The Alaskan crab legs were also meaty and delicious. I recommend the Ragin Special sauce which is like a combo of lemon pepper, garlic butter, cajun and some other spices. Spending the day at Ventura beach was my excuse to get this place. So many 5 star reviews, I needed to try myself. Well I had a different experience. First let me say the place itself is very clean and decorated nice, not over the top. The service was fast and our server was nice and attentive. The food however lacked something. Ordered the Cajon fried shrimp, clam chowder, Lobster po'boy, shrimp po'boy and the crawfish po'boy. So of all that the cajon fried shrimp was the item that was tasty, messy but delicious. The clam chowder just didnt have enough character to it, it seemed straight from a can. If it wasnt I couldnt tell. Now for all the po'boys they all looked amazing but they lacked flavor. The breading on the outside of the crawfish and shrimp had no flavor. The lobster had same problem, there was no breading it was served cold but it also had no flavor. It wasnt that they tasted bad they just didnt have taste. I'm somebody that if I want to have a sandwich the meat needs to have some flavor, just some to help balance it. The bread was perfectly toasted there was a sauce on the bread and veggies but honestly the sauce just didn't make the sandwich pop, the sandwich was depending on this sauce for flavor and it didnt deliver. The ice tea was pretty tasty m, they have a variety of drinks I didnt try but maybe next time. Maybe I need to try something different here another day. read more

Friday Night at it only took 5 minutes to get a table. I sit down with my Daughters for an amazing Shrimp dinner where we ordered the Combo Special getting mild spice with Garlic Butter flavor. They were slammed and I figured we would have to wait forever but they fast with the drinks, quick with the apps and our main bag came out with incredible speed. We have divulged our cravings by driving the hour to our nearest Boiling Crab but the drive has never been worth the wait or taste. To find out we had a seafood super power here right in Oxnard was a great find. The bag arrived piping hot and as soon as the seal of the bag opened the gust of southern steam pierced our nostrils with such delight. As my Daughters eyes opened with starvation in unison I noticed they were both gloved up and ready for war. Without asking they dove head first into the bag and began to make a mound of Shrimp skeletons on the table. There is a little secret to the madness at this location and it starts with the small cup of pepper and salt. With the lemons they supply squeeze four into the cup and when your bag arrives pour some of the bag juice into your cup. Now you've got what we call Cajun Heaven Sauce!!! This mixture of sweet, heat and treat will break dance your tastebuds for the entire meal. Our method to the madness is to peel the shrimp and crush that luscious ocean meat into our Cajun Heaven Sauce so it soaks up all the elements. With that being said you have to think about a side order of rice. With the mess they call a meal you will notice random juices and flavors spilled all over your table. Take your provided cup of rice and flip it rice down and run from edge to edge soaking up all those lost flavors to create your very own Dirty Rice... not to be confused with Oxnard's very own Reggae band Dirty Rice who's album is available on iTunes but a Rice Dirty of amazing flavors. Been wanting to come here for awhile and was not disappointed! We had the live crawfish and shrimp head on in the Ragin Special sauce. Both were great, but the live crawfish was incredibly fresh and the heads were sweet. The sauce was amazing as well with a hint of a sweetness I love. Best part is that the smell doesn't stay on your hands as intensely as it does at Boiling Crab or Hot N Juicy. The chicken wings are fried just right and come out piping hot. I'm incredibly impressed by this mom and pop. The meal surpassed my expectations. I read some of the bad reviews on here and they're laughable. I think some people come in here expecting to get served seafood plated. This is a place you get your seafood drowned in sauce, put in a bag, and served to you. Your hands are your utensils and you get down and dirty with your food. There's no better way to eat your seafood! read more

The food was good but not great. We basically tried almost everything on the menu and overall the food was good. We had a relatively large party and obviously more difficult to serve us but the service was average at best. I would come back but I hope they try to improve on that. read more

I love this place and have made a lot of efforts to support them especially during COVID. Food is always good and hits the spot. I understand that everything has gone up and they had to raise their prices which is fine. My last order, my food portions were a lot less than it usually was. My crab orders we're 25% less. This is not what i expect when just paid their newly raised prices. Please charge what you need to charge but don't nickel and dime your customers. read more

FIVE STARS. finally got to try this place &loved it!!! the cajun fries came out hot and a really good amount. the shrimp triple XXX was super spicy, which was perfect. the shrimp size was pretty big too (ate a whole pound and was full!) adding corn is always a must. Also, couldn't leave without trying the beignets! the chocolate drizzle on them were delicious! The staff was very attentive and offered the bibs and the options of gloves. This place is finally open! I've been seeing the sign for about a year or so... Went here on Veteran's day, there wasn't many people since they're still on their soft opening, but the inside was nice and clean. I especially liked how there was a sink outside of the bathroom, since there was only one restroom as well. As for the food, it was definitely as good as other places I've been too like Boiling Crab and The Drunken Crab, their special sauce is more comparable to BC, than DC since theirs is a tomato sauce.. The hot seemed to be as hot ass XXX from BC. Garlic butter, very heavy on garlic, I liked that though, so if you're vampire you might want less. Cajun seasoning was a dry rub, opposed to most places having it with the liquid. Lemon Pepper, I couldn't really tell, but I also added a lot of lime. I ordered a pound of shrimp head on, hot, with the ragin special (all the seasonings, dry Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper..) with a corn and 3 potato. I got three potatoes since I thought they would be smaller, but they were pretty big for red potatoes! Rice potion was a bit smaller than other places I went to, but not really a problem. My friend got Cajun medium spice Crab, that was very yummy. Prices were comparable to all the other places I've been to, service was great, our server was personable, I don't remember her name unfortunately, but I think it started with a V. Ordered a pound each of Alaskan crab legs, peeled/deveined shrimp, and clams with garlic noodles for two adults and our 6 & 9 year olds. Plenty of food for us. With drinks and dessert is came to about $88. Skip the gloves and plan to get messy. They have a single hand wash station outside of the bathroom when you're done to clean up. Fresh and hot! This was my first time ordering take-out from Ragin' Crawfish and I was not disappointed. Ordering ahead was easy and picking up was a breeze. They had no-contact pick-up too. They were super friendly when I came in. When I got home, the food was still piping hot, and it was all packaged well for the car ride. Big fan of seafood here, also a big fan of these style of restaurants. It doesn't matter how good the food is or how bad it is if the service sucks! I had to go out to my car to get my own bottle of hot sauce, cause the never came back to ask how things were. There was only one other couple in the whole place so that didn't make sense. I have noticed most place that are not busy have bad service. Now the food, we ordered the peeled shrimp lemon pepper medium. All I can say is pepper expensive cause the lack of Pepper used was alarming. Most places boil there shrimp in a bag with butter and seasoning, some use fake butter cause I get it it's expensive. I think they used water here the food was so bland even the shrimp was mad!! It was my 1st time there and I have to. Say I will not be going back! If your from out of town save your money people, this is not boiling crab!! read more
