The interior of Chomp is fun with graffiti like murals on the walls and a small amount of seating. Order at the counter, and they brought food out to us. There was a lot of carryout going on also. The sandwiches were good. It wasn't blowing my mind or anything but it was all good enough I would go back and try other varieties. The tots were crispy and actually well seasoned so that was awesome. And the lemonades were tasty too. The FOOD was amazing. Our family of 6 went today, I had the Hot Philly. So GOOD. I also tried all of my families food... the OG philly, Italian sub, chicken sandwich, cheeseburger, fries. I'm a Chicagoan, and we PRIDE ourselves on the proximity and access we have to GREAT food. I was in town for an event in downtown Chesterton and wanted something quick to eat before heading back home. Chomp came up in my search and I took a chance. And I'm so glad I did! The young lady at the register was firm, direct and patient with me as I had questions about the Philly versus Original Philly. All in a good way, I felt like she was coaching my through my decision. She was attentive unlike some cashiers at restaurants these days. I ended up getting the Original (peppers, caramelized onions, provolone) and when I tell you it was DELICIOUS! Seasoning, quantity, quality of ingredients and smooshed up and gooey just like a Philly should be. I wish I had taken a photo and I promise I almost circled back to tip my hat to the cook (and order another one for the next day). The inside of the restaurant is cutesy, purposely vintage and really colorful. All in all 10/10 for my visit to Chomp. I know the next time I'm in town, I will make a stop! read more

The New Yorker was very good, and I love rye bread. Their chips were ok, but loved the BBQ chips they served this summer. They changed. The chips were different. OMG! I never start a review with that but Chomp is deserving of this exclaimation. My first time ordering from Chomp was something I wish I had done a while ago. First impression walking in was the dining area was clean and tastefully decorated. You can tell there's a community conection with the items around the store displaying local school and other Chesterton items. The cashier was very pleasant and answered all questions. NOW THE FOOD....OMG! I ordered the Big New Yorker. Corned beef, pastrami and melted cheese on marbled rye bread. OMG! It comes with chips and pickle, it was delicious!!! My wife opted for the patty melt, a full 1/2 pound burger with carmelised onions and cheese. Also comes with chips. A nice aspect here is you, via the large ordering window, are able to see your food being cooked no walls between the kitchen and the public. OMG! She loved the burger and the marbled rye as well. We both opted for the tots instead of chips or fries, good choice. The tots were crispy, hot and delish. I am looking forward to sampling more of the menu as this may have been my first visit but it will not be my last. Oh and I must tell you that they also gave me a veterans discount which made the entire experience even more pleasant. Go to Chomp and you too will be saying OMG1 read more

First time there. These sandwiches are insane! I got the chicken ceasars this thing is gigantic. The bread, what did they do to the bread?! It's fantastic and they grill it with some parmesean maybe too giving it a like a tuile texture. Nom nom nom. The fries are crispy on the outside, squishy on the inside and perfectly seasoned. It has a great youthful fun vibe inside with plenty of seating. I ordered carryout at the counter and it was done fast! This place has the intense flavor that highly-regarded chains lack, at a price that was reasonable by 2025 standards. I got the Hot Philly and it was a perfect blend of hot and savory and decadent. The large was a *very* substantial sandwich. Tots were fresh and perfectly crunchy too - WAY better than your regular bag of chips at the other places. Their food is good and the portions are very reasonable. If you have not been to Chomp yet, I recommend giving Chomp a try. I have ordered from Chomp about five times as of the date of this review. Account of todays visit though my review is only four stars instead of five account chef over-grilled the bread on my Ruben sandwich, it was hard and dry and tore up the roof of my mouth, now a bit sore and can feel the skin hanging . Come on chef you can do better!, (do not grill the bread until it's hard and dry). I should not have to, but guess in the future I will have to stress "lightly grilled" when ordering. Overpriced with a small dining room with chairs that are awful and uncomfortable. They charge a fee for cards as if they are still in the food truck at a festival. They don't listen and gave me condiments on my cheeseburger that I asked to not have. They even repeated it back, but put them on it anyways. Then, the cheeseburger was swallowed by the bun. The most irritating part was they refused to give us a straw and lid for our drinks, so we couldn't even take them to go when we left. They said they don't have any, yet they gave other people after us. Guess we weren't privileged enough to get them. I even thought maybe they were just running low and they weren't giving them out to the dining room, but some got them and some didn't! I just won't go back. Service was absolutely horrible I wasn't going to leave a review cause the owner said he would take care of it but it has been several weeks now and all they do is avoid the calls, The food was good the Philly was worth it but we was also supposed to get 3 loaded tots, and didn't receive any. We did get a chili cheese tot and it was good but the whole generous portion claim is an absolute lie they give you a little container for $10 absolute rip off, so we paid $30 for loaded tots and got zero and never got any refund. We was told multiple times by owner named Mike that he would take care of it to just give him a couple of days but to date that has never happened and we just got the run around so if you expect honest service with good food you will be highly disappointed read more
