I liked both but the fries were way good! My son loved his kids burger and my daughter got the grilled cheese which she said was good as well. The best burger place in the area! The signature Figgy Piggy burger is not to be missed with the sweet potato tots and honey ground mustard sauce on the side. Cute small place downtown in the historic district. Good draft beer selection and the lines seemed well maintained. My jerk chicken sandwich was amazing. The house salad dressing was fresh and very refreshing. My wife had the macaroni entree with chicken. She said it tasted fine but a tiny portion. A small hole in the wall restaurant with some of the best sandwiches we've ever had. Our family of four stopped in to grab dinner, and although had to wait for a table due to it being pretty small inside, the time went fast. The food was excellent! Traveling with my husband for business. Very long car ride and we made it around 5 pm yesterday. Got a quick workout in and he told me I HAD to try this place out. He frequents the area and said it is incredible. It was sooo good. Out of Sauvignon Blanc so went for the Chardonnay. Fried Cheese Burger with tots. Hubby had the fish sandwich with fries. I ordered the chanute burger - medium well done - which consists of 15 crimini mushrooms, pepper jack cheese, bacon, blue cheese sauce, greens, tomato, onion. It was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life, so I'm rating this place 5 of 5 stars. It's worth the trip. There are other selections on the menu if you aren't into burgers - my gf had the sloppy Joe which she loved (it was a bit too sweet for my taste - but I really don't like sweet food so don't trust me on that one) Again, I highly recommend the burgers because the one I had blew me away. I wish I lived around here just to have another. I ordered my burger with a side of buffalo tots. They were really good as well. They also have plenty of beers on tap or in cans - as well wine and cocktails. Chesterton doesn't seem to have much - but this place makes it all worthwhile. Seating isn't plentiful ... so I imagine on a busy night there might be a bit of a wait. We came on a Sunday however, and got seated immediately. Our party of 15 (7 kids) just had an amazing experience at Octave Grill. This restaurant was able to promptly seat our party, take our order and serve delicious food. Our waitress was super patient and made great recommendations. They have a very tasty grass fed burger and were able to accommodate our gluten and dairy allergies. My husband placed the empty hummus platter to the side of the table too quickly. As the waitress came to bus the platter away, I swooped in and grabbed the bowl to smear my last piece of pita around the bowl to ensure not one drop of that delicious hummus was left to waste. The waitress laughed and I was completely unashamed of my greed. Speaking of the waitresses, they were friendly and attentive and gave great service. Really phenomenal and unique burgers -- I had the figgy piggy and it was delicious. Definitely rich, which makes sense with the goat cheese, but so so good. My husband had the southern fried chicken sandwich and loved it. The fried pickles were pretty good -- although I prefer slightly more pickle than breading. Great little place think a lot of locals which always means good food. The tots appetizer delicious ate so many was hard to eat our dinner and took the remaining home for later. Had the burger of the day and the figgy burger. Great quality of beef, all the toppings are fresh and great flavor. The topping pairings are spot on, fig jam was sweet but the goat cheese balanced it out. Will be back next time in town. We stopped at the Octave Grill on our trip home from Michigan to Indiana and wow, small place but wonderful! Great service, real hometown feel and my Impossible hamburger was excellent as were the taco tots and French fries. Linda was our server and she did a great job. You sit close enough to other tables to strike up a conversation but not so close that you feel you must talk to your neighbor. My husband had the Linda salad and the blue cheese crumbles and candied nuts were the highlight on that salad. We will definitely be back as we pass by this area often. A MUST in Chesterton!! We picked up some burgers, tots and fries and HOLY MOLY, yall! One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The restaurant has such a cool, cozy vibe and the servers were friendly. We had a beer while we waited for our burgers, which did not take long at all. Highly recommend trying something different on your burger! I am sure their plain jane burgers are delicious too - but with all the variety they have you'd be crazy not to try something fun! The figgy piggy was incredible - a little on the sweeter side and absolutely packed with flavor! We requested it on a pretzel bun and it was incredible.
