I've used R&R Climate Control twice so far this winter and whole heartedly recommend them to everyone for their cooling and heating needs. I was unfortunate to have furnace issues in two of my rental properties but Jarrett at R&R cooling was able to remediate both issues in a timely and cost effective manner. The first time I had called R&R Climate was for a second opinion. The furnace had stopped working and a local competitor had recommend that I replace the furnace after taking a brief assessment. I called R&R Climate and Jarrett the owner was personally able to come out on short notice. Jarrett was incredibly communicative and provided constant updates on status. He provided a detailed explanation of the issue at hand and why the previous diagnosis was incorrect. I also received a video of the inspection for my records which was really helpful as a landlord. The previous technician had indicated the furnace was at the end of its life and not worth fixing. However, Jarrett informed me that it still had a few years left and the repair was a relatively quick and cost effective fix. They were able to quickly determine the problem, had the necessary part to repair the problem, and changed the filter. They were professional and extremely clean. Jarrett, Chris, and co. of R and R Climate Control replaced an ancient furnace for me in Machesney Park IL with a new Lennox model from Lowes (with UV light, extra filtration, wifi thermostat.) I did a lot of research before going this route. R&R Climate were excellent from the start - out of five quotes I conducted from large and small companies, R&R was the most prepared and extensive with a proper heat load calculation in hand when arriving, and adjusted it to meet my remodeling needs without increasing price (slightly larger furnace than initially quoted.) They provide four different packages for furnaces (and also AC systems), with detailed paperwork on each, to help you choose the best option for your situation. This is nice - most quotes I got was for one type of furnace system, nobody else gave me their honest recommendation AND enough information to make an informed choice. Communication was good - available every time I ever tried to contact them, whether via phone, text, or email with quick responses. They really went above and beyond all expectations for my installation. They wanted to make sure they did the job right - and in the process, did a LOT of extra work that I did not anticipate being included for the amount of money I paid. It took one full day with two people working, and an additional full day with four people working - it was a big job. Jarrett has 15 years of installation experience and has also been an HVAC instructor at ECC. Everyone was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They also included two years of annual maintenance checks for free on my new furnace due to another scheduling delay, which was an unexpected kindness on their end. Towards the end of my wait for installation, my old furnace actually gave up the ghost - these guys came out and delivered some heater units to my house so I wouldn't freeze at the drop of a hat while managing a massive work load. Used R and R to replace my system in my business. They seem to know what they are doing , except when it comes to communication. Attempting to get a call or even a response back from them is a challenge. Very defensive and full of excuses because they are a "small business". Would not recommend if you need something done in a timely fashion. read more

R&R Climate control came out on the SAME DAY we lost our hot water in the winter. I couldn't believe how fast they got back to me or fixed the problem! Jarret was very helpful and polite. He explained everything thoroughly and made sure we understood rather then rushed through it to get to the next job. The problem was fixed in no time and we had hot water to get us through the cold. I would give the installation 5 stars, however because of everything else, I have to stick with 1 star. I choose R&R because of the reviews, even though they were more expensive for the same product. They will relentlessly try to sell you things you don't need, even telling you that they are required items when they are not. I was lied to/misled multiple times about the installation. I was told it would take one day to complete, then the day of, I was told that I was never told this, and was told it would take 2 days all along, except if this was the case I wouldn't have scheduled an install on a Friday. I was told that someone would call me Monday to set up a time to come out on Monday and finish. No one showed up, and I had to call multiple times to find out when the install would be finished. No one showed up the 2nd time and I had to call again to find out why. I was told by the sales guy that he would email me a voucher for a free 1 year maintenance checkup for all the hassle, which I never got. I called and sent an email with a question, which I never got a call or email back. Like I said, the install was good, I am just worried if I ever have an issue, I will get the same terrible service i got on the install. I paid them more than their competition, had I known the service would have been so bad, I would have just gone with the cheap guy. read more

Horrible! Had an expensive system that was partially installed in 2016 -- with the promise of a $600 rebate from Com ED out of a $4600.00 quote. Com ed needed the documentation within 90 days of the final installation. Didn't happen due to a continued personnel shortage at R & R and scheduling problems they didn't show up - now it is November 2017 and they said I need to get the rebate myself which is when I learned that due to their incompetence the rebate opportunity was no longer available. Also, they put holes in my roof which caused a water problem as well that had to be fixed that I had to pay for on top of having a system that doesn't work. Bottom line --- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They obviously (for whatever reason) can't keep employees and therefore in a continued state of chaos - can't deliver what they promise. read more

Air Conditioner was not working properly and was giving us a lot of problems. I called up R & R and they said they were pretty busy until Friday. I set up an appointment and a couple minutes later I got a call back saying someone canceled and he would be out in an hour. I was super pleased. The owner came out and was the one who worked on my A/C. He was very friendly and very honest. He was respectful of my home and of me. He fixed my A/C and it was very affordable too. I have dealt with other "big name" companies that you hear about and haven't had the same quality of people come out. R & R is a great company and I would highly recommend them to anyone out there. read more

I always read these reviews and somewhat skeptical about the one or two people who have problems with a business when there seems to be so many good reviews. After being frustrated to the point that I can no longer take it though, I thought I would at least post this in the hopes of prevent someone else from spending any type of money with this company. I actually met Chris, one of the owners, last year at the Boone County Fair when I was looking at having a new furnace and air conditioner installed in my home. After reviewing the bids, I had gotten several, and doing what I thought was a complete background check with references, I signed a contract with R&R on September 11, 2015. When I signed the contract, I was assured by Jarrett that I would be having a "pre-construction" meeting to review my installation since it was so complicated. As I am a contractor and property manager by trade, I thought it was appropriate to have the meeting since I knew what we would be getting into. The downward spiral started when that meeting never took place. In fact, I didn't hear from the company until my furnace was supposed to be installed 30 days later, and wouldn't you know it, nothing had been relayed to the guys doing the installation. In fact, none of the duct work or specialty pieces that were required had been ordered yet either. The installation ordeal took the better part of 5 days because the pieces for the upgraded thermostat hadn't been ordered yet which, in the end, left us without heat on the first cold stretch of the year. In fact, one night we recorded temps in the 50's in the house because the job wasn't completed on time. Fast forward to the completion of the furnace when I was able to witness the owner of the company attempt to wire a $300 thermostat and get frustrated to the point where he couldn't complete the job. In the end, despite my gut feeling I paid the bill, in full, and was told that I would receive a follow up from the company in about a week to review the installation and the operation of things like the heat pump and thermostat. Today, it's February 5th and I still haven't had that meeting. In fact after several attempts to contact the company to have service and repairs made to the items that went wrong with the installation, I have not heard from the company unless it's to say that the installation was completed better than other companies that do the same work. I don't know, maybe it's me, but when I pay over $7,000 for a new system, I expect as close to perfection as possible and if that's not possible than what I ask if for someone to show some pride in their work. Instead what I'm left with is an heat pump pad that's warped, a heat pump that won't shut off when it's cold outside, a furnace blower motor that sounds like a squirrel cage and a furnace exhaust that allows carbon monoxide to re-enter the house through the intake. There's a reason why this business switched from Bryant to Lennox and my only guess is because Bryant dumped them for poor workmanship.
