Looking for a quick, healthy brunch in Durango on vacation, I came across Raider Ridge Cafe. Sitting in the back of an older strip-mall, this place is a classic Colorado mountain/college restaurant. Boasting a simple menu of wraps and smoothies, it fit the bill for us. The decor is "mountain hippie" without going too far into the "ashram" category. I got the "Big Canyon" which contained potatoes, beans, mushrooms and spinach and a smoothie. My wife got a breakfast wrap of some sort and green chile stew. All were fresh and tasty except the green chile stew, which was a bit too thick. My smoothie was very good (a green one into which they added house-made almond butter), though the apple juice made it REALLY sweet. I'd grab a wrap from here again next time I'm in Durango. read more

Driving through on our way back home to Denver we stopped here. I was looking for some vegan options and they happily modified their peanut sauce wrap for me and subbed avocado for the chicken. They also made my smoothie dairy free and added extra fruit to replace the yogurt. My partner got the fish taco and was very pleased with the flavor and amount of food. Everyone who works there was super nice and helpful. We'll be back next time we stop through! read more

Wow, why did we only find this on our last day in Durango! Everyone in our party LOVED the food which was wholesome and delicious! And importantly, quick! We didn't think it was humanly possible to make delicious food this quickly. As for specific recommendations, the mango mountain smoothie was particularly good! The hippie veg wrap was delicious too! Holy unmitigated crap. This place was delicious. I had the "Sharktooth Hash" I think it was called, plus a local blend coffee with a little honey. I just... Seriously. They offer counter service to order coffee, smoothies and sandwiches. Both of the staff seemed more interested in chatting about which smoothie they were going to have for lunch than in me. I had to pay close attention to the smoothie ingredients since most contained yogurt, milk or honey. The Red Mango smoothie wasn't very interesting but my husband liked it. I really enjoyed the Coco Cabana with sweet fruit & coconut flakes. The menu offers one vegan breakfast wrap & one lunch wrap along with vegan green Chili. There are a couple more wraps that could be modified to satisfy a vegan. They work with local farmers & list all of their local ingredients on a chalkboard which is a nice idea. None of the baked goods are vegan-friendly but they do offer almond, soy & coconut milk for lattes. I had one conversation with a server who was trying to legitimize the use of honey. If I'd written this review immediately, I would have given them a 2. It is long passed the point for any vegan to explain or defend our compassionate choices. However, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he was asking because he was interested in learning more & just communicated that poorly. Because of this interaction, I won't be rushing back but it is a solid choice for any vegan who is traveling through! read more

Im out of town on a road trip, I googled the nearest laundry mat near me and Raider Ridge Cafe was right next door, which I was thankful because I needed food! You order at the counter, the servers were polite, the service was quick and I love that they have nitro coffee, healthy lunch food and smoothies. I ordered the telegraph wrap and it was yummy. Found this place passing though Durango on Labor Day when seemingly every place in town was closed or had a long wait time. I really liked this place. The burrito had fresh ingredients and everything felt cozy, comfortable, and great staff. The only thing I wish was different was spicier green chile, but I recognize not everyone's tastebuds want a smothered burrito to leave their mouths on fire. Local coffee brew was excellent. Picked up some kombucha. Pleasantly surprised by how smoothly this place operated with high volume of customers. I couldnt find a reason not to give it a five. Breakfast all day. Their wraps are really big and tasty, not greasy at all. There baked goods are from scratch with real blueberries. My family LOVES this place. My daughter has tried every smoothie place in Los Angeles where we live and always comments that nobody makes better smoothies than Raider Ridge. Its the Passionate Peach smoothie that is the bomb. Is there crack in it? So addicting and yummy! And the Durango Chicken Wrap is the best wrap IMO. I highly recommend the food. There are great grab-and-go breakfast burritos and sandwiches. The larger made-to-order breakfast burritos are excellent, too. They are fresh and made with quality ingredients. (Just make sure you say you want eggs, since that isn't assumed.) The atmosphere is nothing special but I usually get mine to go anyway. The smoothies are great and they will adapt a little if you ask. Sometimes they get backed up on smoothies and espresso drinks so it can take a few minutes to order. That is because there is someone sitting at a table waiting for their coffee. And the kitchen is small so made-to-order food can take 5-10, but that is what it means to have fresh food. The one disappointment is the change they made to gluten free baked goods. The pumpkin chocolate chip bread used to be amazing but they changed their flour and they are now too dense. There aren't usually any lines, unlike College Drive Cafe! - Wraps galore! So fresh and yummy. - Grab a nice post-workout smoothie and add whatever you want to it, like espresso or granola. I have both in my smoothie right now! Nommmm - Chill place to get work done or read. Wifi is available! Many coffee options and pastries, too! - Very nice atmosphere and ambience. Brightly colored walls make me happy, as well as all the local artwork they hang up. They are changing it out right now as I am writing this, haha. - Small and cozy, but can accommodate a big group (not really more than one huge group, there is one long table in the center for this purpose. - Yummy soups and salads, too! - Build your own breakfast burritos for $5.75. We got the Bear Pie Smoothie and it was amazing...reminded me of drinking an apple berry pie. We also ordered breakfast and were very impressed!! End of November 2014. Called in there due to high Yelp rating, and local hotel did not carry the "free breakfast". We were almost the only ones there (two adults and three kids under 11). Limited to wraps and smoothies, but with a special menu for Sundays. All very high quality and local ingredients, pulled together with nice, low-key service. Raiders Ridge was once a corner pocket secret, a delectable delve into a healthy retreat where locals and art could snuggle up and enjoy locally sourced ingredients wrapped up into hand held treats. However, this cozy corner turned hard-felt locals from regulars to reguhaters. After many smoothie, cups of coffee and wraps, my partner and I were close to filling a smoothing punchcard upon which you receive a free smoothie jar. Finally, the awaited dat approaches! Radiant smiles as smoothie goodness comes within reach a sustainable jar of my own . . . Got jipped out of that having to buy more than what was expected as well as dealing with an indecorous employee. We're regulars and locals, give us a break!? Of course, this was no kitkat commercial and a break we were never to have again, EVER. We try again for a simple cup of how months later, ready to reconcile our poor tastes with new eyes, yet upon close to closing a simple drip we wish, they say we're closed but help two there with fatty wraps and smoothies as there are tow of them instead of one. A simple drip coffee with my own mug takes 45 seconds full metal jacket, but no no, whoever wants more must be served first. Raiders ridge was once a haven and now a pit of poor service.
