There was way too much white rice and not enough sauce for it, and I didn't taste much spice at all despite being "medium spice". They could do with a bit less rice or more sauce for the lunch portion. I did enjoy the basil leaves adding to the flavor though. My order came from the Broad Street location. I did get the dinner portion so that I would have leftovers. My order was delivered extremely fast and it was hot when it arrived. I got an order of crispy spring rolls, they were delicious and the Classic Pad Thai, medium sauce, and with chicken, shrimp, and pork. many times over the last 10 years I have yet to have a bad experience. I recently had their sushi and it was a huge roll that I could barely finish. I believe it cost $20 next time I need to order half because it was so big that I could I couldn't finish it so I was so full. This speaks to the quality of the high standard of food that they provide. I love the ambience deceiving and even the room that you can reserve our large party here this is graduation and have a really good time. Visiting the area and had a need to Thai one on, and Siri suggested Rain Thai. If the host offers you a high top table TURN IT DOWN, and ask for a regular table. Apparently, the bartender is also the server for the high tops and she's too busy making tips from making drinks to give you the same level of service the other servers give. The only reason I'm giving them any positive stars is the Pad Prik King was fantastic!!! The right flavor and the perfect Thai hot!!! I didn't realize there wasn't any rice until I went to scoop some into my plate. Never did get the bartender's attention to ask for rice so I ate it without. I came here with a friend visiting from out of town. We were seated pretty quickly. To my surprise, I had no idea they served sushi here so we got the California roll. My friend had some type of curry, I think the Red Curry with tofu. And I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken at medium spice. Usually I order Pad Thai at different restaurants with medium spice and it's been the level of spicy that I expect. However this time, my Pad Thai wasn't spicy at all. If anything, it tasted mild with slightly spicy pockets here and there in between the noodles. So I was pretty disappointed at the spice level. Other than that aspect, my Pad Thai was good. It was flavorful, nutty, and had the perfect amount of sauce to noodle ratio. The noodles had a good consistency and the veggies were crunchy and fresh. Sushi was tasty as well. Our server checked up on us multiple times and was friendly. However at the table we were seated at, we were lacking a couple things like soy sauce and spicy/hot sauce. Rain's Thai Fried Rice was the best restaurant fried rice I've ever had. It reminded me of the fried rice my Lola made. I'd highly recommend the crispy rolls, too. They taste similar to Lumpia and are soooo delicious and flavorful. I just wish they had better sauce for dipping. A sweet chili sauce, like Mae Ploy, would've been great with the rolls. My coworker and I went here for dinner, on a Monday. They were busy we put our name on the list and waited. The host ask us if we wanted to sit at the sushi bar we said sure as long as we could eat there. We sat here and it took 15 mins for someone to wait on us and that is because we had to flag someone down. By the time we got a server he said he didn't know he had the sushi bar area today. But he didn't seem sorry or anything and not prepared to wait on us. After finally ordering the food did take some time for it to come out, but our waiter never said anything to us about this. Stopped by this place on a road trip and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was friendly and efficient. They did have a private seating area that was Japanese style where you get to sit on cushions on the floor with a low table. We wanted to order Thai tea, but they were out which is super unfortunate for a Thai restaurant. We ordered spicy basil noodles, panang curry and spicy basil fried rice all medium spicy. I've never seen panang curry with this red of a color before but it was absolutely delicious. All the portion sizes for the price were decent and there was not a single miss. I was personally a fan of the way they cooked their tofu. Nice ambience and atmosphere & of course vegetarian friendly. Highly recommend to those on the way or in the area! Last afternoon we went for a quick lunch, and the food was great, no doubt. When we left, my daughter realized that she has forgotten her Air pods, so we called the restaurant and luckily they found them. Unfortunately, I couldn't make a U-turn since my older child had a plane to catch. After leaving her at the airport we came back to Rain Bistro only to find that some Door Dasher, who had come to pick up food, also conveniently pocketed the Air pods. My daughter was devastated. She used them a lot for studying and doing school assignments. especially being the finals week. According to RB, when they find something that is left behind by the customer, they proudly put it in a wire basket right in front on the reception table. It is their practice, that is what I was told. So these high-school-drop-out nitwits, put the Airpods in the wire basket, which the dasher did not hesitate to pocket. God forbid if you lose a wedding ring, they will proudly dangle it at the reception table for someone to pluck and pocket it. Dashers are known thieves, some of them. I have restaurant and I can vouch for it. But it seems to me that this was RB's first-of-a-kind experience! Unbelievable though. When we find any valuables left behind in my restaurant, we will save it in a place where the sun doesn't shine, until the rightful owner shows up. The red curry was very watery. It was still really good, but felt like it should've been a little thicker. The service is good, but not amazing. We ordered 3 entrees. They brought out 2 of them pretty quick. They forgot to put in the third one. It was pretty annoying and it took them a while to make it even after we reminded them. We ordered take out which was an easy experience. I asked if the restaurant offered gluten-free soy sauce (some do!) and was told they do. I ordered a pad see ew with the gluten free sauce. It was not until I got home that I saw that just didn't put any sauce at all- so basically I got plain noodles and vegetables. So that's a bummer. I highly recommend this thai restaurant. I really like the chicken satay and I always get double order of it with extra sauce. It comes with a peanut sauce that is very tasty. I dined at Rain Thai Bistro on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at around 5pm. For a party of 4, we didn't wait very long, maybe 10 minutes. We sat in the "Rain room," which had spread-out, boxed in tables that were recessed into the floors. Seating was For the appetizers, we ordered steamed dumplings, fresh basil rolls, and chicken satay. Steamed dumplings were good in size, but were kinda bland and didn't have shrimp. The basil rolls were nicely rolled and light. Chicken satay were better than average compared to other Thai restaurants'. The sushi rolls had a lot of rice and were quite big. The eel rolls (dragon and Heaven&Hell rolls) had generous amount of eel. The volcano roll was heavy, but if you like a lot of cheese and cream, I'd recommend it. The classic pad Thai was a little saucy for my taste, but seasoning and flavor was on point. The talay salad was good; seafood tasted fresh. The crispy duck was a little overcooked, but was seasoned nicely. Service was excellent. Food came out in reasonable time. Our waitress, Brittany, was very attentive and accommodating. Such mixed feelings about Rain Thai. The location is great and incredibly easy to find, however their facility is a MESS. There's a gross amount of build up on their tables and the floors are so filthy it's seriously unappetizing. It's really hard to give them grace on the messy restaurant since it seems like every time we've tried to eat here they have servers just goofing off and sitting around. (Maybe they were on break? I don't know but the servers we've dealt with were always helpful and available). The food is always delicious! Obviously I HIGHLY recommend getting the food to-go and eating elsewhere. Their noodles are always perfectly cooked, and the rice has always come out great. However the protein is a hit or miss. One even we attended and all the chicken in each dish was disgustingly hard.
