Always a class act. Plenty of seasonal options for treats and beverages! I kept it simple and got a black coffee, but for a breakfast snack the avocado toast was 10/10! They have a cool assortment of clothing, usually hats/beanies and shirts/sweaters, as well as bagged coffee. You can see their roaster right next to the counter/ordering area also. Like any coffee shop, they will take a bit longer than your typical Starbucks run but it is well worth the couple extra minutes for the quality you receive. Every person I have interacted with has been knowledgeable and friendly. I imagine their hiring and training process must work well because I have never heard a complaint from any friends that frequent Ragamuffin! Literally no negatives/improvements that I can think of. I had the opportunity to visit Ragamuffin twice during a recent visit to California. I was visiting a friend who lives within walking distance of The Annex and I am so jealous. There is a door that will lead you straight to Ragamuffin, but if you go into any of the other doors of the Annex you will only be a short walk away from it. I wouldn't have expected a food hall coffee shop to be so crafted. From roasting their beans to making their tasty flavor syrups- they do it all in house! Fall in love with their flavor? Of course you can also buy a bag of beans to go so you can brew some of that happiness in a cup in your own home. Bags were $17+. They also have a few apparel merch items available to show your Ragamuffin love around town. They have a few assorted pastries. If I remember correctly, most of them were gluten free? Maybe they were just nut free? Sorry, they were "something-free," just not actually free. I skipped the pastries and got the avocado toast both days. It was fantastic! The first day they really loaded on the avocado too! The second day they weren't as bold with the amount of avocado, but they were a little more generous with the seasonings. Delicious both days! I wanted to try their coffee flight, but I didn't get myself out of bed early enough on my last day to go hang out and sip. I got their seasonal blackberry basil cold brew both days. Woah- I was definitely in heaven. This is when I asked about if they make their syrups in house. It was sweet without being overly sweet. I definitely didn't need any additional sugar and really I didn't even need cream, I just prefer it that way. The coffee and that syrup were tasty enough on their own. They do have a loyalty program that links to your card when you check out. I don't know if whole bean purchases count towards this program, but it is potentially a great offer if they do and you spend $30+ a month here between beans and coffee shop visits. On an early Sunday morning it was slim pickings when choosing where to go get a decent cup of Joe. Ever since Rou-Meli closed, Oxnard has been lacking some decent spots. On the other hand, Ragamufin was a nice little coffee shop, wish we had more like this in the area. Overall the taste was good but, coffee was lukewarm so I didn't really get to enjoy it much. I'll give them another chance when I'm in the area. As far as popularity, this place was busy, long line behind us so I'm thinking it is popular, especially since Stankbucks is just down the street. The espresso was pulled perfectly and the delightful design elements of the to go cup made the experience even more enjoyable. Service was on point...very accommodating and friendly. There are many places that advertise craft coffee, but most are only "craft" in the name. The opposite is true with Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters. These guys are the real deal and are by far the leading local roaster in the area. Not only do they roast their beans in-house, but the quality of beans that they source is of the highest level, which is quickly identified after the first sip of any one of their drinks. The common Starbucks or Coffee Bean customer may not pick up on the subtle notes presented in the different roasts, and may even find the coffee "too different", but that's just because they are not used to high quality coffee that is prepared correctly. The customer service is also just as good as the coffee. The friendly faces of the staff are always encouraging and the owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed. The Mexican mocha coffee gave me a bit of nostalgia. I felt like I was back in my grandmas house drinking abuelita hot chocolate. I wish I would of had a straw to stir everything that ended up at the bottom of my cup so just a note...take a straw with you if you get this drink to go. The pumpkin dream is the best holiday drink I've ever had. It had the perfect hint of pumpkin and it didnt overpower the drink. I want to come back during the time it's offered because I'm still salivating over it. My husband ended up getting the pour over coffee of the day and he told me it was ok. Came here today just before 2pm for the first time and the lady who was at the register seemed like she wanted to get rid of me as fast as possible. There were only two people working standing at the front talking. It would appear that the flavors rotate, however, I'm sure you could preorder if you have a favorite. I have sampled a few different items and all of them have been good. I had just paid for tea and an order of their Avacado toast $17 plus a tip. For what? Two pieces of toast with avocado smashed on top. There was no salt or spices on the toast nothing but a smashed piece of Avacado. Usually there is a little salt or pepper maybe some oil but this was nothing. I mainly go here for the freshly roasted coffee. It's amazing. I love the aroma of the coffee. They put the roasted on date on the bottom of the bag.
