I really wanted to love my experience at Rachael's Nails because there is so much potential here. The salon itself is super clean, neat, and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere is calm, and everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly and kind, which I really appreciated. I had a young man as my nail tech, and while he was very sweet and clearly trying his best, I think he may need a bit more training, especially with dip powder. I came in with a few dip nails lifting and had to cut them super short. I asked for very short oval or almond-shaped nails, showed reference photos, and politely explained what I was hoping for. However, I had to repeat a few things multiple times, including wanting all my nails the same short length. In the end, the shape came out round, not quite what I asked for, which was disappointing. The appointment took from 12 to 3 PM, and after sitting for so long, my back was in pain. I had to keep shifting and eventually asked to move to a different chair, which they were kind enough to allow, though I wish someone had checked in earlier to make sure I was comfortable. There was also a mix-up with the top coat. When he applied it, it stayed gummy, and the manager or owner had to step in and completely redo the dip, taking time away from another customer. I felt really bad about that. Even after the fix, the final product unfortunately wasn't up to par. It's now only been a week, and the dip is already lifting and catching in my hair, when normally it lasts me three weeks. As for my pedicure, the woman who worked on my toes was great, also very nice and gentle. But again, I had to politely repeat my preferences for shape and length a couple of times before it was right. All in all, the people here are lovely, the salon is immaculate, and there's a lot to appreciate. But from my experience, I'd say there's still room for improvement in technique and customer comfort during long appointments. I also found the price to be a bit higher than expected, especially given the quality and longevity of the dip. I truly hope the young tech gets the training and support he needs. He has a great attitude and demeanor, which is a solid foundation. I'd love to return in the future once they've had a bit more experience under their belt. read more

Took sometime but I found a really good and affordable nail shop that does quality work every-time. Rachael really cares about her shop and who she hires based my quality of work and service. I called ahead and booked two pedicures for 1:00 pm. My boyfriend and I arrived on time and were seated immediately. A technician began my service, but my boyfriend was left sitting with his feet soaking for over an hour without anyone acknowledging him or starting his pedicure. It became clear we were overbooked. By the time my service finished, we had prior obligations and had to leave without him receiving any service at all. This was extremely frustrating and uncomfortable, especially after calling ahead to avoid this situation. When I alerted the staff they just walked in the back and never came back out. I regret coming here, the younger woman who did our nails was so rough!!! My fingers were so sore after and the day after, I had to take Tylenol for the pain.. She also dropped my sister's phone and cracked her screen and while she offered to give her a replacement she never did and still charged my sister so much for her nails... she ended up paying $130+tip for acrylics and regular pedicure.... I paid $115+tip for same with less designs but the shape of my nails were not even the same length she didn't even bother to make sure the length of my nails were even and the paint is already chipping off (this is one week later) we never even got offered drinks but they offered other clients.... I always hate going to nail salons because we're too nice to speak up, I get that the economy is shit but why is the service shit too?? read more

I just got out of this salon and I am almost in tears. I asked for the design in the photo with just regular manicure but she assured me it would be better with powder and gel. I had spent a LONG TIME growing my nails out from previous tips, and they were long and healthy. Even after I had specified in the appointment that I just wanted nail polish manicure, she started to take out the drill and started to sand my nails. I have social anxiety so I felt extremely afraid to speak up, but after she took out the powders, I clarified that I wanted polish. She told me that powder would be better and that the reference photo is using powder. I wanted the design, not the actual nails. But again, I felt pressured to agree. I then asked if it was too late to do almond, she said it wouldn't look good. I reviewed the shape after she was done and asked if it could be skinnier. She frustratingly laughed, and said she's been doing this for a long time and that she assured me that square would be better and to wait until my natural nails grew longer to do anything like coffin or almond shape. I still trusted her and she proceeded to the design. Well, the pictures speak for themselves. This is like my reference photo's estranged cousin. My natural nails were long and healthy, and now they are square, thick, and have the vague appearance of bacon. I am so upset. I still did not have the courage to say anything at check out and left after paying $50. Which she also said, was a discounted price. I hate myself for not trusting my own gut. I have been to this salon numerous times because is pretty close to where I live. The service is not bad , and they are accommodating even without an appointment. What I find horribly wrong is the way they charge you for the service , as you t changes every time even if your getting the same exact service every time. I always go and bring my daughters and mother from pedis and nails services and every time Rachel always charges more for things we've gotten done that didn't require additional charges. Ex: charged extra for length of nails - always get same length , charged extra for the shape- never happened before etc .. I brushed that off . What really upset me was her selective customer discounts . Two ladies before me got a $20 "holiday discount " they only has pedicures done. My bill was $465 , she gave us a $15 "discount" smh Clearly she picks and chooses who she's going to overcharge ! I am not one to make a big deal and make a scene and I am sure she knew that because I could of easily disputed the charges because they didn't make any sense since we've had same services before for different prices. I will not be returning to that salon , I will take my business elsewhere. Thought it was a fluck the first few times , but today we really saw she was overcharging on purpose ! read more

I went in for a simple mani pedi, and the person who did my nails was awful from start to finish. I have healthy normal feet/skin and she scrubbed so hard my feet and legs bled with the lavender scrub and scrub brush. It stung so much! They kept making excuses when it was happening and I was bleeding. Then she did a horrendous job on both my toes and hands. I had to remove the nailpolish from my hands when I got home and re-do it myself it was so bad. I've never had such a bad mani pedi it was ridiculous. When I showed the manager my hands while they dried and politely asked if they could fix them up, she removed the polish on a couple nails and re-did them but they still looked not good. I just wanted to get out of there and never return. I was crying when I left because I was so frustrated with the service I received. This was also my first outing after birthing my baby and I just wanted to do something nice for myself and it ended up being such a horrible and stressful experience, especially with family photos scheduled for the next day I just wanted pretty nails. The ladies who work there are nice and polite but I would not walk in to this place and expect a good mani pedi. She did my polish very thick and not in a skilled way, but in a way that is very easy to mess up, even hours after the polish dries. yikes. I am putting neosporin on my wounds at home and had to touch up my toes and re-do my hands with a similar color. read more

Saw that this place had good reviews and having just moved to the Lewisville area, I was definitely excited to find one so close to my new home with good reviews. Almost $100 dollars later with a decent pedicure and a crappy nextgen manicure done, Needless to say I will NOT be going back. It was my first time trying the new rave of nextgen. I normally get shellac but have been letting them breathe as they became very flimsy and weak. I attached a picture of how my nails ended up looking (in the photos) only a week after having gotten them done. They started to lift, the pink part started turning white and the nerves of Mai Le saying it was possibly because my nails create too much oil so the powder wasn't sticking. First when I went inside without appointment I didn't like how they didn't have very many choices of gel colors but lady helped me pick out a color and was very patient with me. Not to mention how professional she was and very polite even though I was kind of rude. Most important thing is this photo is 2 weeks old gel polish. Usually when I get gel , they peel within a week and specially with chrome finish it never last more than a week. Idk what they did here but it's 2 weeks now and it's still brand new looking except where my nails grew. I def recommend this place and I will be going back here for my gel manicure from now read more

I'm honestly so disappointed. I gave her so many tries and she continuously got it wrong. At first I asked for this leopard print with the color pink and green I told her numerous times I wanted to pink and green. For some reason she gave me white and tried putting blue sayings it's just the lighting but it's green. She had to o erase it 3 times till I said to just forget it and I'll pick a different design and come tmr as she had other people waiting. Next day I come with a much simpler design clearly the picture you can see I wanted black as the lines, but again she put a completely different color and tone of color on the top. I also told her I wanted a "22 because I'm graduating this year. However ofc she forgot and had to remind her and still with me reminding her she forgot to add the " to indicate what it was. She then went on to put this portrait picture crooked. $80 of my money wasted and these are gonna be my graduation nails. My graduation is in the day after tmr so these will have to do. I corrected her so many times and I was so tired of sitting there so I just said it's fine. But $80 just gone even after showing pictures of the nails I wanted. read more

On a Friday I expected chaos but love how it was very peaceful. Do not let looks deceive you from the outside. Inside is a beautiful oasis and very clean. The tech who did my pedicure was attentive and meticulous. I will say that this is one of the best pedis I ever received.
