The moment I walked in, I was greeted by not one, but TWO friendly smiles and "good mornings!" We had a quick conversation about my coffee preferences, and the sweet girl and gentleman behind the bar whipped up two breve cortados for me -- one Orange Cardamom and the other their seasonal Rose Chocolate. I noticed the roast was a little darker than what I normally prefer, but it smelled incredible. Then came the first sip... WOW. Such a beautifully balanced drink! The roast was smoky, rich, and chocolatey without being overpowering. Both drinks were great, but the Orange Cardamom was absolutely the winner for me. The citrus and spice worked perfectly with the espresso. EPIC CUP!!!!! Fantastic coffee, genuinely friendly service, and a place I would absolutely come back to.

Eek! Better run away fast because this place is unsanitary, rude, and full of themselves. It's amazing this business has been around this long, since the ambiance is that of stale cracker soaking in moldy water. I went on April 13. Service is horrible, was treated like yesterdays toilet paper after inquiring about what drinks are their best/ most popular. Was rudely talked to by the young lady working the register, she's mentioned many times as the black haired girl with tattoos in other unhappy reviews, but I would refer to her as the barista with the attitude of a wolverine. Her family must own this business or I don't see why anyone would employ someone that lacked more decency than a sailor swearing at a 1 year old's birthday party. I just wanted to know more about a new place, not deal with yet another reason why people demonize those working in the food service industry. It's people like her who make me want to stick to coffee at home, at least my scones wouldn't be burnt. Trust me the convenience isn't worth it, used the unmarked bathroom and found mold under the sink! If you wanted to see a science experiment you are better off going to Biosphere2, but if you want to test a health experiment go to Raging Sage. They will leave mentally abused, physically sick, and wishing you got gas station coffee instead. read more

Had kind of a hot/cold relationship with this coffee shop. It is undeniable that their food and coffee is really good. Their scone flavors are varied and always delicious. My favorite drink is the mint dream. Sometimes it's better than others but willing to overlook some inconsistencies there. However, and this is a big however, their baristas are truly so unfriendly. I've been coming here for the better part of 2 years and thought I was making some headway with some of them. But came in this morning with almost no one else there and the barista stood on their phone until I came to the register. (I don't particularly care about that) But then I went to order and no smile, no "hi", no "what can I get you?", just took the order, didn't acknowledge that I'd finished paying and it'd be out in a sec. As I sat and the cafe filled up, I could hear a bit more conversation from them. It's hard not to take this personally if I'm being honest. I've worked in the coffee/food industry for a long time and frankly, if you don't like someone, FAKE IT. Getting harder to come back here when it really seems like the baristas are aggravated that you're there. I'm really not some old boomer, just a young 30s adult trying to have a somewhat pleasant interaction with a place I'm paying money at. read more

Yep, agree with others.. I've been going here for 6+ years. Over the last few years the prices have gone up and the caliber of worker has gone way down. They seem to hire young people with zero customer service skills, they are just unfriendly and rude. Today when I went in I was wasn't greeted with a "hello" or "welcome" I was told I have to be masked to be served seriously ?! I happily went down the road to their competitor and spent my money.. Clearly not only are they COVID ignorant, they don't need customers either.. It will be interesting to see how that works out for their business and their jobs... Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Tucson is filled with great coffee shops with good service and no stupid mask mandate! read more

The coffee at Raging Sage is great. However, the interior is too small, and it's rather difficult to find a parking space. Every time I go to Raging Sage, I end up hunting for a parking spot. The little parking lot behind the store is too small and difficult to access from Campbell Ave. Once inside the shop, I always end up waiting in line for several minutes. Because the interior of the shop is so small, I'm standing right on top of the customers who are seated. I suggest Raging Sage finds a better location with more room and a bigger parking lot. That said, I have always been happy with the coffee. read more

There is really no other way to describe the service here but as rude. As in: I've seen better service at the Department of Motor Vehicles rude. Especially the dark haired, tattooed head barista who acts more like an aspiring Soviet apparatchik than someone in customer service. She seems to go out of her way to be mean and moody towards her customers, whom she treats as irritants to be dealt with rather than, you know, customers who are the bread and butter of the business. If you want to have an enjoyable cafe experience first thing in the morning, go elsewhere. read more

This used to be such a fun, warm and pleasant place to occasionally hang out, get a pastry and meet friends. But many of th baristas have adopted some kind of an alienated, semi-hostile attitudes towards their customers. This negative atmosphere seems to be most present when the black-haired, very tattooed young manager is there. She really takes the cake for moody, irritable hipsterish attitude of the worst kind. It seems to me that customer service really is not her thing and, unfortunately, her behavior seems to be casting s pall over the whole place. read more

Espresso here is bitter and they pull the shots ahead of time so its far from fresh. They have steamed milk waiting on the side so that's also not fresh. I normally get 8oz lattes which are not even an option here, but instead i ordered a cafe' au lait. I used to frequent this quaint coffee shop because of its proximity to my home and their tasty coffee and bites; however after a rather bitter encounter with the blond hippie owner, all I can say about the place is that she is one raging bee-ach. Coffee is hands down just bad, over roasted, way to dark. Other than the burnt coffee, I like the look of the shop. The pastries are pretty good, although mostly just sweet ones, and not a fan of scones in general. I would say a place for a late night date and tea? Definitely not for coffee or snacks. Wi-Fi is only on at special times, so not good for doing work or studying. I would just walk down all of half a block to Cartel, better coffee, better Wi-Fi, and hours. read more

If you like coffee and espresso do not waste time at raging sage. They are far from knowing what coffee is, everything from lattes to macchiatos are just made with the littlest care.
