    Turkey wing special

Great variety of bbq at a decent cost. You have to place your order at the register then you sit down and and your food will be brought out to you. This wasn't clear to me and my group of 4 as we came for lunch, but we figured it out and enjoyed our meal. I had the Turkey wings special and it was delicious! Plentiful helping and I had enough for dinner. Highly recommend

What a great little bbq joint. Friendly service and very good tasting food. The collard greens were a standout, as was the fact that there was so much flavour in the brisket that I only tried the sauces as an after thought. It was also sparkling clean, always nice to see. Friendly service, lots to look at on the walls and an all-round nice time.

The southern bbq we were looking for! Legendary ambiance with iconic political and cultural decor; service was sincerely hospitable and flavor of food truly delectable. Truly the best chicken wings I've had and all the sides were on point. Only wish to have had the banana pudding but it says a lot that it was sold out! Cheers to this memorable dining experience!

My first time here! Definitely will be back! Everything was flavorful! The hash and rice I love. The young man assisting us did warn it wasn't pork & mustard based like most hash. He was sweet and let us taste it before deciding. It's made with their brisket and a tomato base, kinda on the sweet side. It was really good if you like sweet which I do. My win was the collards and kale. I got mine mild and again it had a hint of sweet and a good amount of spice. Perfect combination. My hesitation to give a 5 was two things. The Texas toast wasn't buttery and the rice seemed to be the boil in a bag rice. I also had the pulled pork which was moist and smoky and really tender. I tried all 3 of the sauces but the mustard was my favorite. My wife had the ribs with Mac and cheese and baked beans all very tasty as well. Next time I'll try the brisket and other sides. The services were amazing. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The ambiance is very sporty to our community which gives it a nice touch, I enjoyed the different pictures and pieces from different eras and times of Columbia. If you're from here they're familiar. The outdoor space was immaculate. If they take any recommendations, I definitely recommend utilizing the space for more outdoor events. Maybe some jazz on the deck. It has a lot of potential !

Wayne was amazing!!! Super friendly and all of his recommendations were credible. I came in on a Friday afternoon. The place was about 65% packed and luckily I got to order before a huge party. I waited less than 15 min for my food and everything was delicious. Come try it for yourself!! The ribs were delicious. I had to add on fried okra, perfectly crispy! I got a half and half drink. Great mix between sweet and tangy. They have 3 different bbq sauces, all distinct flavors! Soooo i mixed all three and boom, you dont have to decide!!! Parking lot is tight, but plenty of street parking. Come check out this place. Ask for Wayne and tell them Mo sent you!

The place had a casual, laid-back vibe that fits a BBQ joint perfectly, and the staff were friendly and efficient even when it got busy.

This place was an absolute must try after seeing it pop up in my feeds. I checked the website and…read moreit showed they were closing in an hour. I called and tried to place a Togo order and they do not allow for that. They did say though that they keep serving customers even if it's past closing. So took the drive to the other side of Columbia and it was very much worthwhile. They sell out of things and so if things are cross off the menu, then you should have went earlier. I missed out on the smoked links. It was pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon and there were not that other many people in the dining area. Hopefully, that's just because it's a Sunday in South Carolina. The burnt ends, wings, wings, collards, beans, corn bread and rich with hash we're all stand outs. The staff was very friendly and helped make this place a gem that I'll highly recommend.

I feel like barbecue spots might follow a similar playbook regarding meats, smoke, sides, and…read moresauce, but they certainly are not created equal. When I was visiting my sister in Columbia, South Carolina, she told me about City Limits Barbecue and since there was only one day on our calendar that they would be open, our schedule was set. We got there pretty early after they had opened, but there's still was a line out the door. A little bit into our wait in line the owner/chef came out to talk us through the menu, his process, and recommendations. This was such a cool touch. I loved hearing about everything that he put into the product and the passion he has for his cooking. As you can imagine... The food was SPECTACULAR. Look, the brisket was absolutely top-notch and this beef rib was possibly the most tender chunk of meat I have ever had. We also got a half pound of their chopped whole hog option with crispy skins, and while it was delicious and flavorful, it didn't have the smoke or barbecue flavor without sauce that I was looking for. Of course, we had to go with practically an appetizer sampler of the sides and if I would've been able to put the food away, I would have just ordered one of everything. The collard greens were really good and not overly bitter, this sweet jalapeño coleslaw was maybe one of my favorite coleslaw recipes I've ever had, but the star of the show in my opinion were the sweet beans which was what most people would call baked beans. The amount of time, effort, and attention to every flavor in these beans was 10/10. Talk about bringing a humble ingredient to life. The cornbread was as amazing as you would imagine and the carrot cake was delicious. If you're looking for something unique with their barbecue, opt for the brisket sandwich with chili con queso or the Texicano. I was being a purist snob and just wanted the beef rib, but I stole a bite of my sister's sandwich and holy cow... Starve yourself the day before you visit, arrive early, and prepare to have a religious experience.

Excellent pulled pork BBQ, in 3 or 4 different styles/ flavors. My favorite was the smoked whole hog where you pull off what you want. Everything was fresh and delicious. Top of the line all you can eat BBQ for South Carolina and I can't think of any BBQ that beats the price. Plenty of seating and it was not too loud. We were able to carry on great conversation. It's not fancy, and that's part of the charm. The BBQ is incredible, the fried chicken is perfection, the ribs don't miss, and the buffet is stacked with comfort-food goodness. I'm not usually a buffet girl, but this is the exception every single time. I usually end up with a whole plate just for sides because how do you choose between sweet candied yams, fried okra, collard greens, and mac & cheese? (Spoiler: you don't. You get them all.)
