My sister & I have done a number of studio shoots throughout the years and we were excited to do one again. We chose package #2 and the photographer let us choose 3 backgrounds to shoot in front of. He was really nice, considerate, and patient as we positioned ourselves for photos. He even allowed us a free pose which was really generous of him. One thing I was not used to was that some of the background are greenscreen. It's really interesting but the photos still turned out really natural. Our digital photos were received the same night and we were able to choose our prints the next day. They were printed within 15 minutes. My friends and I decided to go to Rainbow Studio for my birthday and it turned out really fun. Haven't gone to a one hour studio since middle school, it was nice to see this spot still around. We chose our package and backgrounds. Once it was time for our photos, the photographer switched into professional mode directing us, which was very helpful since we wouldn't know how to pose ourselves otherwise. We got to choose our photos afterwards and then return about an hour later to pick up the hard copy prints. Great quality prints! read more

I needed a passport portrait and was unhappy with the "stationery store's" hot-flash photo to where the photo didn't look like me. I called Rainbow Studio to learn they accept walk-ins and from Yelp can tell the photographer uses professional lighting. I arrived around 1:30 pm and he was finishing up with a previous client. It's only fair that since he accepts walk-ins that there could be a slight wait but I only waited about 15 minutes. Immediately I could tell the photographer was a professional just from his care about positioning my head to be more flattering but within the rules of the Passport policies. The lighting was like night and day to the "Stationery Store." I noticed he had numerous backgrounds and am considering him for a family portrait. read more

Seems to be a decent photographer, talking time to work with you. He is kind and courteous. Mine were passport photos so the result was not so flattering but seems to be a combo of no angles or lighting permitted or just me neglecting my face moisturizer or not wearing enough makeup to not wash out. (I did find out later that you are allowed to smile, on gov website, just not allowed to show teeth.) He did offer give a decent discount for reshoots, but I was on a deadline. I appreciate his help in making print a digital file per passport agency's strict rules. I'd definitely go back. At least my eyes were not closed (would have been if I tried a photo booth), my eyes were not bloodshot, and I am confident that the standards of background and lighting will all pass all gov inspections. He got the job done in a timely manner and was easy to work with. read more

It's 12:17 we messaged the owner at 11:50 am he informed us he was running ten minutes late with a whole line outside the studio all waiting it is so inconsiderate to expect business but cannot even show up on time. I was very displeased while waiting for 39 minutes outside with my kids just to get photos done. We had to call twice and every time it was 10, 15, and now 5 minutes. The lady didn't really direct us at all and assumed the poses even though i stated i wanted one with my family member... when i told her she said i only had one pose left so we requested to remove the ones i didn't even request. I couldn't even take a look at the photos. All she wanted was to be done with it. She didn't ever direct us when taking the photos and had no suggestions . it did not seem like taking professional photos at all. I suggest going elsewhere or requesting the guy because he seemed like he knew what to do. read more

This is a review for passport photos. Needed passport photos for my baby. I called to make sure they were available on Saturday and the owner/photographer had great communication before I even arrived. He also did an amazing job to get my kid to smile and capture a very nice picture. When I left I forgot I needed another set for a visa application and they were able to print more/have them waiting when I went back. $15.99 for a set of two isn't bad compared to other places I looked. Note: Waze took me to the wrong address but Google maps got me there. read more

The couple that runs this establishment is super sweet! It was the wife that took my daughter's photos. I appreciate that she took her time and was patient. She posed each of my girls and I thought it was nice she didn't leave them guessing on what to do. I've been to other 1hr photos and they all just rush the whole process. I want to forewarn everybody that they have a policy that photos will be available the following day. You won't get the nostalgia of choosing back grounds, taking photos, choosing photos, receive photos all in the same day. Thats the only bummer but I rather wait 24hrs than get crappy service. Talk about boosting self esteem! I'm a 66 yr old woman with the knocks of life from every which way, and for a long time, I felt uncomfortable about my age especially how I look. I have been wanting to go to a professional to get a picture for work requirement and have been dreading it all the time. My body and face was gradually showing signs of aging and the wrinkles were beginning to display themselves. ha... It took a year and at last for the 3rd time texted my business partner and friend for the number. So fast forward now, it must have been the 10th time I pulled these pictures out of the envelope, and as I write this review, this is truly the 11th time, yes I counted because I made stops 5 times since leaving the place, yes, I took them out every time I stop, then another 5 when I got home, and at my office training. Yes it's my face alright, it's my same smile also. But here's the thing, the jewel of this experience is: It's how I felt inside. I became a change in me. I felt like I'm looking at a different person and that person in the picture. And the person in that picture is me, with the professional touch of the expert, I am made beautiful. I went in there with all kinds of emotional letdowns, I came out swinging like I won a beauty pageant. It felt great to be beautiful. Gone were all kinds of negative and demeaning thoughts about myself. I am beautiful. My self-esteem is now heightened because someone did his job expertly and superbly. This review is for the passport photo. I found this place from a yelp review for a passport photo. We drove all the way from Natomas to get a passport photo for my 9mo baby and the result didn't disappoint. We did a walk-in and didn't have to wait! The lady who took the picture was even able to make my super clingy 9mo old smile for the camera and we waited only for 15minutes for the photos to come out. We paid $15.99 for 2 photos which way cheaper than CVS or the post office. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a fast and affordable passport photos. read more
