I was in need of a minor repair on my vehicle and found a company convenient to me to fix it. I don't know my way around a car so went looking for help. What I found out about Tune Tech on Fairview Ave is they were more of a "Family Spirit Company" than a fix it shop. The group I met with kept me informed of the progress that day which included a problem I would have not uncovered. It was a wire bundle in my truck that had melted on the mating end and exposed the real problem. The guy working on it, Dave, sent a pix to their computer to share with me, so they could explain what was further needed. A new part was ordered and delivered quickly and although it extended the labor time, they met me in the middle on the final labor charge. While I was there McKenna and John made me feel quite at home while I waited. There office is adorned with Customer Pictures, Thank You cards from customers, and pictures of all their employees. Waiting is NOT something I'm good at but these people made the time go by quickly as they all interacted with me during my stay. Never had that happen before!! The Guyz here at Tune Tech Fairview went ABOVE AND BEYOND. They helped out with with my work van emissions as they are retest center. They got my A/C repaired in my Nissan. They were less expensive then the dealerships in town. Then when I got random codes with possible bad ECU (car's computer going bad) they fixed that too. The parts were hard to find because it is older, but they were relentless in tackling the problem trying to find a solution. They did tons of electric troubleshooting and looked at multiple places and honestly probably lost money trying to repair the Nissan. I was without the Nissan for couple of weeks during this time, as they were waiting on hard to get parts and short staffed too. But it gets better! Since the job was going to take few weeks They then offered to let me drive one of the extra cars they had until they get my Nissan working properly. So I really wasn't inconvenienced. THEY REALLY CARE about people, even though they probably lost money on the Nissan project. As a fellow small business owner I have great respect and admiration for the Owners and the employees. Chris, John H. the Owners, and Mechanics Blaine and John are amazing! Really! These people are probably the last Honest mechanics in Boise that actually care. Several people that very obviously were repeat customers were prioritized above us despite our appointment being before theirs. also my change oil light was never reset, and nowhere in the advertisment did anyone say that there was a limit to the amount of free oil they would add. I understand not giving away your product but when your add says free oil change, and the customer leaves with even a small charge without being told before the keys were returned you have a problem. There was even a point when I was talking to the clerk to make sure that there was no charge for the tire pressure check that I had asked about. When a customer is concerned about price then it should be brought up that the "free" service might not be free. I had a quart of oil in my trunk and could have avoided this had they just told me. While we appreciate the assistance given to veterans who need the assistance I feel that this service was poorly executed and almost felt like I was on the outside of the "good ol' boy" group of people. read more

Tune Tech on Fairview was great with me. I have an older Jeep which I thought had a blown head gasket. I was getting a "boiling sound" and significant coolant leak that was getting worse. I talked with the owner Chris, who had me come down to pressure check it. Chris, Blaine (mechanic), and I talked about the symptoms, and soon Blaine had found a large crack in my radiator. Their quality parts cost slightly over the cheapest I could source locally for a new radiator, hoses, and fluids. Job was done quickly, they cleared the codes, and best of all I don't have to scrap my old Jeep! Great service, great shop full of custom muscle cars, classic cars, imports, and work trucks. Organized, professional, personable, and honest. I will be going back for their expert diagnostics and service. Very satisfied. read more

We were referred to Tune Tech through a mutual friend of one of the mechanics. I had a door handle that needed replaced so I took it in for an estimate. I was impressed by the visual cues of support and gratitude as evidenced by a couple BBB plaques and a slew of cards on the window. After just a few minutes the manager Wayne had an estimate that I was pleased with. We made an appointment come back at the end of the week. When my appointment came I arrived but the part has not so I had to reschedule for the following week. While this was frustrating at least it was just a door handle that, while functioned, was irritating to use. In the mean time I took my car to another shop for another estimate out of curiosity. They would've charged me almost $200 more. So I kept my appointment with Tune Tech. For today's appointment the bad news is, they had the part but discovered the handle was fine but a smaller part was needed. The cost of which was much cheaper. So I had to leave and come back when the part came in. In the end, there were a bit of hiccups, and a little frustration and having to drive back and forth, but the handle is fixed and I felt like Wayne took some extra time to make the fix as easy and cost effective for me as possible. Shoot out to the other mechanic Chris who took a bit of time to give great education on tires (they don't do this there) for when I shop around. I'd highly recommend Tune Tech to anyone. Oil changes start at about $30. Just be aware you may need a small dose of patience. But it's worth it in the end. And maybe that was just my isolated experience. Hence the 4 stars. read more
