Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I went over to Valvoline on Apple but they were backed up with 4 car so I drove to the one on…read moreBroadway. There was no line. They did such a great job on my car. They were quick, efficient, and friendly staff. I had concerns about my filter hose so they checked it to make sure it was connected. It was a little spendy but thankfully I had a $20 off coupon for the service. Overall it was great service! I'll definitely be back!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Valvoline. After an oil change, I discovered an…read moreissue with my vehicle that ultimately led to damage to my car. What has made this experience even more frustrating is the constantly changing explanation I received from the staff. When I initially brought my vehicle in, I was never informed of any scratches, dents, or damage to the drain pan. Later, after returning to have the issue looked at again, I was suddenly told that my drain pan was scratched and dented. If that damage was supposedly there when I first came in, why was I never told about it? At that point, because the explanations weren't adding up, I filed a claim through Valvoline and returned to speak with the manager. The manager repeatedly suggested that I must have hit something. I know my own vehicle and would certainly know if I had hit an object. Eventually, he told me there was nothing he could do unless I took the vehicle to a mechanic. I took it to Larry H. Miller, where they inspected the vehicle and determined that the damage was consistent with a previous oil change. I brought all of the documentation back to Valvoline and showed it to the manager. He spent some time on the phone with his manager, only to come back and tell me that they supposedly didn't have enough evidence to do anything. What made this even more frustrating was that the manager later told me that Valvoline had done everything correctly. I pointed out that the drain plug had been reinstalled cracked, and he told me that wasn't what happened and that it was actually my drain pan that was cracked. I later found out that statement was not accurate either. At no point did I feel like anyone was genuinely taking responsibility or trying to make this right. The manager offered no compensation or meaningful resolution. Instead, he repeatedly apologized and told me that this was a "training opportunity" for him as a manager. While I understand that mistakes can be learning experiences, that does nothing to address the fact that my vehicle was damaged and I was left to deal with the consequences. I gave Valvoline multiple opportunities to investigate this situation and provided documentation from another automotive shop, yet I was ultimately left with no resolution. The inconsistent explanations, lack of accountability, and complete lack of customer support throughout this process have left me extremely disappointed. I will not be returning to Valvoline, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering using them think twice and thoroughly inspect their vehicle before leaving.

I do not recommend this location of Jiffy Lube. I visited it on 12/21/21 for an oil change. I had a…read moremoment of hesitation when I drove up because it didn't look like there were any other vehicles they were working on, which seemed unusual. I should have listened to my gut. I have visited other locations of Jiffy Lube in the past and never had a problem. My experience at this location felt "off." First, I was in and out way too fast. The employee was not able to answer my questions re: the difference between the $49.99 versus $89.89 oil change satisfactorily. He simply said that the more expensive option was because it utilized synthetic oil. All engine oil is synthetic. When he rang me up, he did not review what was done and struggled to answer whether or not my oil level was low upon arriving. I asked another employee if he had ensured my tires were properly inflated. He didn't know what the manufacturer's recommendation for tire air pressure was or where to find that information. I drove home and immediately popped the hood. My oil was significantly overfilled, which can cause engine damage. None of my fluids had been checked and/or filled. My windshield wiper fluid was very low. My coolant was dangerously low. My brake fluid was low. There was oil spilled on my engine. I ended up having to take my vehicle to a real car mechanic to remove some of the oil, clean the oil off the engine, as well as fill the other fluids. I don't know who owns and operates this location but they need to be much more actively involved in overseen the services being provided. 1/6/22 Update: I posted my review the evening of 1/4/22. By early the next morning, I received a response from John Scholl, who is the new owner of this business. He expressed concern about my experience and asked that I email him my contact information so he could call me and get more information. Within a couple of hours of responding, he called me. Although I did not request a refund, he promptly told me that he was going to issue me one. He listened to and acknowledged my concerns. The next morning, he went to this Jiffy Lube location to address my concerns. Although I initially gave this business a 1 star review, I am changing it to a 3 star review based on my 5 star experience regarding the owner's responsiveness and sincere efforts to remedy the issues of concern. Given John Scholl's years of experience, leadership and management style, I have every confidence that he will provide his employees with the training and supervision necessary to ensure future customers receive the high quality level of service Jiffy Lube is known for. Thank you, John!
