New Haven Tomato Pie and Cheese Pie

Not sure what the lower reviews are all about here, we had a great experience. Now when it comes to pizza being called, "New Haven", it's close -- but it's not New Haven. The plain pizza had a much better leoparding to the bottom than the tomato pie did, but the there's not enough char on top, so the pizza has flop to it. The pizza is a lot more like a Neopolitan, especially because the pies are smaller here than typical New Haven pies. Flavors are great however, don't get me wrong. Just not New Haven. It's like calling yourself a "Philadelphia-style" cheesesteak place or something similar. The expectations are much different. Would definitely come back and ask for the pizzas well-done and give it another go. Meatballs and sauce were fantastic.

Been a little bit since our last time at Lenny's, and it's just as good if not better than our first time there. Their weekday happy hour deals are epic too. You gotta go, specifically start the night between 4-5 and then just enjoy a pizza to round off dinner!

Cool retro vibe. Friendly fast service. Good pizza, salads, pasta and cheesy garlic bread. My wife and I shared the chicken pesto pizza on the waitress' recommendation. Solid choice! Our kids enjoyed the chicken Alfredo pasta.

First time here at Lenny's coal fired pizza. Very good service and food! The inside of the restaurant is fairly small with a seating area and bar. The bar has stools and full service wine and beer. Would definitely bring the kids back to try this as they like the coal fire pizzas!

Ordered an all meat pizza and they put 4 tiny pepperoni's on most slices and one had 3. How is that all meat?

Genuine coal fired pizza. Outstanding service and a pizza joint decor. Definitely worth a visit.

While not my kind of pie, it was well done for what it is and didn't disappoint.

A whole lotta greens, straight to the dome. I got the Kale Kraze Salad (quinoa, almonds,…read morecranberries, avocado and kale marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper). The salad came with a lemon garlic dressing on the side, which I didn't pour over the salad, but instead dipped forkfuls lightly into the cup. The salad was huge! There was no way I could finish it, and I didn't. But it was satisfying and made my body feel oh-so good, the way that a body feels good when eating whole foods. Roots Market Cafe has a lot of nourishing options here. I had a hard time choosing what to get, because they have so many tasty-sounding options. Most (all?) of the menu is either vegetarian or vegan, and they offer salads, wraps, smoothies, juices, and a selection of baked goods. This place is also a little market! You can find fresh produce here -- I saw sweet potatoes, broccoli, zucchini, ginger root, bananas, pineapple, berries and other things. They also sell alternative milks, mushroom coffee, organic eggs, kimchi, vegan snacks, and things I have never seen, like vegan marshmallows and vegan marshmallow cream. Who knew that existed? I got my salad to go, but they have a dining room where you can sit and stay a while. The dining room is separate from the market and ordering counter, and is located in an entirely different room.

The hummus was extremely watery--more like a soup consistency than the thick, creamy hummus I expected. It made it difficult to enjoy with the vegetables or chips. Speaking of the platter, for something labeled "party size," there were surprisingly very few vegetables included. Instead, it came with a large amount of chips. I was also expecting multigrain chips based on the photo but they were just plain tortilla chips, which wasn't what I had in mind. The Good Mojo juice itself tasted good, although it was served warm rather than chilled. Overall, for the amount I spent, I had much higher hopes for the quality and portion balance of what I was getting. It just didn't feel like the value matched the price.
