Spectacular. From the first bite, you can tell they use quality ingredients, not just what a distributor pushes their way. The building is well remodeled with a red brick veneer wall, nice furnishings, great lighting, and an outdoor seating area. The staff was very courteous and attentive, even when the Friday rush arrived as we were finishing our meal. Our server was well versed on the meals, their ingredients, prep, and provided helpful recommendations. Our appetizer was the meatballs. Made on site, the meat was flavorful but lean. The sauce made my wife go "wow," and the cheese was fresh and delicious. The appetizer arrived well before the meal, so we could enjoy it without being rushed. My wife ordered a Detroit pizza while I ordered the Johnny Boy sandwich. The waitress immediately asked and recommended ricotta cheese for the pizza, an excellent recommendation. The pizza arrived, well more than 1 person could eat, with a perfect buttery deep pan crust, a great sause, and again cheeses that were definately not from a distributor as they were fresh and with a complex flavor profile not found in something from a restaurant distributor. My Johnny Boy sandwich had thinly sliced meats cooked perfectly. The peppers were also cooked perfectly with a fully cooked flavor in a pepper slice that still was firm without being crunchy. The bread was so distinctive I shared a tear off with my wife, again something deliberately chosen by the chef for its quality. The fries were comparable to those from 5 Guys without being excessively oily. The waitress said the restaurant has been in this location for 4 years, unfortunately we just found it today. A fantastic addition to the Valparaiso food

Came into this place as a backup plan, but was not disappointed. The cheesy bread was warm with lots of garlic. The penne w/ vodka sauce and the shrimp Alfredo were both very creamy and fresh tasting. The shrimp were big and had a good seasoning on them. The bow tie noodles in the alfredo were an awesome change as-well. The service was fast and the restaurant was clean. I will be coming back to try the pizza eventually. Only gets a 4/5 because the price to portion size is very small. Paid 19.50 for the Alfredo

Everyone brags about this place, but we were hardly impressed. We ordered 2 salads which were good (just typical salad). I ordered the rubbed wings. They came out looking amazing. Uh, no! They had absolutely no flavor. He got pizza and said he'd had better out of a box which is what his tastes like. The beer prices were too high in comparison to other restaurants in our area. The wait staff acted like they were annoyed we were there and then acted as if they did us a favor serving us. Just not friendly. They still got a good tip but didn't deserve it. After waiting for them to open, and then giving them time to get in a good flow, we were sadly disappointed. We won't be back. Much better food, drinks, & staff anywhere else in Valpo.

So delicious like always. The service was amazing not rushed not slow just right. Today was an odd day Christmas music playing but it was still a peaceful setting.

I came here last night with my family and had a great experience. First the place is really clean and thats really important to me. We had garlic knots as an appetizer and they came out quick and were delicious. We had the 20 inch pizza as our main course and the pizza was to die for. If you enjoy a great crust then this is a pizza you need to try. It was raining last night so we didnt get to try the patio area. This place is well worth checking out.

It was amazing! We got the fried feta for an appetizer and it was so good! The place was clean, the server was super nice and it's just a nice little place to pop in, dot and have great food! Definitely will be back! The pizza shown is their SMALLEST, so it's an awesome deal!

I was hungry and this spot seemed to draw me in. I was hoping for some good food at the minimum…read more My significant other and I walked inside. I looked at the menu on the wall and then we proceeded to the counter underneath the Order sign. From the Pizzas section, we got a 12" Medium Cheese for $12.50. From the Apps section, they had Shoe Bites (garlic or cinnamon) for $4.99 and we chose garlic. From the same section, we got Onion Rings for $4.99. I ordered a diet pepsi for $2.89. We got to choose our table, so that was convenient. They started to bring out our order fairly fast. The diet pepsi was smooth and so was the free refill. The Onion Rings were crispy and full of flavor. I loved them. The Shoe Bites had a nice flow of garlic everywhere. I liked them. The 12" Medium Cheese came to the table looking fabulous. I was excited to grab a slice. The sauce and the cheese played together nicely. I was a fan of this pizza. The service was friendly and fast throughout my visit. I was impressed by that. Overall, this spot gave me some awesome food for some good prices. I would like to go back someday. Date of visit: 12/13/24

Ordered a simple meal of 10 wings to go tonight. Specifically asked for them to be made crispy…read more The person taking the order read it back to me and confirmed extra crispy. These wings are the furthest thing from crispy I've ever seen. Super soft and soggy skin. I had to broil them in the air fryer to get them somewhat enjoyable. Took a shot on them for their wings and won't be doing that again.

Don't order just the cheese pizza here and maybe avoid the thin crust? It just seems a little…read moreovercooked. Pretzel bites are covered in a weird butter with garlic. Wasn't too into that. That being said, the pizzas with more toppings with a thicker cross seem to be really good. It's not the best pizza in the world, but really decent and the staff is always super friendly. Even on packed nights, they only have a couple servers, but the servers are fast. They really know how to hustle. It's pretty crowded in there on some nights places set up decently has a little stage in front in case they want to have a band. I like going there on Friday nights for karaoke. Just a heads up the place is super packed on a Friday evening, karaoke starts at seven and ends at 11. Everybody in their brother comes there for that to sing or just to sit and listen to other sing. The nice thing is is that since it is at a pizza place and it starts at seven anyone can sing, including children. The cutest youngest little girl I have seen sing did the K-pop demon hunters one of the songs from Matt and she was so adorable! Other kids have gotten up there and wow! They've blown me away with their voices and I feel funny going up there after them. There is a range of singers from new people that aren't the best at singing, but they love to sing and that's great! It takes a lot of courage to go up there. Everyone is super supportive and claps because like I said it's really hard to even go up there to even sing so the courage is really appreciated. It's such a friendly place and the owner is really nice and typically is working there too.

This place is totally laid back during the day. We have gone here for lunch several times. We have…read moregotten pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, mushrooms, and more. Gelsosomo's Pizzeria - This is what's left of the extra large, seven cheese, pizza and sausage. I'll be taking it home. Yummy!

The only thing I wished was if the pepperoni slices were a bit thicker because it was paper thin like. We also shared a combo basket appetizer which you can choose 3 kinds of items. We chose the fried zucchini sticks (my favorite), fried mushrooms, and jalapeño poppers (cream cheese). It came with 2 tubs of ranch dressing. Definitely good pizzeria. Dining was clean and the menus were sanitized. Bathrooms were very clean too. And the service was fantastic.

I had driven my Gelsosomo's several times in Valparaiso. I had noticed the sign for lunch buffet…read moreseveral times and told myself I had to give it a try. What I saw was I felt like one of the saddest looking buffets I've ever seen. The buffet was 2 tables pushed together, a bowl of salad, a basket of breadsticks, individual marinara sauces, and 2 or 3 very large pizzas under a heat lamp. The presentation may not have been great but it turned out to be better than it looked. The ranch for the salad seemed to be made in house. When the pizza was freshly put on the buffet, the pizza was great. If it had been sitting under the heat lamp, it was not desirable as it was hard to chew. The price was ok for $12 with a water. I scratched that itch. I would order a pizza next time from Gelsosomo's instead of doing a buffet.

Gelsosomo's Pizzeria - 17.50$ for 10 "Large" boneless wings. Like seriously! They're smaller than chicken nuggets at McDonald's. Wtf!!!
