Beautiful orange trees shade their back patio and occasionally live music await you, and coffee, really good coffee. I enjoy Raging Sage for the wonderful quaint atmosphere they offer and the delicious coffee and baked goods they have freshly prepared. I am by no means any expert on coffee but I know when I like something good, and when I am still thinking about it days later...that's enough insensitive for me to continue to be a patron. The staff is also very kind and friendly. The interior is small and cozy, so it can get a little crowded during rushes, you might have to sit outside and there might be a line...but as the saying goes, it is well worth the wait. Yummmmm!!!! The coffee was fantastic. The line was out the door so it must be known that this is a great place to stop. I had an almond milk latte and the overall flavor was just very unique. It's clear they use some sort of special roast. I also tried a raspberry jam scone that was the perfect pairing. The outdoor seating area was by far the best part. This is the best coffee shop in Tucson! The treats are amazing and so is the coffee and tea. My favorite treats include: super natural brownies and coconut and pecan scones. I always have to exercise self restraint against these temptations when going in for coffee. The coffee is great too. I've bought bags to brew at home, though when I'm there I generally order the vanilla latte. The 12oz size has two shots and the 16oz has three (as opposed to Starbucks' one and two respectively). I found that out the "hard" way. If you're coming here to study, they don't have wifi. I think it effects who sticks around and hangs out there...in a good way. :-) read more

This place is great. For the days sitting inside may seem cramped, they have some incognito outlets hanging in the trees. Bathroom is always spotless, the dish bin is always empty, & table are cleared before the door even closea behind the guests. I always get an iced dirty chai, & im definitely a fan of the espresso they use. Added bonus is that they have almond milk. Place can get a bit cramped, but ive always recognized that as a characteristic of a stellar coffee shop, & this place is. This is my favorite coffee place in Tucson. It is down to Earth, straight forward and has a homemade feel to it. That might be because all of their pastries are delicious but not overdone. The scones are the best! The vegan scones are my favorite and I'm not even vegan. They're just that delicious!! Sitting inside is nice, open and well lit (both artificially and naturally). The courtyard is quaint and comfortable with the Orange trees giving it a backyard feel. It's a great place to walk to, meet with friends or have a morning outing with your loved one. The reviews about the lady with the black hair were all true. I told her what I wanted in the bakery case, she didn't listen so she asked again. I then asked what was warm and she very rudely said,"we are busy." I was the only person in line and they were not busy. The coffee is good but the scone was doughy. On occasion we'll pay $16 for two lattes and a scone, but not again here considering obvious rudeness. read more

I'm a native Tucsonan and continue to visit my parents several times throughout the year. We ordered several drinks and pastries one morning December 2018, and we waited 10-15 minutes before asking what was happening with the drinks. The skinny chick with tattoos accused us of taking the drinks we ordered and she continued to insinuate that we were taking multiple drinks from the bar (which we'd be standing at patiently for 15 minutes) each time we politely asked if our drinks were ready. My partner and I both work in service industries and understand the stress of a busy morning with impatient customers. This is definitely not the same establishment I used to frequent in my teens and twenties. I don't appreciate dropping over $20 in food and coffee along with a pre-paid tip (can I get that back now??) for the surly privileged attitude and rude service that everyone received that morning. We weren't the only ones comparing that morning. Maybe it was last night's cocaine or that we were gay? Either way, here's to hoping your 2019 outlook is more promising than the last years. The young blacked hair boy has the worst attitude. He literally mistreated all the customers for the two hours I was there. I witnessed this last time I was there and dismissed it thinking that he was having a bad day. You can't be having a bad day everyday. I have been coming to this place for almost an year. Met a friend for a chat one early morning. My coffee palate isn't incredibly sophisticated, but my large cuppa was hot and quick and strong. The orange cranberry scone was amazing, and I love the patio seating. Their credit card machines were down that morning, but the server let us know well ahead of time that it wasn't working, and apologized. Luckily, I had some cash on me. As far as I know, that was an unusual event. If they had wi-fi and more power available, it'd have been 5 stars. The coffee was fine but not exceptional; the pastries were fine but not exceptional. The place was packed, which I guess is a good sign, but less good if you're hoping for a place to sit. Also not a lot of parking, if that's something that matters to you. They do have a cute patio surrounded by orange trees, and that probably improves the experience during times of year when it's not hot as balls outside. Planning to give it a second shot eventually, but I wasn't blown away. read more

I just moved to Tucson and I have been looking for my go-to coffee spot. I ordered the The Vietnamese coffee, which is 4 shots of expresso over condensed milk with ice. The Raging Sage is about the Raging Sage coffee blend. It earns my five stars for the blend. The blend makes a perfect cappuccino or latte. It is a rich near chocolate tasting cup of flavorful coffee. We used to visit the coffee shop when we would visit our daughter who has since graduated from the University of Arizona. I live in Sonoma County, CA. We have great coffee and coffee shops. Every once in awhile I miss my cup of Raging Sage. The Raging Sage- a Great place to meet friends for a good cup of coffee. I recently dipped into the Raging Sage for a rather pleasurable experience. The Baristas were incredibly friendly and, considering the line was out the door, very calm and collected. Their coffee is deliciously pungent and left a great aftertaste. The Scones were also delicious. Don't think I would ever mark down on this, since I wouldn't, but the raging sage is more of a hipster settlement. This is in no way a bad thing, but I did get quite a few stares when I walked in with my tight fitting Captain America shirt and my plaid shorts. If anything, it was comical! Now, the reason for 4 stars... no Wi-fi! You're killin me here guys! We're in the 21'st century now. Lets step it up a bit! This place is really cute and, weather permitting, the outdoor patio is a lovely place to sit. BUT- in the heat of the summer, when the patio isn't an option, their indoor space is really small and the tables are very close together so that you are right next to whoever is at the next table. Not cool. As far as food goes, they have pretty standard bread and pastry fare- no salads, sandwiches, or anything substantial. Most of it is stuff with a lot of sugar in it. This is by far my favorite coffee place in Tucson! The whole place smells like delicious spices when you walk in. Grab a warm scone (baked fresh throughout the morning) and sit outside on the patio under the orange trees. It is a little Tucson oasis. It's a great place to read a novel or meet a friend, but if you're looking to study or get work done this may not be for you - no internet in the AM to accommodate the breakfast crowd and not a whole lot of space to spread textbooks out on a table. Just ran out of my favorite Kona Coffee. So I decided it was time to sample roasters here in Tucson. Yelp is my first stop for reviews. I have had great luck with all things Tucson through Yelp. After reading Raging Sage reviews Into GPS and try it out. Oh my it was 2:00 in afternoon and packed with people and good smells. Picked out a French roast Sumatran beans of course. So now I have my coffee of choice for the winter, however I am going to try several of their coffees and roasts. By the way the pastry I sampled was out of this world. If i could give negative stars I would. I've never been so disrespected in a coffee shop before. I used to love this place and I would go here all the time with my boyfriend until today. My friend and i walk in expected to get some work done and I decided not to get any more coffee since I just got back from an espresso tasting at Savaya. Not even 4 minutes into me sitting down the cold barista comes up to me and says "If youre going to be taking up our space, we'd prefer you buy something". I know this is a policy at other stores so I was considering getting something when another barista approaches me and lets me know yet again what a big waste of space I am. At this point theres no way I would ever spend my money there. Considering it was a space issue, my friend and I sit at the same table to open up another table for others. Then we see that barista go back and talk some sh** about me and then proceeds to SHUT DOWN THE WIFI in the whole shop. So now no one is able to do anything in the whole shop. When asked by other customers why it's not working the black haired barista goes "oh, we just restarted it." but when my friend goes to ask about it she says "Maybe if your friend bought something the wifi might work, I will even give her $2 to buy something, its just our policy" what kind of whack policies do they have at raging sage? a real disappointment and people like this should not be left in charge. do yourself a favor and dont waste ur money here. read more

This is a wonderful local coffee shop. It smells absolutely delicious when you walk in. They have really good iced tea, and their patio is shaded by live trees. They have water buckets scattered around outside to make it a very dog friendly place. I sat for a while and read a book, and didn't feel pressured to leave or order more. They bake their own food, and it is just a cool local place. Possibly the best in town. If you don't now it. You should. If you are visiting Tucson, and are a coffee lover then you MUST come here! Years ago when I was in town, for a brief period of time, they sold really awesome deli sandwiches. For some reason they didn't do this long, perhaps problems with the vendor, but they were delish, and I miss that. Would love to have a good quality sandwich here for lunch. The atmosphere is really nice and the customer service was awesome but for such a vegan friendly cafe I was disappointed to find out they charge a dollar for milk substitutions. Plant based milks don't cost that much more and it discourages people from trying new milks if it cost that much more. read more
