R-Tech uses radio towers on top of mountains to deliver high speed internet. This is a far superior option over satellite which has a terrible lag time. While trying to establish a service here in the boonies I was excited to find this service on Yelp. I called them and scheduled an appointment for a survey. When the day came I took the hour long drive to the site only to be called late and told that they could not make the appointment. We rescheduled the appointment and this time someone showed up. The tech found a clear line of sight due east of my place. Unfortunately all the antennas on that tower were pointed either North or South. He said he'd see what they could adjust on the tower and get back to me. They never got back to me. I called them again and asked them if they had found a solution. The tech I needed to talk to wasn't there. I was assured that they would call me back that same day. They didn't Months later I found an unlimited mobile hotspot service that's faster and less expensive. We have been using R-Tech for several years now and have had occasional problems in the past but since Covid the problems have become more frequent.The last 6 days have been disastrous with on again off again service and when in service continued low speed download and upload. It amazes me that this company is still in business. Their business model is: you leave a message and MAYBE they will get back to you in a couple days. All they do is pray on families that don't have any other provider available. THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY NEED MONEY. Their internet service agreed to: $75 for 40 Mbs down and 4 Mbs up. The majority of the time we got less than 5 Mbs down IF the internet isn't completely out. Their disclaimer says they are not responsible for internet shortages or slow speeds so they essentially are just a fraudulent company that doesn't actually provide the product you pay for. I cancelled my month to month contract with this company and the only correspondence I've heard since canceling was them billing me another month almost a month later. Even though you pay for the month in advance. Technically they have a 30 day minimum cancelation, however, I cancelled after not receiving the product agreed on in the contract in the first place. Do yourself a favor. Get an AT&T (or any other) hotspot and you will pay less with a better internet connection. This company should receive legal repercussions for being fraudulent and criminal. I wish I had time to pursue them legally but this will just be another lesson learned to not deal with a completely unprofessional company. read more

They are a local family business that keeps losing staff due to how the customers treat them. It's really sad how ungrateful and entitled folks have become. R-Tech came into these rural areas and created a solution when no one else wanted to. Still there are little to no other options. The fact is it's DIFFICULT to serve these rural areas, and Kris was ingenuitive enough to figure out a way. Now that COVID has caused such difficulties in keeping staff, finding staff, finding and securing equipment and nearly quadrupled the system demand everyone is up in arms. Have some compassion and appreciation for what you have, for what you have had. For what we all have because of Kris! He takes care of us.. his staff is all new again, and they are eager. Horrible customer service. After two years of crappy internet service, I finally had enough. They charged my credit card for a monthly payment AFTER cancelling my service with them (due to what seemed like almost daily internet outages and interruptions) and despite numerous calls and attempts to get a refund, I was continuously told their accounting team was "working on it" and yet several months later I still have not been refunded. Additionally, they set a date/time frame to come pick up their equipment, and no one ever showed up or called to say they couldn't make it. They did this TWICE, which is horribly inconvenient when you make arrangements to be sure to be home for something! I have had R-Tech for about a year. It was ok until about 3 months ago. Every day was connectivity issues. They would start somewhere between 4pm-6pm and persist throughout the night. A lot of us in the neighborhood would call and they would sometimes call us back or it would get fixed. However this entire week they have not returned a single call to anyone i know and we have had near constant disruption of services. Using any form of Voip isnt possible and watching TV isnt even an option. Pay 90 dollars a month for something that doesnt work anywhere near as advertised is a bit disheartening. If they find a way to correct this i will update but as of right now, October 18th, it has been days since they have even contacted us or anyone i know. *19th October* Techs came to trouble shoot, i appreciate that they showed up and i hope this gets resolved *20th October* They found the problem it seems and spend a saturday working on it. it is currently Sunday and i dont see any problem. Worst customer service & wifi ever. My Husband and I live in military housing and sadly r-tech is the only wifi service available to us. I am appalled at the lack of communication and care this business has for it's paying customers.. So initially my husband was told that the Cube they provide was ours and our neighbors were told the same for theirs, but weeks later we're told from a staff member that ours isn't? also our neighbors were able to have a tech come out to put a password on the cube that they provide for no cost but when we asked the rep seemed clueless as to what we were wanting and said we would have to buy a 120$ router for that specific service... Meanwhile this whole issue took weeks to get any answers on. Absolute sh*t show of a company. Overall after all the misinformation and lack of customer service, my husband expressed our dissatisfaction and frustration upon the lies we've been told, and their response was instead of providing the customer support that is their job, they cut our connection, told us to return the cube and threatened to turn us into 3 credit bureaus if we don't return the cube that we were told was ours. Absolutely horrible internet service I pay for the 20 Mbps service but routinely don't receive over 1 Mbps service if at all. To the point that if any other service including dial up from the 1990's was available it would be an upgrade. The only way to get in contact with anyone is through their contact portion of the website that I have to access with my phone because R-Tech's internet doesn't work. I have also had issues with them not arriving to repair service. This service is not worth the money and if you have any other alternative use that service it will most likely be much better. Here's an update to our R-tech fiasco. We tried to cancel back in June and they did in fact cut off the internet at the end of the cycle. They then continued to charge us for subsequent months where we had no internet access and when we finally got in touch with an actual person they said we would be reimbursed but that has yet to happen. I've sent in several emails with no response despite why their website says. I had to call the bank and put a stop payment so they can't continue to charge us. They then us the audacity to send us a bill with a late fee. From talking with other folks we know, they have had a similar experience. I would not recommend this service to anyone. I understand they may be short staffed but to have a problem like this going on for THREE MONTHS is outrageous. Next step is to notify the Better Business Bureau. read more

And, even though they charge up to $95 per month they refused to update the cabling and equipment. I am personally embarrassed how much time I spent trying to contact them to setup my service to my home. Even after all of that work for me to give them money they have the audacity to provide me with a internet net connection that is more spotty then a Dalmatian. After all of this, I call to terminate my service and they continue to charge me for two additional months after I moved.
