a variety of items ranging from coconut shrimp, blacked catfish, and scallops. Yum! I recommend trying out both of these dishes! The servers are extremely friendly (and it's super adorable how they call themselves tour guides)! read more

Their service was great. Steve was absolutely funny and also kept our drinks full. He always came to us and made sure we were good. He engaged in conversations with us, he was terrific. They had a gentleman creating balloon animals and we felt no pressure to say yes. He was very casual and friendly. He was glad to help if we didn't tip (we did anyways, he made the kids laugh). They had another gentlemen take our photos and told us we can purchase them if we like. That was a fabulous add-on. The little one kept talking and talking to the photographer and the photographer kept the conversation going. He wasn't trying to awkwardly get away. Overall, the service was fantastic and I would definitely recommend to friends and family. I'll certainly be coming again with my family. read more

I have to say... HANDS DOWN TO THE BEST WAITRESS EVER!!! Dang it, I forgot her name. She was SO nice to us.. and if it wasn't for her, I'd definitely give this place 2 stars. Their food is not made with love at all. Ok, well maybe it tastes decent, but it's SOOOOO DAMN EXPENSIVE!!!!! A crappy, oily, greasy plate of jambalaya pasta $24, but has nothing in there but grease. Ok, I got half a shrimp and a bite of sausage every 2-3 bites.. I was just mind blown when the bill came out and was $70 for just 2 of us. We didn't even order any drinks! Just avocado eggroll appy, jambalaya, and salmon. Definitely experienced better, but I still have to give it up to our waitress. She was awesome and SUPER nice! If she gets credit for this review at all, she was the short filipino lady! Or at least I think she's filipino lol read more

So it's a Sunday my one day off and at this point in in our lives my Husband and I are always looking for places where we can go that will keep our two and a half year old happy and keep us sane. I had been to the Rainforest Cafe in MA and I thought it would be a great place for kids. So we made the drive from Los Angeles to Ontario. Great choice for my little one. She was so happy, she loved it. When we walked in she was in aw of the trees, wild animals and fish tanks. She loved her drink in a flashing party cup. So as for my review anyone with a toddler knows if they're happy than so are you. Yay we got to eat in peace and enjoy a meal. Thanks Rainforest Cafe. This is a great place for kids. Peace aside my review on the restaurant. Service for us was great. As soon as we arrived we were seated the hostess was friendly and even pointed out the restrooms. Our server was extremely friendly also. Her name was Kim. The food: For a chain the food was good everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. It was better than I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed experience at the Rainforest Cafe. It was fun to see my Daughter so excited. read more

I felt like showering in the jungle that was displayed here! Oh my goodness the leaves and ropes were soaring through the ceiling and I saw a talking elephant, a mouth grabbing alligator and lots of vines. There are water tanks and lots of novelty gift shops that are kid friendly. There is a built in bar and grill inside. I personally didn't find it appropriate to dine in, but I stuck around enough to see the cute teddy bears and jewelry they sold. read more

Delicious food, amazing customer service, wonderful atmosphere. Only problem was pricing for portion. 15.99 for chicken an ice cream scoop of potatoes and fries. (Still yummy). I can't imagine coming here without children. The food is mediocre and overpriced, but the show will keep the young ones entertained throughout the meal. In fact, that's where all of those extra dollars on each item are going to: somebody has to pay for all of the ambiance, from the animatronic animals throughout the restaurant to the thunderstorm that takes place every few minutes. It's like eating in the middle of a Disneyland attraction: yes, it's cool, but you're forking over beaucoup bucks for the experience. The service has always been good on my visits, from the servers to the balloon animal guy who will make sure your child goes home with a cool balloon animal, hat, or weapon. I just wish the food quality was equal to the level of service and the amount of fun that the kids have here. read more

Went on a Saturday and took my 4 year old autistic grand daughter. We knew we may be pushing it, and didn't know how she would do. We asked for a booth but none were available. When we explained that she had sensory issues and would be more comfortable in a booth, the hostess went out of her way to get us a booth very quickly. We ordered the chicken tenders with coconut curry sauce. Chicken was very good and the sauce is amazing! Grand daughter did fine until the thunder storm. With her sensory issues she just couldn't handle it. She covered her ears and cried. Up until the thunder storm she was cautious but was enjoying it. The service was perfect and the man making balloon animals was so nice to my grand daughter! After we left, I emailed Rainforest to ask if they possibly had an autism day where they turn the sound down. I really didn't expect a response, or at the most, a generic return email saying they would consider it. Instead I got a phone call at home from the General Manager, Tom. He was very kind and concerned about our experience. He told us if we come in on a weekday to let them know about her issues and they would turn the sound down while we dined. This way we don't have to wait for a special day, they are willing to accommodate us at our convenience. We will definitely be going back. Over all we had a great time and really enjoyed the food. read more

So we wanted a light lunch and I wanted to experience rainforest cafe for the first time. Never again. The server was the only reason I would consider giving this place more than 1 star. We started with the chimi-cha-cha's and got two salads as our meal. I don't know how they manage to make a cobb salad disgusting but they do. And the appetizer was so overly spiced that the texture within the wonton wrapper was CHALKY! Let me reiterate, Never again read more

I'm being completely honest with this review. The atmosphere was great for the kids. That was it for the good comments. We ordered our drinks, witch started our dinner off fine. My nephew ordered a Root beer from the menu witch said unlimited refills, but when we got the drink it was in a bottle, The drink was warm and it took 2 tries to get a cold one. The beer had a floater. Than the food came. The chips were stale. The food was cold. My wife had plastic in her pasta. The server said the pasta was pre made and they heated it up, the plastic must of fell in when they cut open the bag. If I pay for food I expect the food to be made at the restaurant. They mixed up the bills with our friends. We had to wait 10 min for the manager to get to the table to correct the ticket. She left and came back another 10 min later. The bills still weren't right. I have never gone back and recommend to stay away if you value your time. read more

yup we ate here. we were in riverside and ventured to ontario for dinner and a movie. there arent that many choices in the mall itself. surrounding the mall i think there is BJs, a lot of fast food chains but rainforest was one of a few sit down restaurants. we didnt have a problem getting a table saturday night. we sat down next to a gorilla. they will warn you, the animals move every 10 minutes and there is a thunderstorm every 30. if you are not in the mood, these can get pretty annoying while you are eating. we shared cobb salad and the penne with italian sausage. the cobb had grilled chicken, egg, olives, bacon, blue cheese. the past few cobbs ive had dont look anything like the traditional cobb that i know. strips of cold cuts, cheese, tomato, bacon, egg .. or is that some other salad? i dont know. the pasta dish was actually really decent. tje aquarium is actually pretty impressive. its an archway. sensory overload here though read more

By the time we received our food I was ready to swing from the ceiling like one of the monkeys in the restaurant lol .. They seem to be about who is spending the most money here. Our waitress took our order and mind you we had three children with us... who were pretty hungry. She put our order in and forgot to pick it up.... PROBABLY because she was busy helping the table next to us (who was another waiters table) with a order for 20 people who were ordering bottles of wine etc. So it seems to me that it didnt matter about our table's order since we werent spending as much money. She got busy and completely forgot, so we had to call the manager over, kids were screaming, total nightmare. Then to add insult to injury they got the order wrong. I just let my kids eat and left. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. TERRIBLE the prices were outrageous also, but you expect to pay for all the jumping monkeys and elephants lol. I was disappointed ... read more

I met four friends here for lunch. Two of them were from out of state. One of my out-of-state friends also had a birthday yesterday, so we came together to celebrate. Coming to this restaurant at first glance is like coming to the Jungle Cruise attraction at Disneyland. The decor was a fake jungle with some animated animals like apes, along with the sound effects. Our table was next to a fountain that had what appeared to be a statue of Atlas as the centerpiece. The sound effects with the animal sounds could get a bit loud at times, making it hard to have a conversation without shouting. When I opened the menu, my first impression was that the prices were rather expensive! :-O I really didn't have an appetite (a little too early for my customary lunchtime), so I ordered a Paradise Chopped House Salad, which consisted of mixed greens, Roma tomatoes, carrots and cucumbers with my choice of dressing, which was ranch for me. This salad was priced at $6.99 and it wasn't very big, either. But, it was the right size and I ate it all. The dressing was good but the salad itself could have been better. We all shared an appetizer of Rainforest Pita Quesadillas, of which I had two pieces. The service was fast and friendly. The servers gathered around our table and they did their version of an upbeat, happy birthday song, complete with lots of hand clapping. :-) That was a nice touch and my friend appreciated it. This restaurant also has a gift shop in front of the main dining area, and is the first thing you see when approaching from the mall. I really didn't browse through the gift shop but there were all kinds of items for sale, like T-shirts and hats with the Rainforest Cafe logo. I would recommend coming to this place if you want to try a different kind of dining experience with a jungle theme. As far as food, there are better (and cheaper) choices. read more

I normally love the rainforest cafe but it has gone down hill here at the Ontario mills. First no one was around so we can check in for our reservations second they sat us is not great at all. Then the server asked all of us my parents who look over 21 (did not mine me I look under 20 still) for our valid IDs my dad got offended and the manager only made it worst by saying it's because of this new policy. So if you look over the age 21 be prepared to get your ID out my cus you are getting carded still. The waitress Ashely was horrible she kept saying I will be right back and took forever every time the only good thing was the food. But like dad I am never coming back. If it weren't for my niece and nephew, I think I'd banish this place from my list forever. The ambience is nice and perfect for the kids since every 10 minutes, the plastic animals go berserk, scaring the crap out of anyone sitting right next to them. After a while, you kind of want to stuff these plastic animals with the food they've served you. So speaking of the food, it's hardly good. I remember one visit I had when I ordered the grilled salmon. I thought the first few bites were good. Apparently the chefs had decided to make the salmon half sashimi, half cooked. This is not the way to prepare salmon. Either make it one way or another. Don't get me wrong, my favorite fish is salmon (raw salmon is my favorite dish) but you CANNOT mix the two! All the other times I've visited were very uneventful. The food there is either average or just below average. If they'd work harder on their menu instead of making these stupid plastic animals, they'd have better food. read more

After reading all the HORRIBLE reviews, I almost didn't go here. But we have a 10 year old that loves animals & nature, so I decided to give it a shot! We went on a Sunday right around lunch time & we were seated right away. Our server was wonderful, friendly, & helpful throughout. We ordered the kids mac n cheese, which she said was good but could use more sauce, clam chowder sourdough bread bowl, which was great, chicken strips were good. The only complaint on the food were the fries which were very dry & flavorless. There was a balloon man there working for tips, he made a very cute Ariel mermaid balloon & was extremely friendly. Our 10 year old was mesmerized the whole time by the animals moving & the thunder rainstorms every 1/2 hour. The overall experience was wonderful, but I do believe the menu could use some revamping & is a little pricey. read more

We've been to many Rainforest Cafes and came to this location so many times, but today we had the worst experience ever...!!! First we're waited in line in front of the big water tank near by the entrance to the dining area for 30 mins and then out of no where, they decided that beginning from our party, we need to go get a reservation passport. We were instructed to went all the way back out to the front entrance of the restaurant to get a reservation passport. OK, for our kids sake, we just shut up and did what they said. When we went back to the front entrance, the lady over there told us to get the reservation passport from the RETAIL AREA. The next thing we know was as soon as we start walking away from the front entrance towards the retail area as instructed, that lady, the same lady told us to go to the retail area, handed a reservation passport to the party behind us...WTH!!! My husband told them nicely we were first, even the party behind us told that lady that we were in front of them. However, we were ignored as if we're from another planet. She continued passing out reservation passport to all those parties behind us, which, causing us from the NEXT in line to become the LAST in line. For our kids' sake, we shut up and just take it. 20 mins later, upon our promised reservation time, we came back to the front as instructed. We asked her nicely if our table is ready...again, we're ignored and pretend she couldn't hear us. We continued waiting patiently and noticed she's been calling all those people behind us. We waited patiently for another 15 mins, she finally said "Mam, follow the footprints on the ground to go back to the dining area!" Finally, we're seated...our kids had a blast with all the rainforest animals, we kinda forgot about all the chaos at the entrance. The food wasn't great, but who cares, the kids love the environment. Service wasn't great, the server were busy loudly chatting how much tips they got...it's ok to discuss that, but definitely not when other customers are still present. The whole time we were there, I saw 2 to 3 other tables were complaining about their service too...it feels like they're not taking their customers very seriously. My bill plus tips was about $150...but my soup came without the spoon, we didn't have any plates when our appetizer came...it's ok, I can EAT my soup with a fork and we can just eat our appetizer with a napkin...but it's not ok when the server wrote on the receipt "Please Choose a Suggested %!" Apparently, they acknowledged their shitty service and knowing they might not earning any tips! I truly think their service deserve $0 tips...but I still tip them at 18%. I request to speak with the manager about the whole chaos, but he/she was TOO BUSY to take my complain and told me to call later. I called earlier and they said I should expect a call back in 30 mins. However, 120 mins went by, no calls at all!!! Sorry Rainforest Cafe Ontario, WE'LL NEVER GO BACK!!! read more

I think this place is great if you have young children. Otherwise, the atmosphere doesn't make up for the lack of flavor in the food.

It was my first experience being here. It was a Tuesday & I'll have to say for the emptiness of the venue my drink was unfilled most of the time. Don't order a strawberry lemonade! They take forever to bring it to you. The Rainforest burger could have been better as I felt the meat was somewhat dry. What a fun restaurant! I love the whole idea of it! We arrived around 2ish on a weekday and were seated quickly. Our waiter was pretty nice and attentive..perhaps maybe too attentive.
