I love how many flavorful cultures are represented from my spicy Thai chicken bowl to the Edamame wontons to the Cuban, Korean, Peruvian and American flavors I look forward to trying next time. My spicy chicken had a delicious lake of curry thick enough to be soaked up by my chicken, ancient grains and veggies without being a pool at the bottom. Boy am I glad the folks at my massage place up the street were eating and raving about this place so I stopped by to try it out and no joke, the food is AMAZING. They have a pretty large menu in which you can customize it to your liking. They have two iPads to order from when you first enter. // FOOD & DRINKS // Zingy: Ginger, lemon, mint, pineapple, cayenne, sparkling water, agave. It's almost like a slushy. Very refreshing and not too sweet which I liked. The cayenne gives it a little kick which was really good. 4/5 El Koreano: Grilled certified Angus steak, baby boy chop, cucumber, carrot, gochujang, house kimchi, sweet umami glaze on a bed of brown rice with ancient grains. This bowl was flavorful and had so many different components, but it all worked well together. So, I thought of trying Rabano after driving past it numerous times (and looking it up on Yelp.) I ordered a Chinese chicken salad for dinner. Meiling's Chinese Salad: Mary's free-range chicken breast, organic baby lettuce, almonds, sesame seeds, Mandarin oranges, pickled vegetables, wonton crispies, sesame-ginger dressing - $12. I thought it was good. However, after finishing it I kind of felt like, "Okay, that's it?" So here's where I own it. I probably should have picked up an appetizer or something to go with the salad. It wasn't quite hearty enough and I was left feeling somewhat unsatisfied. Not quite sure if the salad didn't blow me away or if I didn't order quite right? Stopped in this afternoon for a bite to eat. The restaurant had a lot of seats open since it was between lunch and dinner, so I decided to dine in. I ordered the Lechon Cubano, a bowl of pulled pork, black beans, sweet plantains, picked red onions, and ancient grains. The bowl came out less than five minutes later. I was somewhat disappointed that everything served was lukewarm. I remember when Rabano first opened and the servers were so friendly and checked up on the customers to see how they liked the food. Today was a totally different experience. They seemed disinterested and when I mentioned that I may order a drink, there was no follow-up, so I just ate and left. Rabano is one of those places that make me appreciate living in the South Bay. Supporting small businesses that make fresh, tasty. and healthy food is always a pleasure, and the added bonus of having them close by, makes it on my list of go to places when I don't want to either cook or drive. It is popular and the parking lot is tiny, so either go at a non peak time, or park on a nearby street like Artesia or Prospect. The parking is the only drawback here; once you get inside you may either order on the tablets in front of the large menu on the wall (there are daily blackboard specials by the cashier) and take a number, or if you prefer human interaction, order at the cash register. The choices are very straightforward, but on my first visit, it was a bit overwhelming. For the bowls, you can choose any item with white or brown rice, ancient grains, or salad. For the salads and sandwiches, it is pretty much self explanatory unless you want an upgrade or add on. I was very impressed at the quality of the ingredients for the prices. Grass fed beef burgers for $12, free-range chicken in the salads and sandwiches, hand made sodas and dressings. Their pork belly knockout, with lemongrass marinated pork belly, a sweet miso glaze, gochujang, wilted spinach, pickled slaw and watercress on ancients grains for $11.50, was a hearty meal. Tender pork belly with the contrasting bright pickled slaw, and greens made it a filling bowl, but not heavy or greasy. I put my leftovers on arugula when I got home and had a second meal from my leftovers. The Lechon Cubano of cuban style pulled pork, mojo criollo, black beans, red pickled onions, and sweet plantains for $9.50 nice riff on Cuban pork. I found my serving about half fat, half pork, but even so, there was more than enough pork and flavor to make me happy. I added lots of hot sauce to spice it up, and next time I would ask for more of the pickled red onions to perk it up. My favorite bowl here is the El Koreano for $11.50 with grilled certified Angus beef (you can choose free range chicken instead), baby bok choy, cucumber, carrot, gochujang, house kimchi, and a sweet umami glaze. I chose it over white rice, but next time I would choose either ancient grains or brown rice. All the contrasting textures and flavors, from the crunch of the cucumbers to the tender meat and the wonderful home-made spice of the kimchi, worked together to create a colorful complimentary composition. Service was both friendly and efficient, with a harmonious energy that echoed the food they serve; it really is true that the back of the house is as important as the front of the house, and the house at Rabano is well kept inside and out. read more

I have ordered takeout several times since the beginning of the pandemic, but was disappointed this time due to their packaging. This time, I ordered the La Bamba bowl with fresh greens, and it was packed all in one bowl with the hot beans and chicken directly on top of the lettuce. By the time I got home, it was completely soggy and it was unpleasant to eat wilted lettuce mixed with bean juice. Especially since the entire operation is takeout only (and has been for 6 months), this should be an obvious concern if the restaurant actually cared about their food. Upon calling the restaurant back, I was informed that I could have "requested it in separate containers." Wow, what a revolutionary idea! Too bad we didn't discover Rabano until the pandemic started. This was our second time doing delivery (and I can only imagine how much more yummy the food would be if we were to do dine-in!) We ordered three bowls to share: 1) El Koreano with steak. I would definitely order this again. We requested it on a bed of half greens and half ancient grains. It came topped with bok choy (lightly seasoned with salt and sesame oil), aged kimchi, pickled cucumbers, a spicy gochujang sauce and the seasoned steak. I was actually really surprised by how good the steak was-- it was tender and perfectly seasoned. 2) Lechon Cubano. Not sure if I would order this again, only because the pork was dry (we haven't had good luck with the pork dishes we've ordered here). The pork & black beans were well seasoned and the plantains were nicely cooked (and again, we ordered it on a bed of half greens and half ancient grains) though. 3) Poke Ceviche. This was our second time ordering it and we will continue to order it! Some of the pieces of tuna still had the tough membrane attached, which I didn't like, BUT OH THAT YELLOW SAUCE IS SO GOOD. I would gladly order a container of that sauce and pour it on everything-- it's spicy, creamy and citrusy. I've never had anything like it. We also ordered the Thai Tea with boba, with almond milk (I appreciate it when there's an option to sub non-dairy milks). Went to this place for dinner around 7PM. It got real busy rather quickly. People love this place apparently, and I feel like I do too. I like the way you can put your order in yourself on the stations available for that near the entrance. Maybe they need to include an "unsweetened" option to the drinks so you don't have to go and tell them in person. All in all it was a pleasant experience. We ordered the salad in the photo x2. We've only lived here for 2 weeks and have already gotten Rabano for delivery and takeout 3 times- it's that good! They have such a variety of options on their menu that you can order different things each time. They have good boba milk teas- I loovee boba and usually don't get it from a food establishment, but they know their boba! I like how they have alternative milk options and you can adjust the sweetness level. I'm really surprised I haven't left a review for Rabano! I think if I had to pick one place in the South Bay to eat every single day it would be here. I think the best word to describe their food is wholesome. Any of their bowls will fill you up but won't leave you feeling groggy or uncomfortable. Their fusion food is right up our alley and my family has liked everything we have tried here (this is super rare). The food is all really tasty and loaded with fresh ingredients! I feel like you can't go wrong with anything you try here. Our favorites are la bamba, lechon cubano, spicy Thai thicken, el koreano, peruvian saltado and the pork belly knockout. We usually get half ancient grains and half greens and it's *muah chef's kiss* It's on the way to/from the airport for us so it's a great pre/post airport meal in their clean but small space, and it's also great for takeout and eating on the beach!! :) read more

Seems like your management is lacking enforcement on your staff. Came in and workers are on their phones, slow service, being rude to customers and even their own coworkers. You can tell these workers are not working together and communicating at all. Very bad for your business. Cashier seems to be taking all the orders but other employees are on their phones and being rude, slow and lazy!! I was their waiting on my food and saw another customer come in and said her name but had to wait additional 15 minutes waiting for her food. After 15 minutes a guy ask her name and it was on the counter all this time and now the food is all cold!! Another one was asking for extra mayonnaise and the guy just ignored him. Another customer was giving the wrong order. Service was just consistently sloppy and disappointing. Fernando you need to manage and retrain your lazy staff or they will run your business to the ground. If this doesn't change all your customers will go to another place that has better service. Remember when the boss is away the mouse will play!! I suggest having someone with strong management skills overlooking staff in the mornings till close cause the current one doesn't seem to do their job. Your feedback months ago about your staff being trained to provide excellent service and to treat customers with respect it does not show at all till this day. Nothing change really means you don't care! For the food I had ordered the bahn mi sandwich and was just okay. I like Lee's sandwich bahn mi version better. If you like loud music then come here. The Lechon and Saltado also great. I don't ear out too often, maybe once a week. I feel like I would gladly eat Rabano a few times a week and never bore of it. Parking isn't great. Quite possibly the best food in the South Bay. I think i have been here 9 times in 3 weeks. I'm not quite sure why i waited so long to try this place. But stupid me i was missing out. All the bowls are so tasty. I love the fusion of Asian, Peruvian, Cuban...so much culture, so much taste! They source everything right. Clean, organic, never canned and never frozen. The owners are super nice and always around to make sure the place runs smoothly. It's always crowded too. I mean with food this good, it should be packed. Both burgers are great too and they do protein style. The fries are delicious. There's great teas, and boba drinks, and just a super diverse and awesome menu. Management's lacking enforcement of mask wearing inside the cramped ordering area, however, can be really annoying. I saw a couple dudes, one right after the other, saunter in nonchalantly without a face mask, hang out the entire time by the registers tapping away on their iPhones, and not one staff member asked them to mask up, social distance away from other customers or wait outside while their order is prepared. After I got my food, I spoke to a staff member who said management doesn't make them do anything to enforce mask rules. I've been coming to Rabano the last couple months. I have to say that everything I've tried is so damn good. I'm a creature of habit normally and stick with one or two items normally at restaurants. At Rabano I fluctuate between the "Thai Chicken", "Peruvian Saltado" and "Kabob Mediteraneo". Honestly its a difficult decision every time I show up. I've also had the steak burrito which is really good. Every single item is fresh and taste so good, and healthy also. My wife is Gluten free( celiac ) and they have huge selection for that. I still want to try one of the burgers. I would definitely highly recommend this place. For the price you pay, you can't complain on the amount of food you receive. read more
