Last night, I came her for a few appetizers and a drink. The place has a nice bar and they were certainly hopping with people inside and outside. I was seated at a table next to the bar. The waiter was very nice and good at checking on all his tables inside and outside. Food came out super quick! Drink: Founder's Vanilla Porter Appetizer 1: Southwest Chicken Egg rolls. Came out super hot and were cut into triangle pieces. Very crispy and crunchy. Came with chipotle dipping sauce. Egg rolls had cheese sauce, chicken, corn, black beans, and spices. Definitely had a nice spicy kick! Appetizer 2: Candied bacon with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. The bacon came out warm and was salty/sweet. It was fun dipping it in the sauces. Wonderful dinner on a busy Thursday night. We were sat instantly inside, I did not ask about the outside wait since we were so hot from our walk over lol. Our waiter was super friendly and just the right amount of attentive. I had the smash burger which was delicious, Josh had a burger as well, they have a nice selection of burgers and sandwiches so I have forgotten which one he got exactly, but we both agreed they were great. Came by for a late lunch at 2:45pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place was still very busy. Good thing we made reservations in advance. Reservations are highly recommended regardless of the time. By 3:30pm, it was less busy. Pro tip: there are only two tables in the front window, try and get those tables if possible. The rest of the place is so noisy that you can barely hold a conversation. The previous time we ate here, we had to move from an indoor table to outside because it was so noisy. One the bring side, the food is outstanding. I ordered the lake perch plate with onion rings (Instead of fries), coleslaw and extra tartar. We also ordered the sweet and spicy cauliflower appetizer. The sweet and spicy cauliflower is absolutely wonderful. Crispy, lightly sweet, and delicious. The lake perch is also wonderful, and I particularly appreciated their homemade tartar sauce. The onion rings are crispy and tasty and the coleslaw is sweet, fresh, and crispy. Just delicious! The only thing holding back from a 5 star review is the noise. The food is fantastic, but each time I've been here it was so noisy that I could barely hear others at the table. I was there in Sunday. I witnessed a waiter being rude to a table of woman and minor child. They were polite quiet and respectful. The waiter came by grabbed something and called say bitches. Then the woman asked for here check the minor child was so upset on how they were treated. Then the manager came to the table basically accused the woman of hitting the waiter which she did not and was screaming at her. We sat right next to there table. All I know we have been going to radius for awhile. All the normal staff wasn't there. This new manager to verbally attack this woman. Accusing her of hitting the waiter which she did not and screaming at her in front of the whole restaurant. We won't ever go back as long as this manager works there We will be sharing this stories to all our friends on every social network. It disgusts our table of 8 that we all witnessed the manager attacking snd verbally abusing woman and with a minor child at the table. Went to Valparaiso for the 44th annual Popcorn Festival. We'd never been before but it was on our Bucket List of State events. If you live in Indiana, it's something you need to do at least once. We stopped in Radius for drinks and a bite to eat. A local told us the Bloody Mary's were good and all the food was great. So we gave it a try. The Bloody Mary's WERE good. They used Zing Zang mix and served it with a slice of bacon. Price was $6. I ordered the Chicago Style Italian Beef for $16. It was a garlic toasted French roll with beef, giadiniera, pepperocinis, mozzarella and a cup of Au Jus. The also serve this as a Keto Option. You get a choice of a side. Cajun fries for me! The beef had great flavor. The Au Jus was perfect ... sometimes it can be too salty and this was not. It was a very hardy lunch. We sat at the bar. Service was great. The bartenders were friendly, informative and helpful. Service was prompt even though it was unbelievably busy due to the festival. read more

Our server made sure all our needs were met and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. The only issue we had was wait time. We did go on a Friday night, so it is expected. Our wait time was supposed to be around 20 minutes and ended up being almost an hour. It is loud inside, but considering there is a bar that is to be expected. This was my first visit to Radius. I tried the sweet and spicy cauliflower and the Orbit sandwich. Both were delicious and left me wondering why I hadn't stopped in previously. The cauliflower was tender and the sweet and spicy coating was flavorful. It looks like they use tri-color cauliflower which has a milder flavor which went well with the ranch dressing. The roast beef on the sandwich was well seasoned and tender. There was a generous serving of meat and the garlic aioli was a great complement to the dish. I'm glad I chose the parmesan broccoli because the sandwich came with a few fries on it! The server was wonderful too. They provided great recommendations, and were kind. Radius has been a Valparaiso staple! It is a fantastic spot to come with friends, family, kids etc! It's amazing! My wife and I came here for lunch recently and it was yummy! I started off with the s'mores whiskey drink which the waiter said was delicious and not super sweet. Knowing me I'm not a super sweet drink guy and asked him to switch it out for a beer and he was understanding and swapped it out with no problem! We then started with the sweet and spicy cauliflower and pretzels and cheese which I do have to admit were both phenomenal!! I recommend everyone get this!!!! Finally our meals came and my wife wasn't super hungry and got the small plate of Baja chicken tacos which had so much flavor to them and filling for her especially being pregnant! I got the smoked brisket melt and the Cajun fries and both were amazing! This was the waiters favorite and I was craving something juicy and flavorful and that's exactly what I got! Ordered the Mac-n-cheese and would say pass as it seems like it was a premade frozen dish. I had bacon added to the top and it didn't make it any more special so I would pass on the Mac. While visiting Valparaiso for a prospective graduate school, one of the graduate admissions counselors recommended Radius. I looked it up on Yelp and was sold on a lunch destination. Radius is downtown Valparaiso in what looks to be an old office building. According to my waitress, she said there has been some renovating going on downtown over the last 10 or so years. Radius is a burger/sandwich bar and does have 2 TVs to catch a game. The Mac and cheese hush puppies spoke to me as an appetizer. Paired with Chipotle ranch and the Mac and cheese hush puppies were a winner. I had such a hard decision to make when it came to my sandwich. Thanks to my waitress who was able to grab me a sample of some key ingredients, I chose the Triple B Burger. This burger came with grilled Jalepeno cream cheese, blueberry bourbon bacon jam, bacon, and tomato. It was topped with an onion ring and I asked for the Asiago Pepper bun instead of the pretzel bun. The burger was decently thick and let the ingredients stand out. The jam and cream cheese made it a worthy burger. The onion ring was better than the fries. The onion ring was beer-battered and may have been made in-house. The fries definitely were not. I had a side of BBQ sauce that had a tangy taste to it. I asked about sweet tea just kidding. The waitress was good with it but I think the manager needs to calm down a bit about not having sweet tea. Just don't ask about sweet tea and by the way, why the North wants to neglect themselves on one of God's gift to humanity is beyond me haha Radius will be a place I visit again if I make my way back to Valparaiso. read more
