Inside "Yaya's" not rainbow spa due to limited space per owners

I originally went on Groupon to look up massage places near our hotel for our trip. I went on yelp to read the reviews and looked into their website to see if there were any promos happening so that I could support the establishment instead of using Groupon. I read online for some that if you use a Groupon, they "forced you to tip" which I thought was strange because regardless of Groupon or not, you should always tip for massages anyways. I decided to go with Rainbow Spa & Massage as I saw on their website that they had a $119 deal for a couple's 1 hour massage. The massage consisted of hot stones, body and foot massage. I called during the beginning of the week to make an inquiry of it as well as an appointment. There is definitely some language barriers on the phone so just be mindful when making an appointment as well. I was told multiple times on the phone that this $119 deal was for cash only. From my understanding, if you paid in card you have to pay the credit card service fee? or something extra on top of it. The day of, the person called back to ensure that we were still able to make the appointment at 3pm on Friday. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our appointment because they made it seem like it was hard to find the storefront. The unit was on the side of the building and we found it fairly easy. We walked from our hotel, but they do have a parking lot if you are driving there. When we arrived to the appointment, the lady asked if we had an appointment and we told them we did at 3pm. She looked a little frazzled, and someone else came over to verify our appointment. She said that they were "full" at this location and to follow her to the other rooms in the building. That was a little confusing as we booked an appointment ahead of time so it did not make sense how they had no rooms for us. We ended up following her to a few stores down to Yaya's. Rainbow spa must own Yaya's as well because they walked in as if it was no big deal to get an empty room to do our massages. Both establishments were very clean, and they ask you to take off your shoes at the front prior to walking to the rooms. We were told the massage was 30 minutes body, 30 minutes feet. They were constantly checking in on whether it was enough pressure, which was nice. The people/owners that were working there were nice, the place was clean and they were attentive to us. The cons were how they would open the door to grab things but left the door open and the music choice was interesting. I don't mind them going out to grab the necessary supplies like the hot stones and hot towels but I would appreciate it if they closed the door a little bit while getting it. Though, it did not seem like there were any other customers there besides us at that time so there is that as well. The music ranged from traditional spa music, to music you would hear at Disneyland, to some awkward "ad noises". I hope you don't get thrown off by the weird "ad noises" that gets played every once in a while. For the price of a couple's massage and easy of appointment, I would come back if I am in the state and was looking for another massage. The masseuses were kind and would check in periodically to see if they needed to use more of less pressure. Overall, it was pretty relaxing, clean, and affordable.

The one hosted us is Lucy and my massager is Judy. Both of them are very friendly made me feel comfortable. Judy is professional and I personally like her stepping skill. This is my second visit, definitely will come back again.

My husband and I went there during our visit to Hawaii for a couple's massage, hot stones, essential oils and foot massage, a website special package, and we both were pleasantly pleased with the service. Although there was a slight language barrier but thank goodness for modern technology (language interpreter) we were able to get the best service at a reasonable price. Highest, highest recommendation for a deep, pain-relieving massage at medium pressure from Vicky at Rainbow Spa - she has to be the world's most skillful, detailed masseuse, and at a very reasonable price. She searches out all the knots in your neck and back and carefully focuses on each of them until they disappear. I get a massage from Vicky about once a month. I have been to this spa many times for a massage. I always ask for Vicky because she is absolutely the best masseuse I have ever had. The whole spa is very nice and very clean. The massage beds are comfortable and the linens and towels always feel like they just came out of the dryer. I've never had any pressure for more services or more money. This place is a nice little hidden gem as the entrance is a bit tucked around the corner so it's easy to miss but you'll be missing out if you don't come visit. Vicky was amazing and was able to accommodate a last minute request. The massage itself was great as I wound up falling asleep twice which I almost never do once let alone twice. She was able to get all the knots out of my body as I've been fairly sore from beating myself up at the gym and am not recovering as fast as when I was younger. Prices are amazing and the bed is actually softer than most places so helps with the relaxation. Highly recommend this place. read more

My daughter and I decided spur of the moment to get massages. Rainbow spa was able to accommodate us right away. Vicky and Lisa did a very thorough massage. My daughter likes soft pressure and Lisa had a good balance of massage for her. The hot stones were nice and hot but not so hot they burned. And the masseuses were so transparent and said they weren't certified for that, but will try will their best to accommodate. My MIL's masseuse asked a bunch of questions. And then we got our massages... My MIL seriously loved hers. She said her knee felt so much better. And it was way better than a Thai massage. So, MIL approved... and did I mention I absolutely loved mine???

It seems they all have a script that never is deviated from.

At $100 an hour, that's a bit more than I would normally spend on a massage, but I think by Hawaii standards, that's quite reasonable. The massage itself was professional and disciplined. Rose has years of both education and experience and can provide a massage that expertly sooths the sort of aches that can come from hours of air travel. I also liked the planetarium lighting. I never had one of those star lamps when I was a kid, and they are totally cool. Just a fun little bonus. I do want to state for the record that this is a strictly professional massage and did not involve any funny business. This was the kind of service that makes me wish I lived closer to Hawaii!

I called for the special couple hot oil plus hot stone massage. Vicky picked up the phone, and she did my massage. The other lady, Yuki did my hubby. We both enjoyed the massage, they were both very good at what they doing. Was thinking to do different, body scrub or Sweddish next visit. I recommend it to my friends, who have muscle ache, shared few pictures, and share how deep or strong they pressed spots on our back, and thought it was really good. The whole process, was clean and safe, as they changed the bed towel after us, and the other couple came inside waiting for them. The restroom area, was clean, and they followed Covid procedures, sanitize, wear masks. We will come again. Thank you for being who they are, professional at their massage services. read more
