tl;dr: excellent deep tissue/sports massage from Mel, reasonable pricing, and convenient locations,…read moreparking, and booking. The Alana location has a nicer ambiance overall, but the Hobron location has soothing vibes once inside as well. Have been coming here since 2020. Initially I saw Jackie, but sadly (for me), she moved (but congrats to her on taking some big steps in her life and career *heart*). Since then, I've been seeing Mel, the owner, for regular sports/deep tissue massage. She always makes sure to check in regarding how my body is feeling, specific areas to focus on or avoid, etc before having me disrobe. She does a great job of addressing my areas of concern as she progresses through the massage. Her firm pressure, attention to trigger points, and thorough technique always leave me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated whether I'm dealing with surfing soreness/injury or office worker related tightness. If you're looking for a therapeutic massage, this is the place to go!

Amazing massage for myself and my MIL…read more We booked General to get the Lomi Lomi. At the last minute my MIL had bad knee pain, and changed to Thai massage since that's what shes used to. And the masseuses were so transparent and said they weren't certified for that, but will try will their best to accommodate. My MIL's masseuse asked a bunch of questions. And then we got our massages... My MIL seriously loved hers. She said her knee felt so much better. And it was way better than a Thai massage. So, MIL approved... and did I mention I absolutely loved mine???

Service - 5 stars Ambiance- 5 stars…read more I visited Spa U'ilani last week for a Anti-Aging facial. I wanted to spend the entire day in here! As soon as you check in for your appointment, there are forms you will have to complete and while you do that, you are provided with a warm face towel and soothe the nerves and to begin your relaxation treatment. The staff member that greeted me was very warm and welcoming. You are offered a luxurious robe and slippers to wear during the entirety of your spa treatment. Prior to entering your treatment room, they ask you to wait in a beautifully curated and super cute room with a water dispenser and mixed nuts for you to enjoy while you wait. It was a whole vibe with low lighting , modern touches and such comfortable lounge chairs. Donna was the female who served me. She seemed very knowledgeable about how to better care for my skin and was thorough with each step she took. After your treatment, you have the option to take a nice, warm bath in their state of the art, delta showers and help yourself to the products in the bathroom. I can't wait to visit again :)

I had a wonderful massage experience at Uilani Spa from the moment I walked in. Everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. I was greeted with a refreshing hot towel for my hands and given a consent form to complete. Then I was escorted to the women's locker room with a bathrobe and slippers, where i changed and stored my belongings in a complimentary locker. Afterwards, I relaxed in a quiet, dimly lit lounge until my massage therapist, Yumiko, retrieved me. She expertly honed in on my problem areas before she began working on me. My shoulders were very tight and in pain while she worked on them. I heard my spine pop a few times. It's that moment of "Ahh..." when the pockets of tension you didn't know about are released and you wonder how much you were low grade suffering in daily life without realizing. I signed up for the lomi lomi massage, which I've never had before. I'm not sure if the hot towel treatment is part of every massage they do here but it's a nice touch that helps undo the knots. It's like Uilani thought of every little thing to help you relax beyond the massage itself. The massage cot can be adjusted to a seated position, which is how my massage ended. It's like they're easing you back into being vertical again. The experience continues: You go back to the lounge where you sip iced tea and eat a small crunchy snack before you leisurely make your way back to the locker room for a hot shower. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, a blow dryer, Q-tips... all provided for you. You're not rushed to pay and get out. This place is about 50% more than another place where i had a one year membership, but all the little touches they use to enhance your relaxation and enjoyment make the experience so relaxing. You didn't just get a massage, you got a full relaxing experience.

She really worked out a lot of the tension in my shoulders and neck. She hits the trigger points well to get the initial muscle release and then gets in there to work out the rest of the tension. Honestly wished we were more prepared and booked ahead of time so we could have done the 120 mins instead. They were so accommodating even though we booked last minute. During this time, I got Maria and she was great! She paid attention to the areas I mentioned and worked on them well. I left feeling relaxed. My husband got Mai. She is also great! I always recommend Mai to anyone looking to release those stubborn knots. I booked with her a few times before and she got a really bad back ache (due to carrying something heavy) to go away. Due to that reason, I will never forget her! (:

What stood out: - the whole place was clean, bright, and smelled lovely. Room was clean and staff was ready to get us started. - friendly front staff- very welcoming! The lady greeting us asked if was Kathleen and was happy to greet us - not in a fake way. Walked us through add ons without being pushy. - Tomo was my masseuse and was very knowledgeable. She looked at my back and could immediately see I was side sleeper. She gently asked if two places on my back were in pain - and she was right!!! She recommended both Lomi Lomi and shiatsu combo techniques and would gently warn me if something would be a little painful (it wasn't - but a little tender). She also made recommendations on my body that had low circulation (Were cold spots on my body) and how to mitigate with heating pad etc. I've never had such a thoughtful masseuse. She explained each body holds different areas of stress that can manifest as pain/knots and she loved to figure out what a client needed - like a puzzle. You can tell she took her job seriously and also wanted her client to get the very best out of the experience. One of the best massages I have had. Tomo should have her own practice, I would follow her anywhere. - my husband had a lovely woman who knew how to handle his pain points. Men are of few words but I could tell he was very pleased. Don't hesitate - book it.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to come to Loess Spa, but I'm already planning my next visit…read more For some reason, I always assumed parking would be a nightmare in Kalihi, but they actually have their own private parking lot right in front, partially enclosed with bamboo fencing, which made arriving super easy and relaxing from the start. I was honestly blown away by both the service and the amenities. I did the basic scrub package, which came out to around $100 total including the $50 entrance fee, and it was absolutely worth it. The entrance gives access to all the spa amenities including the charcoal sauna, red clay sauna, steam sauna, dry sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge tub. I came in around 10 AM without an appointment and they were still able to accommodate me for an 11:30 scrub, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend making an appointment though, especially if you're planning on getting a scrub or package service. I was able to experience all of the amenities, and for most of the saunas I actually had the rooms to myself, which made the experience feel even more relaxing and peaceful. Honestly, this would make a perfect solo date or even such a great girls' day activity. My scrub was done by Young, and she was amazing. She made me feel comfortable the entire time, maintained eye contact while speaking with me, was very personable, and provided such attentive service. You can tell she genuinely cares about making clients feel at ease. This was actually my second Korean spa experience in Honolulu, and honestly, the other one doesn't even compare to this level of cleanliness, service, and overall atmosphere. The only minor thing that made me slightly uncomfortable was during checkout while I was tipping -- another worker or possibly co-owner was standing directly behind me, and I wasn't sure if she was looking at the screen. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but it was the only moment that felt a little awkward. Other than that, my experience was amazing from start to finish. Definitely worth the visit, and I could easily see myself coming back monthly.

The facility offered a red clay room, a charcoal room, hot and cold spas, and both a dry and steam sauna. They provided a locker, a robe and slippers. Clothing is not allowed in the hot tub or cold tub. I left Young a $50 tip. I did not feel comfortable that the tip envelope that the front desk lady gave me was already used. It had been sealed before and peeled open, and it was wrinkled. My thought was that I hope the tip made it to Young in full. They have a nice garden in the front. They sell food, but I didn't try it. I ordered a coffee, which I was able to sip on after being in the steam rooms and hot spa. I would have given a 5 star based on the service and young alone, but the used envelope kept me from doing that.

It was great, the only thing that was odd was he was massaging me, and everything was great and then at the end point he just stopped and then just tapped my shoulder and said you're done. It felt very abrupt not calm and peaceful. "Thank you you so much. Have a great day. "Kind of ending to the massage. So I came back and had a two hour massage, one hour body one hour feet. Brought some friends with me, because I was so excited how great it was the first time. We were all putting in a privacy room, there was curtains dividing the beds. After the foot massage hour ended we could barely hear them. Say to us now take off your clothes. We didn't really know what was going on and I had to ask. Do you want us to takeoff part of our clothes like just our tops, they told me to takeoff your top your bra and your pants. We had no idea that we were doing that that we went with it. It was all fine, they used massage oil and lotion and they also had a hot rock massage. We all felt safe, we just didn't know that that was happening. It kind of was a little bit of a shock but all in all it was a great experience and definitely my body needed the relaxation. They also have a punchcard system, don't forget to ask for the card.
