Food was excellent. The staff was good. I had to call for them couple of times. Atmosphere did not line up with the name. I was looking for a mor Nola feel, its reads more like sports bar.

Blackened redfish and crawfish etouffee, I'm in heaven. Shrimp Chardonnay, two of my wife's favorite things. Ignore the laminated menu. The good stuff is on the specials. The bartenders, Kenzie and V and our server, Francisco , were all AWESOME.

I was there last week for lunch, It was my first time, service was a little slow, it took a while for the food to arrive. The tables were too close to one another, ambience is okay, I am not impressed in my sandwich it's dry.

I love Ragtime Cafe! It's family friendly and spacious. I enjoyed watching tv in the dining area. It was cozy. The steak bigger was amazing! I loved it. I definitely recommend you try it!

My girl Brooke rocked the bar tonight. Place was slammed food and drinks going out on spot. Food was great service was fantastic.

Brooke was fantastic. Packed bar and restaurant. Never missed a step. Great bar and kitchen staff

Came to Ragtime for an early dinner/ late lunch. We were seated quickly. Our server Diana took care of us as best she could. She had lots of tables to see about. We got some onion rings and queso for apps. They came out in good time. But it took a long while for our meals to actually come. Seems like forever when your waiting. I was so happy that they had black eye pea jambalaya soup for today. It's so good but it's on a rotation so it's not always available when I go. I got the combo soup and club. Both were yummy! Not very many dessert options so we skipped that. But no real disappointment... food was good!

Found it right here on Yelp. Sandwich was delicious and a great value for the quality of the steak. Place was packed and service was perfect and the kitchen was prompt. Next time in town, I will be back.

Names can be deceiving! Cafe usually means: a small restaurant selling light meals and drinks; ie, coffeehouse. Ragtime Cafe is a straight up bar that tries to pull off a sports theme, and oh yeah, they sell food. As soon as we walked in the bar was standing room only! The hostess stand was empty and we had to wait on someone to greet us. The server that took us to our table took our drink order and never returned. Finally a second server came to take our drink order and see if we had any questions. Menu prices were over priced for "bar food." We orders the combo appetizer and some fried dill pickle chips. We tried spending our time having a conversation while waiting on our food, but the crowd volume was very loud. The dining room was packed and too get out a paetron had to move his chair out of the way. (Something tells me it is against fire code to block the exit to the dining room.) The food finally came after about a 30 min wait. (too long for appetizers) The combo appetizer included: Mozzarella sticks, loaded potato skins, wings and chicken fingers. The plate was covered with the grease from the wings, which were overcooked and dripping with too much sauce. The "loaded" potato skins were dry, poorly seasoned and had a little cheese, some bacon bits and a pinch of green onion. The chicken fingers were large, chewy, stringy and overcooked. The "mozzarella" sticks were a frozen, pre-made, processed cheese product. (Please remove mozzarella from the name, because it doesn't include any actual mozzarella) The marina sauce was vinegar, sugar and tomato paste. Just overall BAD! Ranch dressing was watery, honey mustard appeared to be homemade but had an overall tart mustard flavor. (no honey involved) BBQ sauce was very good, very familiar flavor. (ie: sweet baby rays!) The fried dill pickles appeared to be made in house and not frozen. Thick dill pickle chips , lightly battered and served with a spicy cajun sauce. They were very good! Diet Coke was excellent!!! Two stars due to polite server, fried pickles and Diet Coke. If you into overpriced, poorly done bar food, overly loud atmosphere and forgotten fire codes, then this place might be for you. Just not for us! Unfortunately, will NOT be back to this "cafe".

This lovely little cafe is a favorite with the locals. It's a great place to catch a game on one of their TVs and cheer for your favorite team, have family dinner, enjoy a night out, or just have a good time. While there is no appointed happy hour they do have drink specials. They often have live music and have a nice outdoor seating area. If you are looking for quiet, look elsewhere because this little cafe can get pretty loud. I met a group of friends here for a girls' night out. It was pretty busy and we had to wade through the crowd. The hostess was friendly and after a bit of waiting took us to our table. There was a band playing outside but the outdoor seating was full. We wound up at a nice table by a window. Thank goodness the band was good because we couldn't hear anything else. We enjoyed ourselves even though we had to scream to hear each other. The food was delicious. They have a nice variety on their menu as well as specials on both food and drink. I got their Cajun Shrimp Pasta and it was SO good! That Cajun cream sauce is awesome! The shrimp had the perfect sear, the penne was perfectly cooked, and the red bell peppers and Cajun sausage... mmmm. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it. I got their Key Lime Pie for dessert and it was also delicious. We had a marvelous time. I Highly recommend Ragtime! It's a fun place, with great food, service, and live music nights. The cafe is clean and the staff is friendly. Sign up for their club and get a voucher on your birthday as well as be informed of new specials.

When you get to the light at the corner of 31 and Pelham Park Blvd, just look to the right and you'll see a quaint little white building. Behind it is the Pelham Public Library which looms over Bullet and to the other side of Bullet is Edgars Bakery. As mentioned BC has been there about a year now. The other BC is on 280 and there's one more in Fairhope. All are owned by the same individual who also owns their sister store the Red Mountain Expresso. BC is not technically another "pop up" coffee place because this is actually a brick and concrete building albeit it's just big enough to be a full service drive thru, but it doesn't have any seating inside or out. Just a drive thru. The drive-thru is planned nicely so it's easy to get to the order window then around to the pickup/pay window. Their menu options long and diverse but also typical of any coffee place. They also serve fresh daily sausage biscuits and pimento cheese biscuits. They have specialties like the Turtle latte, Classics like cold brew, blended drinks like frappes and non coffee drinks like iced teas and chai. I was lucky today because they are in middle of running a special called Frappy Hour good for another week. From 3-6pm all medium frappes are $2! I tried the Java Chip and Cookie & Cream. She asked me if I wanted the "coffee" or "milk" based. The coffee is the traditional way but the milk would be more like a milkshake. I chose coffee. I didn't get whipped cream which was offered. I only had to wait a couple minutes after paying. She even gave me a frequent visitor card. Get 10 drinks, get the 11th free! The cookies and cream was good, but the java chip was even better. Nicely blended, cool and refreshing on this warm afternoon. Yom Yom Yom Yom. It hit the spot! Welcome to Pelham BC!

When I arrived, there was at least seven cars in front of me, which was a good sign. The drive-through is a little narrow. You order through one window and then you pick up on the other side of the window. I ordered an iced rush-hour coffee and after lighthouse which I got. The consistency was creamier than I would've liked other iced coffees. I've had are more liquidy. It was good. It wasn't the best. I probably will be back to try the other different flavors. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Besides the drive-through you can also walk up and get coffee. The staff working here are mostly teenagers or college students, who are very attentive and professional despite their young age. The owner clearly picked out incredible folks to be here who make Baba Java feel both welcoming and well kept. The interior of the space is fairly basic coffee shop design, but admittedly, a little bit dated in 2026 and lacks the unique vibe of some other independent coffee shops. Window views facing the strip mall parking lot don't create much of an ambiance either. With that said, design is not the main thing to come here for. The coffee is excellent and priced very reasonably, offering a great value for an establishment of this sort. There is easy to access WiFi and an overall feeling of being welcomed. A solid little coffee shop that allows customers to support some local business owners instead of a big chain.
