I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Valvoline. After an oil change, I discovered an…read moreissue with my vehicle that ultimately led to damage to my car. What has made this experience even more frustrating is the constantly changing explanation I received from the staff. When I initially brought my vehicle in, I was never informed of any scratches, dents, or damage to the drain pan. Later, after returning to have the issue looked at again, I was suddenly told that my drain pan was scratched and dented. If that damage was supposedly there when I first came in, why was I never told about it? At that point, because the explanations weren't adding up, I filed a claim through Valvoline and returned to speak with the manager. The manager repeatedly suggested that I must have hit something. I know my own vehicle and would certainly know if I had hit an object. Eventually, he told me there was nothing he could do unless I took the vehicle to a mechanic. I took it to Larry H. Miller, where they inspected the vehicle and determined that the damage was consistent with a previous oil change. I brought all of the documentation back to Valvoline and showed it to the manager. He spent some time on the phone with his manager, only to come back and tell me that they supposedly didn't have enough evidence to do anything. What made this even more frustrating was that the manager later told me that Valvoline had done everything correctly. I pointed out that the drain plug had been reinstalled cracked, and he told me that wasn't what happened and that it was actually my drain pan that was cracked. I later found out that statement was not accurate either. At no point did I feel like anyone was genuinely taking responsibility or trying to make this right. The manager offered no compensation or meaningful resolution. Instead, he repeatedly apologized and told me that this was a "training opportunity" for him as a manager. While I understand that mistakes can be learning experiences, that does nothing to address the fact that my vehicle was damaged and I was left to deal with the consequences. I gave Valvoline multiple opportunities to investigate this situation and provided documentation from another automotive shop, yet I was ultimately left with no resolution. The inconsistent explanations, lack of accountability, and complete lack of customer support throughout this process have left me extremely disappointed. I will not be returning to Valvoline, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering using them think twice and thoroughly inspect their vehicle before leaving.

I brought my car into Valvoline at 3930 W State St Boise, Idaho for an oil change. On my last…read morevisit, it was suggested that I get a manual transmission service performed, so at this visit, I paid for the transmission service along with the oil change. 35 miles later as I was pulling into my parking spot at work the transmission completely seized up due to the lack of oil.  It was later found by a local mechanic, that the drain plug was not properly tightened as well as the crush washer not having been replaced on the transmission. While Valvoline did take responsibility for the transmission and cover the labor, they left me to pay for the clutch and flywheel. They told me the mechanic said it was normal wear and tear. When I talked to the mechanic later, he said that was never said and that it was damaged from the transmission seizing. Valvoline lied to me to get me to agree to their terms so they wouldn't have to pay for the parts. When I confronted them with this information they still refused to pay for the parts even though they knew they had gotten me to agree under false pretenses as well as only verbally, they still refused to pay. In short a $99.99 service is now costing me $700 and I was without a car for just under 2 weeks. Don't go here unless it's an emergency, last and only resort. You might only make it 35 miles before you're car is toast. Thank goodness the oil change was fine otherwise they probably would've gave me a bare block and said the rest was normal wear and tear nevermind the absence of oil.

I had to get my oil changed so I took my car to the Jiffy Lube on Broadway. I have had excellent…read moreservice everytime I go here, and this experience was no different. I try to go first thing in the morning so there is never a wait for my car to get worked on. The waiting room is clean and comfortable enough to wait for a while, while my car was getting it's oil changed. I feel that the service providers are all friendly and polite. I appreciate that they let me know if my car needs other services such as new wind shield wipers, fluids, filters, etc. But I never feel pressured to purchase these items from them (though I usually end up doing that so it gets done). And the cherry on top of my service visit is that they vacuum out my car which always makes it feel 10x cleaner when I get back in.

I was the last customer, stopped in at 5:40-checked out at 6:04 PM (per my receipt.) Closing was 6 PM. The pit guy confronted me in the waiting room asking if I was getting a "last minute oil change." After yelling about being at work since 7:30 that morning. I could hear all the yelling from the customer waiting area. Never would I have thought that someone's hurry to get off work would equate to destroying my engine. Followed up next morning when they opened. Didn't have the bay doors open at 8:10. Was told my check engine code and severe knocking was a bad camshaft sensor by Mike the manager. Knocking continued, so I followed up the next day. Offered a free oil change, talked down to, Mike the manager avoided me completely. 3 Jiffy Lube visits (within 3 days) 9.9 miles later my car was inspected by a certified MB mechanic, stating I had minimal oil, and oil all over the engine, with clear photos that the oil plug was leaking brand new oil. They destroyed my engine by not tightening the oil plug. Denied all responsibility, refused to provide insurance information. Requested a call from regional manager, told I would get a call from Steve. Later, Mike the manager LVM for me, saying he wanted to inspect my car (forth time.) I don't know how many screw ups someone can have. I don't feel safe nor do I feel that Mike, the manager, has the authority to check my car after numerous failed attempts. Oil pressure controls the camshaft, having the wrong pressure is what caused the malfunction/sensor error. * I am filing this complaint regarding serious negligence and unprofessional conduct at Jiffy Lube #2540. After an oil change was performed at this location, my engine was damaged due to the oil plug not being tightened. Corporate regional needs to get in touch with me ASAP.

The quality of the work done was great. And was somewhat done quickly. The one thing I did notice…read morethat they had a young gentleman working there. I believe his name was Llovani. He was a very polite and well educated gentleman. What disturbed me about this visit is that I believe it to be the 2 managers of the location I believe a female named Lindsay and a male with glasses not sure his name did nothing but run around yelling at the 2 younger gentlemen. They were yelling for all the clients to hear. I think I would double think on who you have running your business. That Llovani was super helpful and very professional even under the pressure of being yelled at for something he was not at fault at. The other younger one made sure to check in with me as well. He did not have a name tag but he had bleached hair. Was so happy to see the younger generation acting more mature than the adults. Those young boys earn the stars for sure.
