My wife and I joined a bunch of our friends on a foodie trip to Seattle. We chose this place because of the Mini Beast Feast which includes a smoked pig head and all of the fixings. You currently have to order this ahead of time and pay a down payment of $200. This was amazing and so much fun. I wish there were more fried pig ears because they were to die for. The smoked pig head was full of all kinds of tasty meats. Unfortunately the skin was too hard to eat. The feast also came with a salad, Brussel Sprouts, Potatoes, and pork ribs. It easily fed our group of 7. They also have an amazing whiskey selection. I enjoyed a nice Smoked Maple Old Fashioned and my wife loved her Blantons barrel selection neat. I wanna say this is a hidden gem but I'm sure it's not so hidden, but it's also not so obvious at the same time. It's in the 2nd floor (if I remember correctly) of a building right by the entrance of Pike Place Market. The servers are super nice, attentive, and helpful. I'm not really into alcohol but you don't need to be in order to appreciate this place. The burrata salad is so unassuming but it's both light and flavorful at the same time. It's the perfect starter to a somewhat heavy meal. The shrimp and grits wrist was just divine. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The grits were equally flavorful. The chicken was really crispy but I think the batter needed more flavor. It was on the drier side that even the chicken thighs (which is my fave part) was a little unappealing to me. The burnt ends were phenomenal. Me and my fiancé stopped here mostly for a drink or two after enjoying a day downtown. After smelling that smell of smokiness we decided to look at the menu. We opted to split the burnt ends. It was a nice amount, cooked perfectly and hit the spot. It went really well with the Old Fashioneds we were drinking. Basically perfection here folks. The hubs and I are visiting from Denver and we (the hubs) were compelled by the whiskey menu. First and foremost, our server, Christa, was incredible. Super fun and engaging, she was the cherry on top of incredible food and drinks. I ordered the veggie gnocchi and the hubs went with the fried chicken. First, the gnocchi. Perfectly seasoned with fresh veggies and goat cheese. I would order this dish anytime and regularly. The fried chicken was smoked just lightly and not overpowered by the smoke. Then the fried chicken piece was crispy skin and super tender meat paired with the most incredible Mac and cheese and cornbread that wasn't dry at all. The cornbread was almost cake like it was so (m word) and paired with butter, was over the top. The whisky selection was top notch and the attention to detail was incredible with the dropper bottle of water. I ordered the brownstone cocktail times two which was perfectly crafted. First of all, it's a dive bar scene but the atmosphere and inside seating was great and beautiful views by the windows. Service was great! Our waitress was on top of her game and recommended every dish we ended up ordering and liking. Try their watermelon burrata salad, you will not ve disappointed. Seems simple but it's delicious! What a great place to be when all the business from pike place closes in the PM. I asked the host fir recommendations and she highly suggested the braised beef brisket. It looked delicious too when the plate passed us for another table. This dish comes with their homemade gnocchi which is divine. Probably one of the best I've ever had. Soft center dusted with cracked pepper flavor on the outside. Love that extra subtle crunch. This dish came with savory herbs glazed with some type of vinaigrette. Perfect to cut the meatiness of the brisket along with the demi-glaze horseradish cream. We also ordered the fried pork shank. The first bite into the shank was a delicious combo of salty and spicy while refreshing along with a hint of sweetness. It was fireworks going off, wow. The smoked zucchini and other market vegetable was great with this dish. The herb aioli pickled goat horn peppers was probably the best part of the whole dish. This sauce made the whole dish come together like a marriage- a little sassy, a little heat and a little sweetness at the end. We couldn't possibly eat here with out getting a whisky drink. We got the Rare Finds flight which was quite adventurous. This came with 3 glencairn samplers. The best was the 1970's Old crow Kentucky bourbon. 1980's IW Harper 12 year bourbon was ok and 1960's J.W. Dant 7 year bourbon can stay in the 1960's but what do I know, I'm no whisky connoisseur. All in all, a fun flight to sip on with all the meat heaven. We also got the Smoked Maple Old fashion wich was good here because they make it with rye instead of burbon. If you like it Smokey, this is the one for you. Next time definitely trying out the ones on tap from the big barrels at the bar when you first come in. This was a great experience from great food, warm whiskies in the belly and an energetic host/server. Not to mention, we were seated in our own section with crates dividing us from the next table. So I figured at a whiskey bar the food would be second to the drinks; I was wrong, and happy to be wrong. The drinks were really good, but the food was phenomenal. I came in with a big party and we split just about every appetizer on the menu. Bone marrow, tots, and the cornbread were all major highlights, but everything was good. Every time something new came out to the table, watching everyone's face light up as they tried it was too fun. I don't think there was a single thing that we didn't like. I had the iceberg wedge as well and everyone enjoyed their entrees, and topping it all off with cookies and whiskey as a dessert was both charming and delicious. The table side smores kit was a big hit too, because who wouldn't want to make their own smores in a whiskey bar? I wish I had taken more photos, because this dinner was truly an event! Overall this restaurant was a super fun experience and the food and drinks were fantastic. With a huge party, the service was also great and the waiters and bartenders were all so kind and just as fun as the place itself. Beverages Menu had a wide , lovely selection to choose from. It blew our mind to have rare whiskeys offered. Dinner portions were generous. We ended ordering burrata salad to start. The burrata was fresh and creamy. Arugula was limp and tomato was tired and tasteless. It seem to lack vibrancy that vibes with a great salad. 2 1/2 stars. The smoked fried chicken entree is what we ate and it was crazy moist on the inside with a beautiful, tasty crunch! The fried pork shank, while tender, lacked balance. The collared greens were overly salty, highlighting the need for some form of carbs, like bread or potatoes, to counterbalance the dish's fattiness and saltiness. I see in the pictures that this was served with some form of pasta in the past, not sure what changed. We didn't try a drink here but will plan on doing so next time. This place rocks, though it is hard to find. Basic instructions is to find the "Adult Entertainment" location then directly across the street from that is a small pathway that leads to an elevator, take that. Once my wife and I found it I was an amazing experience from the get go. It's not the biggest restaurant so I would definitely recommend reservations. Since Bourbon is my favorite alcohol I got and Old Fashioned with one of their whiskeys of the day called Redemption. This was amazing and I ordered a second when I am typically a one drink per meal person. For food we started with the Burnt Ends, because if Burnt Ends are on a menu we are ordering them. This version was perfect to share with good portion bites of each. It came with a mustard bbq sauce on top and some slaw. I've never had a mustard sauce with them before but it brought a good bite that works well against the fat of the meat. My wife doesn't typically like mustard so she went with the pieces that had less on it and said it's one of the best mustard sauces she's had. For main courses I went with the brisket which came with cooked onions, a small arugula salad and a horseradish sauce. The brisket was tender and flavorful. I'm not sure I would have given the dish "5 stars" if it wasn't for the horseradish sauce because I put that on everything and loved it. If I was to come back I would try something else but definitely would order it again. My wife got the smoked fried chicken which came with two large pieces, mac and cheese and cornbread. I got to try everything of hers and again loved it all. We actually make homemade mac and cheese at home so this one was just alright but the chicken was unlike anything we've had before. The smoke was an added layer of flavor that was complimentary to the dish. The "vibe" of a restaurant is not something I typically mention in a review but Radiator's deserves a mention. The music was a great alt rock playlist which vibed with the city and the food. The hostess and our waitress were awesome and we actually had the manager come over at the end of the meal we were having such a good time and the ladies helping us were so friendly we wanted to give them a compliment. I didn't plan on getting dessert, maybe it was the bourbon or our cool waitress but she talked me into it so I got the Bourbon Bread Pudding. You had me at bourbon. The "pudding" seemed more fried then steamed which gave the crust a crunchy texture and fatty flavor that was addicting. My wife tried a bite but I devoured the rest myself. Topped with caramel and whipped cream it was a great end to the meal. We loved the place so much my wife suggested we could cancel reservations to dinner at a different spot we had the next day to come back but unfortunately it was their off days the rest of our trip so this was only time we came. We ordered two smoked maple old fashioned, braised brisket entree, and cornbread. The braised brisket came with a side of arugula vinaigrette salad and gnocchi. SO GOOD! The brisket was so tender and the fat just melted in your mouth. The cornbread was actually jalapeño cornbread, and had the perfect crisp to the outer edges. The au jus the brisket came in was so bomb... could literally bathe in it haha. The kitchen even made more for us when we requested for an additional side of it! This whiskey bar was one of our highlights of our trip to Seattle. Yelp helped us locate this hidden gem. Located in the Pike Place Market area, this is tucked on the 3rd floor of one of the buildings that comprises the public market that is overran with tourists. But we only saw locals. I believe because Radiator is not well marked, this keeps only the whisky faithful as patrons. We ordered flights of whisky's off the reserve menu. Many (+- 50) aged whisky's 10 years or more. Pappys, whistle pig, michters, Kentucky Owl, you get it. Our server was a spunky appreciator. She was knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. In town visiting and ate here for HH with a friend. Our waitress was Christa and the bartender was Chase. I ordered The Ramblin Man drink, but it wasn't sweet enough for me. So Christa asked what I liked and Chase whipped something up for me. I didn't like that either, so he whipped up something again, and 3rd time was the charm! It so sweet of them to do that for me, I was not expecting that At All. My friend and I both got the pulled pork sandwich. It was really tasty. I ordered the cornbread side, it was okay, I didn't eat it all and didn't take any to go. As visitors this place was really hard to find. We just happened to walk in and noticed signs on the first floor for the restaurant, but still couldn't find it. So we took the elevator upstairs, and just by walking around found it. So I would say it would've been easier if the signs posted on the 1st floor would've said "Radiator Whiskey 2nd floor" Because there isn't a sign on the building outside facing the street either. Came to Radiator Whiskey because 1. It had great reviews on Yelp 2. It was close-ish to our hotel 3. A friend recommended it. I think all the great reviews are just for their extensive library whiskey because the food was just meh. My fiancé and I came in on a Monday at around 5:30 so that we could make it in time for the happy hour from 4 to 6. The place is pretty tiny but luckily, we grabbed the last two available seats. It's a bit difficult to find. We thought it was inside the Public Market, but it's actually across the street from the market on the second floor. We decided to start the night off with one of their happy hour specials - a $7 shot of Four Roses and Britt's Pickle back. I didn't care for the pickle juice - it had a weird funk to it. For food during happy hour, there was $2 off "starters", so we ordered the Cornflake Crusted Chicken Livers (franks buffalo sauce, shaved celery blue cheese custard), and the Sticky Smoked Pork Belly (sweet & spicy sauce, assorted pickled veg). First bites were good, but as we ate a bit more, we noticed it was incredibly salty. They are SUPER generous with the portions though. These "starters" were more like entrees. I've never ate so much liver in my life. This is all we ordered and we were stuffed and struggling to finish. Our bellies were too full to try any of their whiskeys, which I regret 1000%. This place is the bomb! We started with the Burrata salad which was super refreshing and delicious! Service was very quick and efficient. Christa was our waitress and she definitely deserves praises since she was very happy to help use whenever we needed. The shrimp and grits are heavenly. The fried chicken entree was the only thing that wasn't a total knock out. This is coming from a fried chicken connoisseur. It is definitely not bad chicken by any means but just wasn't as good as the rest of the meal. It's a 8.5 out of 10 where's everything else is a knock out 10. This was one of the places I planned to visit because of the reviews. It was pretty packed when my friend and I went in, but we were seated pretty swiftly at the bar and our orders were taken fast, and came fast. Great service for how packed it was. Everything I brought here was worth their price, but the bone marrow definitely stood out from the rest. Bone Marrow 5/5: This was absolutely amazing. If I were to come back to Seattle, this would be one of the first restaurants I would eat at again. I basically grabbed the crostini and spooned some of the bone marrow onto it, and that combo was perfect. I was not expecting so much flavor to hit me, and I ate this before I drank, just to clarify. Old Fashioned: A great smooth old-fashioned that fit the food quite well! I'm not an expert on drinks, but as someone who drank every day during Seattle, I found it to be one of the best drinks there! Loaded Tots 4.5/5: Great appetizer to match the quality of the bone marrow.
