AMAZING SERVICE! DUSTIN IS AWESOME!!! Called a few HVAC places late in the day last week after our A/C unit wasn't blowing cold anymore. Dustin called me back and was able to schedule me in for the morning. Dustin was prompt, on time, and worked fast to troubleshoot the issue. The system was low on Freon so that's where we started. After filling up the system the A/C seemed to blow a little colder, but not much. Dustin was off to another appointment and wanted me to keep him updated once the system ran for a little while. The A/C wasn't getting any better so i made another call to Dustin who was able to come back the same day after his last appointment and take a look. Dustin worked very late into the day (on a weekend) and ultimately found that the A/C condenser in the furnace was completely blocked by lint and dirt, 100% blocked and not letting any air through. After cleaning it up, the A/C system is running better than it ever has. Ice cold A/C, keep the house at 75 in 95 degree heat, and the air is flowing strong out of the vents. Thank you Dustin! Not only is his service top notch, he couldnt be a nicer guy to talk to. He was very friendly and has a huge pride of ownership in his business, which is hard to find. No way, I had them come out after hours so I get having to pay the $35 overtime charge. What they don't tell you is if the guy doesn't get it diagnosed within a half an hour they charge you half an hour or almost an extra $60! I'll say more about the quote that was given after the job is done by someone else. Let's just say he tried to take advantage of my need for heat.... and the guy that came out was from G and R Heating. I asked for a quote to replace my heating and air conditioner. They would not give me a free quote unless my husband was present. If it was me present (the wife) they said it would cost $75 that would be refunded if I went with their company. Most companies will come out and do a written quote for free. An over the phone quote, not written in any way, is not the same thing, especially when considering replacing the entire heating and air conditioning unit. I think it does warrant an appropriate review when the courtesy of a written quote costs a charge if only one decision maker is present. Most companies will give a written quote for only one decision maker present and I would want to know, as the consumer, which companies will not. read more

We wanted to get our Air Conditioning unit checked as it was running, but seemed to emit a funny smell. We also wanted to get it done quickly. We called Absolute Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning because of the Yelp reviews we read and could not have been happier with the service. They came right out, figured out the problem and quickly repaired our unit. It was a very fair initial price for their service call and an even better hourly rate for service and repair. I bragged about the guys at Absolute at work and my boss called them the next day. He received the same great experience we had as well. Wrote a review for Andy's service last winter on google, figured he deserved some love on yelp as well. Andy is very personable (he remembered who I was after only one service call over a year ago). He's honest, won't overcharge you (go ahead and quote from the famous plumbing guy on the radio and see how much he charges), and he's good about calling you back and scheduling an appointment quickly. A/C compressor froze up yesterday, wasn't sure if it was dirty or what. Haven't ever had my freon level checked, turns out it was low (not a bad leak for 9 years of never needing recharging). 10 minutes and he was done. I would totally reccommend his service to anyone, and if you don't believe me, read his (37 reviews as of today) on google, nearly flawless feedback from customers. As I said on google, he'll give you tips of things to look for (instead of always calling for service). He told me the pipe coming in should feel like a cold beer. Look at the reviews. Did you notice that it went from five stars back in 2015 to one star now. That's because Andy past away and Dustin sold the Absolute Comfort to G and R HVAC just after 2015. Called them on a Friday to look my Dad's dead furnice. He's 92 takes blood thinners and has a weak heart. If it gets below 70s in the house it's a problem. They told me that they would be at the house between 5 and 7. They got there at around 8pm. Said it was a loose wire and that it was fixed. Saturday morning it's dead again. I called and they said they would have a tech at the has in two hours. After 5 more phone calls and waiting 4-1/2 hours the tech shows up. Said now that the connection is loose in the motor. He didn't tell me that on Friday. Charged my dad twice for the same problem. So between Fri and Sat I spent about 7 hours waiting for them to show. It's too bad that they took Absolute Comfort in to the toilet. Andy and Dustin worked hard all those years to make it a five star business. I choose this company after reading all of the positive reviews. I'm so sorry I did. My air conditioning went out in August so I called and spoke to Dustin. He came out and fixed what he thought was wrong and I thought we were all set. The next day my air conditioner went out again. I called and found out he was on vacation. Had to be without air conditioning until he came back. Called him when he came back, He called me back and left a message, I returned his call and he never called back. Since it was September and I knew I wouldn't really need the air conditioner, I just decided to look for a different company. Even though he is very nice, he needs to hire someone else and work on his follow up. I am very disappointed with the service. read more

To whom it may concern, In answer to your question about customer experience, NO I was not satisfied with the job the technician did! When he was trying to connect the AC unit to the disconnect he found that the wires were too short which required the addition of several more inches of cable. Instead of using screw down butt splicers or split nuts he just shoved them under a wire nut and didn't even bother to twist them together first! So I'm going to have to redo those connections because I'm not going to allow those wires to sit there and slow cook under a repeated 50 amp load. Any tradesman that's worth a damn knows the importance of making up your connections securely. Also, and this is the kicker when he was making the ground wire connection he was not going to connect the wire from the house to the ground lug in the box because it was too short! He managed to connect the AC unit side to the lug but the house side was too short to make it, so-why not just close it up! I made him go get a piece of wire and extend the wire to the lug. That's why I watch contractors whenever possible. You never know when you're going to get one of these guys. If there was ever a problem like a short circuit in the condenser then the current would have caused the entire unit to become "HOT". And when one of you guys came to work on it or the homeowner tried to check it, that is exactly where the Fire Department would find them until they pulled the meter off the house. And he charged me over $300.00 BEFORE the overtime charge for this stellar job!!! read more

I called Andy at Absolute Comfort because when I called my other regular guy the regular guy couldn't be reached and didn't call back after 2 attempts. I decided to give Andy a call and Andy called me back within 15 minutes and was polite and made it to my house right when he said he would. He was honest and friendly in my home and took the time to explain everything he was doing. I felt very cared for and will recommend his business to anybody who asks. Just wanted to report that Jay diagnosed our furnace circuit board had failed and it would be $1300 to replace. He then stated that if we replaced our furnace due to how everything was set up we would have to drain all the coolant in our A/C and at that point might as well replace that too. He left charging me $300 for the visit and a recommended quote of $7500 to replace my furnace and A/C. Today I received a second opinion and the root of the problem was a shorted circuit on the control panel which was fixed in 5minutes and everything is working great. I'm not claiming foul play just that your employee potentially made a serious error when diagnosing my furnaces issue. read more

DO NOT USE: Absolute heating and air, they also go under G and R heating. Bought a furnace replacement 11/19. An incorrect installation led to an $800 bill from ABC in 5/20 to fix my air conditioner that wasn't working because it had been incorrectly wired when the new furnace was installed by Absolute. Add $1,000 deductible because my basement flooded due to the way Absolute incorrectly hooked up my furnace drain. All this was brought to their attention and their response was "sorry lady, I can't do anything for you." I wouldn't recommend these people to my worst enemy. read more

Our hvac was living on borrowed time so I had been looking thru yelp for some leads on a good hvac service. Had read the positive reviews for Absolute and mentally filed it away. When the fan conked out we called Dustin out. He did a great job getting us up and running. Knowing that we'd need a new system, we asked him to write up a quote. He was very helpful in getting us a great new high efficiency system. He did a great job installing it. We are so pleased with the HE unit he installed. Our power bill is down almost 30% compared to the same month last year. This unit also keeps the house much cooler on the high heat days. The old system wouldn't keep up. What a great experience. Dustin even helped make sure we were setup for all the rebates we could get. After rebates the HE unit was within a few hundred dollars of the conventional system. read more

These guys are extremely overpriced. I called Absolute and a guy from GandR heating comes out. In total they charged 642 dollars to replace the head of a zone valve. It was a 5 minute diagnosis and a 5 minute repair. It is only 3 wires to screw off, pop the new one in reattach 3 wires. 79 dollar part so 563 dollars for ten minutes of work. It's just way overpriced, i guess they figure when they got you in a bind because you need your heat to work they'll take full advantage read more

Really great service! I had an air conditioning unit leaking freon and had to be refilled each summer. The company I used prior would refill it and then tell me I need a new compressor. Dustin applied a product to stop the leak, and refilled the freon, fixing the problem and charged much less for the for freon refill. Further, he noticed that my other compressor showed high pressure levels. Turned out some insulation and detached from the compressor and was constricting the airway for the fan. He found it and avoided shortening the life of my compressor. This is my new HVAC company. Check them out! read more

I just tried calling these guys, I literally was on the phone for 4 minutes trying to give guy my name, literally had to spell my name 4 times before he took me off speaker phone. I have a hard name I guess? D-A-N ??? If you can't operate a phone. I probably don't want you toying with my expensive mechanical entities around my home. The service might be great...? Very disappointed. Used in the past and was charged for a repair that wasn't really repaired but didn't show up till the batteries ran out on the thermastat. Agreed to have them come out to do the annual AC check. They never showed up, never called. When I called them, they couldn't contact or identify who the service tech that was scheduled for the home. After having given them 30 minutes after their 3 hr window and I called and received endless runaround for another 2 hr. NEVER AGAIN! What a poor way to run a business. read more

Absolute as in absolutely great service! We had no heat and Dustin squeezed us into his schedule. Great service, friendly and fixed the problem quickly. On June 13th I called to set up an appointment to have my furnace cleaned. I was given a window of time between 1-3 pm, no problem. My wife took the day off to be here for them. This morning they tried to cancel our appointment because they had AC repair jobs they wanted to go do. We are in the process of selling our house, we needed the furnace cleaned and my wife took the day off, so no, we want to keep the appointment. The guy who called then confirmed the appointment for 1-3pm. At 3:20, my wife called to see where they were at. Note that they did not call to say they were running late, we had to call them. Comcast who has the worst customer service in world at least calls you when they are running late. Anyways, they said they would be here at 5 pm. My wife said ok, she had to pick the kids up from daycare, she'll be back at 5. At 4:30 the guy shows up at our???!!! What happened to 5? The technician was dispatched to another job and we were told that he would be back in about 2 hours. At 6:30 I called to see where they were at, again, no call from them. They said they came back and no one was home. Well I was home by then, along with my family, with TWO cars in the driveway, so they went to the wrong house or are liars. On top of that, the guy who answered the phone at 6:30 felt compelled to yell at me, because they messed? just had this company out to my house yesterday for a furnace tune-up. it cost me $298.00 dollars. why, well the flame sensor was bad and needed to replace as well as the filter. the tech took the time to explain what was happening with my furnace and how this bad sensor was affecting the furnace operation. the tech informed me that it would cost $175.00 for the part. today i decided to check online to see how much this part would cost and found that this part could be purchased for less than $15.00. i went to amazon and other sites and finally checked the furnace manufacturers website for this part and found the part for aforementioned $15.00. just want to know why this part from the Absolute cost approximately 12 times more than the manufacturers. by the way i live in Bolingbrook, il read more

I needed to have my furnace serviced to be ready for this brutal winter that is on the way and I wanted an HVAC contractor that was local. As I was checking out various contractors on line I came across Absolute Comfort and thought I would give them a try. My schedule is very full and Andy said that he could come this Saturday.
