In addition to being able to quickly diagnose and fix the issue with the AC, he was a genuinely friendly guy that was a pleasure to deal with. I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. AMAZING SERVICE! DUSTIN IS AWESOME!!! Called a few HVAC…read moreplaces late in the day last week after our A/C unit wasn't blowing cold anymore. Dustin called me back and was able to schedule me in for the morning. Dustin was prompt, on time, and worked fast to troubleshoot the issue. The system was low on Freon so that's where we started. After filling up the system the A/C seemed to blow a little colder, but not much. Dustin was off to another appointment and wanted me to keep him updated once the system ran for a little while. The A/C wasn't getting any better so i made another call to Dustin who was able to come back the same day after his last appointment and take a look. Dustin worked very late into the day (on a weekend) and ultimately found that the A/C condenser in the furnace was completely blocked by lint and dirt, 100% blocked and not letting any air through. After cleaning it up, the A/C system is running better than it ever has. Ice cold A/C, keep the house at 75 in 95 degree heat, and the air is flowing strong out of the vents. Thank you Dustin! Not only is his service top notch, he couldnt be a nicer guy to talk to. He was very friendly and has a huge pride of ownership in his business, which is hard to find. This company is GREAT! After another company replaced my furnace and messed it up by miss matching…read morethe plenum size and furnace I got McHenry to do it. The other furnace was crap and only lasted a year before the blower failed (because of the pressure miss match caused by the plenum mismatch). They replaced the furnace with a good one, AND got it up off the floor like it SHOULD have been. In addition to correcting the plenum, they put a NEW and correct filter housing on it. That doesn't seem like a big thing except the prior company had some dummy install a filter housing with the screws facing IN to the slot where the filter sits making it a real pain to replace. So ya, I definitely recommend them.

They worked alongside the plumber so he could repair the pipe between removing old ductwork and putting in new ductwork. It wasn't a simple job because they had to remove some dropped ceiling in order to get the ductwork out and in. They also replaced some damaged conduit and replaced the ceiling and trim. I said well what are your rates since the part is covered under warranty, he tells me it will be some administrative charges for the girls doing paperwork around $100.00 and 2 hours of labor for a 20 minute job. I understand labor charges but not 2 hours for a 20 minute job, and I don't understand the administrative fee of $100.00. so basically I'm paying for the part that is supposed to be under warranty. This will run about $400 to $450 for a part under warranty. Run, run, run from this company.
