This business can convert just about anything. The owner even had a set up so I could view my VHS tape before converting it to an mp4 file for me. It is approximately a 2-week wait depending on how much video is being converted. This small business is helpful and very fair about pricing. I'll be back. read more

Poor customer svc, lack communication for our audio conversions to new usb devices... the tapes were promised in two weeks now going on month and no contact from store, so we called and they said we only call when the order is ready... today is Wednesday and since we're calling them they now say the tapes will be ready this coming Friday... well we will not hold our breath read more

I'm so happy to find a local place that can convert old videos to digital. I had looked online but most places required shipped them off somewhere. Brent was super cool and did his all around best to fix what was a dusty old 8mm tapes converted to digital files. The older gentleman that helped me was beyond amazing. He restored/transferred my 20 year old vhs tapes onto a flash drive. I let him know it was for a very personal situation, my mother had just passed and these were my childhood memories, and needed in such a fast manner. These guys know their stuff. Maybe that is why they sometimes are criticized as sounding condescending. When I first walked in it was just for an estimate. I was being vague because I hadn't really decided what I wanted. As I talked with Martin, he clearly knew more than I do, so I explained what I wanted to do with my digital copies of old 8mm films. Once he had an idea of what I wanted, he really helped me and I understood what he could do and had a good estimate. I decided to bring my film back to him. I also had the color corrected. I am pleased with the results. I ordered a digital hard drive of the films, too, so I can edit the six hours of my dads amateur photography. If you know what you want, these guys can do it. If you aren't sure what you want, ask them to help you figure it out. They are very professional. read more

Fine job transferring 16mm to a USB flash drive but very expensive. It was about 45 seconds long but they have a $79 minimum. If I had shopped around first I'd have found that Costco could do it for $17. I'm not sure if the quality would have been lower at Costco or not but since it was grainy black and white film for personal use, it would have been fine. I blame myself for not shopping around. Also, I dropped it off Sept 29, 2014. I didn't get a call saying it was ready so on Oct 21st I called them and they said it had been ready for a while but didn't apologize for not calling me. read more

Video Lab was able to transfer a variety of media onto a simple platform for me (layman). I've had some transferred from other companies, but was unable to download them and make any edits. So, they still sit on DVDs still out of order and in need of editing. Video Lab gave me downloadable options and even gave me instructions. Excited to come tomorrow and get my mp8 videos finally transferred to flash drive. I called today, the person who I spoke to us direct, no lying and just says it as it is. Obviously he knows what he is talking about. Yes, Cosco is slightly cheaper BUT no flash drive and it's on a dvd format as a movie, who uses dvd anymore? And no option just for flash drive. Plus a store since 1985, that seems like a business that knows exactly what they are doing. My videos I have is from family and we don't even have photos (originally from European country) so as you can imagine they are very precious to us and I don't feel like risking some online ship it out type of deal with something that is valuable. Dennis did an outstanding job with my dads custom photo dvd. We were able to work together to time the pictures to the words of the 2 music selections. My dad lived a very long life 98 years and there was a lot to do prior to coming to Dennis. There was also a list of things he was able to do; restoring some of the black and white. Enlarging a couple of old photos. Editing and printing up select pictures for the service. Dennis is very talented and there wasn't anything he couldn't do which was a relief with my time line. We were able to come up with a really polished and heartfelt presentation. It is something the family and close friends will cherish and have forever. The whole crew at Video Lab were supportive and complimentary of my dads life and the final product! My dad would be very proud of his life through pictures. I would highly recommend. read more

I have been here several times, all for different reasons. Once it was to have them restore an old audio CD, then for passport photos, and finally today to have some video CDs burned. I had been to another shop and I waited nearly two hours for them to make 9 copies, end result after all that time was only one copy and then their system crashed. I came here right after and they burned all the copies in less than 15 minutes. Always fast, courteous, and reasonably priced...I like that! read more

12/23/17 - The customer service at Video Lab was amazing! Each gentleman that I spoke with on the phone was extremely helpful and polite. I finished making a CD of my music just in time for the holidays and the guys at Video Lab were ready and able to take on my job. They duplicated 200 CDs for me so I could expeditiously distribute them to waiting customers. Marty, especially, was very personable and went above and beyond the call of duty to deliver a very fine product for me. I needed some old camcorder tapes transferred to DVD in a rush right before Christmas and was told by pretty much every place I went that I wouldn't get it back in time. Finally I was referred to VideoLab who got the job done in just a few days. Even doing it for less than originally quoted. Recently, I called to inquire about prices and I received the same tone a previous commenter had received! The guy on the phone was extremely rude and irritable. He was also very condescending when he had to explain to me the difference between different film types. Poor customer service and that was just over the phone!! Would I use Video Lab again ? No. Would I recommend them ? No. I brought in a VHS tape of a short wedding to transfer to DVD. They told me however it played on the VHS machine is pretty much how it will look on the DVD transfer, with possibly a little tweeking that could be done to help the quality. The tape is only 9 minutes long. It had a rough spot about 5-6 minutes in, but was still watchable. I asked if I could see the first minute or so played on their machine to check the quality and was told no. They didn't have time. I took a chance and was very disappointed upon viewing the final transfer. I was told the original tape was nearly perfect, except for the "kiss" at the 5-6 minute mark and that the tape was damaged at or about that section. When I viewed the final DVD it was much worse throughout, than the original VHS tape. Especially the last several minutes, which are almost unwatchable. The sound cuts in & out, screen turns to blue, then back and the picture is terrible. It's only a 9 minute video, so about 35-40% is bad. I paid $27.00 (with tax) for a 9 minute video that's worse than the original VHS tape. Sad. They also forgot to put the title on the DVD. I had to wait after paying while other customers were helped before they finally completed my disc. Won't be back and will look elsewhere for a new transfer. read more
