I am working on a photo collage for family memories and thought that Mike's Camera would be the best place to get the photos printed before getting the framing work done next door at Midtown Framing later this week. Unfortunately, when I picked up the photos the next day, I forgot to open the envelope in the store and you can imagine my horror when I opened it at home and saw that it was 34 copies of the same picture. I called the store earlier today and the nice lady I spoke with said that I could come in and try print them again ( but I would have to talk to the manager regarding any pricing adjustment since essentially "you only selected one photo on the kiosk and that is what we printed". I do remember picking 34 different photos on the kiosk (unless there was a technical malfunction) and in any case, why would someone need 34 copies of the same picture printed over and over again? Long story short, I love to buy/shop local but unfortunately, I won't be back here again (I will just count the money I paid for the prints as a loss and lesson learned).

Myself and two brothers went in there yesterday as we are going thru my dad's slides going back to the early sixties and forward. And I had been in the shop a few weeks ago getting an understanding of what we needed to do to convert these to electronic media. Yesterday, in the middle of maybe the fifth day of going thru the slides, the projector went out. And the projector is probably as old as the slides. Went in believing the light globe had gone out. These guy checked it out and went to work trying to find a globe that old. Not something sold these days. But they found one up stairs and likely buried eventually. The also offered advise on another part that was showing its age pretty well. When we got home, projector worked well and back to work we went. Thanks Photo Source. (I might add have used the shop a few time in colorizing old photos from over fifty year. Every one turned out awesome. So pleased)

She was very friendly at check-in, and she was patient and helpful during the shoot. I took my cat with me, and he was surprisingly cooperative for most of the shoot. This was my first time doing a photoshoot with my cat. I did book a 30 min slot, but it took half that time to get pictures taken and to order photos. I was honestly out the building before my appointment was officially over. As far as picking out photos, figuring out which deal would give me the most bang for my buck (had to figure that out and calculate it on my own), and having them ship my photos, the experience wasn't that great. I received my digital photos the day of the shoot, but I noticed one of my them was corrupted (it was lighter and more faded than the other pictures). Customer service wasn't able [or willing] to resolve that issue after sending me a link that didn't work, so I had to edit the photo myself... The rest of the digital photos came out really well, though. The wait to get my physical photos shipped to me took longer than they said it would. It didn't help that they created the shipping label a week after my shoot, so I got my photos well after Christmas. I wasted my money on the physical photos and canceled my membership after this experience just to get SOME money back. IF I ever do this photoshoot again, I hope customer service does a better job (or that I don't need to speak to them at all because none of my photos are corrupted).

This was a sort of social experiment, collecting answers to the prompt, "What do you love most about your body?" and taking photographs of local volunteer participants. I took a leap and decided to sign up for a shoot. Hint: my response to the question had to do with my teeny-tiny beginnings. One afternoon in early April, I arrived at the gate of the black and yellow DSP studio building in Alkali Flats (11th Street) for a 30-minute shoot, able to pick my own convenient time, and he was super flexible. The only instruction was to come dressed in something (outfit, hair, makeup) that makes you look good and feel good, tried my best. What a whirlwind session getting to meet David -- he was based in Davis before moving to midtown Sacramento, go Aggies! A fun experience, at ease and a such a modern, welcome, inviting, comfortable space/zone. The beautiful snapshot image for keeps was a bonus. When he says to trust his creative process, it's the truth! 42 participants later, this project final form launched in June as a blog post, and ultimately it was a celebration of body positivity. Graciously invited back in to his studio to do headshots one evening in August, brought a couple of simple tops as options. Did my own hair and makeup again, thankful my hair-toning, false eyelash self-application skills sufficed. Originally slated for a 30-minute session, David let me actually do several outfit changes and stick around to help choose the winningest photo. It was difficult to pick just one, though the others were available for purchase if wanted. So grateful to DSP for having me back. Just as the previous visit, working with David behind the lens was fun, but at the same time you can tell he remains focused, directs for poses, and even explains the pro lighting tricks. Absolutely loving my fresh new headshot photo, so simple and clean. I'd had headshots taken before but this updated one is more intimate in a lean-in kinda way. Highly recommend and happy to help him build his porfolio and get the word out. His website/blog/newsletter occasionally run promotions, such as the current "Back to You" portrait session Beauty Shoot promo through the end of September. Who else wants to look and feel gorgeous? For photography needs (portraits, headshots, whatever), David and his hair/makeup/wardrobe team elevates you to Vanity Fair magazine-style level at his regular-priced studio packages. Both of my photos were my own wardrobe, hair and makeup in the interest of time (30 minute session versus typical 2 hour shoot), but his portfolio says it all. He also does senior portraits, weddings, even pet photos (doggie "Vogue")! For beautiful photography in a signature style, see David Suh.

From day one, the communication was always on point! They were so fast to respond to me- esp Raymond! I truly felt he was my bestie during the coordinating! From the moment the team arrived, they were on it. They didn't just show up to work; they showed up with this amazing energy that made me feel like they were just as invested in the day as we were. As a bride, there is so much going on, but they made me feel so comfortable and truly beautiful the entire time. They weren't just "vendors" they were like our own personal support system, making sure we were taken care of from start to finish. The video they put together is something else. It is so obvious that they didn't just throw clips together; they really took the time to listen and watch for the parts that actually mattered. If you want a media team that is professional, talented, and genuinely kind people who make you feel like a million bucks, hire them. Thank you, Passion Studios, for capturing our day so perfectly!

We booked him when our baby was just 3 weeks old, and due to my health condition, he generously offered to come to our home--which made a huge difference for us. From the moment he arrived (30 minutes early, by the way!), he was professional, prepared, and incredibly easy to work with. What really stood out was his patience and expertise with newborns. He gave us plenty of time to feed and change our baby without ever making us feel rushed, and he gently guided us through poses so everything felt natural and comfortable. He clearly knows how to work with families and newborns, which made the entire session smooth and stress-free. And the turnaround time--wow. He delivered beautifully edited photos in less than 12 hours, which is almost unheard of. The images turned out absolutely stunning: natural, soft, and truly captured this special moment in our lives. The online gallery was also very easy to access and download. If you're looking for a reliable, talented, and thoughtful photographer--especially for newborn sessions--Raymond is the one. We're so grateful he helped us capture these precious memories with our first baby. Highly, highly recommend!
