Old World Market will satisfy the indulgent, bougie food lover in you -- the food lover who likes pretty charcuterie boards made from thinly sliced prosciutto shaped into flowers. And it will indulge the wine lover in you -- the one who likes a good glass of wine. It's a small store. Surprisingly small, actually! But along with wine and meats and cheeses, you'll find specialty food items like Swedish Pippi Longstocking candy (what?), pasta in all shapes and sizes, cookies, teas, oils and lots of imported goodies. You'll mostly find food imported from Europe: Italy and Nordic countries, specifically. That's just a game they play with us. That makes people think their overall prices are good. They'll run a few good deals to get you into the store and then they hose you on the rest of the items. Remember, you have to bag your own groceries too. They have little price signs everywhere, "supposedly" showing the regular price, versus the "new" price. Are you kidding me? Did you ever look at those tags? Then they show "their" price on the tag. They have raised prices dramatically, since the new company took over. They're making a complete fool of you, if you think they haven't raised them. They're fooling you BIG TIME. Here's a perfect example. They hung a sign from the ceiling in the meat department that said: "Lower prices on thousands of items. Ground beef $7.18 for a pound.....a POUND! Does that sound like a "low" price to you? Plus, it comes in a tube. You have no idea what you're getting, because you can't see the meat. Here's another one. Chuck roast for $9.98 a pound. Does sound like a "bargain" to you? I could go on and on, how they're playing games with us customers. But you're getting railroaded folks. They put in a new floor, dressed some things up and shoppers think they're getting a great deal. Some of you really need to wake up. But that's ok, keep shopping there and fritter your money away. It's only "money," right? SMH.

After sitting down, I had to use the restroom. BIG mistake. There was feces all over the bathroom floor, on the sink area, and even on the door handle. This wasn't just a small mess--it was a significant amount of solid feces throughout the bathroom. When I returned to my table, I noticed that feces had also gotten onto the rug near the front/register area, where I was sitting. I immediately informed my waitress, who then notified the front desk. Eventually, someone came to clean it up. At that point, I had completely lost my appetite. After an experience like that, you would think management would come over, apologize, and offer to refund the meal since I was no longer able to eat. Instead, I was simply given a senior discount. That was extremely disappointing. I will say that my waitress was very kind and showed genuine empathy. She brought me a warm, soapy towel so I could clean my hands and even clean the bottom of my shoe. I truly appreciated her compassion because she was the only person who seemed to understand how upsetting the situation was. What disappointed me most was that the manager never came over to apologize or even acknowledge what had happened. I understand that accidents happen, but the way a restaurant handles an extremely unsanitary situation says a lot about its customer service. Unfortunately, this experience completely ruined my appetite and my visit. I came because of the good reviews, but after this experience, I would think twice about returning.
