Bottom line: If you have media converted and put on a flash drive ... check that the file is there before leaving the store. I didn't and needed an extra round trip. I have a mixed review. I had two VHS tapes converted to mp4. Pro: The conversion worked well. The VHS tapes were handled well and survived. The files are good quality. The price was reasonable. I am glad to have a physical store to go to. The time needed was about what they estimated. Con: After I left the store with the second flash drive and got home i found the drive was empty, no file. I called then the next morning and described the issue. The guy said "bummer". He asked if i had checked the drive before leaving the store. I replied no, although the answer seemed obvious to me. I guess he was indicating that this was my fault somehow. I could have asked him the same thing, ''did you check that the transfer service to the drive was completed before you told me it was and sent me home?", but i didn't. He checked that they still had the file on their system and could give it to me if i came back in. This went smoothly and i asked whether i could have a discount for the inconvenience of the second trip (20 minutes each way). He related that since I had provided them with my own flash drive, and that was likely the issue that led to the empty drive, he wouldn't offer a discount. He offered me two reasons why this was my fault, but didn't offer any apology for the inconveience or indication that he felt he had any role in what happened. Honestly, if i had heard him use the word, 'sorry' a single time this would have been a very different review. To be clear, I DID ask to not buy their drive (another expense) but rather asked if they would use a new drive i had that was still in the wrapper. They agreed to that and it may have been the reason for the empty drive. But I would recommend that they add a check to their process that the file is transferred properly before giving it to customers. read more

This business can convert just about anything. The owner even had a set up so I could view my VHS tape before converting it to an mp4 file for me. It is approximately a 2-week wait depending on how much video is being converted. This small business is helpful and very fair about pricing. I'll be back. read more

Did a great job and delivered pretty much what was promised. It took a longer time than expected but they did tell me it would take a while. Happy with the service. read more

I'm so happy to find a local place that can convert old videos to digital. I had looked online but most places required shipped them off somewhere. Brent was super cool and did his all around best to fix what was a dusty old 8mm tapes converted to digital files. They do everything in house so your precious videos don't leave the building. read more

Poor customer svc, lack communication for our audio conversions to new usb devices... the tapes were promised in two weeks now going on month and no contact from store, so we called and they said we only call when the order is ready... today is Wednesday and since we're calling them they now say the tapes will be ready this coming Friday... well we will not hold our breath read more

Very cautious in handling the one VHS tape I had of my wedding. They provided an excellent digital copy, and were able to do it the same day. Very friendly. read more

They were very helpful and well worth the price. It's a great way to save old photos and videos.

The older gentleman that helped me was beyond amazing. He restored/transferred my 20 year old vhs tapes onto a flash drive. I let him know it was for a very personal situation, my mother had just passed and these were my childhood memories, and needed in such a fast manner. He told me based on time and everything that he was able to help. He ended up calling me back with 24hrs and had them ready for pick up. The memories I now have on this flash drive with my mother I will cherish forever. I am forever grateful for him. I'd highly recommend them. Thank you read more

I was looking through my closet and found some old 8mm movies that my parents had taken back in the 50's and 60's. I thought I knew what was on them but did not have a way to see them. I figured that the best way to see them and share them with my family and friends was to get them converted to a more modern media. I looked online and found this company. What a great find. They are very knowledgeable and, my guess, can handle any source you might have. So don't leave your old memories in the closet collecting dust. Go see these guys to get the movies back. Check out their web site to see what they can do. You won't regret it. read more

Converted DVDs to digital in two days. We needed them quickly for a family event. Excellent service.

These guys know their stuff. Maybe that is why they sometimes are criticized as sounding condescending. When I first walked in it was just for an estimate. I was being vague because I hadn't really decided what I wanted. As I talked with Martin, he clearly knew more than I do, so I explained what I wanted to do with my digital copies of old 8mm films. Once he had an idea of what I wanted, he really helped me and I understood what he could do and had a good estimate. I decided to bring my film back to him. I also had the color corrected. I am pleased with the results. I ordered a digital hard drive of the films, too, so I can edit the six hours of my dads amateur photography. If you know what you want, these guys can do it. If you aren't sure what you want, ask them to help you figure it out. They are very professional. read more

I've brought several of our home videos (some on VHS and some on DVD) and they have converted them into formats I can upload to our private family YouTube channel. They are very experienced, get the work done quickly and make sure everything is right. Super friendly staff. I've been so happy with my experiences here. Save your videos on a format your kids can have forever! Highly recommend VideoLab read more

These folks did a great job for our family! After several projects, I would not trust anyone else.

Absolute easiest passport photo experience of all time. We were in and out in 2 minutes, and the photographer handled my toddler very well.

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I can't say enough about Marti- he helped me with SAME DAY service. He was super patient and kind and gave me exactly what I requested. Will be working with them in the future. read more

I had my grandfather's old 8 mm movies transferred onto Beta tapes years ago. They were able to transfer my beta tapes onto an external hard drive so I can edit them now. Great price and service. Thanks read more

Fine job transferring 16mm to a USB flash drive but very expensive. It was about 45 seconds long but they have a $79 minimum. If I had shopped around first I'd have found that Costco could do it for $17. I'm not sure if the quality would have been lower at Costco or not but since it was grainy black and white film for personal use, it would have been fine. I blame myself for not shopping around. Also, I dropped it off Sept 29, 2014. I didn't get a call saying it was ready so on Oct 21st I called them and they said it had been ready for a while but didn't apologize for not calling me. read more

Video Lab was able to transfer a variety of media onto a simple platform for me (layman). I've had some transferred from other companies, but was unable to download them and make any edits. So, they still sit on DVDs still out of order and in need of editing. Video Lab gave me downloadable options and even gave me instructions. It's great to find local owner operators that still take pride in their skills, service, and workmanship. Thanks for restoring the memories. read more

Excited to come tomorrow and get my mp8 videos finally transferred to flash drive. I called today, the person who I spoke to us direct, no lying and just says it as it is. Obviously he knows what he is talking about. Yes, Cosco is slightly cheaper BUT no flash drive and it's on a dvd format as a movie, who uses dvd anymore? And no option just for flash drive. Plus a store since 1985, that seems like a business that knows exactly what they are doing. My videos I have is from family and we don't even have photos (originally from European country) so as you can imagine they are very precious to us and I don't feel like risking some online ship it out type of deal with something that is valuable. Can't wait for tomorrow read more

I have been here several times, all for different reasons. Once it was to have them restore an old audio CD, then for passport photos, and finally today to have some video CDs burned. I had been to another shop and I waited nearly two hours for them to make 9 copies, end result after all that time was only one copy and then their system crashed. I came here right after and they burned all the copies in less than 15 minutes. Always fast, courteous, and reasonably priced...I like that! read more

Dennis did an outstanding job with my dads custom photo dvd. We were able to work together to time the pictures to the words of the 2 music selections. My dad lived a very long life 98 years and there was a lot to do prior to coming to Dennis. There was also a list of things he was able to do; restoring some of the black and white. Enlarging a couple of old photos. Editing and printing up select pictures for the service. Dennis is very talented and there wasn't anything he couldn't do which was a relief with my time line. We were able to come up with a really polished and heartfelt presentation. It is something the family and close friends will cherish and have forever. The whole crew at Video Lab were supportive and complimentary of my dads life and the final product! My dad would be very proud of his life through pictures. I would highly recommend. read more

I needed some old camcorder tapes transferred to DVD in a rush right before Christmas and was told by pretty much every place I went that I wouldn't get it back in time. Finally I was referred to VideoLab who got the job done in just a few days. Even doing it for less than originally quoted. Everything worked great and my mother in law loved getting some of her old videos back on current media. Definitely recommend if looking for a place to do quality transfers quickly. read more

12/23/17 - The customer service at Video Lab was amazing! Each gentleman that I spoke with on the phone was extremely helpful and polite. I finished making a CD of my music just in time for the holidays and the guys at Video Lab were ready and able to take on my job. They duplicated 200 CDs for me so I could expeditiously distribute them to waiting customers. Marty, especially, was very personable and went above and beyond the call of duty to deliver a very fine product for me. Their prices were economical too and I will return when I need more of their services -- without a doubt!!! read more

They did an awesome job on my DVD's I would highly recommend them to friends and family.

Recently, I called to inquire about prices and I received the same tone a previous commenter had received! The guy on the phone was extremely rude and irritable. We wanted to say how amazing Video Lab is and how they helped us make the most incredible keepsake cd for my father's funeral service. It has been one of the most difficult times in our life, but it was so nice how Dennis at Video Lab went above and beyond! He did the most incredible work! We had a vision of what we wanted and honestly, did not think it could be done, however, he made it happen! We would highly recommend ONLY this great place! If you look up their website, videolabmultimedia.com, they do so much more that would so impress you and want you to use their services! Thank you so much Video Lab! :o) read more

Would I use Video Lab again ? No. Would I recommend them ? No. I brought in a VHS tape of a short wedding to transfer to DVD. They told me however it played on the VHS machine is pretty much how it will look on the DVD transfer, with possibly a little tweeking that could be done to help the quality. The tape is only 9 minutes long. It had a rough spot about 5-6 minutes in, but was still watchable. I asked if I could see the first minute or so played on their machine to check the quality and was told no. They didn't have time. I took a chance and was very disappointed upon viewing the final transfer. I was told the original tape was nearly perfect, except for the "kiss" at the 5-6 minute mark and that the tape was damaged at or about that section. When I viewed the final DVD it was much worse throughout, than the original VHS tape. Especially the last several minutes, which are almost unwatchable. The sound cuts in & out, screen turns to blue, then back and the picture is terrible. It's only a 9 minute video, so about 35-40% is bad. I paid $27.00 (with tax) for a 9 minute video that's worse than the original VHS tape. Sad. They also forgot to put the title on the DVD. I had to wait after paying while other customers were helped before they finally completed my disc. Won't be back and will look elsewhere for a new transfer. read more

I had them convert an old 8mm film to video as a Christmas present for my mother. Not only was it done in a reasonable time but the video turned out great. The customer service was excellent and I felt comfortable trusting them to take care of a family heirloom. I will definitely use Video Lab for more projects like this in the future. read more
