His recommendations for all aspects of the work were top notch and he was deliberate, patient and easy to talk to before, during and after our project completion. We were looking to re do our pool area and decking because the concrete deck around the pool was showing age, cracking and sagging in spots and the wood deck I had built around the pool concrete over 25 years ago was moving a bit. We had three different contractors provide specs and estimates. Two were stone guys who would replace the existing concrete and wood decking with stone. One of these contractors had done work for us before. I contacted Jon who explained the difference between doing the work with composite decking and stone. We also learned from a survey I commissioned that we would have issues with permeability if we went with stone. Ultimately Jon recommended we go with the Timbertek product for the decking which would replace all the existing concrete and wood. One of the reasons we chose Jon was that he served as our GC/construction manager for the work. We had numerous trades on the job including carpenters, electricians, pool people, demo teams, landscapers, stone masons, to name a few, and I did not want to be responsible for managing all of them plus overseeing the critical path. Jon served in that role wonderfully. Another really great thing that Jon did was recommend that we do the work in Fall '15. We originally wanted to have the work done in Spring '16 as our daughter was getting married Nov '15 and we, and my wife in particular, were a bit manic about having the work going on during the same time as the wedding preparations. We are both so happy that we had the work performed in the Fall '15. As I write this we are now enjoying our beautiful backyard. This was a major project and big $investment for us. I can relate one other specific instance of why Jon was the right guy for us. Early in the project, during the demolition and removal of the pool concrete my wife Nancy was freaking out. I called Jon who came over immediately and explained to us both that this is always how it is at the beginning of these type of jobs and that this was the worst part and all would be well. We were both relaxed because of Jon. Lastly, it has been ~7 months since completion of the work and there are a few minor items that are still being worked out. Jon has been great in communicating and sending his guys over to deal with these few, minor matters. Again, we highly recommend Jon Kontz, Plant Design, for any home project, large or small. I highly recommend you do not conduct business with this gentleman. As other reviewers have previously written, he is a one man "company" who runs the business out of his Doylestown home, has no real employees, hires lowest bid subcontractors to renovate your pool, has changed his company name numerous times, and according to several other pool renovation companies I have reached out to fix this mess maintains an extremely poor reputation in the industry. We paid him an initial deposit in June 2021. Months passed with nothing happening. Out of the blue, he then proceeded to demolish our family's pool last fall with two young men showing up unannounced at our home without the required township permits. The work was rushed, sloppy, and shoddy. Our automatic pool cover track was removed and bent in the process. The mortar was not properly and completely removed so more demolition and prep work will still need to be done to prepare the pool for its next phase of renovation. Gallons of saltwater were dumped onto our grass, plants, and trees. Our pool was left filled with debris. In addition, the sloppy demolition may have damaged the plumbing which will now need to be pressure tested. Bob Whitaker had no supplies when he demolished our pool. He failed to reserve and secure our necessary materials. He gave my husband the run-around via text messages for nine months. And has left our family with our four year old son pool-less for the upcoming summer season. He refuses to answer calls or return my husband's deposit. Even though, his incomplete and sloppy demolition has provided no savings or value now that we need to hire another contractor to renovate our pool. I hope my warning can prevent someone else from making the same mistake our family made retaining Aqua Renovations' services saving unnecessary stress, unpleasantness, inconvenience, frustration, and the wasting of hard earned money.

For a number of reasons I was never happy with the enclosure. I was sure that there must be a better way to enclose a pool, but short of converting it to an indoor pool, I was clueless. None of the local pool companies was of any help, but fortunately I found Pool & Spa enclosures on the web. As others have written, John and Alex are absolutely great to work with. Their enclosures are everything they say they are. The engineering and quality of construction are outstanding, as is the performance of the enclosure. Today, April 21, the outside air temp is 78. Inside the enclosure the air temp is 97, and the water temp is 83. Even though my pool is unheated, I have been swimming in 80 degree water since late March. Previously with the screened enclosure my pool never hit 80 until May. Ditching the screened room and replacing it with a sliding pool enclosure was a great decision. The new enclosure has exceeded my expectations in every way. Great product from a great company!

Not so much to purchase if you're looking for a deal. They send coupons but you can never use them.
